The food here was excellent with a wide variety of beyond the ordinary menu options. Good choice of Margaritas also as well as other drinks. I love the Guy fieri options my wife ordered the nachos and it could have served six people. They had to give us a catering dish to take it home. It was excellent with me throughout. I love this place

Salsa Brava in Flagstaff is a gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican food in a relaxed, welcoming setting. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant with traditional music and a laid-back vibe. The service was friendly and fast, making us feel right at home. The complimentary chips and salsas were absolutely addictive—bursting with flavor and impossible to stop eating. The cold beer paired perfectly with our hot meals. We tried the lunch special with an extra fish taco, as well as the asada taco meal with carnitas, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and the produce was clearly fresh. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Visited on May 22, 2025 and was served by Brenden. He was Spectacular at recommending specific menu items and keeping my drink full. Very attentive and amazing at conversation. The food is super delicious and the portions are more than generous. Highly recommend to anyone driving through Flagstaff. I can't wait to enjoy another meal here again. BRAVO Brenden!!!!

Google
The salsa they give you while you wait is delicious, I liked the pineapple the best. Food was good, we had the salsa brava combo and the "what guy ate" stuffed sopapilla, and sopapilla a la mode for dessert. Everything was great, and big enough portions for lunch the next day!

Google
Delish! Fantastic food and the portion sizes are massive. The homemade Key Lime Pie is the most amazing slice of heaven I have ever had. Dense, limey, homemade graham cracker crust and fresh made whipped cream. I'm taking half of it home because it is so big.

Google
It’s extremely white washed salsa was not spicy they barely cooked the tortillas and honestly didn’t taste very good. They do not have much options for Mexican food either as they advertise. I would strongly recommend Los Altenos instead cheaper, larger portions and very tasty compared to this place.

Google
This place was AMAZING! The service was STELLAR. The chimichangas were delicious and we really enjoyed the 3 different salsa they gave us with our chips. The fried ice cream was the best we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this restaurant for yummy Mexican food!

It's my final night in Flagstaff and so far on this road trip I haven't ordered Mexican food. "Salsa Brava" was prominently and favorably featured on Guy Fieri 's "Diners, Dives and Drive-Throughs". I had skipped lunch and had spent most of the day at the Grand Canyon, so I was really hungry. I ordered Fajitas Magnifico, which has shrimp, skirt steak and grilled chicken with carmelized onions, green and red peppers. It comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. All entrees come with one complimentary basket of tortilla chips with 3 types of salsa. I also had iced tea. Since it was Saturday evening, the place was packed. I sat at the bar. I received excellent service from Mando. When I asked for a business card for my scrapbook and told them I came all the way from San Antonio because of Guy Fieri 's review, I received a kind word and a handshake from the Assistant General Manager Mitchell Castricone.

Yelp
Tex Mex, heavy on the Tex- When researching Mexican eats in the area, I was excited to discover they offered savory sopapillas- We arrived late Sunday afternoon, and were told there was a 45min wait. We settled into the waiting area, but were pleasantly surprised when we were seated at the bar 10 minutes later- The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience. They provide complimentary chips & salsa- note, they did ask if we'd like more, but the second round was a charge-glad I asked (this was one of the woes of the place- many times our waiter asked if we wanted non-complimentary items extras, without stating they were at cost add-ons until I asked) I ordered the stuffed sopapillas with carnitas-no sour cream- and mild lime creme sauce- My husband ordered the Carnitas Combo- Both plates were very flavorful, bold seasoning, nice kick to them, & stuffed with meat- though the side rice/beans were on the plainer side The sopapillas were beyond smothered in the lime creme & very soggy- was a bit disappointed-it felt more Tex-Mex than authentic Mexican cuisine. The dishes were flavorful but lacked the depth and authenticity I was hoping for. It focused heave on the cheese and sauce rather than the more subtle flavors of quality Mexican- gimmicky cooking The place really has pride in the Guy Fieri visit, it was interesting to learn he had visited over 15yrs ago, but they're still going strong celebrating-

Yelp
A 4% service charge is now added to your check and is not mentioned online, because the owner doesn't understand a minimum wage increase is supposed to come out of their Porsche's lease budget, not our pockets. So between ~8% tax, and the expected at least 15% tip... you're paying at least 20% over the menu prices. Even if these are still fair prices, you should eat somewhere else on principle. Be transparent and support your community, rather than a greedy @)$"! trying to maintain your facade of a lifestyle at expense of the community. If your "business" can't afford to pay living wages to everybody involved, you aren't running a business you're keeping indentured servants at best lol Make your prices transparent, and at least act like you're not embarrassed to be charging these fees if you're going to join this club. I'd be embarrassed too, but I'd also never do that ‍ Is it that the owner is less good at running a restaurant than other owners in town not charging the fee, or just pure greed? I have provided a list of restaurants in town that charge similar fees

Yelp
3.5/5 Decent food and ample portion size for the price. Service was okay as our waitress tried on two occasions to add on non-complimentary extras without telling us, succeeding once. Salsa was supposed to be mild pico, med red sauce, and spicy habanero but ended up being slightly fermenting tomatoes/pico, mild red sauce, and a too sweet and not spicy habanero. Fish tacos flavor was good but size of fish was pretty small, drowning in celery. Combo platter was tasty, chicken was juicy and steak was cooked to a nice medium.

Yelp
First time here this weekend. We made a reservation since we had a larger party and were immediately sat with chips and salsa already at the table. There were 3 salsas, my personal favorite was the green one which was a little bit sweeter than the other 2. The portion size for the entrees were not lacking at all! My husband got a burrito and it was bigger than his head! I got the sour cream and chicken enchiladas and they were delicious! I would 100% come back again. The staff were very friendly as well.

Yelp
We went in one Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. We sat for several minutes before we were even acknowledged by anyone even though there were 2 people behind the bar. We were given some chips and 3 small dishes wirh pico, and 2 types of salsa. The the chips were not fresh and some were greasy and chewy. Just gross. The salsas and pico were nicely seasoned, very flavorful but the salsas were a little too hot for me. I got the carnitas combo. The chicken on the tostada was dry and the tostada shell wasn't exactly crispy. The carnitas were flavorful, juicy and tender. Food was just OK. Nothing special. The margarita was also just ok and overpriced. Service was also just OK. I doubt I'd go back with many other restaurants around to try.

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting our friends in Flagstaff, and the first place they take us to is Salsa Brava. They were boasting to us how the food is good here. We went on a Thursday evening and the place was busy but we were still able to get a table. On the weekends, it's suppose to be super busy. The decor was southwest themed, typical Mexican restaurant. The chips and the three types of salsa were yummy! We ordered a couple of margaritas. The jalapeño marg had a little kick which was perfect! And the raspberry marg was not too sweet and still had its tartiness. For our main course, I had the fajitas magnifico and my husband had the carne asada. Both dishes were delicious.

Yelp
I made a reservation here, on my birthday, because they had two items I really wanted to try: navajo tacos and cheese crisp. I made a reservation for 7:15 but we arrived to our hotel in Flagstaff an hour earlier than that and were starving. I tried to make an earlier reservation but opentable was being glitchy. Fortunately, they were able to seat us about half an hour earlier, which was awesome. We sat in the "cantina" which is basically the bar. Our server was amazing. He was super friendly and very attentive. You could tell that he was making an effort to make our dining experience as pleasant as possible. We both ordered a margarita on their menu, I the spicy one with jalapenos. They were both fantastic. They have two sizes and although I usually go for the larger size, I elected to have the smaller size because I was planning on checking out a brewery in Flagstaff later in the evening. After the first marg, I wanted to try the combo of frozen marg with sangria, and this was amazing. I was so turnt from just two of these drinks that we didn't end up going to the brewery. They definitely don't skimp on the strength at this place. They provided the free chips and 3 salsas which is a lost art these days. The salsas were delicious and unique. We ordered the cheese crisp to start with chilies. It was amazing. It's very similar to pizza. Sometimes the simplest things are the best. I'll have to try to make it at home but probably won't be able to do it justice. I ordered the navajo taco which typically comes with meat but they were gladly able to accommodate my vegetarianism and even offered to substitute veggies (but I hate onions) and something else that I couldn't do for one reason or another. It was AMAZING but gigantic and I'm glad I didn't try to order anything else as I was uncomfortably full afterwards. GF ordered the fish tacos and enjoyed them. For dessert, we were too full to eat there but we elected to take home the sopaipillas for later (later us was grateful for this). I also received a fried ice cream for my birthday. Both desserts were incredible. Absolutely excellent place. I would gladly return regularly if I lived remotely nearby.

Yelp
Not very friendly service and food was not up to par. My cousin could not even touch her enchilada. Did not taste fresh and rice was hard
google avatar

Yelp
We tried it here because we love Fat Olives. The food was great! We ordered the fajita platter and our kids ordered American food of the kids menu. They loved the Mexican food a lot more after they tried what we ordered. Great service too!

Yelp
Very friendly service throughout our experience. The food was quite good and came out very quickly. Delicious margaritas. Their salsa is quite tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
When a meal begins with three different salsas, this girl is a happy camper. There was a Pineapple habanero, chipotle red sauce and a pico to snack on before our entrees. I ordered an extremely tasty sangria swirl margarita and hubby ordered aCadillac margarita. They were both perfect for the meal. We both really enjoyed the flavor and amount of food. I'd absolutely make this a stop again on our next visit to Flag.

Yelp
Delicious tacos and margaritas in this city's little gem. Not to much to ask for, definitely worth the visit :-)

Yelp
Wow! As a local, this is the place to go! For happy hour or take the family and friends. The food is delicious and the service is the best. Love the ambiance, really welcoming. We see a lot of locals and because it's near the exit on I-40 on the way to the Grand Canyon, lots of travelers stop in for a meal. Not too long of a wait for a table unless it's the super busy time. But you would expect that of any great restaurant. Enjoy!

Bubby C.

Yelp
Young, soft-spoken, man that waited on us gave exceptional service. Friendly, attentive, handled my special requests well. Interior is decorated well. Party of 5. One person didn't care for his food (enchiladas) - Likely, just personal preference. I thought my Mango Habanero Carnitas was very good (fruity/a little different). I really like the chips.

Yelp
I ate here many years ago (pre-pandemic) and remembered liking it, so we made a point to try it again on this trip to Flag. Atmosphere was nice, restaurant and restroom were both clean. Our server was super friendly and helpful, although the staff bringing out the meals looked confused. We asked for an extra plate and were half way through our meal before it arrived. Sadly the food was just disappointing! We needed knives to cut through the tortillas because they were so tough. The beans and rice were very bland (so sad because these are Mexican restaurant staples!) My enchiladas were lackluster and I didn't finish because they just didn't taste that great. (Not worth the calories). And the price was high for the value received. Also, heads up: you will be charged $1.99 if you accept a second serving of chips. I'm sure this was on the menu somewhere, but I didn't see it. And actually don't mind because I know things are expensive these days, but being told would've been appreciated. We probably won't be back. But now we know.

Yelp
Giving 1 star is generous. Visiting from Texas, and expected at least decent food from a place recommended by Guy. My husband took a bite of the crispy taco and at least a tablespoon of grease came out the other side. It has been about an hour since we left the restaurant and my jaw is still hurting from trying to chew through the half of a taco I ate. I wish I could post the pictures we took. The food looked as bland as it tasted. I order my son a simple burger and fries and I didn't even have the heart to feed it to him. We left at least 90% of our food on the plate. The worst Mexican food I've ever had.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
What a disappointment. Found this place through Yelp and even waited 45 minutes to eat here. The staff was night but the food... I picked this place hoping to enjoy Chile Relleno and unfortunately it tasted pickled. I've never known an Anaheim Pepper to taste like that (Poblano is the traditional pepper used in this dish). I tried to eat the rice and beans but they were bland. I asked for some tortillas on the side and those were a 10/10! I got full off tortillas and deep fried ice cream. Hence giving the second star. When I told the waitress about the Chile Relleno, she asked if I wanted anything else and I ordered two tacos. Honestly they tasted like they were from Del Taco.. I took what was inside and put it in one of those amazing tortillas. However, when the bill came, I was disappointed to see they didn't take my Chile Relleno that I did not eat off the bill. Instead, they just removed three dollars for the inconvenience and charged for the tacos. I was prepared to be charged for the tacos, but not for the meal I didn't eat. If it wasn't for the tortillas and deep-fried ice cream, I would rate this one star. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Wait staff is friendly and inviting. Quick on their feet with choices and options. Food was superb with large portions.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD the chimichangas & the shrimp tacos had me obsessed with this place! the service was great, very friendly staff. pretty large as well and not too nosy.

Yelp
The food was sooo good! I accompanied my dish with their special "Brava on the Beach", made with their house pineapple vodka. It was Delicious! The place serves chips and salsa on the house for your first round, after that each basket of chips is about $2. The habanero pineapple salsa was pretty tasty, perfect combination of sweet and spicy. The service was quick with it!. The guy who had greeted up checked up on us and joked with us and it was pretty comfortable there. He recommended Fat Bagel to have the following morning. Wish I would've gotten that dudes name so I could've put it in the review. But if you see this, Guy... YOU WERE SO NICE TO US!. It was hands down my favorite stop during our Family Vacation.

Yelp
Lana is the best!! Food was bomb! We will definitely be back. Portion was huge and came out hot! Enough to share!
google avatar

Tabitha H.

Yelp
We were seated right away. The waiter Ben couldn't be nicer. He asked our salsa preference and took our drink order. We asked for a recommendation and he gave us three options. He was very patient with my order as I was slightly difficult. The food was good. I got the Blanco Chimi and we got sopapillas for dessert. Yummy.
google avatar

Cheng T.

Yelp
Tex Mex clean nice and flavorful Trio of salsas first round free all good and tasty Best Baja tacos and classic tacos were the bomb. Lots of locals and travelers. Sit at bar to watch the games.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
It was fine. Nothing fantastic. Completely mediocre. The service was good. Cute restaurant. The food was just not out of this work. Honestly the chimichanga I Had was good. But the chips that come complementary to the table were gross. Way over cooked. The pico dip was good and the pineapple dip was good. All in all just not super impressed or over impressed with it
google avatar

Corbin B.

Yelp
Salsa Bravo! There was plenty of parking upon arriving. There was no wait when greeted by the host and immediately seated at a booth. We were quickly offered chips and salsa complimentary with 3 flavors of salsa; Hot, medium, and mild. Delicious! We were then greeted by our very attentive server Danielle. She greeted us and asked if this was our first time. Which in fact it was. She took our drink orders and gave us time to review the full menu. My sister ordered the fish tacos, my mom ordered chicken tacos and I ordered the carne asada chimichanga burrito. Everything tasted fresh. No complaints at all. Portions were generous considering the price point. We decided to finish with two orders of Sopapillas, which we didn't realize each order included 4 individual Sopapillas. They were seasoned with cinnamon and served warm with individual packets of honey. The restrooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the ambiance was very warm & welcoming. We look forward to bringing this place business again. We enjoyed a 1st class experience and you should too!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Service was genuine and efficient. The food was amazing, chimichanga burrito, I could eat those all day. Even with the burrito covered in sauce it keeps it's strict and crunchy texture. I order a shrimp taco, the cheese and creamy sauce it had was an explosion of flavor and texture. To be honest The carne asada tacos were ok, tinder but lacked flavor. I won't get them again. But man the rest of the food was amazing. I'll be driving up from Prescott valley just for this restaurant.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Sangria Blanco was amazing. Emma was a great server. Great dinner.

Yelp
As a Flagstaff native who has supported this local business for over 35 years, I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience. After how my family and I were treated, I will no longer support this restaurant. For my father's birthday, he chose this restaurant because it's one of my mother's favorites. We quickly finished the small basket of chips and the three tiny bowls of salsa. When my father asked for more salsa, we were informed there would be an additional charge. The same applied to extra chips. I recall that this restaurant for many years used to have a salsa bar and offered unlimited chips, it's what it was known for. I noticed that other tables received the same portions regardless of the number of people at the table. When our food arrived, my father found his meal was not hot. My mother recounted that during her 2 previous visits, she had found chicken bones in her chicken quesadilla both times, and neither the waitress nor the management addressed the issue. My own food was bland, chewy, and not hot despite the plate being warm. I was hesitant to ask for additional salsa due to the extra charge. The bill included a 4% fee before taxes, which meant I was also paying taxes on this fee. When we questioned this, the waitress mentioned it was due to an arrangement between the owner and the city. The manager, who was sent to address our concerns, approached us with a dismissive attitude. She explained that the fee was implemented to keep menu prices lower and claimed that the owner was doing us a favor. Regarding the portion sizes, she was also dismissive when I pointed out that we received the same portions as smaller tables. When my father and I mentioned that we would no longer be returning, she sarcastically responded, "I'm sorry to hear that. Have a nice day." The situation continued to deteriorate. As we were leaving, my elderly mother, who has difficulty moving quickly due to her bad knees, was almost pushed aside by the busboy as he rushed to clear our table. This lack of consideration and respect was shocking. Between the nickel-and-diming, the manager's unprofessional behavior, the subpar food quality, and the hasty attempt to push us out, I will not be returning to this restaurant or recommending it to others.

Yelp
Did I see anyone from the famous "Sister Wives" reality tv show? No. Did I have a fantastic time drinking margs and eating good food? 100% YES! Salsa Brava was amazing! When my wife and I arrived we had a 20ish min wait, so off to the bar we went to wait and had 2 great margaritas and were seated in less than 10 minutes. Now the food was perfect and filled that Mexican food craving I was having. We tried all 3 salsas and fell in love with the pineapple salsa they had. The chips were crisp and took self control to not eat all before dinner. My wife got the Chile Relleno and I got the Fajita Magnifco that came with steak shrimp and chicken. The tortillas were warm and big. Great food, great drinks, cannot wait to go again!
google avatar

Candace B.

Yelp
Upon entering we were seated immediately. Our server was fantastic. He was not only very positive but just very helpful and had some recommendations for our day trip to Flagstaff. I ordered the carnitas combo which was delicious. The pork wasn't dry and the rice and beans were nicely flavored. The pineapple like salsa was my favorite. Even though I'm on keto, I tore it up and it didn't tip the scales! I highly recommend this place, not only for good food and service but its an excellent atmosphere to bring family and friends.

Yelp
Food was really good! Portions are huge! We had tacos, fajitas, rice, chicken burritos. Everyone enjoyed their meal

Yelp
Up in Flag for NAU family weekend and wanted some mexican food. Came on a busy Saturday night. Hostesses were fantastic. Blonde girl, great eyebrows, was super nice and a brunette, longer hair, always smiling and busy, were doing a great job controlling the door and over estimated our wait (but not too much where we wanted to leave) which is always nice when you get seated 10-15 mins before quoted time. Got seated and our server was Emma. Loved her from the start. She was super attentive, friendly and nice to chat with. She took great care of us! Thank you, Emma! Manager touched our table which is always nice to see. A nice touch! "Busboys" were keeping on top of tables and making sure to turn them quickly. Service was great from moment we walked in until we walked out the door. Oh, the food, yeah, that was great as well! The pineapple/habanero salsa was my fave of the 3. A nice slow burn. I had the Carne Asada Ranchera and was cooked perfectly (medium rare)! All around a great experience and will be back next time in town! Thank you, Salsa Brava!

Yelp
Our friend had their wedding dinner rehearsal at Salsa Brava last weekend. At first glance, this place did not look like much, especially from the outside. But when we arrived at 630PM on a Friday evening this place was packed. So much so, that there were not enough tables available for our wedding party. Our party ended up overflowing to the bar area. Like I said, the restaurant was packed full of people. Our party took up about 10 tables. We only had 1 server. I could not understand why none of the other servers came to help me. My table was one of the last tables for him to get to, by this time we had been seated for almost 40 minutes. Despite all of that, our server was amazing. He just appeared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people. The saving grace of this place, thankfully was the food. Once we ordered, the food came out fast and it was delicious. I had the lobster and shrimp enchiladas. My daughter had a chimichanga and my wife had a beef taco salad. There were no leftovers, which is not normal for us. They used a white sauce on most of the meals which was just fantastic. Based on the food, I would highly recommend this place. They might be understaffed and that could explain some of the frustration. But it was worth the wait. Being from San Diego, I am looking forward to an opportunity to eat here again.

Yelp
Great food, sizable portions, and excellent pico! The waiter was abysmal. Inattentive and absentee.
google avatar

Bernardo A.

Yelp
We were in town and decided to give it a try. We've had Mexican food all over the southwest and this definitely ranked very high. We tried the steak fajitas and the molcajete. Both dishes were excellent. The jalapeño's were prepared perfectly and the seafood was tasty.
google avatar

Aarone M.

Yelp
Not impressed. We stopped in because the owner was on Triple D and Triple G... and because we also love to support local. Ordered the cheese crisp with green chili, Carne Asada Street tacos, and a Navajo taco. Didn't like any of it. Flavor was not authentic and lacked pizazz. We liked the chips and salsa and iced tea... pretty hard to mess those up though. Server was nice but saw her wipe the foam off a beer glass with a dirty rag. Won't be back.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Decided to check out this spot since I'm a fan of Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Pretty good stop for lunch while in Flagstaff! The service was slow but the food made up for it. We tried the featured items from the show. The stuffed Sopapilla and Navajo taco were good choices. Definitely preferred the Sopapilla. Topped off with 2 tasty margaritas, it was a nice lunch.
google avatar

Joy S.

Yelp
Without reservations, we hit this place for happy hour when we got into town. The only available seating was at the bar, which we were fine with. The two bartenders/servers were friendly and helpful. My husband got one of the beers they had and we ordered a couple different tacos. The Baja fish ones were fantastic, with a generous portion of crispy fish with the normal toppings in a slightly fried tortilla. The shredded smoked chicken ones were full of the meat, with normal toppings in a flour tortilla. Both were flavorful. It'd be fun to try some of their meals sometime.

Yelp
I only got take-out while traveling, but this place was great - the food, the service (even for takeout), and an awesome vibe. Would definitely stop here again next time I'm nearby.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
Amazing food, and staff. Tacos, burritos, Drinks. Happy hour is a must. Lana is amazing! Makes the best margs in town in our opinion. Sarah is awesome. Chicken, pork, veggie items, all of it is amazing. Large portions, so if you don't like to share, good for you! I don't either, cause I need these for later. ^_^
google avatar

Aroura J.

Yelp
Ordered the shrimp taco plate and it was amazing! They pack the tacos with shrimp! Unlike other places where they only add a few pieces of shrimp, So definitely a win there. Came during the dinner rush and we were seated fast and food came fast as well so service was great.

Forellas V.

Yelp
Great food, excellent service! Our server Aiden R was particularly gracious and helpful! Thank you for making our dinner enjoyable.

Long time Flagstaff favorite. Interesting selections of cuisine with delicious flavor.

Yelp
Excellent food, big servings. House made salsa was delicious (pineapple habanero). Sadly did not take any pictures. Definitely recommended

Yelp
Went here hoping for some knockout fry bread; left still hoping to find that. The service was great, and their menu was abundant, but if you're looking for spice or authenticity, this is not the stop. A decent Americanized Mexican joint

Darlene M.

Yelp
Service is still super quick, super nice and friendlyp waitress. My fajita salad ($15.49) really good. Fresh lettuce and tender steak. Husband had the Salsa Bravo grande combo ($19.99) chicken tacos were good and crispy. Tostado had a lot of beans and toppings, rice was good and cheese enchilada was okay. Three salsas with chips. I loved the pineapple habanero. Also comes with a pico and a medium. Good filling food.

Missy H.

Yelp
Really loved this place. If we're were local, we'd be regulars!!! It's absolutely fair to ask to pay for "seconds" on salsa, since it's so good. We didn't need to xtra but woulda paid for it!!! Fish tacos were SO GOOD!!! Great dinner.
