We are staying here so we decided to join this for Christmas's Eve dinner. With the big commitment we decided to join this place for a light dinner and drink the day before. We got the pork cheek and mixed greens with grilled chicken and the west fork margarita, all were decently good - 7.7 out of 10. When it came to the big Christmas's Eve dinner, we got a different experience. Maybe the head chef took the day off? What were edible were the mixed greens salad, the main components of the main courses, the beef and the duck - not overly salty and cooked to the right temp; the desserts were good, the funnel cake with ice cream was good, the tart was very very rich and a bit on the heavy side. What were not edible were - one - the soup - it came in a bread bowl and appeared to have leaked the soup outside of the bread bowl and onto the shallow plate - multiple reasons why this dish was so bad and should not have been served - the pool of diluted broth was not very appertizing to look at, and due to this massive leakage, there was no soup inside the bread bowl, and the very unusually packed potatoes cubes were uncooked. It was a dry uncooked potatoes mixture that was once called soup :) - I didn't eat this and our waitress offered to serve a non-bread container soup to me and I declined because I don't want a bowl of uncooked potatoes. Second, the potatoes gratin was so salty, it was inedible. The 98% of that salty potatoes square stayed on the plate and made it back to the trash in the kitchen. The potatoes theme tonight is not very potatoes-ing :). Third, it's more about the consistency and in service, the hostess offered me a blanket when she showed us our table (out of her own kindness) because it was a cold night, and she never actually brought it to me; and our table's decoration was missing a cactus, all the others had them - wonder where the cactus was at (perhaps it was hanging out with the uncooked and salty potatoes ?). The hotel itself has been great, I would come back and stay, but I am afraid of running into similar experience at the restaurant, so sadly I will look for other options.

We ate there last week for a late lunch. We are from Michigan and with freezing weather at home we wanted to sit outside to get some sun while we could. It started to get a little cold when the sun went behind the building so they brought us blankets, turned on overhead heater and moved a portable one by us. Their hospitality was as amazing and the food was also amazing. Would highly recommend.

Server was nice, they filled drinks quickly at first but then never came back after we received our meals. Not a great selection for breakfast. We settled with chicken and waffles and country Benedict. Presentation was fantastic, but didn't make up for the lack in taste. Little seasoning and the breading didn't even stick to the chicken.

What delicious food! Upon arrival, valet was included when dining at the restaurant. The hostess was a bit slow to seat us with a reservation, but the food was worth the small wait time. We started with the chips and salsa, which was simply fantastic. Definitely recommend. For entrees, I ordered the cauliflower tacos and my husband ordered the steak asada. We both loved our dishes. For dessert, we ordered the churros y ice cream. My, oh, my, the dessert was also delicious! Definitely a place to stop by if you can.

***4 1/2 stars*** This was SO close to perfect. SaltRock had been on our radar the whole time we were in Sedona, largely because of a very legit cocktail menu, specifically the margaritas (which my top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality is a noble connoisseur of). On our final night, we spent an insane amount of time pondering our options - we'd had some pretty meh meals up until then and wanted to go out with a bang and not mess it up. Ultimately, we settled on SaltRock, which was probably the right decision since it ended up being our best meal here. The biggest annoyance about SaltRock is its location. It's not on that main drag in Sedona so to actually get to it on foot, you have to awkwardly walk down a steep driveway past two or three levels of parking garages down to the Amara Resort & Spa, where it's located off their lobby. Honestly, if I hadn't done my research and really studied the maps, I don't think the signage for this place was good enough to find it, especially given that there isn't a sidewalk to access this from the road. And this is quite literally a two-way street, so once you'd had your fill of food and drink, guess what? You have to walk back up to the downtown area. Not the best, and I'd probably recommend driving at least partway down to negate some of that. The star of the show was unsurprisingly a cocktail. I was intrigued by the description of the Cactus Bird Clarified ($21), which referenced a milk punch. Figured it was worth gambling on, and I was right. This was an all-timer for me. The waitress mentioned that the clarification process was something that was utilized decades if not centuries earlier, where milk was basically poured through the cocktail to soften up some of the stronger tastes (hopefully that makes sense and is close to being correct with respect to mixology terminology), and the result was amazing. It makes the beverage smoother, so it's sort of like the Evian of cocktails. Just delicious, and despite a pretty obscene price tag, I ordered a second one. The food was great too. We split two apps - the ahi tuna tostadas and the guac. I was a little nervous about getting seafood in a landbound state, but the tuna was super fresh and tasty. The guac, as you can see in the accompanying picture, is an insanely large serving with three heaping scoops, and that was really good too. I don't like crunchy/chunky guac, and this was right on the line for me but didn't go over. For my entree, I opted for the Roasted Chicken, which hit the spot. The chicken was juicy, tender and flavorful, and the accompanying sides - for me, notably the chipotle sauce - were perfect complements. We had a fantastic waitress, honestly one of the best I've had in recent memory. She had a great personality, authentic opinions about the menu (I always give points when a waitress immediately admits that she hasn't tried a dish or doesn't care for it) and regularly visited. She was a huge reason this was a very positive experience. So why can't I go a full five stars here? Beyond the awkward location and atmosphere (and I'm not sure they can do a lot about that without removing themselves from the resort), we largely decided to come here ahead of a few other intriguing restaurants because the dessert menu looked really good. The online menu boasted (and still does) a red wine chocolate spice cake that sounded incredible. But when we got to the dessert portion of the meal? Our waitress admitted it wasn't on the menu anymore. In 2024 when a lot of potential customers are going to make a decision off of the online menu - keep in mind this again is not on the main road where you have the luxury of casually eyeing the menu on the sidewalk - there's just no excuse for not updating the website. Huge miss in my view. This is still a really good restaurant and IS worth the walk down (and up).

Good food. Good service. Great views. Quick access to the river and there is even a small chair swing right off the river. The river is surprisingly clear.

I recently dined at SaltRock Kitchen restaurant that offers a stunning view of the Red Rocks Mountains. We booked a table online through OpenTable and were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the outstanding service made us feel incredibly welcomed and valued. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure we had a perfect evening. The food was exquisite, with every dish crafted to perfection. Each bite was a delightful blend of flavors and textures, showcasing the chef's exceptional culinary skills. The menu offered a diverse range of options, ensuring that there was something to satisfy every palate. My favorite is tacos. 🌮 Adding to the already remarkable ambiance was a talented music group that performed throughout the evening. It was Friday night. Their amazing music enhanced the dining experience, creating a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious food, impeccable service, and breathtaking views.

Highlights include free valet parking. The views were amazing. The patio is in the shade near sunset time. the food while pricey was tasty. We got the lobster and short rib tacos. We also really enjoyed the cocktails. Mine had prickly pear! Recommend passing on the corn appetizer. It gets heavy very quickly.

Yelp
This was our first experience at Saltrock and we have already made reservations for next weekend - the restaurant is wonderful! Our waiter, Jacob, was great as was the food. The ambiance was lively, classy and delightful.

Yelp
Beautiful area surrounding the Resturant. It's connected inside of the hotel. Free valet as long as you're dine in. Reservations are recommended. I ordered the half smoked chicken and it was amazing. Great smoke flavor with a nice jalepeno margarita to pair with it. Service was very sweet and informative. Fast moving hostess as well. Great service through valet as well

Yelp
After a long day of touring Sedona we were happy to have reservations at SaltRock. Couple of us ordered signature cocktails, we all ordered street tacos - couple of us got Ribeye, a couple got Chicken, and one got the Black Cod. There was some swapping and the consensus amongst our merry band was that these were pretty good tacos. Glad we came by, loved the atmosphere and the tacos.

Not the best, and I'd probably recommend driving at least partway down to negate some of that. The vibe here was not what I expected. I honestly assumed this was going to be higher end than it was (no disrespect intended toward the resort), but this is a pretty mid-tier hotel, and because it's so far down in one of the canyons, the views aren't quite as good as you would get at a place like The Vault, which to me is the cream of the crop when it comes to the scenery as you sip your beverage. We were led outside to a table, which was sort of in a public patio area that allowed access to some of the young pup guests; not the greatest atmosphere in that regard either, but it wasn't terrible. The star of the show was unsurprisingly a cocktail. I was intrigued by the description of the Cactus Bird Clarified ($21), which referenced a milk punch. Yelp
Beautiful views with awesome service! We were offered blankets while we were seated outside for enjoying the dinner with stunning Mountain View's!

Yelp
Incredible scenery, drinks, and food!! I was impressed by the restaurant's level of customer service. I had outdoor seating on a chilly afternoon, so I was given a seat by the fire and offered a blanket to keep warm. The server was also very attentive and welcoming. My drink was perfectly tart and sweet. The tostada had fresh tuna and avocado. It was an overall amazing experience and I would love to come back when I'm in Sedona again.

Yelp
If found, please return me to Sedona, more specifically to SaltRock. Tucked within the Amara Resort which is a gorgeous spot, SaltRock is more than just the usual hotel restaurant. Beckoning you with gorgeous views for your IG worthy pictures, the menu will keep you seated for hours with no care in the world to move! Nothing but wonderful staff to service your needs. Attentive but not intrusive. Always ready to give you recommendations on cocktails or menu items to partake. I may have possibly dined for all three meal options: breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the side of happy hour. The street corn and truffle fries are great for nibbling and waiting on your main course. If you are doing breakfast, their berry coconut juice and green smoothi are a healthy way to start the day before a hike. I also love the salmon and capers bagel for that extra protein and carbs. Warning... I am super bias and partial to the lobster al pastor tacos and jackfruit tacos. I could eat these two nonstop 24/7... THAT GOOD!!!!!! I do believe they are seasonal so check the menu for current offerings. If you come for dinner, snag a spot by the firepits. So lovely to catch the sunsets and gaze at the stars. There's spots for cornbags and canoodling since they will have music until 10pm to be respective of guests overlooking the area. Being in the desert, feed that thirst so hydrate with either the Prickly Pear Margarita or the Sun Devil Margarita. Both pair well with the chili lime fries. I strongly believe you should take a vacation each day. And that means coming to SaltRock for a cocktail and carbs to remind you why unplugging from work is essential to your mental game.

Yelp
This experience was beyond what I expected, I wish I stayed in the hotel this place is gorgeous and the staff is amazing. We will definitely be back! Thanks for everything!

Michelle L.

Yelp
SaltRock originally caught my eye due to the beautiful, dog friendly patio. They also offer free valet parking for guests. Unfortunately the service was lackluster, and the food was nothing special. We ordered the Roasted Corn Soup, Skillet Street Corn, Seared Scallops, and Short Rib Tacos. The appetizers came out quickly, but the entrees took about 45 minutes to arrive which seemed like a long time to prepare 4 tacos and 4 scallops. The soup was actually delicious, and the corn and tacos were good. The scallops, however, were not evenly cooked - two of them (pictured) were severely overcooked to the point where the burnt flavor became overpowering. I let our server know and she did not seem apologetic or offer to comp anything, she just said she would let the chef know. Pretty disappointing considering the scallops were $40. I probably wouldn't come back here. The level of service and overall value was not worth the money.

Cindy R.

Yelp
The ambiance and service are amazing. Perfect backdrop with Snoopy Rock right in view. Play lawn games before dinner or sit by the firepit for a drink. The patio is a must and their heat lamps will keep you nice and toasty in October when we were there. All the food was good and feature the diverse flavors of the area!

Hannah V.

Yelp
The food and views were spectacular. The service was where this placed lacked. I sat outside in front of the water feature looking out at the rock formation (Snoopy & Lucy). It took awhile until my server came over and greeted me. I ordered an appetizer and drink and later on put in my entree. To decide, my order I asked what was a favorite and went along with those options. I ate the pork belly tostada and the tiger shrimp tamale which were both delicious. I noticed how enthusiastic the server in the area next to mine was. Really explaining each dish when a customer had a question and talked about the view/area they were in. My server was very quiet. What really hindered my experience was not even being halfway through the appetizer when my main entree came out. I wasn't sure if I should scarf down my appetizer so I can eat my entree hot or let the appetizer get cold so I can fully enjoy my entree. I felt like I was being rushed when the restaurant wasn't packed at all.

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
This place was beautiful with gorgeous views of the red rock! The desert oasis drink was delicious, I indulged & had two. But for me, the star of the show was the prickly pear flan! I know it sounds weird - well, if you're someone like me. I'm Hispanic and make flan myself, so at first it sounded intimidating/ like it would be horrible , but it is one of the best things I've ever tasted! My husband also is not a dessert person. He tasted it and went in for a 2nd & 3rd bite! Server Mikayla was friendly and attentive. Thank you for a great dinner!

Maleka H.

Yelp
Located at the Amara Hotel it's the perfect backdrop to the red rocks. Both inside outside seating, with fire pits and warmers at nights. It's beautiful yet very simple decor offers a unique space of delicious food and drinks. The Chicken Tacos were very delicious nicely season grill chicken with great veggie toppings. The Beria Tacos were so flavorful, nice crunchiness and great temperature. Chips and Guacamole were nice and delicious. I did not like the Pan Seared Scallops, they were overdone and had a pungent smell/ texture also that rice bed below it was horrible. The dessert flan was a bit different but also lovely. Nonetheless I had I great experience, the was friendly and the menu has a great selection so I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
We arrived around 8:30 PM when the sun had already set. The host was very kind and helped us find a table outside, allowing us to choose one at the very edge near the pond, right in front of the cornhole area, which was cute. Despite the sun having set, we still had a good view of the rock. The beautiful lights, water fountain, and pond created a very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, with hardly anyone nearby. We initially wanted to go during the day to see the rock, but we were glad it had cooled down so we could sit outside. The food arrived quickly. I ordered the roasted chicken, which was tasty but nothing extremely special. I did enjoy the polenta, which I initially thought was mashed potatoes because it was unusually creamy and delicious. I had the Veuve Du Vernay, Brut Rose, which was fine, and my boyfriend got the Lost Hiker, which was good but a bit sour. My boyfriend ordered the 8oz. prime skirt steak asada, which was good but came out kind of cold; he wished it had been warmer. We also tried the prickly pear flan. I didn't love it, and my boyfriend found the cookie crumble too sweet, but I enjoyed it. It was nice that they didn't charge him for the cup of decaf coffee. Overall, it was a nice experience but a bit expensive. There were also some flies in the water, but they ended up there after we had been sitting for a while, so it's not really the restaurant's fault.

Danielle G.

Yelp
First, signage, not great... at least at night. It was very difficult to find the restaurant. Maps told us to turn on Amara which is the resort the Saltrock restaurant is in, but at night it's dimly lit so we parked at the top of the driveway thinking it was located there. No. We had to walk down a steep, very dark driveway which isn't a big deal, but with someone with walking issues, it would have been difficult. So just know you continue down a long, steep drive to the restaurant. We entered the restaurant and were promptly seated outside overlooking a turf and seating area with lovely fire pits and a serene waterfall wall. Service was very slow, we sat unattended for a good ten minutes before a sever came over for water. We ordered cocktails and I put in an appetizer. Appetizer and cocktails arrived a few minutes later and before we could nosh on the appetizer for more than five minutes our food arrived. A delicious chicken and polenta dish full of flavor so that was nice. Then again, we just sat for a while unattended. It was fine as we had what we needed, but it felt like we were a tad forgotten. The server actually seemed a bit flustered. Perhaps they were understaffed.

Carly M.

Yelp
After dinner we decided to stop into get drinks at the bar. This restaurant is located in the Amara hotel which offers free valet which was great because there was limited parking! The bar is small but had two seats open so we took them! The restaurant was busy booked for the night which is why we opted to try it after our dinner at another place. The bar was stocked with top shelf liquor and fresh pre prepped ingredients. The bartenders have a bartender special of the day and were very knowledgeable about what they were making and serving. One of the bartenders even made his own clarified punch which was very flavorful and well executed. They were also very attentive and friendly to talk to. I asked the about the drinks and they steered me into the right direction with what I should order. I ordered a gin based drink and my husband had the prickly pear margarita which were both delicious and incorporated fresh fruit purées and not just store syrups. We had another round of drinks and tried different things and they were also delicious. Highly recommend this place to stop in and have an upscale cocktail. Drinks were pricy, but you got a quality drink for what you paid for.

Venezia M.

Yelp
The service was great shout out to Alejandro, but the food was just OK. Would not necessarily come back here.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
By far my favorite meal was had here during a trip to Sedona. Beautiful restaurant with picturesque outdoor dining area. Service and ambiance were both fantastic. Not one dish we tried was a miss.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Party of 5 for a quick bite. Establishment opened back up for lunch at 11:30 so we weee seated without a wait. Service was good. Restaurant is nice but is in a hotel so keep that in mind. Cocktails were great. Food is good.

Nicki S.

Yelp
Loved the bar staff and their creations. Tried the Top of the Mountain margarita. Was it a $100 margarita? In ingredients yes, but not unique enough to pay $100. Glad I tried it though. They did have a marshmallow infused vodka that they had made and it was really good. Our dinner waitress was very personable and attentive. I had the southwest Cobb with blackened shrimp. The shrimp were WAY over cooked but the flavors of everything else were excellent. Our side of broccolini came out cold but they remedied that quickly. Overall it was a solid 4 stars.

Annette A.

Yelp
The bad news: the salad was super bland - the added shrimp for $12 saved my salad from being the worst meal in Sedona. The empanadas were small, greasy and more like wontons with lacking filling. I would not get them again. The good news: The elote Mac was good - wish it had more corn. The rest of the entrees were good. The olive oil cake was good but very small.

John H.

Yelp
I tried this restaurant on New Year's Eve. They had a set menu for the holiday that let you choose one of two options for 4 courses. It started with oyster Rockefeller and bruschetta with an avocado, bean concoction. That was followed by lobster bisque and a citrus salad. Those were all phenomenal. There were three options for the main course. We tried all three. One was the venison, other was a pasta dish I believe (it may have come with shrimp , but I don't recall) and the third option we ordered as a side was scallops. The scallops were great as well as the pasta. We weren't happy with the venison. We ordered it medium well. Our server was great, but when I ordered it that way after she asked how I'd line it, she said that the chef doesn't recommend anything over medium, so reluctantly I ordered it per the chefs recommendation because I trusted my server by advocating for the chef; however, I was not happy with the venison. It looked completely rare to me. I tried a couple bites to see if it was so good, but I was not impressed. I felt a little adventurous ordering venison in such a woodsy area, but now i feel like i picked up a parasite or Lyme disease from the way it was prepared, but i haven't gotten too sick yet that i know of.... But it did get me worried. The dessert was great. There were two options, one was a little wafery cup with a pistachio filling and the other dessert was like a chocolate ganache with coconut bits. They were both great to top it all off with champagne after having tried a couple of their excellent margaritas! The ambiance was great too! We dined outdoors next to a lovely fire pit under the stars. The service was great and very attentive. The restrooms were also nice!

Lolly S.

Yelp
Tastes so nice we had it twice. No, not kidding. Best margs I've ever had and I am picky with my bevvies. Dietitian approved. Fresh ingredients and all are very well balanced.

Yelp
If you're debating between going to SaltRock or going to another restaurant, you should really choose SaltRock. The staff were really accommodating. For example, they helped us move to a patio table in better proximity to a heater. They got water and menus to our table quickly, and checked in at regular but unobtrusive intervals so that our needs were met before we even noticed. Our water glasses never went dry, and we spent the morning hiking; we were seriously going through water. Our water, Alejandro, was excellent. He was super knowledgeable about the menu. My boyfriend asked him for recommendations from within the seafood menu, and he gave a super concise yet comprehensive overview that added information that wasn't on the menu. He talked about the size of each cut of fish, the way each one was cooked, the sauce used, and all other pertinent information. My boyfriend used to work at restaurants and he is the most critical foodie I know, and he was really impressed by the overview because it gave him a good and exact understanding of each item, and with that understanding he knew exactly what he wanted to order. Also, Alejandro brought us blankets because we were sitting on the patio and it was cold. But with the blankets, we stayed comfortable for all 90 minutes of our outdoor meal. The dinner was that long only because we kept ordering more food. For appetizers, I ordered the stuffed yuca fritters and my bf ordered the shrimp ceviche. Both were excellent. The fritters were a bit small (only three quarter sized fritters) but perfectly crispy and full of warm, melty cheese. The shrimp ceviche was good too! I'm not a ceviche person, but I liked it despite myself. For main courses, I ordered the smoked chicken achiote. The chicken was succulent and Smokey, the sauce really pulled all the flavors together. The skin was crispy. I ate everything on my plate. My BF ordered the scallops and pork belly. He really liked them, and I tried a bite and liked them too! They were both really well cooked. The pork belly was juicy and the whole thing was on a nice bed of cooked greens. Then we got desert. We split the banana butter cake and the guyaba flan. I totally thought guyaba and guava were the same thing. They are not. Guyaba is soursop, and soursop is creamier and mellower than the more floral guava. When I say we split the deserts, I mean my bf was too full to go on and I ate the majority of the desert. I admittedly didn't try very hard to coax him to eat more desert. I was happy to finish it off myself. Last thing to note: their mocktails are really good! Neither bf nor I drink, so having excellent mocktails as a menu item made us happy. And the mocktails were really legit and tasted like cocktails.

Angelica H.

Yelp
The drinks were amazing!!! Kenny makes a delightful whiskey sour. The outdoor patio is lovely too.

Anissa A.

Yelp
I was blown away by the dish I ordered. The waitress and other support staff were incredibly kind. They even brought us blankets since we had an 8pm reservation. The only thing that was off was that they sat our table for 6 at a table for 12 but that didn't bother us.

Steven G.

Yelp
Hmm. This wasn't a horrible dining experience, it just stalled and could never take off. The views from the patio are nice. The staff all seemed rushed and even mentioned they were bombarded. The blue crab empanadas had an overly fishy taste (nice shell though). Chips and salsa were tasty. Pulled pork tacos were ok. Skillet Street corn was decent, good with the chips. West Fork margaritas packed a serious smoky punch. Unfortunately a skunk came up the stairs onto the patio towards the end of the meal. Staff said it happens regularly. Ugh.

Sandy H.

Yelp
Food was great! Drinks were amazing! Would definitely come back again! The skirt steak was my favorite! The margs were on point

Mark M.

Yelp
As the Yelp category says, it was just OK. Firstly, the place is hard to find if you are not staying at the Resort and the parking situation in the area almost makes you do the valet unless you want to walk a bit to the restaurant. The real reason to come here is if you want a meal with a view of the pretty Sedona scenery. The actual restaurant experience was pretty mid, and less so impressive when you factor in the price. We went during the Lunch menu after a hike and the food was pleasant but nothing to write home about and priced more than the value I felt I received. I got the regular margarita since craft drinks are supposed to be their calling and it was your average experience for your average cocktail size. I'm sure you will feel like you got a better deal at your local mexican spot with a jumbo marg. The quesabirria tacos were good but you're paying +$6 for your typical street taco without accompaniments. If you can find another place in Sedona with a view, I would check out there before coming to this place.

Yelp
My husband and I had gone a couple of times last time we were in Sedona and had good memories. We went this time, we got there around 5:30 there was not a sole but we thought that maybe is a bit early. We order filet, which you may think how can you go wrong. The waiter was friendly and although it took longer than we thought it mite and as soon as we saw our food we understood. The meat was charted to the point of looking burned. We both had asked for medium temp and to say that it was overcooked, it would be the understatement of the year. With it came a chimichurri sauce that didn't have any flavor at all. We did let the waiter know our disappointment, he and the manager offer a new one but we had waited so much that at that point I didn't want to eat anymore.

Yelp
A great experience for Christmas brunch. The food was exceptional and all the staff were very nice. Kalin was attentive, professional and took good care of us. This will be a must visit when in Sedona.

Yelp
Excellent! Excellent service. This gem is hidden away from the crowds. You wouldn't know you're in the touristy Sedona. Excellent food, prices and service. I had the Queso Birrara (sp?) loved it. Sammy our server was great. Perfect timing and respectful of our dinner pace. Ambience you can't beat looking out on the scenic red rock mountains of Sedona.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks and beautiful view of the red rocks. Highly recommend. Staff was friendly as well

Yelp
Was waiting a bit to see how management handled this businesses disappointing response in the middle of the issue and was truly hopeful they would have provided a remedy that genuinely made my group want to return as I am a firm believer in second chances but unfortunately this was not the case for SaltRock. If you go here, please don't expect anything more than a basic hotel lobby for the inside seating, don't expect acknowledgement of any celebration and definitely, don't use their valet. When we arrived to dinner we were very excited after looking at SO MANY restaurants for THE bachelorette to have a nice dinner out. Our group was a quiet one just looking for a relaxing weekend to spoil our amazing friend and if you are looking for a fine dining experience then SaltRock is not the place for you. We requested to sit outside on our reservation made weeks prior and when we were escorted to our indoor table, we asked if there was any way we could sit outside. Unfortunately the host replied quite rudely that we would have needed to request it beforehand which we did but that's ok. They then told us we would sit and wait for another table to leave but it was a busy Saturday night and we were happy to try the food so sat indoors. Our server checked on us a total of four times throughout the meal and the food was subpar at best. The best interaction we had was with the bussers who continued to fill our water glasses and even offered to take our photo and were the only ones who said anything to our bride-to-be. My tacos were burnt, everyone who had salad had horrible lettuce leafs and as soon as we finished eating, our plates disappeared before we even had our final bites. We weren't offered appetizers, a second round of drinks, dessert or anything. We would have been such an easy group to talk into dessert or anything! And I know it's silly but even a small congratulations verbally to our bride would have been sweet. We were not expecting anything free but an acknowledgment would have been kind. Then at the end of the meal we are informed that they hit the car while parking in valet at the BEGINNING of our meal. Ok. Accidents happen, no one was hurt. Generally speaking, yes, it was a minor accident that damaged mirror but did render the car un-drivable at night so it ended our night early. My issue comes with this companies handling on the issue. They refused to provide their insurance information and insisted on only taking ours which made us very uncomfortable. The manager stood behind the assistant manager and did not introduce herself or put time in to explain the situation and put her assistant manager in an uncomfortable situation and just glared at us. It was embarrassing for our group and made us feel as though we had done something wrong. We left feeling taken advantage of and as though they saw us as a group of young women who did not know any better. I wish they would have taken a step back the following day and tried to step up and make things right even if they felt like we were upset, I believe we had every right to be upset about how this was handled.

Yelp
Stayed at the Amara and wanted to dine here as well. Had heard great things. Food was incredible. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Such a great vibe. We tried just about all of the seafood dishes and they were all great! Scallops Salmon Elote Mac Lobster tacos Blue crab empanadas

Yelp
We stayed at Amara Resort for 4 nights and this was the only restaurant at the hotel so we ended up dining here quite a bit. We were annoyed that there weren't any other options for food but at least the food at Salt Creek ended up being really good. Our favorite dishes were the trout, stuff butternut squash and the breakfast burrito. The kids menu was also great, especially the kids breakfast plate. Views were incredible. Make sure to make reservations and request an outdoor table.

Yelp
Was not impressed with dinner here. Really unfortunate because we wanted to love it. Food was just ok, mediocre at best and then of course they were out of a couple things that we wanted. The service was ok. The best item we had at dinner was the margarita. Had the chips and salsa, way to expensive. Steak was really fatty. Lobster tacos, I found a lobster shell in my tacos. Really bummed about this experience

Yelp
Beautiful views. Staff is so nice. Wrapped my wife and 7 year old in blankets to keep them warm. Service was outstanding. Very friendly. Food was excellent. My filet was perfect. My wife loved her shrimp tamal. Will definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try so made reservations using the Open Table App the same day for dinner that evening. We arrived a little early but were seated right away and greeted by our server, Jacob, who was wonderful in giving us great food and drink recommendations! For drinks we got the Botanical Bee with Arizona Gin, Ginger-Thyme Infused Honey, and Lemon ($16) and the Bartender's Special but all I can remember is that this had Roasted Poblano Peppers in it which was different in a good way ($16). Appetizers were Roasted Corn Soup with avocado, fresh crema, and toasted pepitas ($12) - this was nice and creamy and the pepitas were an enjoyable addition. We also got the Skillet Street Corn with garlic aioli, cotija cheese, lime, and salt rock chili salt ($14) - this was a little sweet and wish the corn was charred more but it was still yummy. For our dinner entrees we chose the Tiger Shrimp Tamal ($36) which had 4 huge tiger prawns, garlic lime butter, charred corn polenta, crispy kale, and chimichurri oil. This dish was excellent as you could really taste the prawns and the polenta had a buttery flavor but was not overly rich. We also had the Prime Skirt Steak Asada 8z ($38) with roasted peppers, pickled onions, black beans, and corn tortillas. This was delicious on its own as they told us it marinates for 3 days in their secret recipe. The meat was tender and what you would expect from a well-made skirt steak. The sous chef also came out to chat with us about our meal which was very nice. We had a great experience here and would come back again! SIDE NOTE: The only negative comment would be to agree with other yelpers that the water served is a huge disappointment - it tasted like it came from a rusty sink - no bueno!

Yelp
Literally the best drinks in Sedona! Everything is fresh af in Sedona but these drinks hit all the buttons for me! You can't just get one and you can't just get the same of one! You have to at least get 3 different drinks to really taste their fresh ingredients that they put into their drinks!

Yelp
Gorgeous views with EXCELLENT service. I've traveled to Sedona many times and this is the best service I've had. They were so kind to sit a group of 10 where as most restaurants will not. Drinks are carefully curated and the food was fresh, large portions. Ty was our server and definitely improved our evening with his attention to detail. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. Thanks for the excellent night!

Yelp
Great food and ambience. Excellent views of the Red Rocks. The service was great - the staff is extremely friendly and the food is delicious!

Yelp
We booked online using Open Table. In our research, we learned that dress was casual and hikers were welcome from coming in off the trails. We found that to be not so true. We were welcomed in our hiking clothing, but most folks were dressed smart casual at minimum. It's important to know that the restaurant is valet only. That's actually a good thing because parking in Sedona is a nightmare. Upon arrival, we were seated outside, and we were just speechless about the amazing views. Our waiter Alejandro was personable and helpful. He pointed out each of the breathtaking rock formations and told us their names and a little about them. We enjoyed delicious craft cocktails. I had a Desert Oasis Margarita, and my wife had a Desert Jewel (sub vodka). Not cocktails were refreshing and different. I enjoyed the prickly pear in my Margarita. The Desert Jewel was a touch tart but equally delicious. We selected a light dinner and split the Blue Crab Empanadas and the Lobster Street Tacos. Every bite was better than the last. The pineapple and jalapeño crema on the tacos was delicious. The empanadas were also just divine. It was a little pricey but worth the ambiance and culinary delights. We would certainly book again but would probably dress a little less casually next time.

Yelp
We arrived at salt rock on time for our reservation at 8pm and were seated promptly. I forget our servers name now unfortunately. Our group started out with the fries appetizer. They were tasty. The aioli they came with tied it together well. That was probably the best part of our experience. Most of our group ordered the classic margarita with a Tajín rim. It was good but nothing special. I will say the tequila was smooth. GRAPHIC WARNING My friend left to go the bathroom and there was a young girl puking quite literally all over the restroom. It got on her shoes and it was all over the sinks so my friend asked a staff member to help her find another bathroom to wash her hands or get a towel to clean up her shoes. The staff member originally just handed her a small dry rag until my friend asked to please use a larger towel and possibly get access to another bathroom. She obliged and ended up taking her to another bathroom to clean up. When she got back the food still had not arrived. Our waiter stopped by to apologize about the wait and said something along the lines of he would make it up or do something to improve the experience. I cannot remember for the life of me what he said word for word. Our food arrived a bit later. For our entrees three of us got the Cobb salad and the other two (myself included) got the mushroom tacos. We were very underwhelmed with the food. The salads looked bland and lacked any pizazz. One of us stated they had better salads at Panera which is disappointing for the price point. All three people that got the salad said the same thing. Lacking flavor and for the price point they expected way more flavor. The tacos were interesting. They were very quinoa heavy which was odd considering they were mushroom tacos so I assumed their would be at least pieces of mushroom. I didn't taste or see any mushroom. I could've made better vegetarian tacos at home. We never received anything complimentary or discounts which is what we assumed our waiter was referring to. We honestly weren't that upset with that factor we kinda wanted to just go home at this point. The manager (I'm assuming) stopped by and we told her politely about the subpar experience she was quite apologetic but we had already paid and did not want to come back so I can understand there was not much she could do. It would've been nice if this conversation was had a bit earlier. Overall I probably wouldn't come back to this restaurant again after our experience we all came to the conclusion it would be a one time visit.

Yelp
I had a disappointing dinner at SaltRock. We arrived on time for our 7 reservation and were told there would be a wait and we could either hang in the hotel lobby or the bar and the hostess would get us once the table was ready. We ordered drinks at the bar and at 7:30 I went back to the hostess stand to ask how much longer the wait would be. She said she didn't know and would check with her manager. We were sat 10 minutes later. Once seated, it was 10 minutes before our server was able to come by and greet us. Some of the menus we were given were dirty and had food stains on them. We ordered soup and chips and guac to start. The soup was delicious, however the chips were mostly broken. Our mains had good flavor, but my tacos were under filled. While I enjoyed the flavors of the meal, I would not come back.

Yelp
We loved this place. When you make your reservation, make sure to request an outside table. You have a beautiful view of the red rocks and a nice fire pit. The service was amazing and the food was out of this world. We had seen a YouTube video that included this restaurant. We are so glad we decided to try it. I had the pork belly tacos appetizer for dinner and my husband had the shrimp.tamal. I could eat those tacos every day! We both loved our food. They also have free valet parking. If you come to Sedona, we have to eat at Salt Rock. Make sure you make a reservation!

Yelp
You can't beat the view from the patio. Beautiful place for a nice dinner in Sedona! The food was great. We tried the empanadas, salmon, steak, flan, red wine cake, and a couple different margaritas. Everything was really good! Tyler was an awesome server. Attentive but didn't bug us. He made great recommendations without making us feel pressured. Altogether an amazing experience!

Jesse K.

Yelp
The food was good, not great, but the ambiance and view were great. The service was average.

Yelp
Very pretty view from some of the seats on the patio, unfortunately, the way they lay out the tables, most have one side with their back to the mountains. Could be better set up, as could umbrellas for more shade. Food was quite good and flavorful. Service, at least for lunch, was only adequate and friendly, but not very attentive.
