The Reeds at Shelter Haven Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"Across the street from the main building, the 6,000-square-foot Salt Spa at The Reeds houses a nail salon, hair and makeup studio, and treatment rooms for massages and facials, but its biggest selling point is the lavishly tiled Turkish bath where spa-goers can slather on salt scrubs and mud and then relax beneath a canopy of starry ceilings with steam, mellow music, and light therapy; there’s also a small snacks-and-tea area and a Brine Lodge for salt inhalation benefits, and daily morning yoga on the deck is suggested as a grounding way to start the day." - Lindsay Cohn

Really disappointed in the quality of both the products and the manicure itself. The attached photos were taken half an hour after leaving the spa: you can see nail polish on my fingers, and scratches on my nails. The job looks weeks old. I told the technician to clean up around the nails, but she just barely touched up with a file. I guess a lighter color would've been a better choice, because now all this mess is easy to spot.

My husband and I enjoyed a couples massage. It was fabulous, as was enjoying relaxing in the salt room afterwards. We each enjoyed the steam shower, which is located in the locker rooms. The facility was very clean and welcoming. we would highly recommend!

I had the most satisfying Deluxe Hydrafacial at the Spa. I can’t remember the last time my skin felt this clean, hydrated, and glowing. The whole experience was relaxing from start to finish, and the results were immediate. I recommend this (and Angela!) to anyone looking to give their skin a treat!

My husband and I loved our Romantic Getaway Package at the Salt Spa! A full day of pampering made the experience feel so special. The detoxifying mud treatment in the Turkish bath was such a fun and unique highlight, and the entire space was serene and relaxing. Tracy, Laura, and Kate were professional, attentive, and made sure we felt well taken care of from start to finish. It was definitely a splurge, but such a worthwhile way to unwind after our wedding day. We can’t wait to come back!

The staff was nice and the massage was not bad. We were not told that the spa closed at the end of our massage. We wanted to use the steam room and get a shower. The steam room was closed but I did get a quick shower. The shower didn’t work correctly. Only the handheld wand worked. None of the other shower features were working. The amenities should be available for an hour after the last service so clients do not feel rushed. The salt brine room is nice but there is a rather loud pump that goes off every few minutes which disrupts any relaxation. The ladies locker room is designed poorly. There is a very small area at the lockers to change. Only one person can fit and there is nowhere else to change. It’s also a bit awkward to be in the buff when people walk in and you are the focal point. Overall, this did not feel like a high end spa. Not worth the money and even for less money, I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m a local Reeds customer and enjoy dining and the sunset at the Reeds.

My massage therapist, Joe was amazing! He knew exactly the right amount of pressure to use, and worked his magic hands on my lower and upper back releasing all the tension and knots! I highly recommend Joe. He was a true professional who enjoys his clients. Thanks!

Best couples massage EVER. Tracy and Stefanie were both wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10/10 recommend them!

I would rate my massage at a B. I have had massages all over the country and that is what I can compare it to. My wife’s experience was substandard they prepped her for a massage but she was scheduled for a pedicure. The showers weren’t working properly and there weren’t towels for her after her shower. The mistake was she was shown to the locker room but she was scheduled for a Manicure. The receptionist check in was clueless.
