6-21-25 On a Positive Note: The shrimp scampi pizza was yummy! Pepe’s had a line out the door, so we decided to give us a try. We were happy we did. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The reason why I only gave it. Four stars is because my mom‘s burrata pizza wasn’t hot, but we didn’t complain. The service was great. I ordered the olive oil cake to go. It looked averaged, due to being wrapped to go but the taste was perfect. (I tried it as soon as I reached home.) The cake wasn’t too sweet and it was moist. Our server explained that it is made with olive oil instead of eggs. The Verdict: We will be back soon. A Daily Diner 😋

We absolutely loved the pizza at Sally’s — it’s definitely something to try if you’re a fan of thin, crisp crusts. The style reminded us of Roman pizza: light, airy, and full of flavor with just the right amount of chew. The classic mozzarella and tomato pie had a beautiful balance of ingredients. While the crust was slightly more charred than we’d prefer, it still delivered on taste and texture. The standout for us, though, was the potato and rosemary — simple, savory, and perfectly executed.

I’ve been wanting to come here to see the comparison to New Haven. Sally’s is my favorite apizza. The location is beautiful. The staff was kind. We sat at the bar. The pizza is definitely not the same, it wasn’t bad just different. I would still drive to New Haven 😂

Google
Run don’t walk for Sally’s pizza! We loved our experience, our server Brandon was great. Checked in on us and made sure we always had water. We ordered the Caesar salad which was perfect and we enjoyed the pickled onion in the salad. The meatballs had the great sauce. Pizza was by far the star of the show. We got the tomato pie which is great if you don’t like greasy overly cheesy pizza. They also have on the table Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper on the table so you have everything you need. If you like New Haven pizza you must try it.

Google
Delicious classic New Haven-style coal-fired pizza with a thin, charred, crispy, chewy crust. Wine selection is surprisingly great for a pizza joint. Sally’s is known for their tomato sauce so I recommend something like the Firebird over the clam pizza. In my opinion, Frank Pepe’s makes a better, lighter, more aromatic clam pizza, but the red sauce pizzas are better at Sally’s.

We ordered ahead on the phone for pickup in 45minutes. The girl taking our order was great and clear and patient. We walked in for pickup and got our pizza right away. We ate it in the car and WOW!!!! It was just as we hoped. We chose this place driving through CT because of Dave Portnoy and his pizza reviews. We got the regular pie with added pepperoni, hot honey and ricotta. It was $40...which is a lot for a 16 inch. I would have liked the pepperoni to be more equally distrubuted since I paid close to $5 for them. But the crust crunch was amazing! Love a wood fired oven. The pizza was hot and delicious!!

Google
Their pizza is really authentic and tasty, and a great representation. The salad looked amazing, but the chicken was too spicy, and there was too much vinegar in the salad

Google
Had a great time. We ordered the Summer Scampi Pizza, chopped salad, crispy calamari. The food was delicious and our server Sarah was very friendly and attentive. Thank You so much.

Yelp
Good spot for good pizza. Our usual go to. Lines get long on the weekend but it is a really good meal!!! Service has been solid every time we have gone!

Yelp
We visited this spot before their original location. The place itself were nice but the food were horrible. The pizza were pretty much burned and cold. It's like eating a burned left over pizza. If you want to try Sally's, please visit their original location. The food there is much better.

Yelp
Second Sally's I've been to. The only entrance is in the back with the parking structure. Which is bizarre as it hugs the sidewalk and highly visible. Great pizza, but this location left the pizza in a few seconds too long. I love well done crust, but this was a smidge burnt. Delicious none the less.

Yelp
First time at Sally's Apizza I drove 45 minutes away and the wait was 1hour and on top of it all my wings were raw I would never recommend this place to people never go to Sally's the staff was not attentive at all the first thing they tell u is the waiting time and not even a good evening So sad bad for business my lost I will never go again. Happy New Years 2025

Yelp
Management needs to better train the hostess who needs hospitality lessons for sure. The waitstaff was pleasant and attentive, the pizza is way overpriced and over sauced for the price, one salad, one large pizza and two fountain sodas should not cost $60, the salad was a mess whole lettuce that was not romaine, iceberg or field greens, one whole lettuce leaves, mushy tomatoes canned olive slices. I will NEVER go back just because of the rude gal at the hostess desk. Do yourself a favor and go to Pepe's down the street.

Yelp
First time eating at Sally's! My fiancé and I came for our anniversary during lunch time and the service was great! Nice modern spacious location with ample parking. We came specifically to this location because the New Haven one does not have the Calabrian stinger pie. We love all things with Calabrian chillies. Pizza had the classic char and held up- did not get soggy like other thin pizzas. Olive oil cake is also lovely- order it even if you are full!

Yelp
This was our first time eating here and I loved it. We ordered a large pizza pie. Half cheese and half pepperoni. The pizza was delicious. I loved the crust and sauce. We also ordered an appetizer, the mozzarella sticks. They were nice and crispy and the sauce was perfect. We will definitely be back for other options. The service was excellent, the waitress was very nice and had a great attitude.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying that I love Sally's. I was hopeful that the parking situation would be less confusing and I was sorely disappointed. However, once inside, I was greeted warmly and our server was great. Something that makes this location special is their lunch specials. For $15.75, we got a small pizza and unlimited fountain soda. It's all pizzas! They also have sandwiches on there too and other great items on their full menu. The restaurant is spacious and seating is comfortable. The pizza had the same Sally's taste with that delicious tomato sauce. I'll definitely be back to this location.

Yelp
1st time here and met a friend for dinner. Wait was 40-45 minutes despite people without reservations were seated before us. We ended up sitting at the bar area. Service was attentive however food wasn't great. My Caesar Salad was dry had to ask for more dressing to give it more flavor. My pizza arrived looking like it went to a tanning salon and was in too long. The crusts were burnt, bottom charred and the cheese way overcooked. There was seriously no pleasure in eating my pizza and from the reviews I read about Sally's it supposed to be amazing.... Not so much. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere instead.

Yelp
Recently checked out the FFLD location of Sally's. My fiancé surprised me and chose it because they have things other than just pizza and salad at this location. We ended up going around 8 (had resos). It was a Fri night and this place was very dead which was a little weird. Anyways... we started with their fried mozz. Delicious! Crispy! Light! And came with a vodka sauce. None of the entrees looked appealing so I opted for the firebird pizza and my fiancé his normal plain Jane cheese pizza. My pizza was tasty and he enjoyed his as well. I do have to say our server was fantastic! And staff so friendly here!

Spencer E.

Yelp
It has been a long time since I had Sally's NH but it was excellent in the past. Tried the Fairfield location and we were disappointed. Order a white clam + shrimp, an expensive pie, but it wasn't good. Not really generous with the topping for the price. Pepe's makes this pie to perfection. Seems like a corporate run chain now given their expansion. Two other pies were just ok. Pepe has expanded as well but the Fairfield location does a great job. Maybe we caught Sally's on a bad night or maybe it just a typical pizza chain now.
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
Every time we stop in CT we make sure to stop at Sally's! We ordered online and the fact they had a separate area for take out pick up was simply marvelous because it was just a quick in and out! The staff were extremely pleasant and the pizza was ready in the time they said it would be.
google avatar

Tom P.

Yelp
Great pizza and other offerings on the menu, service was excellent, pizza was outstanding, bit pricey
google avatar

Nisha P.

Yelp
They have a $10 off when you order online but the cashiers couldn't figure out how to apply it - so they deducted it anyway (thank you!). The pizzas were really delicious- pricier & smaller than Frank Pepe. The parking is a little tricky as it's mostly reserved and when I went the other spots were full, the take out only section is helpful though.

Max B.

Yelp
I was waiting to pick up an Uber order for a customer and people were MAD. Someone people have been waiting two hours for order. Absolutely ridiculous. Staff doesn't wear gloves either close down the place
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, clean restaurant and nice server. I didn't realize they had a lunch special and he still put it on my check as such so that the drink would be included. That's the type of guy who the crappy boss may hate but the customers will keep coming back for, good job man. Pizza was awesome but the clam pizza needed a little something extra. Pinch of salt, something, but was great still. Came here because of the Prez

Yelp
Want to see what all the fuse was about so we decided to give Sally a try. The original Sally's is in New Haven, but we went to the Fairfield location. It's a larger, more modern restaurant, and it has parking. The pizza underwhelmed us, we tasted too much of that burnt taste. The pepperoni was tasty, the sausage not so much. The staff was young, but attentive and polite. There were a couple of TV's, but I'm my opinion they could use some more. It wasn't for us, but Sally's has been around since 1938 so they're doing something right.
google avatar

Lucy N.

Yelp
My family and I had a great experience at Sally's for dinner tonight! The service was impeccable, and our waitress was more than happy to share some backstory on Sally's before taking our order. Our food and drinks were brought out quickly. Not only were our pizzas delicious, but our waitress was kind enough to bring us an entire extra pizza that they had sitting around along with the pizzas we ordered. Leftovers for days! Will definitely be coming back to Sally's in Fairfield.
google avatar

Vicki F.

Yelp
Pretty much the same as any place that delivers. Crust was crispy but that's where the good ended. Sauce was bland, cheese was barely there with no crunch or string to it. The pepperoni was good quality which added a bit of flavor to the otherwise flavorless pie. Sad because I loved their pizzas before they started mass producing.
google avatar

Sojin P.

Yelp
Food: Sally's may be my favorite pizza place in CT if not ever! Get the onion and pepperoni on a tomato pie! Service: Great service! Ambiance: The new haven location is more quaint with a hole in the wall vibe, but the Stamford location definitely feels new and hoppin!

Ryan S.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this location does not even remotely compare to the original New Haven location and it is outrageously overpriced. Got 2 larges (one had pepperoni and other just cheese) and one medium plain red (no cheese) with 2 sodas and it was $114.00. Showed up early to pick it up and it was cold. This was the third time giving it a try and it was the third time it disappointed.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
I thought the pizza tasted great, but my sister, partner, and I had to wait outside for 3 hours before eventually getting seated, so eating late at night while very hungry influenced my overall experience. I would come back again but would order take-out because the pizza texture was good but not worth waiting more than an hour for.

Shelley S.

Yelp
Decent pizza. Ordered one w lots of meat. It was expensive. 15 mins late. Delivered cold.
google avatar

Brian P.

Yelp
Been wanting to go here for a while and it didn't disappoint. Ambiance was not great but it's OK. We, three of us, got a large cheese pizza to share. It took a little longer than expected to arrive (as the restaurant wasn't that busy). It was good though with a crispy crust. We only ate half of it and enjoyed the other half the next day.
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
Went to the original years ago and it was great! This pie was crazy expensive, tasted of cheap sauce/paste and cheese and had the worst crust - over charred. Brussels dish was also over charred and over oiled.
google avatar

Debbie K.

Yelp
Service not good. Server after we ordered a pizza- did not take order of the rest of the table, then we had to ask for desert 4 times before it was brought out (after the check). Pizza burnt tasting and not even average. Salad big and fresh but basically a pile of romaine. Ambience is hip.

Alice D.

Yelp
I've only eaten in the restaurant once. We had a tomato pizza which was delicious! Picked up a cheese pizza was also delicious! Tonight I picked up the charred brussel sprouts which were wonderful and cooked exactly as I like them. I didn't enjoy the meatballs - the consistency was just right (not dry or tightly packed). However they were bland, bland, bland! The garlic bread was buttery and nicely toasted, but couldn't smell or taste even a hint of garlic and whatever they added to the bread was spicy hot - I had to keep taking sips of soda to stop the burning. Yelp
My only complaint is that service is slow . Everything else was great. Clean, ambiance is cool, food was purposeful and tasty. Garlic shrimp were really good and the portion was very generous . Pizza was nice and thin and good! Pleased with the food. I'm def going to return . Love the decor in the establishment as well

Yelp
Sally's is my favorite pizza! Was planning to go to the one in New Haven but it was way too busy so I came to the one in Fairfield. The other Frank Pepe's locations not in new haven are no good, so I wasn't sure if this Sally's would be good, but it def was! Tastes almost as good as the new haven location. The mozzarella is the best, and I got the large for $30. It wasn't super busy, but we still had to wait around 30 minutes for it (we got it to go). This location is nicely decorated, clean, and modern too.

Edward S.

Yelp
If you're looking for the quintessential New Haven pizza experience, skip this location for now. Either go to Pepe's down the street or head up to New Haven for any of the original locations but as of now the Fairfield location just doesn't have their act together. I've dined in and had take out twice and each time it's been less than acceptable. I can forgive, waiting an extra 30 minutes for my pizza to be ready but what I cannot forgive is poor pizza quality. I've had what I can only call is a dry pizza and I've also had a traditional tomato and mozzarella pizza with virtually no cheese on it to the point where the next time I ordered a pizza with extra cheese and essentially got the same damn thing again a pizza with a little to no cheese on it, I never order extra cheese.... Take out staff is completely overwhelmed and I can only assume the same for the pizza making My suggestion is to wait till 2025 before trying them again because they need some time to figure things out Note image is for an extra cheese pizza ....it's ridiculous
google avatar

Yelp
In the mood for Sally's but didn't want to risk having to stand outside in hot humid weather so instead of going to the New Haven location which is 25 minutes away, we drive 40 minutes to Fairfield. This location has plenty of parking and the ambiance is much nicer. Had a small New Haven pie and a large mozzarella, sausage, pepperoni pizza. Delicious! Just as good as the New Haven location. Service was great. Will be back!

Cathy K.

Yelp
Pick up service is terrible. I tried three times to order pick up and each time the pizza was not ready and would need additional 30 to 45 to complete the order ... this place is not for me .

David B.

Yelp
Incredible pizza but service was the worst I've had in many years. We had a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time - we did get some tokens to comp our drinks which was nice. We ordered a large plain pizza and a small meatball. The second pizza did not come out until 30 min after the first one - even after asking our waiter multiple times where the other pizza was. We got a quasi-apology but nothing more. Pizzas were delicious - probably my favorite even in an area with Colony Grill, Pepe's, and Pizza Lyfe. Great flavor, perfect char. Meatball pizza was especially delicious - thinly sliced unlike any other meatball pizza I've had before. However, would never dine here again with the horrific service - would probably just do takeout.

Yelp
First time trying Sally's in Fairfield. Overall decent, a little cookie cutter for the sauce but consistent. Staff was attentive for our semi large group and the inside ambiance was welcoming with a sweet pizza smell.
google avatar

Luke A.

Yelp
Sally's Apizza in Fairfield is outstanding. Their pizza is delicious, but sometimes contains too much sauce. The waiters are aware of this, and always warn me about this, and ask if I would like extra cheese to balance it out. The restaurant is decorated nicely, and is extremely welcoming.

Ken H.

Yelp
This is my last Sally's experience- I'm not even a fan of their pizza. Waited over 75 minutes from time of phoned on order. This is so not worth it. Too many other options. Disorganized and mediocre pizza

Terence F.

Yelp
took forever to provide my takeout order, citing the pizza was in the oven but it came out cold. bad service every single time

Dave B.

Yelp
$81 for two 1-topping pizzas that took an hour (rather than the 45-minutes quoted) PLUS TIP! Fool me once Shane on you, fool me twice, shame on me. This is just bonkers, I'm not sure a there's a pizza on the planet worth nearly 50-bucks with tip...THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT IT. Sadly my last visit to a legend
google avatar

Ules D.

Yelp
Waited outside for an hour, but that's expected. Is the pizza worth it? Yes. ATMOSPHERE : 3/5: it's nostalgic. It's not a fancy, pretty, updated place, but it has its own vibe and we like that. I love that nothing has been changed here. Not the furniture or picture frames, and it's like going to your grandmothers house. It gives that homey vibe. You can come in sweat pants and be fine. FOOD: 5/5. White clam and the pepperoni are what we come for. COCKTAILS: table wine or beer. You don't come for the drinks.
google avatar

Ginger H.

Yelp
Front of the house service was fast and staff was pleasant. We ordered two pies, one small and one medium (bacon and onion/ mushroom and onion). The server delivered two small pies, both unevenly cooked and burned. She explained that these were "New Haven" style pies, and this is how they are baked and served. If I wanted a medium pie, she would order one for me and I could take it home. The cooks were very young, clearly inexperienced and having a grand old time chatting it up and goofing off. There is an art to using a wood-fired oven. They haven't come close to mastering it. I have been eating at Sally's in New Haven since the 1960's and am well acquainted with New Haven style pies and these were just burnt. We'll certainly give it another try after a few weeks to let them get a bit more established, but for almost fifty bucks, I expect a lot more quality control.
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
We tried Sally's in Fairfield for the first time tonight based on "good name," and we were hugely disappointed. The high price was a total shock as the quality nowhere near matched cost. But what surprised us the most was how BLACK was the bottom of our pizza. We barely made it through one slice and tossed the rest in the trash. Such waste. Check the photos. This can't be how they serve all their pizzas, can it? Who's eating pizza like this?

Brian D.

Yelp
Love this place. Great service, food and ambience. Enjoyed the appetizers and pizza varieties.

Christopher D.

Yelp
Sally's Apizza in Fairfield is the latest location of this legendary pizza empire. Being one of the holy 3 (Pepe's, Sally's & Modern) you are guaranteed to have some of the country's best New Haven style pizza. The classic cheese and red pie are great, but if you are looking for something different and healthier, definitely try the "Garden Special" pie, which may be the best veggie pizza I have ever had. If you are looking for something with a little more kick, try the "Firebird" pizza, topped with grilled chicken and hot cherry peppers. No matter what you order, you will LOVE the food and friendly customer service Sally's offers 7 Days a week.
google avatar

Iceburg S.

Yelp
Nothing like New Haven at all.... Too modern, sauce too pastey. Need to rethink this modern feel, it's not who Sally's is. Stay classic and tru. So much to be proud of as an old school traditional pizza joint with so many accolades. See what Pepe's is doing and repeat. Don't cheat your past history. It's legendary
google avatar

Alexandra R.

Yelp
Sally's is hands down one of New Haven's most iconic pizza shops. I ordered a large half cheese and half pepperoni pizza over-the-phone. The employee was very nice and pleasant to speak with. When arrived at Sally's, the pizza was already boxed up and ready-to-go. I really enjoyed the traditional white interior of the pizza shop along with the gargantuan wood-fire oven. The shop is very neat, clean, and tidy.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
Very nice new place. Offshoot from the original in New Haven. Thin crust pizza is their thing so we stuck with that. Clam was delicious. I'd skip the soggy brussel sprouts.
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
Good pizza and nice to have them in Fairfield but they certainly don't have their take out process running very well. Time estimates for pizza's are way off. Don't necessarily believe what they tell you when you call. Pepe's is far better at estimating take off. Again, decent pizza but don't count on an accurate estimate for take out.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
This is for the Fairfield restaurant. Many other reviews here are for New Haven store. Beware there's a huge difference in every aspect. We waited over an over an hour after we sat down for pizza. The white clam pizza is bland and tasteless and the margarita pizza is just edible. Worst white clam pizza ever. A sin in Connecticut. The nightclub/music atmosphere is more distracting than cool. The table next to us was also complaining about their bad pizza. The only redeeming part of the night was the nice server who apologized for our bad and delayed pizza. Avoid this pizza joint.
google avatar

William R.

Yelp
As you can see in the reviews, this is a pretty controversial extension of the famous Sally's in New Haven. We went in totally blind, having not seen the Yelp reviews - and I'm glad we did! We actually got an amazing pie!! The time estimate given on the phone was accurate and the pie turned out a perfect reproduction of New Haven apizza (which is apparently pronounced "a-beetz"). We wanted a margharita but they don't have it on the menu. The person on the phone was helpful and gave us a suggestion of a similar pizza. It was white sauce (a.k.a. olive oil), fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil and mozzarella. We added pepperoni as well. The pie was godly. I thought I'd be missing the red sauce but the generous amount of tomatoes provided plenty of tomato flavor. Going back to the tumultuous Yelp reviews for this satellite Sally's... I say go find out for yourself! We need more great pizza in this area and I'm sure they are working hard to work out the kinks!
