Salt Lick Safari Lodge

An amazing stay!! Timely communication even before arrival, the reception was great with incredibly friendly and attentive staff. The property is sparkling clean. The location is breathtaking with stunning views we got to see animals especially elephants right from the lodge😃, in addition we had 2 amazing game drives. The pool is also strategically placed overlooking the game reserve. There was also a wide variety of food and I loved the pasta most. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for luxury, peaceful getaway with a touch of adventure😊

Incredible place on all levels - views, national park, hotel facilities and most importantly the staff. We booked with Somak Travel and had a driver and guide Mohamed (Bin Jey) touring round Taita Hills with us - he was incredible and we would HIGHLY recommend booking to tour with him. He ensured animals were well respected at all times and his passion for the job was admirable. Thank you Mohamed! We were made to feel so special on our honeymoon by the dining team, particularly Geoffrey, who gathered the team together to sing Jambo Bwana to us and deliver a congratulatory cake! He and the team also secretly delivered some treats with more congratulatory messages to our room! We appreciated all staff and on our last morning Geoffrey and Joash had saved the best table in the house for us to have our final breakfast with the perfect view of the watering hole.

What a wonderful lodge. Did not know what to expect and was blown away by the experience. Great service from pick-up and drop-off at Voi train station, to the food and all the welcoming staff. The morning safari was amazing. The amount of animals we saw in just the first hour was crazy. You won't find a better wildlife watching experience. Up close and personal at the watering hole. Would come back in a heartbeat. Asante sana

From the very first moment I arrived at Salt Lick, I felt wrapped in warmth and genuine hospitality. The kindness of the staff carried through until the very last goodbye. A special shoutout to Anish, Rose and Joy who made every interaction feel personal ,the kind of service that lingers with you long after you leave. ||Woke up to sweeping views of the savannah, watching wildlife pass by beneath the lodge felt like living in the heart of a dream. The serenity, the sounds of nature, and the sheer beauty outside was pure perfection! ||The game drives were  equal parts awe and thrill, especially when a lioness in close range locked eyes with me and sent proper shivers down my spine - and not the romantic kind! Our guide, Philemon, was not only knowledgeable but truly passionate about what he does. ||Celebrating my birthday here was beyond special. Salt Lick gave me not just a stay, but an experience ,one where nature, hospitality, and adventure blended into memories I’ll treasure forever. I’d rate it higher than 5 stars if I could. |Thank you, Salt Lick team, for giving me a birthday I’ll carry in my heart always.

Location was absolutely amazing, the room was perfect. Our waiter Faraj was very good, excellent service. |The only downside was dinner felt more like a fast food canteen! Tables far too close together, people pushing at the buffet service. Although the food was good, with excellent variety.

The wild life is prolific here, watching out of our bedroom window, the restaurant windows and the bar balcony you can see animals living their best, natural life. |We stayed for 3 nights, and can honestly say that the hotel, staff and food was just perfect. ||We enjoyed 6 brilliant game drives with our assigned host driver Martin. Martin was knowledgeable, friendly and just the best safari guide possible! We saw so many animals stopping for photograph opportunities as and when we wished and gaining great insight into the many bird and animal species we saw, the landscape, weather systems as well as info on trees and plant life.|Thank you Martin and to the salt lick staff, we had truely the best time, you are all shining stars!!

Absolutely majestic. The elephants literally greeted us upon arrival. The safari is amazing but the animals also come to you at the lodge. Every single staff member that we interacted with was pleasant and informative. The chef asked for feedback graciously. The only addition I personally would have enjoyed would be greek yogurt for the breakfast but I didn’t see that anywhere in Kenya. The water is hot and plentiful. The food is delicious. The views are absolutely stunning. The bed is like a cozy cloud and we slept so good here as well. Thank you Salt Lick for an unforgettable experience we will treasure forever.

I had an incredible time. The staff there is nice and I met incredible people. The services were perfect and the food was nice. Loved the safaris and think it's a beautiful place. My personal favourites were Elsie and Hazel.
