Salling Aarhus

Really impressed by the amazing rooftop garden with green spaces and viewing platforms on the roof of the building. They even have Jazz Concerts here! And you get a wonderful view of the city and the harbor. The cafe can be pricey but entry is free and no purchase is required, if you'd rather not.

We were surprised at the wonderful rooftop experience we had. We saw the platform that sticks out over the street but the rooftop offers way more than a walk that platform. We recommend making the trip up there. We also did a fair amount of shopping in the store. we did not eat in any of the restaurants.

I visited “The Terrace” in Aarhus and was truly impressed by the beautiful atmosphere on the top floor. The large terrace with its garden, lovely music, and café is a real gem, located right above the city center. There are plenty of comfortable benches where you can relax and enjoy the view and ambiance. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place – perfect for relaxing and spending quality time with friends.

General store that is not any general store in addition to have all the est known brand in clothes, bags, beauty product and else, there is an incredible and immense rooftop with bar, restaurant, event stage, etc; with several level and little corner where you can rest on relax furniture.

We visited Aarhus for the day while on a cruise, and Salling Rooftop Café was one of the best surprises of our stop! After hearing about it and seeing a few mentions online, we made our way over—and we’re so glad we did. This spot is an absolute must-see if you’re in the city, even just for a few hours. Located right in the heart of Aarhus above the Salling department store, this rooftop space offers breathtaking, panoramic views over the city. And the best part? It’s completely free to access! We especially loved being able to spot our cruise ship from up there—such a cool perspective that really made the experience special. The rooftop is more than just a viewing platform—it’s a thoughtfully designed social space. There’s a café where you can grab a coffee or snack and just relax while taking in the sights. It’s a great place to unwind and soak in the vibe of the city from above. The glass skywalk is definitely not for the faint-hearted, but if you’re brave enough to step out onto it, the view straight down is unforgettable. It adds a little thrill to the otherwise chill atmosphere and makes for some great photo ops. Salling Rooftop Café is clean, modern, and surprisingly peaceful despite being in the middle of the city. Whether you’re visiting Aarhus for a day or longer, this rooftop is a must for the views alone. Don’t miss it!

What a fantastic experience. Whilst Aarhus might not be the 'go-to' place in Denmark, it does have its fair share of beautiful gems. One includes the rooftop cafe/garden at the Salling shopping centre. The venues are brilliant and with it being so open, you can feel the wind. A brilliant evening.

An incredible view over the city from the rooftop terrace, for free. During the winter months you can also enjoy the pretty lights, but sadly they close in the summer before it gets dark enough.
