Sal's Pizza Corner

Pizza was not good at all. Kind of flavorless sauce and HARDLY any cheese and the crust NOT cooked all the way. Maybe I came at a bad time. A picture speaks a thousand words. I have never left a review before but I feel compelled to do so after ordering from here. I read all the reviews and thought of giving them a try.

The BEST pizza in town!! Me and a few friends went to different pizza places around town to taste test them, and we all agreed that this place had the best pizza, service, and overall atmosphere! Very much recommended if you're looking for a good slice!!

Very friendly service, but not a lot of foot traffic on a Sunday evening makes me a little nervous about overall quality. Pizza was decent though not the best in Bergen county by any stretch. Pasta was just plain with a glob of red sauce plopped on top. My kid spit out the meatballs, a food which he generally loves, but ate the pizza and pasta. So, overall decent but probably won't go back if I'm in the area again.

Great pizza! Did a taste test with a bunch of my buddies and we all agreed this was the best slice in town, the guy running the place is also super nice!

I've eaten a lot of pizza in my life. This is not worthy of a... 4.5 ??????😵 Pizza crust is PAPER thin and tasteless. The topping of sauce and cheese is even more thin and tasteless. Honestly (and I'm not joking)...Chuck E.Cheese has superb pizza compared to this !! One last thing, he goes from handling phones and money straight to MAKING the pizza ! No hand washing whatsoever. Don't go here ! 👎👎👎

Tasty pizza!! I stopped in for a quick pepperoni slice, delicious ronis. When I did, they also added a second slice at no charge! Very kind and a fun surprise. Thank you!

This place is great if you're looking for a no-frills plain pie. I can't comment on the other pies, but the plain cheese was very good: the sauce was none too sweet (which, as we all know, can ruin even the best pie), the cheese wasn't overbearing, and the crust had just the right amount of chew. The buffalo wings were also good.

Easily my favorite pizza in the RAMSEY area (or anywhere). I have been going to Sal’s since I moved to Ramsey in 1986. They used to be located more in the middle of town, before they moved to the current location in about the late 80’s... The dough is made fresh daily and tastes like a nice Italian bread. The chunk sausage is the best I have had on any pizza! The red sauce and the mozzarella cheese used on the pies is just so good. Put it all together and it makes for a great pizza!

Loved the pie! We were hesitant to try the "Joey" pizza; but soooo glad we did. We'll be back.

Really cute little pizzeria with a mom and pop feel. You know, the old school counter with the menu board overhead and red and white checkered table cloths. A friend had been telling us that he loved the buffalo chicken pie so a bunch of us stopped in. It was freshly made from scratch, and was a decent pie. With two cans of soda it came out to about $30. Happy to help and support our local businesses.

Great ambiance! I enjoyed talking to Joey, really great guy that provided insightful information for my visiting family. The pizza was amazingly priced, a little greasy to my liking but everything else made up for it.

This was my first visit to Sal's Pizza. It was a Saturday at 4pm. I wasn't sure the place was open since I spotted most of the chairs on top on the tables through the window. I ordered a plain slice and the eggplant parm sandwich. I received my slice first and it was HOT. I then received my sandwich and it was HOT. I enjoyed my meal while watching the Yankees baseball game on the television. The sandwich was huge and I'm glad I was given a fork to fish after the pieces that happened to escape. It's fortunate that I had skipped breakfast and lunch.

Best local pizza!! Look at these pies. Has been family run for over 50s years and really just delicious.

Sal's is my go to spot when I want pizza and I don't want to drive far to get any. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the way the pizza is cooked can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's very undercooked. Then the other times it's cooked to perfection where the cheese is slightly brown on top and the crust is just the right consistency. Still very yummy! I stick to the plain pie when I come here but I've also tried their meatball pie which is also great.

Hoping this review finds its why to the owner. Love Sal's however I know things everywhere are getting tough but please if you have to charge more for a pie please do so but please stop makeing the pies thinner and smaller like every other place around. It was the one thing that made us switch to you a while back. Thank you.

Sal's Pizza Corner makes an incredible Sicilian pizza and the owner is a true honest gem who really values customers opinions and the quality of his food. Thank you Sal for again a great Sicilian Pie with mushrooms and peppers . My wife and I really enjoyed it last nights got. I believe the owners name is Joe! Ciao! Lou and Bridget Ramsey,NJ

This place is strange. Never more than another customer in it but they must do business because it's been around for years. As for personality, the owner is passable, but the other guy that's always there is downright miserable. Half the time he and the owner are arguing. Go in today and only the miserable guy is there. I ask if he has sausage because half the time they say they don't have any sausage and he says "sausage what". I say sausage slices and he says no slices now, I can make a pie. He clearly was not offering to make a pie to give me slices, he wanted me to buy a whole pie. Doesn't the normal pizza owner say I'm sorry I have no slices right now to give you but if you wait 10 minutes I'll make a pie and give you slices from that pie? Besides being miserable this guy must hate his life.

Been coming here forever .. always reliable, really good classic pizza with nice tasting crust and generous toppings. This IS the go-to unfussy pizza place with excellent stuff !

Pleasantly surprised at how good the thin crust pizza was. Had not been to Sal's in many years. The pizza had a nice crust and a wonderful flavor. And it was not greasy.

Best pizza in the area and that's saying a lot as there are many to choose from. If you like sausage pizza (which I love) then no one even comes close. The secret is they don't precook the sausage like most places do. Consequently, it's cooked just right, juicy and full of flavor. I raises to the level of an eating experience.

Great pizza. They make pizza the way it should be. Crust is not too thin and the toppings are top notch. The calzone is amazing and can definitely feed two people on in.

Sal's on the corner is a two topping, dough flopping, soda popping, pizza adventure. Favorite slice in Ramsey. Sandwiches are great too - the buffalo chicken sandwich would be my desert island meal. You'll love the pizza - ask Sal to make it medium well!

Small place great for take-out. Solid pizza. The crust is very chewy, but it keeps the pizza crisp. Otherwise just a tasty, balanced pizza. The owner is a down-to-earth, pleasant guy.

Favorite pizza of all time. I literally could have this as my last meal and die happy. Name a better pizzeria I dare you

Had pizza for take out. Was ok, not the best I had. Seemed skimpy on the cheese, it didn't go close to the crust. And was a bit soggy, not crisped enough. Overall the flavor was good. And it was ready quickly. I might try it again.

Pizza was ok. Slice was warmed sufficiently and a good value at $2/per, but nothing special otherwise. Service was fair albeit the bare minimum.

Sal's is great he really takes care of the local volunteers in Fire and EMS for that we thank him greatly. The pizza is always exceptionally good and the service excellent.

I've been ordering pizza as well as other Italian dishes from Sals for years. Always friendly service and delicious food.

I don't say this lightly. I am the daughter of Italian Immigrants. Sal's makes the BEST PIZZA, Hands down! Coupled with the fact that Joe is the nicest guy... A great experience, and must try! My kids LOVE his fries!

I hate to write this review because we want to spread the wealth around Ramsey but we have been so disapointed by Sal's food. We have tried several times now their cheese pizza and the buffalo chicken sandwich w/blue cheese dressing just this Sunday evening. My husband & 13 year old son and myself found the crust to be so tough and chewy. My jaw was actually hurting after eating my slice, The dough was also somewhat under cooked. The chicken seemed to be not freshly cooked kinda like it had been sitting around and it was on the stingy size in portion with mostly a large hero of bread . I'm not sure what's going on there? We have tried it now several times. We will continue to order from Kings in Ramsey.

Best pizza in the area - worth going out of your way for. Love the staff too! They're closed on Tuesdays which is probably my only complaint.

Took a chance on this place after seeing the awesome reviews on Yelp. Totally pleased with the order. Ordered a pretty basic pizza with just onions as a topping (it's my favorite, don't judge), and it was out-of-this-world. I am suuuuuuper picky with pizza, and this pizza wowed. Actually about to do a delivery order after I submit this review! We're going to switch it up a bit tonight too.

Excellent choice for pizza in Ramsey. I like the off street parking in the back. They're pretty quick and are very friendly. To get to the other places in Ramsey you have to go through the middle of town. This place is at the edge of the downtown and very convenient. The food and prices are good.

There are 17 pizza places in Ramsey and Sal's is by far the best. I really enjoy their student discounts and the sandwiches are great. Definitely worth a try.

Good option for pizza, best option for sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and have the buffalo chicken sandwich with blu cheese and lettuce. The Honey mustard chicken sandwich is great also, but not as legendary as the buff.

Had to get a quick bite to eat because of my lack of hunger. Sal, great guy. Very friendly and welcoming into his pizza corner. Got a slice of pizza and a chicken parm hero. Did not disappoint at all. Service was quick. Will definitely go back another time. Highly suggested pizza.

Sal's is a hidden gem to outsiders, but if you're from Ramsey you already know about this place. Fantastic pizza that would make any Sicilian's toes curl! (Not to mention great sandwiches.) Joe is a great guy who cares about his customers and is well known in the community. I love to grab a bite to eat and talk sports with the guy.

Best pizza on the eastern seaboard! Service is always great and quick. The buffalo chicken sandwich is to die for. The owner, Joe, is a really nice guy and always entertaining.

This is the best bang for the buck in Ramsey !! LOVE the chicken parm hot heros plus the pizza (plain cheese and ricotta white broccoli). Wish he would have garlic knots other than that I am happy !! If he had garlic knots this would be five star.

I really like Sals. They have a consistently good pizza and a great buffalo chicken sandwich. The prices are very reasonable also. Unlike some Ramsey area pizza places, Sals prices won't break your budget. I'll be going again soon.

Great sandwiches, great pizza, great prices. The sandwiches are so big, I can get two lunches out of one sandwich. The pizza is llike real NY style pizza. A little tricky to park, but worth the effort!

Delicious pizza!!!!!! One of the best pizzas I have ever had. The decor of the place is outdated, but don't let it fool you. It's worth a trip. The pizza was perfect.

Sal's Pizza is a great place to eat. Food is made in house--not like a chain pizza shop. Staff is pleasent to be around, facilities are kept neat and clean. Strongly reccomend.

I love Sal's Pizza Corner!! In my humble opinion, it has the best pizza - and definitely the best subs - in the area. My favorite go-to restaurant for take-out. I feel like very few people know of them as many people suggested other options when we moved here recently. But I pass it on my way home every day and (thankfully) decided to try it recently. The subs are huge and the bread tastes homemade. Meat is fresh and comes piping hot. Pizza is awesome, not greasy, just good Jersey pizza. The people there who take your order and deliver are super nice.

I used to go to Sal's when I was a kid, and was recently in town visiting my folks, and we ordered some pizza from there- big mistake. It was so gross. The first few bites of each slice were so greasy that they were soggy, and the rest of each slice tasted rubbery. They were sloppy with the toppings- one slice had no toppings, one had about 5x too much topping. We ordered olives on the side, which they did not include. On top of all of this, they overcharged us by $3 for the pie, which my husband didn't notice until he got home with the pizza. Won't be back and don't recommend it.. there are plenty of good pizza places in the area, this is not one of them.

The Mrs. and I make this our go to spot when we're in the mood for some tasty pizza! Really friendly staff to top it off! The salads, pastas and sandwiches always hit the spot as well!

Best pizza around! Relatives come from Ohio just to get Sal's pizza. In-laws come from Hillsdale, NJ for same reason. No Sal's in Hillsdale!!

I just moved to the area and called in an order for pickup. I was greeted on the telephone by someone who was extremely rude and abusive. The pizza that I picked up was so soggy that I could have eaten it with a spoon. I wouldn't recommend the food, and I can only say that the staff leave much to be desired when it comes to professionalism and customer service. I wouldn't recommend the place.

Best pizza in town hands down. Tried every place in town and this is the closest to real NY pizza you can find. You always get a fresh pie or slice . Never pre-cooked and reheated. Prices are crazy reasonable.
