Yelp
Salt & Honey is just the sort of business I am drawn to, with their focus on local handmade and artisan products. They are currently located at The Gateway, right next to a parking garage entrance, and there is a decent bit of street parking, too.
I found offerings to skew a little more crafty than I'd expected, and was also surprised by the large selection of goods for kids. That is great if you have children, but of less use to me personally. On the other hand, I also did not realize they have Maeberry Vintage goodies, and I LOVE that vendor. Items are sort of in sections by seller/crafter, but not entirely, and there are some attractively arranged displays with a mix of brands.
Michigan by Milk Carton Kids wafted through Salt & Honey's speakers, disposing me to like them all the more...Swoon! They had a cutie complimentary hot cocoa bar, though I don't think that is an "all the time" thing. I was particularly excited to see Hexeh fragrance and bath and body products (high quality, glorious scents), Ritual Chocolate (even their new specialty inclusion bars), Good + Well Supply Co's beautiful national park candles, and Simply Sweet Bakery cookies and other treats. Speaking of which, there were quite a few sweets along with other food items such as preserves, syrups, and honey. Additional offerings include a variety of art prints, jewelry and other accessories like bags, plus clothing, etc.
Prices are average. I did not interact with any employees, so cannot speak to customer service, but admittedly they were busy, so I don't think the absence of personal attention denotes any particular failing. Nothing specifically struck my fancy, so on this occasion I left empty handed, but they are putting together some fun seasonal markets (yes, plural - they are moving to the 9th and 9th area, but for the holidays will have both locations open), and I'll certainly need to stop by during that time to see what special offerings they have.
