⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A wonderful local gem — charming, artsy, and full of character Salon de AManTo is such a great find. It feels like stepping into a cosy, creative hideaway run by a warm local family. The place is full of little nooks, crannies, vintage furniture, shelves of books, and beautiful artwork everywhere you look — it has that perfect “old-world café meets art studio” vibe. We first popped in for a coffee and loved it so much we came back for lunch. The coffee was smooth and comforting, and the lunch menu was simple but delicious, homemade-style food that really suits the space. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing — soft music, natural light, quirky décor, and a pace that makes you want to slow right down. It’s the kind of café where you could read, draw, write, or just enjoy the creativity around you. A lovely family-run spot with so much soul. Highly recommend if you want something unique, artistic, and authentically local.

Cute little spot that we popped into for lunch. My GF got a Green Tea au Lait and Honey & Cinnamon Toast. I got a Coke and quite flavorful Chicken & Garlic Donburi. You order and pay at the “register”, and they let you know when you can pick it up. Mostly comfy seating area, if you’re on the taller side, your legs might not fit under some tables the whole way.

I found this cafe from tiktok, so i decided to give it a try. Such a compact cafe with cozy vibes, feels like home! I bought cafe au lait and amanto coffee as the drink and toast to pair with. Such a classic coffee to enjoy during the day 🥰 Might comeback again sometimes later~ Please spare some times to wait for the order to come, it's run just by one person.

Adorable little cafe with friendly staff. It also had good prices for the area. Except I was a bit disappointed by the drinks. I got an Iced “the best Chai” but it was extremely watered down with little to no flavour. We also tried the green tea latte which was okay but a little too sweet for us.

nice furniture, but minus point for the drinks (they have acceptable price btw). sweet potato cake is not my taste so I would not give them a bonus. they only had that kind of cake when I arrived (around 12.30pm)

I kind of resonate with what people are saying in the comments. The drinks are quite mediocre. The price, I would say more than what you would expect in Japan. You're mostly coming here for the vibe. The place has an authentic and original feel to it. From the entrance to every single nook and cranny in this cafe, the feeling is great. The service, kinda sucks. Not going to lie, you guys need to work on this drastically. If you can look past the service, it's a chill place to hang out.

Service here is awful and drinks are mediocre. Not tourist friendly. Vibe is unique, but plenty of other decent spots in the area that are grateful for your business. You must take a seat before you order then go back to the counter to give your order to rude wait staff. They hand you a device to let you know when your order is ready. This device is so loud that it disrupts the whole restaurant every time an order is ready. Kind of takes away from the whole chill factor. As my pregnant wife and I were about to leave, they asked her to go back to the table to return our cups. I have no problem with that, but they just said it very rudely. Will not be returning.

Probably the most scenic, photogenic cafe in Nakazakicho. A very nice place to sit, relax, read a book, or spend time with loved one(s).

Osaka is not a great place for Yelpers. Best of the best places are often written elsewhere. I came here because I had wanted something different, and according to 36 hours in Osaka, there is a section in town in Osaka that was from before WWII. My grandparents had gone to grad school in Nara, which is not far from Osaka, so on a Sunday morning I decided to take a stroll to the old part of Osaka. It had a very low ceiling and the houses had been kept from before the WWII. It was super quiet, which was a nice surprise because less than a mile away was the busy Osaka station. I sat down and ordered a wheat coffee. Freshly brewed, $2. I arrived at noon and was the first person to arrive. Some other people soon showed up, and they too wanted some freshly brewed coffee. I understand many Americans are strangely addicted to the Starbucks, and not just Americans, seemed like the world just couldn't get enough of Starbucks, but for me, it's small coffee shops like this makes me happy. I held back in tears as I drank my wheat coffee, thinking about and missing my grandparents, who were the best things that ever happened to me. I had been on my own since I was barely 12, and decades later, I find myself drawn to places where my most favorite people met more than 70 years ago. I pictured them speaking fluent Japanese, living in places like this, falling in love in this strange land. And that image made me so happy.

Really lovely cafe in the middle of a quiet neighborhood. Their teas were very good, especially the "Rankanka tea", which is made from an obscure fruit and apparently was reserved for royalty. They also served coffees and small food dishes. The cafe was divided into a traditional Japanese tea area (with mats to kneel in and no shoes allowed) and a more Western-style seating area in a second room (with chairs and shoes).
