Salt Lick Safari Lodge

We had an amazing stay at this safari lodge. The hotel is very beautiful and unique, surrounded by nature. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming, and the restaurant was excellent with delicious food. At the waterhole we saw a lot of wildlife, especially elephants and zebras, which was an unforgettable experience. It was truly a wonderful stay and a lifetime experience. Highly recommended!

Salt Lick Safari Lodge was a truly unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and well taken care of. The rooms are very beautiful with such spectacular views. We had elephants, zebras, and wildebeest right outside our room and that was truly magical. The food was excellent, compliments to the chef, and the service stood out. Special thanks to David M, our waiter, who was attentive and kind throughout, and Lewis, who made dining even more enjoyable. We traveled as a family of six with TrippyGo Tours & Travel, and our driver Peter Ngugi was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, patient, and made the journey smooth and very fun. Overall, incredible hospitality, great food, stunning views, and genuinely kind people. I'd highly recommend!

What a lovely place, with the most amazing views no matter which way you are looking. The staff, location, and food were wonderful. The head chef personally came to our table when we were having dinner on the evening of 26/12, we spoke for a little bit, but he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Rooms were small, but nobody is staying there just to spend time in their rooms.

We had an amazing time at the salt lick lodge. The atmosphere was great, and we saw many animals coming to the lodge for water during our stay. The food was fantastic, Emanuel the chef was super.|Elsie who worked in the restaurant was so lovely and friendly. And in general all of the staff took great care of us at all times. The rooms are unique, clean and have great beds. |Great value for the money.

The views are second to none. Truly magical and never ending. The staff are always so accomodating and ready to assist. Make sure to try the stargazing tour! It's so special! Romantic and educational at the same time. The team were engaging with us all the time, encouraging our curiosity and imagination. A wonderful activity for children and couples alike. A top ten lifetime experience will be had here!

The best place to stay while at Tsavo. We were able to spot lot of big game not forgetting the lioness with 4cubs yesterday and the dad at the lion's rock. I highly recommend this place to all my future guests for safari. Big up to Sam the Front office manager and all the reception and rangers who organised a night game drive. Spotting a melanistic serval cat was the highlight of my guests.

Best choice of the entire vacation. After full day safaris and lots of traveling, this is the perfect place to get pampered, have a bit more rest and have an even more intimate interaction with all the animals than during a regular safari. On arrival we already saw close to 50 elephants right in front of the place. We booked a room with view on the Waterhole, so we kept seeing and hearing them even from there. There were many more animals present as well so throughout the entire complex we kept our binoculars at hand to enjoy the view. They offer great short safaris, including walking tours and night safaris. After we came back from the late night safari, the lobby was nearly empty and we had a huge group of elephants right in front just for the 2 of us, it was unbelievable. They also have a nice tunnel that allows you to see all animals up close. We even saw a lioness with a kill in the morning. Plenty to see here. There was so much choice food wise, plenty of veggie options as well, good desert and all the staff were always incredibly polite. After checking out we still went for an additional lunch because it was just that good. On the really warm days with less animals and no planned safari you can also choose to go back to the taita hills Hotel and enjoy the pool there, so you can use both facilities to your liking.

We spent three nights at Salt Lick Safari Lodge and were absolutely amazed. From the lodge overlooking the waterhole, we watched elephants, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, baboons and many other species throughout the day – and even a lion passing by briefly at night. You never run out of things to see. Our morning, afternoon and night game drives were incredible. We witnessed a lioness taking down an oryx, saw a male lion at sunrise and enjoyed countless unforgettable wildlife moments. A special thanks to Philemon, our safari guide – truly outstanding. We’d also like to thank Musa, Elsa, Winnie, Christine, Odure, David, Daniel and Humphrey for their warm hospitality. They made our stay feel special from the first minute. Fantastic atmosphere, delicious food and a truly unique wildlife experience. Highly recommended!
