I came here because I saw on red note for recommendation for Justin and they put me for someone else thinking I was getting a haircut from Justin. At first I thought would get a decent haircut and I just went with it. I ended up getting my hair messed up he was using hair straightener instead of blow drying my hair. and I kindly asked Justin if they could fix my hair because I don’t know what my guy was doing. I even showed him the picture he said okay np I got you and next thing you know he said I never showed him the picture and made me real nervous I had to just pay and get outta there they are dishonest and doesn’t have customer service and all they wanted to do was just go home and ignore my request for fixing my hair. Justin the barber even told me my hair and the picture looks the same 😩 Worse experience I’ve ever had by far from an Asian barber Please avoid this place as they are very unprofessional!

I have thick, frizzy, and curly hair, so I got a straight perm from Justin today, and I absolutely love it! I’ve been to many salons in New Jersey, but I only come to this salon because of Justin. He always puts in so much effort to make my hair look beautiful, and the results are always amazing. I couldn’t be happier with my hair! Highly recommend!

Got a straight perm and end trim with Justin. He is seriously the best! Super detail oriented, took his time, and my hair came out flawless. 100% recommend him if you want someone who really cares about your hair 💇‍♀️✨

Firstly, I want to clarify that as a paying customer, it is essential for me to have input on the services I receive, especially when it comes to hairstyling and makeup. My initial request was not met, and multiple attempts to adjust the style were unsuccessful. It’s crucial that if a requested style cannot be achieved, there should be open communication about alternative options and pricing beforehand. Additionally, regarding the makeup service, it’s important that any concerns I raise, such as adjustments to eyebrows or under-eye areas, are addressed thoroughly and respectfully. It is not appropriate to dismiss or overlook these requests, as it impacts the overall customer experience. I also want to highlight that consistency in service and communication is key. It’s important that all customers, regardless of language, receive the same high-quality treatment and transparent pricing. My intention is not to accuse but to ensure that future experiences are improved and that all clients feel heard and respected. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback. I hope that it helps in enhancing the service quality for everyone. My first post. 11/5 I called yesterday asking for hair styling for an event and make up. I was told $50 for hair styling and $150 for makeup. I confirmed with the person. I always wanted to try korean salon so how bad could this be. Went today, my dinner is tonight. I showed the stylist the half up hair do I want. She then told me after my hair was washed. Half my make up done that it will cost $100 dollars (really?, at thus point I cant go anywhere else due to time. Or go without hair being done. So i agreed, but confirm again she can do the hair. Well, the hair is horrible. Look like i have a helmet on. Nothing like the picture. (I do not expect to be like the pic 100% at least 85-90% since i am paying double whay she quoted. I did not like what she did. So i voiced my concern. I thought its probably miscommunucation. Tried using the translation app. Well result not much change. Only chang was thd stylist got upset and talked with other staff in korean. Then pulled my hair roughly trying to restyle it. I wanted to cry. But i cannot it will ruin my half done makeup. So i just accept what she did which look nothing like the picture. Then stylist told me. Oh the picture and your hair is different. Well if you cannot the the style i show you. Then let me know. Instead of up pricing me in the chair. And blaming my hair texture. Then let me know what you can do. So i went to get rest of my makeup done. I did not like my brows. Makeup person made it sharp (angry bird). So i use the app to tell her incase she does something else to my brow. Then she got angry and frustrated “when i am done, i have other customers”. So basically shut up accept my work. I need to move on. I am not korean. Not sure if this is a cultural thing. But i paid $250 and I also tip as well. (I really did not want to, but i feel pressured to) Horrible experuence overall. Close to $300 for emotional distress What i showed the stylist. And my hair is nothing like this. Will try to get a pic to post to show the difference. So my personal first time with korean salon for hair styling and makeup.

I’m from out of state and I booked a haircut appt the day before on a whim. Safe to say I got the haircut of my dreams! Jason - the director, cut my hair with so much precision & attention to detail! He also gave me lots of tips & tricks to styling my hair. Loved my experience! 🙌🏽

Came to this salon because I couldn't get an appointment at my usual salon. I got a volume straight perm which turned out ok, but I was there for well over 4 hours and was not offered any water or drinks, whereas other customers were offered beverages. For the amount of time and money I spent there, I was hoping for better service. Probably won't come back.

It's quite puzzling to see those 1-star ratings, but I guess finding the right hair salon can be a 'love it or not' kind of experience. Today, I had my first haircut at this salon with Jason, and I have nothing but praise for the service and quality. I've been on the hunt for a new salon recently and received recommendations to try this place, particularly for a men's haircut by either Jason or Justin. Since Jason's schedule worked for me today, I decided to give it a shot. Walking in, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect because the reviews I'd seen were either 1-star or 5-star. So, I approached it with an open mind, arriving a few minutes early, and to my delight, they were ready to get started. I was ushered straight to the shampoo station, and the lady who washed my hair was incredibly friendly and easy to chat with. I'm looking forward to resuming our conversation on my next visit. In my journey to find the perfect haircut, I've hopped around different hairstylists based on both quality and likability. Interestingly enough, I ran into my former stylist, Jen, here. It was a pleasant surprise to see her again. Jen has always been open and friendly, and I'm happy to have her here. I can't speak for the other reviews, but I've always had great experiences with Jen. However, today was all about Jason, and he was fantastic. Jason is bilingual, which was a plus for me as my Korean language skills have flatlined over the years. We could communicate easily, and it was a relief to have someone understand exactly what I wanted in a haircut. I simply told him I wanted it 'really short on the sides and short on top but not too short because I like to brush it towards my right.' He nodded and got it immediately, and during our enjoyable conversation, he ensured my sides were cut to the right length, double-checked with me, and did the same for the top. Throughout the cut, he frequently checked in with me, making sure he was 'getting warmer,' until everything was just right. Afterward, he even taught me how to blow-dry, wax, and take care of my hair - probably after spotting a shrub of my white hairs during the cut. It was truly enjoyable to have a conversation with someone who understood my preferences while giving me a great haircut. My overall experience at this salon has been excellent. I may be a bit biased because Jen used to be my go-to hairstylist back at Amitie, but I have complete confidence in her. To those who may have had negative experiences in the past at this salon, I encourage you to give this place another try. After talking with the hairstylists (not only here), I've come to appreciate the challenges they face in truly grasping what each client wants, especially in such a short time. Our individual views on what looks good on us can be quite subjective, making hairstyling a very challenging career that heavily relies on feedback and reviews which can make or break them. Plus, hair doesn't grow back or correct itself quickly, so the margin for error is small... I wholeheartedly recommend giving this place a chance. However, regardless of where you go, I hope this review reminds everyone of the difficulties hairstylists and those who wash others hair, face in their line of work!

NEVER GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE WITH THE OWNER J. she is doing nonsense customer service. She totally ruined my hair cut and perm but did not even apology or refund. She insisted she did the right thing and saying that no problem of the result even though I'm not happy with it. I wanted hair done like grey hair model. But she cut my hair front bluntly and it's not even connected to the back hair smoothly and cut it too short both side. It looks so weird infront especially. Needless to say, the perm is almost loosen. paid for this $300. So absurd. See attached pictures. The pictures were taken on the day of my hair done. AWEFUL. If you don't want to mess up your hair do not go this place.

Called in this afternoon to make an appointment with Jen after reading the reviews here and the person at the desk let me know there was an opening later in the day. When I got there, no more than three hours later, the person at the front desk explained to me that there was a mistake and I would have to wait. The other stylists had overheard the conversation and offered to cut my hair which I did appreciate. I ended up leaving especially since the person at the front desk had made it seem as if I had somehow made the mistake. I had made the appointment with Jen because of the reviews here who apparently is one of the 2 owners. The person at the front desk made it seem as if I had made the appointment with the other owner. The reason I'm particular about appointments is because I have a pretty busy schedule and make an appointment to save having to wait an hour or so for an haircut which is not really a priority. The other reason is that I don't feel the need to take a chance on getting a bad hair cut especially if there is already a bad review. Just mainly disappointed that no one was genuinely apologetic, but seemed as if regardless of appointments, you'll be assigned to whoever they decide. Didn't seem like an honest mistake. Indifference at best and deliberate at worst.

I wish I can give it zero stars. I made an appointment with the head designer via phone on a weekday evening. As I arrived a little early, I was asked to sit- which I gladly did. 28 minutes after my reservation, the receptionist walks over to let me know that she won't be cutting my hair, suggesting a different person. If this is a true mistake or if the head designer was too busy/had to leave urgently, I wouldn't have minded because things can happen. However, I saw the receptionist and the head designer sitting down just chatting away for half an hour before her approach, as if she was refusing me as a client after having me wait. It was her unapologetic attitude, extremely late timing and the way she handled the situation that was very unprofessional and extremely disrespectful. No customer deserves to be treated this way- I hope this doesn't happen to any other clients.

I dyed my hair today, and I absolutely loved it!!!!The staff was very friendly and professional. The stylist knew exactly what I wanted and she did an awesome

Bad communication. Very disappointing and dissatisfied hair cut. I asked for one style and she did a complete different way of her style/ preference. Now my hair has 2 weird obvious layers that I hate so much! Completely destroyed my hair ...

Went here recently for the first time for a dude haircut and was very satisfied. The more established stylists there were busy so I got a stylist who just started there and was experienced in Korea but didn't speak English so a senior stylist was interpreting for me which worked fine. The stylist I had was very meticulous and used different tools (different scissors, razors and methods) to fine tune the cut, which I appreciate. She also took the effort several times to brush the hair off of my face, etc. The shampoo person was good as well and did a little massaging. They were attentive to my goals and followed up to confirm I was satisfied. At the front desk, I wish the person didn't watch so closely and intensely as I was setting my tip. Their interior is very nice, spacious and clean.

Really large clean space and great stylists who take effort into the cut and the end styling. thank you! Will be back for Justin

I went for a simple haircut. Showed pictures, gave instructions how I wanted my haircut, and the person who was cutting my hair completely disregarded it and destroyed my hair. It's all messed up and uncontrollable and now I feel like it's better to shave my head and look better than what I was given.

Last minute decision to get a quick cut. I was a little nervous at first since it was new. Inside was beautiful and my hair came out beautiful too thanks to the stylist Cindy. Everyone was helpful and welcoming, so I'll definitely be back again!
