I heard about this place because its on the top 10 cafe list in Cape Town so my expectations were a bit high. Also, that it provides a great view of kalk bay… not really there’s a bunch of traffic right in front? I ordered the burger and it was quite disappointing, the bun was boring. Burger wasn’t flavored intentionally and it lacked additional flavor or sauces. I was holding on to the pickle and mayonnaise for any sort of originality. The wasabi dusted calamari salad was quite good. Rich with avocado and pink ginger. A little too much sauce for me, but now people provably enjoy that.

Cool, intimate tapas spot that offers bigger plates as well. Everything food we tried was amazing, cocktails were great. This place is 100% worth a stop if you’re in the area. We actually went twice while we were around! Stoked they were open late as we are late eaters!

We love this little spot especially for breakfast. The Vegan Dream and Breakfast Bun are firm favourites for us. Great coffee and an amazing vibe

It's a pretty good spot but I think I only enjoyed half of the small plates we ordered, and we got around 6 or 7. Not really an issue of quality but the flavours weren't hitting for me.

Had an incredible time at SALT in Kalk Bay! The vibe is relaxed yet stylish, with stunning views that make it the perfect spot to unwind. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed, which made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re there for a meal or just a few drinks, SALT is definitely a must-visit in Kalk Bay.

I love seaside understated. Food good, coffee good, service good, not imposing we were here for a long reunion catch up, wine good. Will always be back!

Absolutely unreal restaurant ! Amazing views of the bay and such friendly staff, the food menu is very London small plates but in the best way! We had a lovely meal, the pork was fabulous as was the fish and the crispy chicken bao bun was the best I’ve ever had!

The breakfast menu was quite average and the shakshuka was disappointing, lacking flavour and even tomato. The menu overall feels like it needs more thought and depth. My partner unfortunately found hair in his food, which was upsetting, and while one server was defensive about it, another handled the situation well and was much more professional. We’ve had better experiences here in the past, which made this visit especially disappointing. Fresh juices were good though.
