Loved the town of Ketchikan, Alaska! Beautiful colored buildings and walkable streets with visitor friendly signs for directions. We had a lunch of Alaskan King crab legs and Dungeness crab. A must try while in Alaska! Walked down to Creek Street downtown with the little shops built right over the salmon stream. Just a Beautiful place!

We got here after open to closed gates. The owner came out to let us know they had staffing issues but would take care of us in a few minutes. Since the reviews were so good, we decided it was worth waiting…and it was! We shared the salmon lox bagel (which was delicious), then tasted our way through the gift shop, where the hospitality was amazing. If you go on a cruise or are in the area, I would highly recommend stopping here.

So glad we stepping into this little market area. There were a handful of small shops. It was a cute spot that offered a variety of salmon items. They allowed us to taste several products. They were knowledgeable about the products and very friendly. Reindeer sausage, And other jerky stuff. But they also offer fresh made sandwiches- delicious! Fresh salmon. And seating area to enjoy your food items.

Highly recommend coming here when in Ketchikan. Solid everything bagel with exceptional Alaskan smoked belly lox. The addition of lemon EVOO to the standard cream cheese, onion, capers, and arugula livened it up even more. Very friendly service too.

A nice place, great lay out but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for your Coho and trout. It ain't cheap. You can get a can of Coho free if you buy 3 cans at a price of $28 each. I'll stick to my Star Kissed Tuna

I got a lox bagel from here and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The salmon was super fresh!! The inside of the establishment looked like it’s scene better days, but don’t let that deter you! Food was great! The staff inside was super helpful and kind. We went while in port from our cruise ship. It was maybe a 5 minute walk from the main cruise port.

I’m so upset. My boyfriend and I visited while on a stop for a cruise and brought over $100 worth of product. I am home and opened the packaging on the sockeye and coho smoked salmon and the salmon is spoiled and has worms. I’m so disgusted I do not trust or want to open any of the other products we bought from them. I want a refund but can’t reach a live person! *** update 5/20/2024. I just received an update that the company left a review stating that it was an industry attack in regard to comment I left 2 years ago. This is NOT a fake review.

Found this great little shop on a cruise stop to Ketchikan. Stopped in to have a couple of bagels and loved it so much I had to order something when we got home. My son was looking for a souvenir from Alaska and what better option than the beautiful wooden boxes with smoked salmon inside. I ordered one for myself as well. They arrived very quickly and we got two different patterns on the boxes which are gorgeous! We will definitely be ordering again.

If you like salmon, this is a good store to stop by. They have an extensive selection of salmon goods except for fresh salmon. They also offer other canned goods such as octopus, scallop and crab. The shop owner was nice to give out samples of the salmon jerky and smoked salmon. After looking over everything, we ended up buying a package of smoked salmon to take back home.

I had the best lox bagel ever here!!!! It was so delicious, I wished I bought another for later. It was a little pricey but it was worth every penny! Located in a little strip mall with other seafood vendors. The server was friendly and the place was clean. There is a counter with some bar stools to sit on directly outside.

No fresh Salmon, all pre-packaged and will ship free with $250 order, Just For You Deal! Very nice people but not what i was looking for or expected.

Salmon market was by far my favorite place as my family and I did our own unofficial walking tour through town. There are a lot of great things to see in other places, but this is the best place for a cup of coffee and by far the best place that we encountered to buy local smoked salmon and other Alaska delicacies to cram into our suit cases and take back home with us. We got two types of salmon, some pickled seaweed salad, and I don't even remember what else, with the initial intention of sharing these as souvenirs with people we love. Now that I'm home and thinking about my decision to get these things away, I just might keep everything for myself because the salmon that we tasted while we were there was spectacular and I think I love it more than people! I'm definitely a fan and I don't know if I will ever be in that part of the world again but if I am, l'll stock up on their smoked salmon's and other treats. Oh! By the way! I got to sample the reindeer sausage and I just might go back and get some because for a reason that escapes me, I didn't buy it when I had the chance.

Terrible service. I'm not sure if he was the owner or manager but he was rude. He refused to sell to my 78 yo mother asking questions. So disappointing given this is a very busy tourist location. There are other options for tourists to spend their money. I don't recommend this place.

My SMOKED Wild Alaskan KING Salmon Can 6 oz order was a revelation ! I've tried every quality smoked King Salmon can out there and the Salmon Market smoked can bested them all. Not oversmoked and quite moist, not dried out at all. I'll be back for more.

You can't come to Alaska and not bring back smoked salmon! We stopped in here and bought 3 different types and some reindeer sticks. They let us try both before we bought them! I can't wait to make a smoked salmon dip with it!!

We got a smoked salmon cream cheese bagel and a traditional bagel with lox. Both exceptional. It's a bit pricey but after 6 days of cruise food it was a really special treat.

Update: 1 month later, the owner reached out and refunded the extra charge. I wish it didn't take two unanswered phone calls and a negative Yelp review to get their attention, but they have corrected the mistake.

While on a phenomenal Holland America cruise, we made a stop in this port town where I knew I needed to bring home some amazing smoked salmon to continue the vacation when back in my normal life on the East Coast. This wonderful little shop was exactly what I needed! The staff was so friendly and answered my millions of questions about the different types of fish, cooking/smoking styles, how long each option would last, and what could be shipped safely to me if I wanted to order online after I had left. I brought home two different types of fish, and my boyfriend who is from Alaska gave glowing reviews of how delicious they tasted. Definitely recommend!

Our family says "Salmon Market has the best tasting salmon they have ever eaten!" We gave Sockeye in our Christmas basket of Florida oranges. That produced an awesome response from our adult children. My only beef is Salmon Market never provides a coupon when I need it. As a customer who orders $200+ packages they could also ship via FedEx and insure a much better delivery experience! Our preference is for Coho and Sockeye, when they are available. We will take Silver and others if the above are not available. All have proven to have wonderful flavor and texture‼ Keep it up Salmon Market

Wow! Just wow!! I want to move to Alaska just so I can come to this market on a daily basis!!! I wish I could give this store a million stars! It deserves it and exceeds all expectations! Every time we go to Alaska in the summer with the family, we have to stop by this store. It's our family tradition. The CUSTOMER SERVICE is top notch! All the staff members are so accommodating with their recommendations and trying to help you navigate through items in the store. The owner by far is one of the nicest human beings I have ever met! He is so personable and honest! He is such a pleasure to be around! While we were visiting him a few years ago, we noticed other couples taking pictures with him and buying boxes of items to take back home. I immediately thought,"who would go to Alaska every year" and now I know why! It's like a mini reunion when you go to his store with past customers coming back. This store carries the best products in Alaska, so unbelievably fresh and tasty! I tried the fresh smoked salmon from the refrigerator and bought two packets. I finished it all by myself for breakfast in two days!!! (Sorry husband). We got multiples of everything displayed in the pictures and this is all that's left which will be consumed very shortly! We have tried all these before from previous visits and keep adding more to our list of favorite items! The Alaskan kelp pickles are AMAZING!!!! They are so good! We seriously put them on everything and it tastes so much better!!! The Campfire Salsa made from Alaskan kelp makes for a great appetizer! We were hosting friends and they all fell in love with this! They immediately placed their orders online with other items and got free shipping! (Such a great deal) The smoked salmon in the packets made for such a great addition to pasta!!! We used to make it with sausage or diced chicken but it tastes a lot better with GREAT quality salmon!!!! The canned sockeye salmon is one of my favorite snacks on a cracker with creamed cheese! That's all I eat during the day to munch on!!! You have NOT seen Alaska UNTIL you have been to this store! It's Alaska in your mouth! Highly recommend this store!!!!

We were at the Salmon Market in May 2022 from a Celebrity Cruise. The selection and customer service was amazing! They explained the different options and salmon types, offered samples and shipped our purchase home at a great rate. Everything arrived in perfect condition, after being packaged well by them. The quality of the smoked salmon was outstanding! Strongly recommend!! We'll be mail ordering from them in the future.

This was one of the best shops we visited in Alaska that was selling smoked salmon and other Alaskan goods. Plenty of samples were handed out so we were able to try so many different items. We stopped by the cafe next door to try some of the salmon items. If there are any items you want to eat immediately, they help you open any cans or packages and set you up for snacking. There's a large patio area that you can sit at to enjoy your fishy treats too!

A great selection of salmon goods to bring home after you quick stop at Ketchikan. It is great they always have a table in the front of the store to let you try out a variety of their products before buying them! Really enjoyed the reindeer sausage and salmon jerky so my family and I bough a couple back home. They have some deals as well for BOGO free. Nice little shop for edible souvenirs.

Stopped by here to get some smoked salmon, jerky, and dip. The price is a bit high, but I was willing to splurge for some Alaskan salmon to bring back home and send to a couple of friends. The lovely staff quickly helped me finding the one that they served for sample tastings, which was tasty indeed, and wrapped up my order in a box for easy transit. The store has everything and anything salmon, from salmon cavier to a vast variety of canned smoked salmon. Very impressed with the selection. Their space is very small, so I can imagine it can feel crowded with customers. I was there (around 1PM) so be prepared to have patience while you peruse and shop here. I'm glad I made the stop here!

We were on a cruise to Alaska and one of the stops was in Ketchikan, Alaska. While walking through the quaint little town, we bought two cans of smoked King salmon from the Salmon Market. Buying only two cans was a big mistake! When we got home after our trip and tried it, it was so delicious that those two cans were gone in just a few days. I could not believe how good it was. It was meaty, slightly smoky, and had an incredible flavor and texture. After that, I couldn't stop thinking about how good it was and I wanted more. We tried some other canned salmon from the big box store and also from the fancy health food store, but it wasn't even remotely the same. It was watery, kind of mealy and had that fishy taste that I cannot get past. So, I gave little pieces to our kitties as treats. It essentially became cat food. Not being able to stop thinking about the how good the King salmon was and not being able to find it anywhere, I finally got online, signed up with Salmon Market and ordered six cans of the smoked King salmon. In less than a week, the cans arrived. They were packaged very neatly with bubble wrap and a custom box that prevented the cans from being tossed around. With great anticipation, I opened the can and inside were huge chunks of meaty, smoky deliciousness. I whipped up some scrambled eggs, added some freshly chopped chives, creme fraiche and the smoked salmon. We had an epic breakfast. This is hands down the very best canned fish I've ever had. I highly recommend it.

OMG!! The best SALMON in the town definitely. Free samples , free internet, great customer service and the best delicious SALMON. Definitely check it out , easy to find just right straight on Main Street .

Salmon Market in Ketchikan is a fantastic spot for learning about Salmon, tasting their beautifully smoked salmon with some of their incredible kelp pickles (seriously, you'll want a few jars for future snacking) and for getting spectacular customer service. We ended up buying several varieties of the salmon, pickles, salsa and jerky. We had it shipped home and it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. We were also given great tips on ways that we could use the smoked salmon (like in a deviled egg) and other various recipe ideas. We've shared it with friends and family and all agree that this smoked salmon is outrageously delicious. (And the customer service is just an awesome bonus!)

The fish is good (according to samples) but the salesman is such a con :/ We decided to buy 5 of the golden bagged salmon. Out of the 5, he delightfully said he would include 2 COHO in addition to 3 SOCKEYE. We said no, we wanted ALL SOCKEYE. He was really persistent for us to take COHO When we went home and opened our package he had slipped in a COHO. I know we are one time customers but what the f*ck? ****PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY****

We cruised to Alaska last July and happened upon the Salmon Market. Some people bring home trinkets for friends and family. We decided to send Alaskan Salmon home and it was a huge hit. We chose the salmon samplers and kelp pickles: a must try. Our family and friends loved all of it. It was packed perfectly and arrived at our home in California looking as though it was caught, smoked, shipped and received all in the same day. I would recommend the Salmon Market to my best friends and in fact I know some of my friends have purchased salmon based on sampling the salmon we sent home.

The people who work there are so friendly and they let you taste samples. The are so many kinds of great salmon to buy and you are allowed to bring it homw in your suitcase, it;s packed in foil. Also, the kelp pickles are really good.

THIS is the place to go in Ketchikan for Salmon and incredibly friendly, local people. We fell in love with this place right away! Incredible products, great prices, and such a friendly owner and staff. LOVE IT!! So easy to find.

Stopped in Ketchikan during our cruise, we wanted to purchase some local salmon , we tried couple of stores , we ended up buying in this place . They have amazing sockeye and coho salmon, the store is small and crowded but definitely it worths to wait . Deb was an excellent host she gave us several samples we ended up buying a case of products kelp, reindeer , caviar . They offered to ship it free to our house , we had so much fun and our boarding time was coming . The owner offered to give us a ride and he did :) this is a great experience

My wife took an Alaska cruise in 2011 and sent me a salmon sampler from Salmon Market. I have been ordering their salmon ever since. I am 78 years old and have never found smoked salmon this good.

Great Smoked Pink Salmon at a reasonable price. Ketchican can be a tourist trap for cruise goers but Salmon Market just wants to sell a great product at a good price.

My Fiance and I had stopped here for one of our excursions off our Cruise ship stops. She and I were hungry to try some local native food. We ended up buying some Salmon Jerky and it was outstanding, We ended up buying a few packages of it and some smoked salmon to bring back with us back to the Northeast. You will not get any better than this Salmon Market. After a couple weeks home, we ended up ordering an order of more sockeye and king salmon. I've had friends try it and they said, "it was the best smoked salmon they've ever tasted" I totally agree. If you are in the area, it's worth the stop hands down, no doubt

Great place to get smoked salmon. They're obviously catering to the cruise tourists, located so near the port. But they were friendly and giving out ample amounts of samples.

Either racist or horrible service, no returning customer anyway. The fat bald sales guy was helping a customer and I was standing next to the customer. After he answered her question I asked if they had any salmon jerky. He ignored my question and the customer helped me by pointed out the location. I then asked for a jerky sample, he gave me 2 pieces telling me to share with my family, then put the plate away. We had 4 people so I told my wife to grab another one, he had his head down and ignores us completely. I then told my wife "let's go, I don't like him" suddenly he looked up and said what did you say? With a confronting voice. I told him I don't like you, you ignored me many times avoiding helping me. He stated he did not see, I told him he must be blind if I'm standing right in front of him with a big blue jacket. He then yelled F* off to me in front of the entire store and my family. I told him to F* him self and can't believe a business guy would tell his customer to F* off instead of apologizing when he mess up the service. Impressive, you must get a lot of one time business from the ships and don't care about the service quality. Not going to see me again anyway right? Stay away from this place

very professional, customer service was spot on with ordering, the salmon was the absolute best. I've ordered salmon from pikes Peak and I'm sorry to say I have switched to this amazing company.

The big sign out front caught our eye, and the samples available really drew us in. Super friendly staff (the man giving out samples hand fed my husband with a huge smile on his face, it was hilarious). They were happy to explain the difference between the many options available, and offer shipping options. We settled on a vacuum packed smoked salmon that stays good til 2020 and were on our way.

There is nothing better than smoked salmon directly from Alaska. I got several items to make a Christmas basket for those very hard people to buy for but of course I got a little extra to sample. As alway, it is the best smoked salmon ever. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a special gift or for your own pleasure.

In the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, there are a lot of salmon snobs. For most of us outside of that region of the country, we know of farm salmon which is the pink stuff we see at the supermarket. In Alaska, they love their wild salmon and there is a disdain for the inferior farm salmon. Wild salmon is a different color and taste. There are five different types. In my opinion, sockeye salmon is definitely the best of them. The salmon shops feature salmon spreads in a can that go on crackers, bread, etc. You can sample them in the shops. Two great ones are right by the pier after you get off the ship: Salmon Etc. (322 Mission St, Ketchikan, AK 99901) and Salmon Market (200 Main St, Ketchikan, AK 99901). Definitely stop by both and try their samples. We ended up buying some cans of salmon and salmon fish oil. Salmon Etc. also has a great explanation on its website of why Alaska champions wild salmon: "We offer only Alaska wild fish and hand-processed products using soft, natural ingredients. Farmed fish - raised in crowded, restrictive net pens in Europe, South America and some areas of North America, are fed fish meal that can pass on disease - that's part of why antibiotics are so heavily used in fish farms. Farmed fish are genetically weaker than their wild counterparts. Farmed fish have such pale meat that dyes are added to their food to color the flesh. For good reason, Alaskans are down on fish farming and see the up side of harvesting wild, sustainable fish." We stopped in Ketchikan back in 2017 on an Alaskan cruise and bought some salmon at your store. I was so impressed with the variety. I kept the business card and was craving salmon so I went online to your store. Found some deals and some new things to try. Delivery was within just a few days and I was enjoying delicious wild Alaska salmon. Thank you for your quick delivery and preparing so many varieties for me to enjoy! I'll be sure to visit again. The store was recomended by a frıend Who had vısıted Ketchıkan before, so we wanted to see ıt ourselves. It ıs a local store with a great selectıon of Alaskan products. The team members are great all experts İn theır product lines. You will be suprısed to hear the employees speakıng Spanısh to Japanese, Armenıan, Turkısh, Tagalo.. You will meet People from all around the world. We enjoyed the smoked salmon samples and the ambıence. Say Hı to Jacob, he will make sure he will gıve the attention you need. Interesting little salmon market. There are two different salmon markets that I found in this area. Very friendly workers. He explained all the different salmons and then asked us if we wanted a sample. Of course, he made crackers with cream cheese and pink salmon and garlic pink salmon. Really good. He was going to give us a deal for four cans, but I did notice that the more cans you buy the cheaper it gets. We only bought two cans for $8.95 a piece. Smoked salmon goodness in a can. I love it. They also have free shipping. If you want some salmon then this is the place to go. Family owned and operated. Support the locals. Yum yum good

PROS: This place offers an impressive selection of salmon products. Everything that we've tried so far tasted really good. The workers here are super friendly and helpful. CON: Given that the store is located smack dab in the middle of a tourist town, the price is a bit steep.
