Salsa Tex-Mex Frisco

First time at this restaurant. The service was pleasant. We sat in the patio, which was very nice. I ordered the carnitas and they tasted good. My only disappointment was the very small portion of rice that came with my order. It was about 1.5 of a tablespoon. I eat out a lot and frequent tex mex, and I've never seen such a small portion of rice.

Good food but this place get busy and they don't accept reservations. Prices are reasonable.

This is my third time visiting this location. All three times, the chips were undercooked. Salsa is good but no sauce to it. They do offer two salsas and a bean dip. I ordered fish tacos. They were a little bland even w the Slaw. Service was pretty good. Overall, not terrible but not good enough to go back.

I very much enjoyed the steak fajita today for lunch! All of the food was fresh and Delicious and of high-quality and I loved the three different dips/salsas they give you along with the thin homemade chips! Yum! The service was fair until I asked for an extra napkin and then, instead of just saying absolutely, I will get you another napkin the server told me that they only had one size of napkin… ?Maybe he was trying to save a tree? Anyway, I will definitely return because the food was fabulous! Plus they have Dos Equis on tap… My favorite! Lunch is definitely the best time to go… Good prices, and it’s not as busy!

Didn't live up to my expectations for TexMex in Texas but had a pretty good lunch

Note to you.... Don't order a Whiskey Old Fashioned at a Tex Mex restaurant like my husband tried to 😂. I told him not to but he insisted. Anyway, I actually enjoyed the food. It was our first time here and I ordered the Pollo en Mole along with a Strawberry Mojito and Sopapillas for dessert. My daughter ate all of her crispy taco and hubby at the Brisket tacos. I'd never had Mole before so the sweet sauce with a spice kick to follow really sent my tastebuds swirling.

Small place… STAYS busy! And that says a lot! Food was great, the chips were flowing, and so were the 3 dips they give. Food was good! Will come back again and they serve plantains! Yum! Great staff here too. Always friendly and helpful and the place is well staffed. Plenty of employees to make it a smooth dining experience.

Had lunch on the patio. The service, food and atmosphere was great. We had tostadoes and fajita chicken taco salad.

This place is great and among our top, go-to Mex/Tex-Mex places. Always great service, good and authentic food, and very reasonable prices. It's a bit of a victim of its own success as they get really busy on weekends and you can expect long waits, so we usually try to get there early.

Food and service was great. You get red and green salad and black bean dip complementary. Nice strong frozen strawberry margarita for happy hour. My husband got the chimichanga that was nice and cheesy and crispy, not soggy the entire time we sat there and i got the carbs asada and added veggies and charro beans. So yummy.

Hubby loves this place, well he did. We went to have fajitas and got a platter of onions. 1 sliver of red bell pepper and 1 sliver of red. We didn't complain, but we won't go back.

Pretty mediocre place overall. Wanted to like it but this just wasn't it for me. The chips were quite bland. Just lacking flavor and salt. Ordered the large guacamole which is just four scoops of guacamole. It didn't taste like it was made right there. It was really lacking any kind of seasoning too. Just very bland. I ordered the chicken mole. The chicken itself was actually too salty. The mole sauce didn't really taste much like mole to me but it wasn't actually bad. The enchiladas were ok. I did like the steak in the fajitas as far as how it was flavored but it was also a little tough. I won't be going back. There are several other interesting Mexican places to try in the area

My favorite Tex-mex spot in the area. The food is always delicious and consistent. The drinks are equally good. The prices are affordable and they have great happy hour specials. I've never had bad service here. My daughter is learning Spanish and the staff is always happy to come by and help her practice. They make every customer feel like family.

Would give zero stars for the level of customer service provided by waitresses and managers. Wouldn't recommend this watered down Texmex garbage. Skip this place and go to Gloria's if you're in frisco.

Definitely my favorite Tex-Mex in the Dallas area. If you are going to have salsa in your name, you better have damn good salsa and they definitely do. They also give you complementary bean dip, which is also fab. Rest of food is good too, but they set the stage with the chips and salsa..

These people are chip nazis. We paid $10.81 for a bowl of white queso to go AND had to pay almost $5 for a large bag of chips. The bowl of white queso didn't come with any chips and when we asked a manager if queso comes with chips and he said yes, we asked why ours didn't and we had to pay. He changed his tune and said you have to pay for extra chips. We opened our bag and showed him the only thing we got was a bowl of queso and the $5 large bag of chips, it should have come with an additional bag of chips with the queso order. He demanded to see our receipt and just walked off. I saw him argue with the waiter who charged us the $5 for the chips, grab a smaller bag of chips, and then handed it to us. Chips are literally FREE and UNLIMITED if you dine in. Why the hell are they so stingy on to go orders!? We used to eat here a lot, but their beef enchiladas have gotten unbearably salty so we stopped. The only thing we get here now is the white queso, but damn are they rude and stingy.

Generally good tex-mex but last night was very disappointing. It was my birthday and I ordered Shrimp Fajitas (although expensive) in anticipation of a good dinner. Didn't happen for my meal. The large shrimp were overcooked (making them tough) and the peppers and onions were barely sauted. Some of the peppers weren't even sliced up, just large pieces. And the worse was the whole platter was swimming in grease. I should have sent it back and I don't know why I didn't. Maybe because our waitress was swamped (the place was very crowded for a Monday night) and she seemed to not be able to keep up with her section. Sad as they used to be so much better. Trying to get the food out fast is not such a good thing.

Great food with friendly service. Salmon is also good if you want something other than traditional tex mex.

The service has always been great. It's a little crowded and noisy. I could over look that if the food came out hot. Ordered Salsa Mex Nachos at the Frisco location. The place was cold? I mentioned to the waitress (after I went ahead and ate them even though they were somewhat cool...), she said next time ask for the plate to be heated? Only at this restaurant in Frisco is that necessary as usually everywhere else, the plate is very hot for nachos! LOL Even at the Prosper location! Next time I did just that! Nope, came out cold. This waitress said the cook said that's the way we serve them. Not going back...

My bestie knows I love nachos, so she suggested Salsa. There was a crowd so we ate at the bar. We both got the shrimp nachos and margaritas. When I tell you those nachos were on point, believe it. Lots of shrimp, lots of cheese. Great drinks. Our waiter? That's another story. I just chalked it up to "good help is hard to find." I'd definitely go again.

Great place for homestyle Tex mex if that's a thing. It's not fancy, but it's good cheap and fast. That's the magic combination.

A short while back, they did some nice remodeling indoors and added a patio expansion outside with a cover and heaters. It's wonderful to see the place evolving while still keeping its charm intact. The Tores white queso is a must-try, and trust me, the house margarita on the rocks is a game-changer. But here's a little tip: ask about their sauce selection on the side. The molcajete sauce is a smoky, spicy burst of deliciousness that complements the dishes beautifully. Be prepared to wait for a short while during peak hours. The longest we've ever waited is around 25 mins because they do a great job of getting tables in and out without making guests feel rushed. This place is an absolute gem and definitely worth checking out.

This is one of our go-to places! The shrimp tacos are to die for! They are seasoned so well and are ample sized shrimp. The tortilla that it is in , is lined with perfectly melted/fried cheese. The salsa her is good and so is the bean dip....margaritas are decent. We have never had a bad meal here and service is always excellent. This location on Main Street in Frisco is always busy! Be prepared for a short wait or go outside of the lunch and dinner rush! If you do have to wait, it is worth it!!!!

The brisket tacos were awesome! The beans and rice were really good too. My husband had the beef enchiladas and chicken. He said they were good too. Baldo was our server. The service was awesome too!

We have eaten here several times over the years and it's been hit and miss. When we actually stay and eat the food is generally good. The service is spotty at best (tonight (7.8.23) we walked out after not being served upon being seated after 10 minutes). Place is pretty clean and easily accessible to get to. I'd really like to give this place a better rating however after multiple times over the years a 3 is the best I can offer.

We had to pleasure of being served by RACHEL. She was extremely sweet patient and helpful with our ordering options. The food was delicious and will definitely be back.

The staff told me my credit card was declined and asked for a second card. They ended up charging me twice for the same meal (once on each card). Now I have to get my credit card company involved and maybe others ... seems like an easy scam.

Good visit to Salsa on Sunday night. We got there a little after 8, and unlike our previous visit on a busy Friday night, we were seated immediately. My wife and I both had the Pollo con Hongos, which is a grilled chicken breast covered in grilled vegetables. Served on a hot skillet, it's kind of like chicken fajitas, only the breast isn't cut up, and the veggies are slightly different. The chicken was tender and juicy, and it had great taste. The charro beans were good, and I again substituted grilled veggies, which are yummy, for the standard rice. My chicken could've been a bit bigger, but by the end of the meal, I was quite satisfied with what I had. My daughter had the combo fajitas, and she thought they were better than last time. Service was consistent, yet not overly friendly. I didn't penalize our waitress; perhaps she was just having a bad day...she wasn't rude or inattentive, just real curt with her responses and quick to move on. Some days that's how it goes I guess.

Wow, didn't know what to expect if it was more family owned but not sure because of the multiple locations. Walked in and wasn't exactly hole in the wall but not upscale. This place was packed on a Thursday around 8 pm. The booth seats were kinda gross, I could see little hand prints so definitely not wiped down. We got what I thought was booklet for menu. When that happens I get nervous because places like that try to make a lot but not very good. I was wrong!!! We shared apps and one steak fajita entree. Also had margaritas. Everything was really good and cooked correctly. I shared the steak quesadilla. I asked for light cheese and it was perfect. I could taste all components and the tortilla was so good. Sometimes it can be really dry or greasy. This has the right amount of everything so it was toasty and firm. Not dry or soggy. I had the Don Julio skinny margarita. It was the right amount of tart and not overly sweet. Got 2 and definitely did the trick. Service was awesome. Our waitress was so sweet and cracking us up. I think her name was Hailee. I would absolutely be back to try more of everything!

I love this place! Food is amazing, no matter what you order. Crowded sometimes which makes service slow. Nice ambiance. This place is now my go to.

2 stars because I like the food in general but should be 1 star. My son and I called in to place a to go order and we were put on hold and person never came back to the phone. Hung up and called back, different person happened again. If you are too busy to take to go orders, just say that. It's a bummer but I would at least understand. To just drop phone and walk away is unacceptable in my eyes. We shall see if we ever make it back, pretty disappointing service at a place we as a family used to enjoy.

We recently visited specifically seeking the almighty greasy TexMex + margarita combination and this place hit the spot! I thought we'd have to wait an hour visiting on a Sunday but even though they were slammed, we got seated quick. Awesome prices for yummy food and the drinks were on point, too. Service great, also. Only complaint is it can get super loud but that's not a deal breaker.

Always a fan. This is one of or favorite go to Mexican food restaurants. It is not highbrow or fancy, however the did recently update the decor. But we don't come here to be cool. We love their food and drinks. Especially during happy hour. I prefer their specialties (versus the standard Tex-Amex like tacos and enchiladas). The following are ALWAYS our favorites and you should try them. - Brisket Tacos - Acopulco - Pollo Con Crema - Pollo Con Hongo - Pollo De La Casa All the Pollo dishes are huge, overflowing with fresh veggies and served on a hot skillet. So good. I always end up bring some home as leftovers. Kids always order fajita nachos. This place is always packed around 5-7. So come early if you can. They just opened a new larger patio, so that may help during the cooler evenings. The service staff has been there for a long time. So management must be good. We've been going for 10 years and many of them seem to have been there the whole time. Parking is tough. Be patient.

Love this little Mexican restaurant in a strip center. I have been numerous times. It is always busy but there is always room for us!! The chicken fajitas are excellent, chips great and any other Mex Tex entrees have been great!! I recommend this place and will keep going back!!

I wanted to like it...but my shredded chicken was sweet for some odd reason. Salsa taste like cilantro and that about it. Queso was ok. Service was great

The food is out of this world. As a authentic real Mexican I feel I know Mexican food. Don't be scared by the TexMex name this is the real stuff.

The place was noisy and packed to the gills on a Friday night (understandable). Food was fresh and tasty . The chips/salsa were in the Goldilocks zone (just perfect). Even though it was busy, the service was quick ! Overall a very satisfying experience!!!

UPDATE: Salsa Tex Mex remains DELICIOSO! We eat Lorre during every visit to Frisco. Location on Main St with plenty of parking. Service is excellent. So many amazing menu options.

These guys are great. Hitting on all cylinders. Service and food great. Atmosphere is good but it does get crowded. Food is best Mexican in town. Love them.

I am going to lower the rating again. The waitstaff is terrible. I am so nice and I try to engage them in conversation and be nice but they all seem so angry and so ready to get me out of here. I am sad about this because their food is excellent, but I tip really well and I like to have them respond when I ask them questions or ask for something.

The food is extremely well prepared. Last few visits we have ordered "The Acapulco" and shared between both of us. The Black bean dip comes out warm at the start and is great with the bowls of Red and Green sauce. The service was pretty good, but service with a smile is not part of the training. After watching the wait staff, it is pretty evident they do not want to be there or the management is hard to work for, because nobody smiles, including the hostesses up front. In fact the hostesses will say "Thanks for Coming In", and never once look up from their personal cell phone. Again the food is great and is still worth the stop. But if you are looking for Service with a Smile, this isn't the place to be. As well the servers were very non-apparent after your food came, so make sure you get your Tea and water filled before the meal is served.

We visit Salsa Tex Mex quite often and have to say. Our visit on 10/2/2024 was the best night ever. Let me say previous visits have been great BUT this night, our server Silmy was absolutely fabulous. Great personality, very knowledgeable and very attentive. She was the best server we had encountered in a while given this day and how customer service has become. To top it off the manager Gonzalo stopped by and he was equally as kind and super fun to chat with. Great place, great food and phenomenal customer service. Love this place!

Best tex mex place. We are never disappointed with food or service. This is my family's go to place when we are looking for a restaurant.

I've always had a good experience here. It was a bit more enjoyable to eat there when they didn't gave as many tables jammed in. Food is good, we've started getting it to go!

The food is always good and made fresh and fast. They have good chips and salsa and queso. This is one of our go tos for Mexican. Service is usually good we always get a waitress who is helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. We always enjoy our dinner here.

I work close to Salsa and have picked up lunch for my staff and they are always so nice! Food is always good!

What a Great Surprise! My family stopped by on a Saturday evening and the place was full of people. It was 3 of us and we were seated immediately. The menu had a large variety to choose from for the family. For food we ordered the chicken tostadas, Saul's Platter and quesabirria tacos. Chicken tostadas plate was full, tasted great, and enough for two people or two days. Saul's platter is what my wife ordered.... She was humming the whole time and just kept shaking her head with joy. I ordered the birria tacos. These are the best I've had since living here. The beef was cooked to perfection and seemed to have been marinated and had a hint of citrus that went nicely with the consome when dipping. Charro black beans were seasoned well and had a light smokey flavor. The server we had (Fatima) was energetic and vibrant. She was only on her third or fourth day working there, but you couldn't tell. She had a great attitude, stopped by just the right amount of times. Ask to sit in Fatima's area to get great service and make sure you tip her well.

This is always good food and service. Ambience is a little loud but the price and quality is good.

One of the best Tex Mex in the area! The tortilla chips here are so thin and crispy with three different dips including the beans. I got the beef nachos and loved how it wasn't messy like other places-- so much meat on each nacho with plenty of sour cream, cheese, and jalapeños! They have great happy hour and margaritas are no joke. You can tell they don't go easy on their tequilas.

If you go here to eat, do not order the tamales! I had the worst tamales I have ever had in my life - 3/4 masa and only 1/4 meat. Service was incredibly slow. We finally had to ask our waitress to take our food order. Not only was the service slow but the A/C must have not been working properly because it was extremely warm. All in all, it was disappointing!

I love this place. I've only ever had the best service and food experience. The beans, the salsa, the fried stuffed jalapeno are all GOATed. This place is always busy, so you know it's good! Special shout out to Hayley who goes above and beyond! You really took care of my family when they were visiting. I can't say enough nice things about her.

Gotta love Salsa TexMex!! The best texmex ever! Food is great! It feels like it's homemade. It's very flavorful and not greasy at all! Portions are HUGE. Complimentary chips and beans spread just make it a perfect experience. Service is fast and it's a spacious place.

Brisket burrito was HUGE and very good. Love the salsas and bean dip for the chips. Sangria swirl was great.

Love this place! Food is great and always nice employees here So welcoming as well we always come here for Sunday
