Salted Rim Bar & Kitchen

My husband and I stopped in on a Friday before the dinner rush (3:30pm), and this place is absolutely stunning. I didn’t get photos of the whole space, but I loved the overall vibe the moment we walked in. My husband ordered the pumpkin martini and felt it leaned a bit too sweet. I had the raspberry lemonade and really enjoyed it. I also loved their glassware, such a nice touch. For food, we tried the seafood ceviche, Hawaiian fried rice, and the apple empanada with ice cream. The ceviche was a standout, so fresh and flavorful. The fried rice, on the other hand, felt like it needed a little work. It was slightly dry and could’ve used more salt; a bit more soy sauce would’ve brought everything together. Everyone’s taste is different, though, so that may just be us. Now the apple empanada, this is what dreams are made of. The pastry was soft, warm, and perfectly flaky, and the ice cream complemented it beautifully. It’s fall on a plate, and I would come back just for that dessert alone. They’re still fairly new, so I’d give them some grace, but with how good much of the menu is, I can see them becoming reservations-only in the future. I had zero issues with customer service, everyone I interacted with was lovely. We would definitely return!

This might be my new spot in University Place. I stopped by on a Thursday night and the ambience was great and the drinks are tastefully crafted. I had the expresso martini & the strawberry margarita, I could not choose a favorite between the two, both were a 10/10! The customer service is attentive and welcoming. I am for sure coming back and trying out the food and re-ordering these drinks again! This is a must try place and ideal for a date night or girls night.

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, excellent food & drink, and fantastic service. I had the burger, Vietnamese chicken wings and an old fashioned - all were delicious! Salted Rim is exactly what University Place needed - thank you for bringing some life & love to our town center. Highly recommended! 👌

The food and drinks were amazing. I ordered the Pad Kra Pao, and it tasted exactly like authentic Thai food — Thai lady approve! My husband got the burger, and it was delicious as well. Highly recommend. The ambience was perfect. The owner, the family, and all the staff were so kind and happy to help us. We really appreciated their warm customer service. The place is still new, but I suggest calling ahead to reserve your spot. We waited about 30 minutes, but we were also a party of eight, and they were pretty busy. If you have more than four people, definitely call in advance.

Great service overall! My favorite dish is the Thai chicken curry, though I initially received it with only one piece of chicken in the soup likely because they were very busy. Thankfully, our server, Pipper (not sure if that’s her name or the correct spelling), was incredibly accommodating and replaced it for us, which I really appreciated! This was our second visit to this restaurant, and I highly recommend it. The owners are very involved, attentive, and genuinely kind.

We’ve gone four times in the last two months, since we discovered this gem! The food is amazing, the staff is so welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. Mei Young and Lauren were so awesome during our last visit. I can’t say there is any place like it, especially in this area. The drinks are so good and so reasonably priced! This place is a must try!!

I got pb&j cocktail and my friend had espresso martini. We went on a Sunday around 1pm and we were seated right away. Staffs were very friendly and frequently checked on us with a smile, which sets a really good vibe for the place. I enjoyed my cocktail and garlic parm fries : )

We tried the Beef Wellington balls, hummus platter, and chicken and beef skewers. They were fine but the beef in both dishes was tough. They need to upgrade on the beef quality for sure. The drinks were done very well. I had the purple rain margarita and Mrs Harvey's. Both excellent. My friend had a smoky tequila drink I can't remember the name but she thought it was amazing. The service was great. The atmosphere was pleasant. I will definitely return to try more dishes.
