Yelp
YUM! It really is that simple.
Friday Night Dinner just went up a notch thanks to Salty Mary's. We have seen the reviews and knew we had to get there before it became to hard to get a table. Party of 3, Friday night dinner and dessert, it was perfect.
The buildout at Salty Mary's is clean, modern and spacious, with a great long bar and open kitchen. The warmer weather lends to a side patio with plenty of room. The dining area is a mix of low tops and family tables, so being the party and order from the menu, it's so fresh.
We started out with quite a mix of appetizers and soup, with a few entrees ordered for sharing and well a little too much dessert, but we ate it all! The starter menu is hearty enough to order a mix for the table, especially when you get a mix of oysters. Everything was full of flavor and FRESH. I just wish I would have remembered to take a picture of everything along the way.
The clam chowder was hearty and full of flavor...so said my mother and husband...it was chocked full of bacon so I had to pass, that only meant my mother got a bowl to take home. The tuna was fresh dnd light, the guacamole was delicious. We ordered 3 sets of oysters and they were perfect...the brine s c hot sauce mix was truly fire. Next up, we had the clams and fish tacos, both full of fresh flavor, toasty bread and perfectly steamed. We were getting full but there was still plenty to eat, the oyster po boy had the perfect bun, spicy Mayo and not yo heavy a dredge, the oysters were huge...only thing kidding were pickles. Did I mention the fries, think cut steak fries, I could not stop eating them.
We managed to save room for dessert and we were not disappointed. The cinnamon Bundt cakes were moist and delicious, the cherry bourbon bread pudding was epic...so fresh and perfectly baked, last the seasonal berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream was hit, fresh, perfect crumble and well, I literally licked the dish.
The space is inviting, but a little loud if you are looking for more of a quiet space. The staff is full of knowledge and if you are feeling feisty you can order a round for the shucking staff...you know you want them to ring the bell. I look forward to them getting a Sunday liquor license, brunch is just what they need.
