14 Best Places for Tango in Buenos Aires, According to an Argentinian | Condé Nast Traveler

"Famed for slick wood floors that flatter every sultry move, this Palermo institution—also known as Milonga Parakultural—starts most nights with a lesson before the pros arrive around 11 p.m.; spectators are welcome to sip a drink and watch, with no stage but three long rows of two-top tables encircling the ballroom so dancers can navigate the narrow passageway and hop on and off between sets—reserve a table to be in the middle of it all, and note that while all ages are welcome, the action doesn’t heat up until late." - Celeste Moure, Allie Lazar

A club for the locals, but still Very welcoming to a pair of tourists, we had a great evening here. An incredibly friendly vibe. Arrived 11pm to a dance floor full of locals entranced in their dance and the rituals around it. As an outsider it is pretty fascinating as it’s such a deep tradition. We didn’t book so had a standing ticket, but as the night wore on and a table became available, we were given a dance floor side table. A live band started playing around 1:30am that were seriously brilliant, and there was also a demonstration dance from a pair of professionals. Loved it.

Cocktails are delicious but if you aren't 60+ years old, don't waste your time here. It's like live tinder dates for 60+.

Iconic dance hall with pedigree history. Unfortunately new management seems to be tearing away traditions and pushing out the long standing tango organizers who have kept this place going for years if not decades! They also took down a huge iconic photographic mural that has been a trademark of the establishment for so long. Big mistake says I but also legions of tango dancers!! Well if you do go expect to stand unless you make a table reservation ahead of time. Also table service for drinks is the worst!!! Take over an hour to get your order taken. Then another half hour at least to get your drinks. Then you have to wait till the end of the night and chase the waitress around to get your bill. It’s totally ridiculous. But they only have one sometimes two waitresses serving the entire hall and they will NOT serve you at the bar. Just terribly inefficient!

Great atmosphere and if you pick the right night a live band and singer.

We had a great time on New Year's Eve here! It was our first time and the woman at the check in was so nice and helpful. The music was great, there was a lot of space on the dance floor and everyone was kind and sharing. It was a great experience.

Just amazing. Don't be afraid to venture into local terrain. Nothing but friendly and welcoming. You will get to see some great dancing and enjoy some good wine. Pick up the key phrases like please and thank you and I promise you nothing but warmth.
