Salobre Hotel & Resort Serenity (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Ordinarily it wouldn’t be a recipe for an inspiring or unique hotel experience. Luxury villas by the side of a golf course on the island of Grand Canaria sounds like something from a J.G. Ballard novel, but Villas Salobre shows how it can be done right. Whether you’re a golfer or not, you can’t argue with a spacious, contemporary villa, complete with private cook and waiter, and private pools available on request — as your trusted travel resource we’d advise you to go ahead and request them." - Tablet Hotels

This was an absolutely exceptional stay! Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity exceeded our expectations – especially when it comes to traveling with a small child. The hotel offers fantastic amenities for families – we felt comfortable, safe, and truly cared for. A special thank you to the entire staff – regardless of their role, everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, understanding, and warm towards our child. Often it’s the smiles and kindness of the people that create the atmosphere of a place – and here, you feel it at every step. The food was delicious, with a great variety and high quality. Pools, spa, and cleanliness – all at the highest level. The hotel itself is visually stunning – modern, thoughtful, full of light and greenery. Despite its large size, it feels intimate, and it’s always possible to find a quiet, secluded spot to relax. We will definitely recommend this place to other families with children – and we’re leaving with beautiful memories ourselves.

We have just returned from another perfect stay at Salobre Resort. The rooms continue to be of a high standard and kept meticulously clean by the house keeping team. There is a room fridge but it does not have an ice tray. You can get ice from the bar but we just take a cool bag and get a bag of ice from the local Spar. The huge flat screen tv does have English channels but only BBC1, 2 and ITV 1,2,3 and 4. We use our iPad and an HDMI cable to connect to the tv and use an App Film On which for just over 6 euros gives us access to a wider range of channels and you can also record for later.||Both the breakfast and dinner buffets have a huge selection of beautifully presented and fresh cooked great food to suit all tastes and each evening has a different theme.||The focus of our holiday is the golf. There are 2 on site courses a mature parkland 18 hole Old course and a shorter 9 hole Mountain course. Before Covid the mountain course was 18 hole but when the hotel closed due to Covid, the mountain course was closed as they rely of recycled water from the hotel for irrigation. They have got 9 holes back and it is both challenging and fun to play. The Old course is demanding but very enjoyable to play.||The Hotel does have an App which you can download from the App Store. It might be worth downloading it before you book as it gives you a wealth of info, on the hotel facilities and pools, you can even access menus for the various on site restaurants and also details of the buffet theme nights.||We have been staying at Salobre over the past 10 years and always book direct through the hotel website which even allows you to select and view your own choice of room.||No review can be completed without praising all of the staff who work seamlessly together to ensure that your stay is enjoyable as it possibly can.||We look forward to returning to Salobre once again next year.

My husband and I were looking for a relaxing trip where we didn't leave the resort and for this reason, we did a lot of research ahead of our stay to make sure we got it right.||I am so pleased we found Salobre. This hotel is stunning. It has everything you need, fantastic pools (plenty to choose from), lovely rooms and incredible food, we had a stunning massage at the spa and spent a lovely afternoon relaxing there. Just on the food- we loved the themed nights a the buffet and really rated the for full board, we could order quite a few things from the menu and had choice in where we ate.||There are plenty of sun loungers and beds on the top floor too, none of this saving sun loungers at 6am! ||A big highlight for us was the staff. Every person from the waiters to cleaners to pool side assistants were beyond helpful and friendly. |||The only very small thing I would change was that as a pregnant woman, I wanted to keep hydrated during my trip and the tap water tasted horrible and I was a bit dissapointed to find that bottled water costs over 5 euros. I think it would be good to have water stations with reusable cups around the pool areas as I had a bottle I was desperate to fill up. I eventually found one in the gym on the 11th floor, but a bit of a faff to keep going up to refill! My husband and I also said it would be good for the pool bars to be open later as there were a few occasions when we were relaxing by the pool, wanting a drink, and the bar was closed at 4pm.||These are only small niggles, and we will be back! Thanks for a lovely stay.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough, It is absolutely stunning and breathtaking! The views in this hotel, The pool, the palm trees and the staff, everything was just 10/10!! I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve been to.||I would love to give a big shout out to the man on reception, Miguel! He was friendly, Welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help everytime we Encountered him.||Food - The food at this hotel was great, Buffets and other hotels can be very hit a mess however this hotel was amazing. Everything was made fresh, From state to Fish etc.. The only thing I would change about the restaurant is for the fruit to be covered Just like the pastries, They was behind an enclosed box Which I think was great For hygiene purposes. However, I couldn’t fault anything else in the restaurant, They Even put out champagne every morning, which I think was a great touch!!!||Cocktails - Cocktails at The sunset pool were lovely, However, I do think that the Hotel should do a happy hour where paying guest less or two for one As the cocktails are alone, where around €10 Which I think is quite pricey.||Pool - There was so many pools in this hotel and they were all amazing! Big shout out to Xavier The Lifeguard/towel man, He was always very welcoming every day when we saw him. I even burnt while I was away and he managed to give me some of his 50 spray.||À la carte restaurant - This restaurant was really nice, The staff were great, and the food was amazing! We ordered the crab, Gyoza For example, and they were extremely fresh! The Prawn noodle dish was also delicious such great flavours and a good kick.||Rooms - rooms, were a little bit dated but always very clean we stayed in 931 and was a lovely view.||I would highly recommend this hotel and I think I will return.

One of My Favorite Stays – Truly Peaceful and Perfect This was my second time staying at Salobre Resort Serenity within a year—and honestly, it was just as amazing as the first time, if not better. Everything about this place feels so well thought-out and beautifully managed: the food is excellent, the rooms are spacious and spotless, the atmosphere is calm, and the staff are always welcoming and professional. As someone who owns a guesthouse in Marrakech and travel agency, I’ve stayed in many hotels but this one really stands out. The level of comfort and care here is something I rarely see. The views are stunning and the whole vibe is just perfect if you’re looking to relax and recharge. I strongly recommend Salobre to anyone who wants a peaceful, high-quality getaway. It’s a place I’ll keep coming back to.

First time in Salobre and definitely not the last one. The service has been amazing since the very beginning with a very warm welcome from Enrique and Indira. Every staff member is super friendly, always with a smile. The buffet is great! You realize everything has been thought before. Good food quality, and all the allergens information shown it's great when you are celiac. The sunset only adults pool is great when you look for quiet, calm and relaxing moments. |The views from the room were beautiful and I have to highlight the shower experience! |Thank to all the team and definitely will be back in the near future.

Salobre is simply incredible. Location is perfect for a relaxing break with it being quite out the way but a free shuttle bus makes it easy to take a trip into the local town. The staff are so friendly and do everything to ensure you have the best time. The food is just incredible with so many options to cater for everyone. The rooms and the resort in general certainly live up to the 5 star expectations. There’s so much to do in the resort to keep you entertained. We especially loved the live music every night. Whatever you’re looking for in a holiday, Salobre has it covered! Thank you Salobre, we will 100% be coming back.

This is our (same sex male couple) fifth visit to Salobre Hotel Resort and Serenity in three years, always half-board. On every visit, we have encountered other returners and regulars, some of whom have been going there regularly for 20+ years, which is a great indicator of the hotel's qualities. Those include small groups, couples (straight and same-sex) and singles. Singles tell us it's a great place for them.||We initially had some assumptions, before our first visit, about what a golf hotel might be like. We are not golfers. We later understood that golfers are generally out of the hotel during the day, and thus the hotel is populated during the day with non-golfers. We've met lots of lovely golfers. We have visited in March, July and September, so not during the golfing high season.||We look for a very chilled-out atmosphere as our vacations are about relaxation and recuperation. Salobre is perfect for this in so many ways. It's probably not the right choice for the party crew - it is a calm and calming environment. Whilst it is not adults-only, there are adults-only areas that are more than sufficient. Its location is isolated, up a mountain with amazing views. That may not appeal to those who want to be near shops, bars and restaurants, especially at night. There is a free shuttle bus during the day to early evening to Melanoras. It does not run at night. Hence, we go half-board, which is also good value for money. The food is good with plenty of choice (one of us is vegetarian), and you can eat healthily or indulgently. We have never had to wait for a table for breakfast or dinner. The food is good with plenty of choice (one of us is vegetarian), and it's great value for money. One of us isn't crazy about buffet food, but that's because it's so often not very good. That is not the case here. It is always super fresh, well presented, lots of choice, and the environment is without chaos. ||The hotel, its grounds and amenities are very well spread out across multiple levels, so it never feels crowded. It has an amazing planting scheme of mature palms, cacti and succulents. There is no fighting over loungers and you are never lined up like sardines when sunbathing. The infinity pool is large enough to properly swim in and is also never overcrowded. The environment is super clean, as are the rooms. You never encounter trash anywhere. We love the design, it's very comfortable but with a touch of softened brutalist concrete architecture softened. We have also noted that there is constant maintenance and new touches, including to the room. I occassionally have to do some work when I am there, and the WIFI is sufficient, including for online meetings. Rooms don't have desks anymore, which I sometimes miss but I can easily make do with the robust balcony table and comfortable chair. I hate plastic furniture and there is none here.||The staff across reception, restaurants, spas, pool areas and bars, and cleaners are all excellent, friendly but respectful. The only issue we have ever had was with a leaking air conditioner, which was fixed quickly and with zero obstruction or excuses.||When considering a holiday now, this is the first one that we check. We know what we are getting, we know how it works and whilst we still go to other places, if honest, we haven't found as good a match for the value for money.
