Food and service were great. We went early, like around 4:30pm, so no wait time. The view of the beach while eating was very relaxing and romantic. We ordered a Seafood Paella, good for 2 people, at least for us it was and a special order of chicken with mofongo plain with vegetables.

Google
Nice beachfront restaurant, service great, food great very tasty. Nice views, good for photos. Just beware of the mosquitos on the outside during the evening. Had to relocate to inside Airco room.

Google
Salitre Mesón Costero is a pleasant restaurant to eat in the afternoon. The staff are great when ordering drinks, appetizers, and main plates. There's a beautiful view of the ocean and high waves for surfers with chairs on the grass area to see it closely. The sea breeze is good for the lungs.

Google
The views of the ocean & the subtle pattern of the waves hitting the beach provides the perfect back drop to indulge in the various seafood offerings at Salitre. I had the whole fried snapper. I left no crumbs! It was delish!! The mofungo was authentic to PR. We also had the NY strip & the chicken Alfredo for the young adults in our party. Portions are generous & everyone left filled.. we did t have space for dessert. Plan to spend a few more dollars but it was worth it.

We love to explore different restaurants and neighborhoods when we travel and especially in PR where, imho, they have some dam good cooks. So we stopped in, and they truly didn't disappoint. From the moment we stepped in, our host greeted us with a smile ( sorry i didnt get names but our host was a young lady w glasses and long hair ) then we were seated at 1 of their ocean view tables which btw is very picturesque. Our waitress approached us with a smile and off we go. Ordered a few drinks and no appetizers today, but most definitely wanted to try their shrimp mofongo as well as chicken mofongo, which were awesome, btw. The texture of the shrimp with its flavored garlic sauce and the seasoning within the mofongo were both dam good. We paired it with mashed Malanga with pieces of bacon and OMG, whatta sizzle of flavors. U can't go wrong.

Google
The food super delicious 🤤 and the service super excellent The waitress had a beautiful smile with canela skin I really for got her name but she was super friendly and professional We had Cazuela de Halibut Pepper relleno de cetí Hallibut with salad and mofongo relleno de carrucho Excellent service and food Free Parking on side Strongly recommend

Google
I am visiting from Austin Texas, but I am from Puerto Rico. We enjoyed the food but the service was espectacular. Navy was out server. She went above and beyond to make our exprerience an unforgettable. I come back every year and will do as far as it is open. We had a Alcapurrias de jueyes, a whole snapper fried and also the mofongo with shrimp in creole sauce. At the end of the meal we had a carrot tres leches and a spectacular expresso with milk. The food was over the top but the service was even better. All of that with a spectacular view. Love it!

Google
Great place that I would definitely recommend! The fish of the day was delicious, and the finger food at the entrance was outstanding. Drinks were good, though not exceptional. The restaurant is clean, located in a very secure area, and offers plenty of parking. .

Yelp
Great service, awesome view if seating outdoors pairs perfectly with the dinning alternatives. Seafood its their specialty and it talks volumes. Loved the garlic-buttery topping while my tamarind was not that great. The shrimp is a most ask.

Yelp
This is a nice place to come on the weekend with the family or group of friends for some good food and an ocean view. We went during the day with some friends (all with kids), but it seemed like it would make for nice date night. We shared the Marine Sampler and Coconut Shrimp for appetizers. It was all good, but I'd say my favorite was the coconut shrimp. For the main course I went with the octopus stuffed mofongo. It was overflowing with meat and sauce. I could have done with less sauce, even though it was good. The octopus was good. Well prepared and fresh. The others at the table mostly went with the red snapper, which they bring to the table beforehand so you can pick the one you want. Their beer options weren't interesting so I went with a vodka and passion fruit juice. Overall, we had a nice experience. I'd return.

Yelp
A restaurant at the coastal line that you can enjoy the sunset. It is a place for romantic dinner. Price is not cheap if you go for local lobster. We has seat close to lava rock beach section. We enjoy the last minute sunset view while having our dinner. The menu is in the board and they are changing every day. We have the Langosta Fresca Entera PR. Fresh whole local lobster. We also added the scampi shrimp in the dish. The lobster was grilled with butter. I like the chewy local lobster meat. The shrimp is not bad either. This dish is by weight. We also got the virgin pina colada and banana strawberry colada. Very refreshing. Service is really good here due to high class restaurants. Parking is available in the front.

Yelp
The chillo frito was amazing. It was fresh, like caught that day fresh. You then get to choose which one you want. It was fried to perfection. I got it with rice and beans on the side, which were very good. The coconut shrimp and the calamari were also very good. The best thing though is the view of the ocean.
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
I will start by saying the restaurant was beautiful, our food was delicious and our waitress was wonderful. I would consider coming back here during the day. We watched the most beautiful sunset but quickly realized afterwards that we were now dinner. I have never experienced such an onslaught of mosquitoes in my life. My legs were on fire and they were even biting thru out clothes. We had to cut our dinner short and have our food bagged up to go and as we were leaving the whole patio was filled with a cloud of deet bug spray from everyone spraying themselves. I realize that a restaurant owner cannot control nature but apparently this happens regularly for them to have that much bug spray on hand. It's just something to consider if you want to brave an evening here. I wish I had known.

Yelp
Drove from dorado today to give this place a try. It was not to bad. View was spectacular and food was not to bad, a little over priced though. I had the creole shrimp and my wife had the shrimp Alfredo. The one complaint is the pasta was quite salty. I would go again and I would try the whole fish dishes. Those looked amazing.
google avatar

Iris O.

Yelp
Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent views. Eat indoors with A/C or outdoors al fresco. They prepared an outstanding freshly caught red snapper. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mofongo was too salty and the staff couldn't understand plain grilled shrimp and instead brought out sautéed shrimp smothered in a buttery mixture. Otherwise, top notch.
google avatar

Alexander M.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Salitre. This is probably one of the best spots to have dinner right before sunset. Fish was super fresh and fried to perfection, all the sides were delicious, service was outstanding. I will come back soon. Only 1 hour from San Juan (def worth the drive).

Yelp
Excellent service! The staff is super kind and I loved that the wait was less than we were originally told. It's a great way to manage expectations. The marine sampler was great. I love calamari but this exceeded expectations. Soft and wonderfully flavored. Not chewy or rubbery at all. Highly recommend the mojitos with champagne as it's way better than a regular mojito because it's not as sweet. A little disappointed that the did not have the snapper but the salmon was well cooked. The ribeye was huge and cooked exactly like we wanted it; rare. Everyone enjoyed our meals and I can't say enough good things about the friendly staff. A must go to place to eat.

Yelp
Found this place on a trip to the beach. The mahi mahi was so good! Cooked al ajillo with a mofongo on the side. The mofongo was moist and paired really well with the mahi. Large sized portion of food. Our server was so sweet! She was timely and attentive. The beach view was to die for. Even on a hot day, you can't beat lunch with a view.

Natalia F.

Yelp
La ensalada de pulpo (que era calamar, no pulpo) estaba sin sabor, los tostones no son del país, falta de sazón en la comida... un restaurante que esta frente al mar y el único pescado fresco que tenían era Sierra... no volvemos!
google avatar

Alvaro G.

Yelp
Amazing place to eat, relax and enjoy the view. Appetizers were excellent, fresh fish cooked to perfection and yuca mofongo was excellent. We finish our lunch with a fresh café con leche de Puta madre, that's the name of the coffee brand
google avatar

Nat C.

Yelp
No recomiendo este lugar. La comida está muy condimentada. Me enfermé del estómago. Además la mesera era ruda y sin modales con mala actitud. Había muchas moscas en el área de nuestra mesa. No vale la pena ir. I don't recommend this place. The food is too seasoned and salty. I got sick after I ate that crap. The waitress had a really bad attitude. There were also many flies around our table. Don't go there.
google avatar

Taty R.

Yelp

Shelby J.

Yelp
Views from this place are amazing! Staff was friendly and made us feel welcomed We dined on the patio for a lite lunch, absolutely beautiful! The empanadas were delicious, I highly recommend them as a starter or meal!

Yelp
9/10. Good service. Quality drinks. Great food. Very nice view. Definitely east outside of available.

Yelp
The restaurant was part of a villa-restaurant operated by the same husband-and-wife owner team. Decor: seaside restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating. Located right at the beachhead. Service: attentive, friendly and considerate. Recommended that we order one-portion paella instead of two so that we could enjoy our additional lobster. A lot of people, so took quite a while to deliver our entrees (about 10-15 minutes). Food: Excellent food. Starter-fried mahi-mahi fillet. Hot, creamy, fresh. Entree-we had a lobster and languistine paella and a grilled whole lobster of 1.44 pounds. The paella tasted nice, the rice not too mushy and not overly crunch, with perfect seasoning. Creamy lobster tails and languistine included. The grilled lobster is a must-have. A whole Atlantic lobster cut in half and grilled with simplest seasoning of butter, parsley and flavor. Tasted fresh out of the sea with a nice bite. Side dishes of sweet potato fries and Caesar salad were both good. Drinks-delicious cocktails. Overall: Five stars, recommended for everyone hands down. Also, the guest house is a nice villa with spacious rooms, a swimming pool, a nice sea view, and two extremely adorable and friendly cats! Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a stay near Arecibo.

Yelp
I must say that this was our second visit. It all comes down to the food and the view(location), you are going to pay for it so, it is what it is. The thing that makes Salitre different is the Mofongo with yuca, I have to say that this time it was not as good as the first time. It was so good the first time that we talked about it for months. I'm not saying it was bad, it was delicious but it was not a "Wow, delicious bring me another one, and one to go as well". We walked in just before rush hour, I guess, without a reservation and they had a table of 4 with an amazing view. The staff was great, everything was clean. The indoor sitting was very nice, the weather was awesome so the outdoor sitting was the way to go(all they had for us anyway lol). We had the empanada stuffed with mahi mahi, it was a good appetizer... 3 small empanadas but very delicious. FYI, Another table ordered a seafood sample platter and they were all saying that it was good. The Mofongo with shrimp was great. The catch of the day was very good. The kids ordered ribeyes, outstanding....the kids were in heaven. The frapes were delicious: Mango was the best. Also the strawberry with passion fruit very good. The passion fruit juice was for sure natural. Our total was $174.00 (no tip) on the expensive side. 2 steaks, 1 fried fish, 1 mofongo con camarones. 6 frapes, 1 juice, 1 bottle of water. I recommend this place for romantic dates, families, families with little kids, business meals, handicapped people can enjoy the restaurant and food as well. After you eat, you can walk along the shore, it is beautiful and y'all should visit the light house and "la posita del obispo", it is a less than 10min drive and has amazing cliff views and the waves and rocks provide a beautiful scenery. FYI, the owner has a rental property next door (it seems nice) They also have their own boats to catch their fish.

Yelp
Ambience receives a 5 . The Mahi Mahi was grilled with garlic butter and perfect with a salad and a side of french fries.

Yamira A.

Yelp
Buena paella, bebidas, vista y agradable ambiente familiar. Gracias por el servicio. Recomendado.
google avatar

Cassandra W.

Yelp
Delicious food & right on the water Our server was super helpful with recommendations. Hearing the sounds of the waves crashing on shore while eating is always amazing.

Luis R.

Yelp
La comida fue espectacular y la vista igual. El pescado fresco y buenísimo. Aperativos fueron variado y delicioso.

Ovidio T.

Yelp
I had the blackened tuna with a salad, just great. My wife had a "asopao" she said it was also great!
google avatar

Haolun L.

Yelp
Unbeatably ocean view. Listening to the tides and drinking mojito? And the seafood is perfect. Also had the Marine sampler. The entrees themselves are great already but the sides? I don't like beans, but this chickpeas are just so well made
google avatar

Farah A.

Yelp
Amazing view, amazing staff, amazing food. Must try seafood Paella. Super delicious. Very good about cleaning and sanitation due to covid. Highly recommend.
google avatar

John P. S.

Yelp
Due to Covid restrictions you have to make a reservation before hand, the menus are laid out on a board that the waitress brings out and they have one per table. It's been years since I've been to the restaurant and they have expanded now they have tables on the shoreline and you have amazing views of the Arecibo lighthouse. The service was quick and the food exquisite, I had a mahi mahi paired with a red wine sauce. Would recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Rico or just a locals.
google avatar

Mildred R.

Yelp
While staying in a nearby hotel we decided to come have a nice dinner here since the reviews on Yelp were good. You have the option of eating indoors or out. We opted for outside. My boyfriend ordered the fish (you get to choice your fish) of the day and I had a monfongo seafood stew. Wow! Food was delicious and fresh. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Although, the restaurant is on the romantic side with beautiful views I still have a hard time referring to it as "upscale". Chairs and some tables were plastic, like the ones used in backyards. The offer private dining room for large parties. I gave it a solid four stars because regards of the furniture, the food and people were great.
google avatar

Soki R.

Yelp
Farce...oh what a farce...restaurant on the beach with a horrible menu. Made reservations a week ago at this restaurant for today. There were 6 people in our party. After we all chose from the huge menu, pages and pages tacked on a board (which was OK) and placed on a chair, NOTHING we ordered from the menu was available except for one person's salmon. NO FISH available at this restaurant. No arroz manposteado. The prices were ridiculous for what they DID have when taking into consideration there was very, very, very little seafood to choose from. So, after we all chose from the menu and 5 of us had to choose again, the waitress comes back, and tells us again that our second choices were not available either. We literally had to go with churrasco, which we could have gotten anywhere and at better prices. Lesson learned. Will not return.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Great oasis in Arecibo! We dined outside and the Oceanfront view was spectacular! Had the seafood stuffed Dorado with a side of rice and beans. Both food and service were awesome!
google avatar

Dana E.

Yelp
This was my second time to awesome place. This time I shared it with my family.We.started with some nice frozen drinks a banana daiquiri with 151 and some pina coladas.Next we had the seafood paella with tostenes and a yucca mofungo. The owner and the staff are very friendly. They speak wonderful english and spanish. If you are in the area I highly reccomend this restaurant.
google avatar

Adaliz R.

Yelp

Jorge R.

Yelp
Although far from the bustle of San Juan, this restaurant is a gem. But before I forget, the first thing is to ask for one of their famous mojitos (made with cava instead of lemon and water) actually the first thing is to make reservations, preferably outside, where you can enjoy the sea breeze and the excellent dishes they prepare.
google avatar

Daniel V.

Yelp
Excelente Food an services with safety protocols and social distances. Make sure you make reservation.
google avatar

Yanitza B.

Yelp
This place was amazing! We ate here after Cueva Ventana and before Cueva del Indio. I got the shrimp mofongo, and it was sooo delicious! Their drinks were good too, but unfortunately they did not have mojitos available when we went. My mom recommended this place and said the mojitos were amazing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is nice because you're RIGHT on the beach. Great service, too! Definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Roger B.

Yelp
Amazing views, great PR food, friendly service, outdoor or indoor seating, plenty of parking.
google avatar

Gilda P.

Yelp
HORRIBLE experience and WORST customer service from the manager. The food in the sampler appetizers did not taste fresh at all and it took 2 HOURS for lunch to be served and even then they missed or forgot 2 dishes. After we paid, I went to talk to the manager or cashier, whoever it was collecting checks and mentioned the lenghty wait. The staff member, instead of apologizing said I was wrong and that the kitchen was working great and it took at most 1 hour. I asked him to check our order and the time, pointing to our $277 lunch check. He brushed me off and turned away from me to talk to someone else. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you have a customer complaining, why is it so hard to say "So sorry, how can I make it better?" The location IS GOOD and the menu has many good alternatives, however there are many smaller restaurants exactly in the same shoreline

Raul F.

Yelp
Been here many times, food is really good and the view is awesome to say the least. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Peggy a.

Yelp
Still one of my favorites on the north coast. Loved the mahi mahi mofongo which was superb. And of course the coquito tres leche is absolutely DELICIOSO!!!! Service was on point, as well.
google avatar

Sierra W.

Yelp
Buen spot para compartir con amistades. La locación tiene una vista bonita y la comida es muy buena. El único detalle son las plagas en la noche.
google avatar

Ana R.

Yelp
We went for lunch with 3 kids and 3 adults. There's a great kids menu with multiple options.. we opted to order a couple of appetizers and one main entree to share - tapas style. The waitress was super attentive and made great suggestions. The kids loved playing in the outside area where we sat down beach front. The food was great, my favorite being the sampler that has calamari, mahi Mahi nuggets and the best coconut shrimp. Would go back again whenever in the area. Also got a free virgin piña colada by checking in on yelp and it was delicious!
google avatar

Jie R.

Yelp
Good food, very nice sea view!!! Very busy Waiting time was long... The famongo is one of the best, especially the crab one. The shrimp in the seafood paella is a little bit disappointing because it's not fresh. Recommend this restaurant if you just fish the cave tour. (About 10 min drive)
google avatar

Armando O.

Yelp
Not much to say other than the customer service was absolutely awesome. The food was not only visibly gorgeous but it was delicious. The view, can't say enough about it. The temperature, freaking perfect.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Came here with my family while on vacation. My oh my service was excellent food was incredible and the views were magnificent. My grandfather always eats here and raves about this place. So I gave it a try. Restaurant great fir a seafood lover. They also have poultry and steak options. Food was flavorful and fresh. I loved the fact that there not rushing you out after a meal or rushing you through the meal as many restaurants do in New York. The waitresses treat you like family as well as the owner. A must go when in Puerto Rico especially if ur in the area.
google avatar

Ivan M.

Yelp
The view in the back is great and the service was excellent. I got a mixed dish with different seafood and I got sick from it. Asides from that place is nice. It's big and lots of servers helping. I hope it was a one time incident.
google avatar

Silvia R.

Yelp
Amazing view, good service and the food is everything we expected. This location is beautiful. You can see the light house on your left and a few bodies of land on the right. There is a small beach to the left of the restaurant but La Poza del Obispo is near.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
Awful ! Service and long waiting times !! 12 tables open ! Ready to be seated ... and 2+hours of waiting time !!

Sylvia M.

Yelp
This restaurant employees were rushing us through lunch. And brought us the check and insisted us to pay and leave as the table reservation had arrived. Can you Believe it. NEVER going back! Rude and disrespectful service.
google avatar

Felipe A.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped for appetizers on a Saturday afternoon. The place is very nice and clean. The service was very on point. However, we ordered the mahi mahi appetizer, coconut shrimps and the stuffed tostones. Sad to say the fish was over cooked, no flavor absolutely not edible. Ate the 3 pieces that were not overcooked. McDonald's fish sandwich is better. The stuffed tostones were tasteless. The frozen coconut shrimp were the only plate that was OK. Told the waitress about the food and the owners never even tried to find out why we left half of the food. Better luck next time. Never again on my part.
google avatar

Belkis R.

Yelp
Best seafood in Puerto Rico! From the moment you walk in you are welcomed and taken care of. Every single staff member is absolutely nice, friendly and attentive. The food is out of this world and you cannot go wrong with their seafood soup and grilled octopus. Will definitely come back. Jennifer or server made this Sunday lunch absolutely unforgettable. Great seafood restaurant with amazing staff.
