Came during Christmas for their 90 minute experience with my son and family. Food was absolutely delicious. We shared the Happy Hour Nachos (so good), the taco platter, and the steak fajitas. The steak was super tender and perfectly cooked for the fajitas and tacos. Everything has a robust flavor and the ingredients blended perfectly. Although it was pretty busy, service was expected to be slow during the busy hours. We went on a 6:30 pm, walk-in and we were sat around 7pm. Food came out very quick and we took tons of photos, great atmosphere. The decorations were AWESOME! Take your kids. A reservation is recommended, but it is definitely is a family-friendly experience and worth the wait. I will be coming back every year for the Christmas experience. Very cute.

Google
Salt and Lime absolutely nailed the holiday spirit with their Christmas theme! The decorations were over-the-top festive and completely immersive—think twinkling lights and creative Christmas-themed touches at every turn. The food, as always, was fresh, flavorful, and packed with bold Mexican flavors. We were sadly one day too early for the Christmas cocktails, but their regular cocktails were really good too. The staff were in the holiday spirit, adding to the cheerful vibe, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming—perfect for celebrating the season with friends and family. If you’re looking for great food and festive vibes, this bar is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back next year!

Google
An overall average dining experience. The over the top decorations were cool. Unfortunately, the food and service were a bit of a letdown. I did like the chips and salsa.

Guadalupe Huerta

Google
Excellent service! Beautiful decorations! I love that they have Christmas movies all around… everything came out really fast, the server was very professional, she give us a few recommendations and everything was good…

Mark LoGiurato

Google
Nicely curated for Christmas Mexican restaurant serving authentic Mexican made-to-order food. The cocktails are made well, and the service is very good. The staff is very friendly as well.

Georgia Fischer

Google
Really fun decorations, and I hear the food is fabulous. There was a 45-60 min wait for lunch on Friday, so we didn't stay. Make a reservation or plan for a wait during busy times. I'll come back and try it again.

Alyse Gray

Google
Fun festive atmosphere for the holiday! The street tacos and the carnitas tostadas were delish as were the margaritas! Dining al fresco on the front patio available too to enjoy the mountains and sunshine. Service was friendly and fast. You should go!

If you are looking for a festive place to dine around Christmas in Scottsdale/Phoenix, this is the place. They go all out to decorate for the season, from the sleigh parked outside (but Santa was nowhere in sight), to the friendly snowman welcoming committee leading inside, to the interior walls and ceiling (every inch of which is lighted and sparkly). The ceiling is particularly amazing. They even change the name for the season, to the Feliz Navidad Cantina. We go every year at Christmas (and other times too) and sit at the bar, which is surrounded by TVs playing Christmas movies continuously (though on our most recent visit I was disappointed to see sports playing on two of them, which has never happened before). When we arrived the place was packed, both inside and in the sheltered outdoor patio area. We found two seats at the bar, got into the holiday spirit with holiday cocktails (or did the holiday spirit get into us?), then enjoyed the Street Tacos with an inexpensive bottle of red. We left feeling very Christmasy, and looking forward to our next visit.

Sharon S.

Yelp
Staff is hardly what it used to be! Seemed very disappointing to us tonight. Does nobody smile anymore? Inviting welcomes as well as thanks for visiting isn't a priority anymore? I feel like management there is below par! It all comes from management! Sorry!

Thaovi T.

Yelp
The Christmas decor at Salt and Lime Mexican Cafe is absolutely gorgeous and festive-it really puts you in the holiday spirit! The twinkling lights and thoughtful details create such a cheerful atmosphere, perfect for a seasonal outing. That said, the experience didn't quite live up to the hype. We had to wait an hour to get a table, and unfortunately, the food and overall service didn't justify the lengthy wait. While the menu offers a decent selection of Mexican dishes, the flavors were just average-not bad, but nothing extraordinary to warrant such a long wait. If you're looking for a fun spot to enjoy holiday vibes and don't mind the wait, it migh* be worth a visit.

Arthur R.

Yelp
Ambiance horrible. Vinyl seats in all the booths are worn out and splitting. Usually when I see this would walk away They used to give you chips and salsa with your meal. Now charge for them The menus are black. Impossible to read them without a flashlight Food still good

Will H.

Yelp
Be me, come here for a Christmas themed meal. Decorations are cool, wow so fun! Eat some mid enchiladas and have two margaritas with the worst mix you've ever had in your life :( Get the bill: 48 dollars Oh cool she didn't charge us for the shitty drinks, that's nice Put card down Get bill back 85 dollars WTF? Ask what happened Server gaslights you: oh, is it wrong? Well... you gave me a bill that said a completely different amount and then came back double. That seems weird and a little fraudulent don't you agree? *blank stare* Leave and never come back

Nina T.

Yelp
As soon as we sat down, the hostess came out and told us we have 90 minutes at this time in which once we have 30 minutes left, they will stop serving food and drinks to us and we will need to pay. Now, I can understand this if it's very busy but we came on a Sunday early afternoon and can't imagine them being extremely busy. If you have a large party or with friends and want to have a couple of drinks, then I'm sorry but 90 minutes isn't going to be enough. Their house margarita on the happy hour was $11 ($14 original) it was "OK" you can taste the artificial syrup and honestly should be at $9 range. Christmas Enchiladas served with a cup of side salad - Good Nachos - Good Carne Asada Burrito "OK". More mediocre than anything. Tortilla Soup - not Ok. Yes, there a charge for chips and Salsa $5 AND a 3% Card fee.

Amber M.

Yelp
Amazing!! The holiday display they do is so awesome! Decorations are literally everywhere. Not to mention the happy hour menu is really good and decent deals!

Mike C.

Yelp
We thankfully had reservations as the wait on a Thursday was over an hour. They definitely go all out for Christmas and the atmosphere is really cool. Service was good and food came out very fast for how busy it was. The chicken fajitas were really good. Definitely get the Charo beans as they were the best. The enchilada sauce was not the best but it wasn't bad. Not a place I would come back to as I don't think the food is worth the price.

Arizona G.

Yelp
We went for the Feliz Navidad Cantina experience and while they did a really nice job with all of the Christmas decor, the rest of the experience wasn't great. The food is so-so and overpriced. $19.75 for ceviche that is packed with pico de gallo but very little fish & shrimp is absurd. Also, heads up that they charge a 3% "Technology Fee" if you pay by card.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Very festive spot for getting in the Christmas vibe overload while eating some decent Mexican food or enjoying margs.

Amber G.

Yelp
This is not a spot that is in my top 5 list..... and not sure why. Love the food here. Love the staff. Mason was an amazing waiter. Very attentive and sweet. Taytum was also great. She recommended the chicken quesadilla and it is probably one of the best quesadillas I've had. We ordered another one to go- for tomorrow! It's so good. It's like a tinga chicken and the sauce that comes with it MAKES IT. So many tacos to choose from. We got the ahi and the molé! The mole was our favorite. I love having my wine....... And this is probably #1 spot for wine! That pour was HUGE. I'm sure half a bottle of wine in that glass. One of the few Mexican restaurants I've been to that do not serve chips and salsa just because. Amazing margaritas

Aubrey Z.

Yelp
The vibes were cool but that's about it. Was excited to come here but I got 3 different tacos and my boyfriend also got three different tacos (meaning between us we tried 6 different options from the menu) and none of them had good flavor

MissJuanita F.

Yelp
THE BEST tamales I have EVER experienced!! DELICIOUS!!! Decor and ambiance was also amazing around Christmas time with all the decor! Can't wait to go back

Rob D.

Yelp
Amazing lunch. Chicken lettuce wraps were so good. The other meals my table ordered were equally as impressive. I'd return in a heartbeat.

Heidi M.

Yelp
OMG, when I found out that Salt and Lime was hosting a Feliz Navidad holiday pop-up, I knew I had to check it out! We decided to visit after Christmas since they were fully booked when I first tried to make a reservation. They have this wonderful 90-minute experience in a festive setting. As soon as we stepped inside, it felt like we had been transported to Santa's house! The extravagant Christmas decorations were truly impressive! Our server mentioned that it takes them about three days to set everything up! It's the most epic spot for taking Christmas photos, and let's not forget about the food! It was incredible!! We ordered the chili verde skillet, guacamole and chips, Christmas enchiladas, a carne asada burrito, and chicken mole. The drinks were just okay in my opinion, but the chili verde skillet was the highlight. It was such a fun experience, and even though they were really busy, our server, Hailey, was excellent! We will definitely come back if they host it again next year!

Robyn F.

Yelp
The margaritas delicious. We tried 3 of the salsas and chips . My favorite was the tomatillo. Fresh and full of flavor. The Green enchiladas with chicken tinga . So delicious. Rice was a bland ( chef needs to use more Mexican ingredients) the charro beans were delicious. Our server Chandler was very accommodating and cheerful. This maybe our new go to for Mexican . Good job!

Meridith H.

Yelp
The Christmas decorations are really cool and festive. Friendly staff and food was tasty, fresh and seasoned nicely seasoned. Definitely will go back.

Angelina C.

Yelp
I was hesitant to come and take part in the Feliz Navidad pop-up. I envisioned expensive parking, a cold wait in a long line and food that was just not worth it... Boy was I wrong. This is the place to bring the family or just come with friends and enjoy Christmas themed cocktails and delicious Mexican food. The wait staff and hostesses were so kind and Christmasy. The photo opportunities were abundant and every inch of this place is covered in Christmas joy. TVs lineup all over the restaurant with Christmas movies galore. Great venue to host your family's Christmas dinner but make sure you reserve a spot.

Kasey G.

Yelp
6/5 experience for Christmas season The decorations are out of this world, everything is wrapped and lit up from the entrance to the bathrooms. I think you can tell a lot about a place off their nachos and they were amazing. My tacos were good and my friend had the tamales that looked delicious The specialty drinks are good but sweet and not too decorative for the holidays based off the 2 margaritas but I enjoyed the rumplemintz martini Service was great too, will be back

John K.

Yelp
This place was fun. The decoration are way overboard. Food is excellent. Service was very professional. Order the guacamole was wonderful!

Janette I.

Yelp
The Christmas vibe was amazing! The food wasn't bad but the Christmas decorations and the customer service was top notch. I would say, if you are visiting Arizona or live in Arizona this restaurant is totally a MUST to be checked out during the holidays season!

Howie S.

Yelp
Why not just increase all prices 3% - bad marketing/PR in my opinion on charging a 3% fee and $5 for chips & salsa where "a portion of the proceeds go to charity". - not the same experience as the original on Shea & 92nd unfortunately

Jenna D.

Yelp
Great service, tasty nachos and food. What else could I ask for? The margaritas were tasty and I loved the touch of the colored salt on the rim. I just had a typical one, with salt, on the rocks, but even the house tequila was better than other places I've been. We started with chips and salsa (duh) and the chips were warm, thick, and super crispy. I'm a weirdo and prefer the folded or curled ones and those were plentiful. In fact, the chips were so good that we got a plate of nachos as well. My other friend was good and got the kale salad - we had to balance it out! That being said, her salad did look pretty awesome. It was pretty dead at 3pm - yes, most people might be at work - but we were able to take advantage of their happy hour. We got to sit outside in the lovely Arizona sun and enjoy a quiet meeting of friends. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and everything came out quickly. I really can't complain! It was just such a nice experience and I'm glad we went there.

James M.

Yelp
We hoped that our experience with Salt and slime would be positive but it wasn't. The food was mediocre, the prices were high for the value and they have the nerve of charging 3% for credit card utilization. They are opening in Cave Creek where I live and based on my experience they won't be in business long, just like the Mexican restaurant they are replacing who suffered from many of the same issues.

Erik F.

Yelp
Great service and food experience on a Sunday afternoon. This place is a must for the holiday time, as it is over the top Christmas! It was still "wrapped up" mid January. We had the usual chips and salsa to start, with an added more-picante salsa, as well a queso. Also had the Diablo Eggs, which had a light creamy flavor. Not the heat I was expecting. For an entree, we split carne asada tacos. I rarely order carne asada as often less-tender. The GF was adamant to order, and yes they fit my expectation, although good. Happy to observe the bartender giving the bar a wipe down upon our arrival. This is a basic step for any establishment and often overlooked. I prefer to eat on a clean surface. No menu tossed down on glass/bottle rings please. I did not pay attention to a "technology fee" as described in another review. If true, this is a bit of a dealbreaker for me, or I just subtract it from the tip percent (sorry... if you force me to pay extra, the server will get less $).

Adi A.

Yelp
The Holiday decor was incredible.. the service was very good too .. the house Margarita was on point ..but the food was alright and for the price of a meal .. they can be more generous with beans and rice .. which you only get 1/3 of a cup of each . We understand that it's more modern flare but c'mon .

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Birthday lunch was amazing. Chips are super thin and not greasy and the salsa...so good. I had two tacos and my mom had the potato taquitos ...all was delicious! Great service as well. The sopapillas were incredible...drizzled with cinnamon sugar, chocolate, and caramel! Fabulous!

Tierna M.

Yelp
The Christmas holiday decorations are so amazingIt was worth to see every square inch decorated including the bathroom! The food is good. They have a lot of Christmas food and drinks too! The service was slow and our waiter tried however he was not amazing. The decorations are the reason to go for sure!

Jen K.

Yelp
WOW - we had such a fabulous meal at Salt & Lime! I have been wanting to try this restaurant since last Christmas, because I heard they go all out with fun decorations, but I'm so glad we went on a whim today! They do happy hour all day on Sundays which was a *very* pleasant surprise, and the food and drinks were phenomenal! Loved the queso! The inside is decorated with tons of fun decor even when it's not Christmas time. I actually think this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the vicinity of our neighborhood! They had a great music playlist going too! Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!!!

Caleb M.

Yelp
Imma be honest, this food was not it. First of all, how do you not have cholula, tobasco, tapatio, etc. at a Mexican restaurant? That's wild. Me and the homie ordered some chilaquiles and a breakfast burrito, neither one of these dishes had flavor. The service I will say was cool, food got out quick, servers were cool, but man that food was a let down, respectfully.

ally o.

Yelp
The decorations at Salt & Lime for the holiday season are incredible! The food was great and the mimosa flight was just as good.

David B.

Yelp
The waitress chased after us OUTSIDE the restaurant, shouting at us for "advice" to earn a higher tip. I was confused because I thought she meant I didn't leave a tip. But her crying worked because she was given an additional $20 bill and she plucked it, quickly turned and ran back inside. She did not even say "Thank you" or "Good bye. Come back soon!" Management needs better training, I can't blame the young girl. And Management needs to post the tip policy amount since your staff is enforcing it on your customers This is my first and last time at Salt and Lime. There are many other Mexican Food options in the area.

Dave B.

Yelp
Went to check out christmas lights as the wife read they decorate and make it fun. The place inside looked awesome. 5 stars on appearance and such. But dang, 9 bucks for a taco? Like as in one taco. The tacos i ordered were good but not worth the money. Would like to go back but would need to leave kids at home so we can afford to get some 11 dollar margaritas. Cool place though, don't go hungry, and you will have some fun!

Jess M.

Yelp
Excellent food and drinks, Christmas event is adorable! Service was quick, friendly, and great?

Jeff L.

Yelp
I really liked the food in this unique restaurant. The owner goes pretty crazy for the christmas season and it was just starting to get sparkling there in mid-November. I had a great short-rib enchelida which was super good and a huge porition. I did refried and black beans (not a rice fan) and both ere very good. I would go back there and the margarita's were really good too. It is a small space and it was packed on the Friday night but we got a table the chips and spicy salsa kept on coming.

Emily M.

Yelp
I went here on December 1st expecting the full 90 minute Christmas experience as advertised on Instagram. The waitress said they did not have any of the holiday drinks that were posted on 11/27 and 11/30. There was nothing on the post saying the drinks would not be available until a certain date. I guess they had to make their way in from the North Pole. Totally ridiculous! Then I ordered a glass of wine only to get a dirty glass with someone else's lipstick still on it. Overall, would not recommend.

Nancy A.

Yelp
First time here. Send for happy hour dinner. Endless chips and salsa were delicious. Homemade guacamole was delicious. We also had street tacos, enchiladas, tortes and Casio and chips. Service was great and the drinks were wonderful. Loved the way the restaurant was decorated. Definitely going back.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
Looked forward to some Mexican with some dear friends of ours from out of town...checked in....Told us it was a 30 minute wait....half the tables were empty but ok.....we were also told the bar is reserved as well...ok, noticed half the bar seats were also empty...... So we went up to get a drink right, Saturday, 30 minute wait, have a toast with our friends......wait. We were approached by one of the hostesses who informed us we would not be allowed to order a drink at the bar.....wait what? She said the bar seats are reserved, we said, we know we have our name in and were just interested in getting a drink while we wait. She told us no, we were not allowed to order a drink while we waited. So we all looked at each other and said this is totally wrong and we just all said lets get out of here.....and the hostess following us out said, and I quote,..."Good get out of here!" WTF? As we left this nut house the manager got in front of us and reaffirmed what the hostess had done and she told us...."This is not a bar, this is a restaurant..." Wow....so we were suppose to sit outside this place and wait 30 minutes to sit down and get something to drink and eat. I don't know about you but this was the worst example of how not to treat not only a customer but a person in general. Do not go to Salt and Lime....they will treat you like dirt. They have no idea who they are insulting with this behaviour.

Shakira E.

Yelp
Another successful Christmas Cantina celebration at Salt and Lime in Scottsdale. The cheerful vibe and delicious food and drink are a holiday season must. The service and staff are always great and every year this is the spot I look forward to visiting for a bit of Christmas cheer!

Sharron G.

Yelp
Back again, likely meeting the same GF as the last time I reviewed it. This time I had the potato taquitos. VERY good. Their rice is a little bland so I skipped it and saved a few calories. We noticed what appeared to be aluminum foil on the walls and cannot help if this is their start of holiday decor? It was just odd. The poor waitress was there by herself (tending bar and waiting tables), nonetheless she was attentive and took care of us with ease. Definitely going back! Thanks for reading my review.

Robert C.

Yelp
WTF TECHNOLOGY 3% FEE! I thought this was the Salt and Lime in San Diego, definitely NOT. The only reason its not 1 star is the Margaritas were good. The nacho, poppers were substandard, the devils eggs were good. The place looks like its on its way out. The decor is way too dark in there. A friend said not to go here and I said I had been to Salt and Lime in San Diego and there are amazing but if this place is related its the red headed step child they beat to death. Will not be coming back.

Richard S.

Yelp
Back for lunch again. I had to show my wife and daughter the incredible Christmas decorations. Of course the food is the primary reason to come. The tacos on the lunch menu are a super deal - select any two from their extensive list of tacos. My daughter went for the mole bowl; my wife the chicken green chilli enchiladas Good times for all - ya'll come - hear?

Dan L.

Yelp
Great visit to Salt and Lime. Our service was attentive and timely. The spinach wrap/chicken quesadilla and chicken mole bowl were flavorful. We also tried a glass of Maddalena cabernet from Paso Robles which was tasty and a nice value. The holiday decorations are still up which made the environment extra festive and fun.

Denise M.

Yelp
We went here for the amazing Christmas decorations, but the food and cocktails were great!

Stacey L.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! I usually get the chicken poppers and a skinny margarita. Both are great. However I'm desperately waiting for the new Tatum location to open. It's much closer to me. I hope it has the same atmosphere as Shea.

Sierra O.

Yelp
Went to Salt & Lime for the first time last night and it was amazing! It's all decked out for Christmas right now which is a bonus, but the food and drinks were exceptional, on top of the service. Our server was Zach and he was extremely attentive and nice, always checking up on us and making sure we were having a good time!! Highly recommend and would definitely go back

Angela Z.

Yelp
Food is okay, Christmas drinks are horrible. Service is slow and the owner is overbearing.

Michael B.

Yelp
WOW WOW WOW this place was amazing! We arrived little before 3 on a Saturday and the staff was very friendly and we got a table right away! The food was extremely good but I was worried I was not sure if it was going to be authentic Mexican and was very happy it was! The Christmas decorations I cant explain but you got to see this place when they go all out! Great location! Great Food! Great Staff! Great happy hour prices!

Matt M.

Yelp
Not thrilled with my experience here and won't be back. If my entree is $25+ at a Mexican restaurant then I don't expect to be shaken down like I'm flying a budget airline. $5 for chips and salsa 3.5% "Technology Fee" for using a credit card No thanks!

Brian R.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I got the barbacoa enchiladas. I also had the house margaritas and the were delish too. The server was prompt and courteous. I recommend this place.
