Salty’s was pretty lively (and loud and busy) at 8pm on a Tuesday night. We came back for lunch the next day and it was more laid back and we were sat at a table on the patio with a beach view. Had a cup of the island chowder, it was sooo delicious I wish I’d ordered a bowl. I thought the portions were substantial enough as we shared the 2 pc fish and chips too. Drinks were a good size too. Service was excellent!

Google
We initially came in expecting standard bar food, but we were pleasantly surprised—the menu offered so much more. The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and far beyond what you'd typically expect from a bar. They also have an impressive drink selection. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit!

Not very impressed about the food, the quantity isn’t big for the price… It was a celebration for family gathering after several years not seeing each other, it’s kinda disappointing we couldn’t sit outside near the fire 🔥 which would’ve been a lot better experience! I ordered fishman’s pot, it was curry based with seafood inside, little bit spicy but it’s quite small for a person to get full, and also fish Taco 🌮 is more full of veggies rather than fish… The cocktail was quite yummy fortunately. Overall it’s a okay restaurant I would probably choose other ones if I got more time to do more homework!

Google
I thought I would give this place another go after a sub par experience quite a few years ago. Not much has changed. Service is ok. Slow. Drinks came after our food. The food is mediocre. Good location. And could have a nice view if you sit outside weather permitting. The happy hour has quite a few options. The place was not very busy but we were asked to move table just before 5 for reservations but nobody was in there. Many free tables. Felt very odd. Left a Salty taste. Maybe it’s the vibe they are going for.

I visited Salty’s Beach House in Penticton during a busy evening, and despite the wait to be seated, it was absolutely worth it! The restaurant’s prime location right across from Okanagan Beach offers a lively vibe and stunning lake views, which added to the overall experience. We ordered the fish and chips, seafood chowder, and the Wagyu burger. The fish and chips were a highlight—crispy, golden batter with perfectly cooked cod and a generous portion of fries that were crispy and well-seasoned. The seafood chowder was flavorful, though I wished for a bit more seafood to balance the veggies, as some reviews have noted. The Wagyu burger was a standout, juicy and packed with flavor, topped with manchego, pickled beets, and balsamic mayo, making every bite delicious. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the service was friendly and attentive, with our server hustling to keep up with the crowd. The pirate-themed decor and energetic vibe made it a fun spot, perfect for a casual meal by the lake. I’d definitely return for the food and view! 5 stars

Google
Mediocre experience at best… Butter chicken was wack, weird pizza that was sweeter than candy topped with what looked like milk - made the sogging process super easy. Besides the quality of food it’s pretty steep for what you get all in all. Mediocre staff, mediocre food, mediocre mood. Would maybe go back, am not planning on it.

Let’s start with the highlights—because there were many. The service at Salty’s Beach House was absolutely top-notch. I was seated right away, and my server was attentive, friendly, and checked in regularly without ever feeling intrusive. The ambiance was just as warm: cozy, welcoming, and full of that laid-back lakeside-town charm. Now, onto the food. I ordered the Fisherman’s Pot, and it was phenomenal. The seafood curry was rich and flavorful, perfectly complemented by soft, fluffy rice and warm, pillowy naan. Every bite was comfort in a bowl. I also tried the half dozen oysters. While they were clean and fresh, I found them to be very small, especially at that price point. Not bad, just not the standout I expected. The Pink Fritz was also a pleasant surprise—refreshing and perfectly balanced. Overall, I’d absolutely come back to Salty’s. Great service, great vibes, and mostly great food. Just might skip the oysters next time.

Google
Great experience all around! Came by for some snacks and their happy hour menu did not disappoint. We had the yam fries, Hawaiian musubi, and scallops remoulade which were absolutely delicious. Our server was amazing, kind and welcoming, her quality checks were perfectly timed. Located on the promenade, it overlooks the lake and has a fisherman’s cabin feel. Would definitely come back to try more bites and brews!

Yelp
Service was excellent.Meal was great and came in a timely manner. Not pressured to leave as we were able to visit .

Yelp
Good but not what it used to be. Service is still good but food quality seems to decrease every time I go. I had the fish tacos and salmon. The mashed potato with the salmon was cold so had to ask for fresh potatoes. After that, the meal was good. The tacos are good but greasy. The fries are my favorite part of the meal. We had a peanut butter cheesecake and key lime pie for dessert and they were pretty good. Extensive cocktail menu but the drinks are strong!! Ask for a table by the water to have the best view.

Yelp
Overall a great experience. Food was great, service was prompt and friendly. We sat on the patio which was lovely and quite comfortable. The fish and chips were delicious, which is how I judge the quality of a restaurant. Good job Salty's!

S L.

Yelp
Overpriced mediocre food, I'd choose another place to eat if I'm ever in the area. The view was the best part of the experience.

Yelp
AMAZING! my boyfriend and I visited over the summer! He is from Kelowna and grew up going to Salty's this was the only thing he talked about the 2 weeks leading up to our trip. We were in town for our anniversary and then my birthday 2 days later so a super important week. We went to saltys for our anniversary and we had the Rasta pasta and shared it! It was so filling and we both had a good portion of food! We also shared the honey Siracha chicken. We sat on the patio overlooking the beach and it was so beautiful and nice. We were overwhelmed by the drink menu as there are so many DELISH drinks on the menu and our server was amazing. We both got the boat drink and it was awesome. We were planning on heading home the day after our anniversary but we decided to stay for my birthday and we had to go back to saltys for some seafood. We shared the fisherman's pot and MAN was it amazing. I have so many good things to say about saltys. My boyfriend is not a seafood lover but he could not get enough of this! We also shared the prawn crunch roll! Amazing dinner and amazing place would recommend to anyone who is interested in going I am already planning my birthday next year and am so excited to go back

Yelp
Food was good and I like how vegan friendly the menu is! As someone who has an egg allergy it was so much easier to order without adding special requests or modifying my food. I got the impossible burger with yam fries and it tasted just like a standard burger. Food wasn't mind blowing but good enough that I would go back. Service was great too

Yelp
This is a neat place facing the beach. I tried their salmon which was slightly candied but a little dry with asparagus and mashed potatoe - 4 star. Their chicken enchillada was very nice witha decent kick. I really liked the seafood pot (like everyone said, it is laksa flavor) but it was the least favorite among our group. The ambience was really cool, simulating pirate ship and the service was good as well except quite slow (short staffed like everywhere else) It was bit overprice but expected due to its prime location.

Yelp
THIS PLACE USE TO VERY GOOD.Since they have sold their business, absolutely has gone downhill cold food, forgotten orders, really bad, etc. Will never go there ever again.

Yelp
Decent food. Decent drinks. Good staff. They have a good view. I would go back. Fish and chips are spot on.

Yelp
I've been here once but I keep thinking about this restaurant. I was in Kelowna for a business trip and my colleague and I were looking for a quick meal in Penticton. We came upon Salty's because it was the nearest restaurant suggested by my GPS and I was so happy they had a separate vegan menu. I can say without any exaggeration- I had the single most delicious thing I have ever had in my life at this restaurant. It was the "Vegan Tuna Nachos". My colleague (who is not vegan) and I were so shocked that we both ordered our own separate order of the Vegan Tuna Nachos. The waitress was amused that we ordered 3 servings of the same dish. If we weren't pressed for time, I think we would have ordered another one..or three. The vegan tuna was made from tomatoes prepared sous vide- so ingenious! I keep thinking about this restaurant and I am looking for any reason to come back so I can eat this amazing food again. Seriously, there are plenty of meat based dishes for the non-vegan but if you are there- try the vegan tuna nachos.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere, servers are nice and friendly, food good, nice location and you are right by the beach!

Yelp
Excellent food, recommend the honey Sriracha chicken appy! Credit for the fantastic experience goes to our outstanding evening host Lisa and all her on point recommendations throughout the evening. If you're looking for great service I recommend stopping by Salty's and asking for Chelsea Chanel's twin sister Lisa to serve you great food and even better beverages!

Yelp
Was really disappointed when one of our meals didn't arrive. (We used skip the dishes) so I called the restaurant and told them what happened..... the hostess who answered the phones response was " ok that's great! You're gonna have to call skip.....". She was really cheerful but I really didn't think it was great. And an apology or any acknowledgment of their mistake would have went along ways. mom another note, I guess the problem with using a third party delivery service is that even if the restaurant makes an error and you get the meal refunded you can't just re-order it without paying an extra delivery fee or tip for the driver. makes it important to order from restaurants that have attention to detail. the meal we had to share was good but not enough for two people.

Yelp
Too much rain while camping drove us to find a place with a fire place to sit by. This fit the bill and had a view of the lake. The drinks were good and they had some crayons to keep 3year old Brock occupied. And fries the ha dfor him hit the spot which was good as he was being picky eater. As for the adults, we agreed the best drink was the baileys banana thing. Creamy and sweet. They also had boat drinks on special on sunday. If there was no sun, at least the drinks brought the summer feeling

Yelp
Great location, service, and good food. We stopped in here for an early dinner and were happy there was no line. The place was a pleasant surprise from years ago. The restaurant was renovated from the last time we were there. Service was so friendly and attentive. The view is great (except for the smoke from the BC wildfires). We enjoyed the salmon very much. The fish and chips were ok. The chocolate mousse cake was very good too! I will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Penticton!

Heather H.

Yelp
Was here last month for lunch it was really good. Came back yesterday, we were seated w menus, the waiter asked if we wanted drinks I was still looked at wine list so he said he'd some back. By the time he returned we were ready to order drinks and dinner. After we ordered he told us they didn't have what we wanted so we had to look again. Most places we have eaten they tell you up front what they are out of. Having said that dinner was very and would recommended it.

Yelp
I don't remember what I got, but it was chicken on salad (take out). I will say that I did like the sauce they gave in a little plastic container that I poured on top of the chicken, but I guess I forgot to put the lid back on a shake it to evenly distribute it amongst the whole salad because some parts didn't have any of the dressing and most of it was on top. I will say that whatever it was I got, probably would have been better if we sat in the restaurant to eat. It also seemed like there would be a nice view if you sat on the upstairs patio during sunset, but we never got the chance to because there was a 2 hour wait, so be sure you go much earlier to put your name down or at least make a reservation.

Yelp
Visited this Penticton hot spot on our way back to Vancouver as we decided to take the scenic Crowsnest highway (BC 3). Though there was a line, we managed to get a table pretty quickly. Pretty cool vibes with a great view of the lake. We ordered the crab cakes (nice crispy breading and soft, delicate crab filling - maybe a tad soft for some palates - but flavourful), the fish & chips (crispy SEASONED batter and tender fish served piping hot. The chips were frites often served with steak, my personal preference would have been a thicker cut. House made tarter sauce and coleslaw rounded off the plate nicely) and the fisherman's pot (a nice fresh mix of seafood all nicely done in a coconut curried broth, served with coconut jasmine rice and naan bread - the flavour reminded of laksa, so a noodle option could be considered?) Service was acceptable for the current climate of Covid. Hand sanitizer at every table. Definitely worth the stop and wait to give Salty's a try the next time you're in Penticton

Yelp
I lied about my last review. Get the burger it is the best I swear. Still sort of pricey and long waits

Yelp
Eating the view of the beach and Okanagan Lake. Sally's Beach House not only serves good food but a great view. Dine in or take-out, this eatery offers an impressive menu.

Yelp
We were a company of 7 and we were seated right away ( we made a reservation). Our server Brooke was great! Very attentive and pleasant. The food was pretty good. I expected it to be more like pub food but there were actually lots of great fusion cuisine options with lots of seafood. I had Pistachio crusted mahi mahi with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was a very tasty light dinner. My husband had poke bowl and really enjoyed it The patio looked amazing.

Yelp
I had pad Thai here that nearly killed me! After a bit of rumbling and the food tasting off or soapy I began to explosive barf and diarrhea in a cold sweat! It continued where I was staying on top of a ski hill with full body sweats in the fetal position and exploding out of mouth and butt for another day! No skiing just me riding out what salty's did to me. I rode a toilet and trash can for a couple days instead of outside skiing thx to this place, I alerted them they poisoned me with no info back. Maybe this is normal operation here?! Wtf!?! Stay away unless you want food poisoning that will wreck you for 2-3 days? I did lose weight but my butt is destroyed! Again I told them about poison pad Thai and barely got a grunt. Never offered meal refunds or non pad Thai let's make this right? So locals know and tourists will know you are poisonings people.

Yelp
Fall from grace. Salty's was a staple and a go-to recommendation of mine for the okanagan valley. Sadly.. this long time title holder has let complacency get to itself. It no longer offer the once high level of quality and service that once was synonymous with the establishment (regardless the name). The fishermen's pot. (signature dish) is still passable but lacking a lot of flavor and and freshness it once had. I really hope Salty's stops and thinks of what made them a staple success and re-create that excitement they once possessed. Here's hoping they take reviews to heart.
google avatar

Peggy L.

Yelp
We ordered fisherman's pot, salty burger and chicken sandwiches. Fisherman's pot is good with Lots of seafood and their Thai style sauce was very tasty (red curry with lots of lemonglass). However, the spice mask the freshness of seafood. there are rice comes with pot however rice were undercooked (hard in the middle). Naan was very good, buttery and crunchy. Both burger and sandwiches are okay but nothing special. Service are slow and we have strong feeling of racism.

Yelp
Just in love with the fisherman pot at Saltys Penticton! One of the original dishes before owner of Earl's bought it . Incredible flavors and loaded with seafood. FISHERMAN'S POT : PEI mussels, clams, prawns, scallops and whitefish simmered in a red curry coconut cream with garden fresh vegetables, and topped with green onion and vine ripened tomato. Accompanied by coconut jasmine rice and fresh baked naan.

Cindy J.

Yelp
Hubby and I got the scallops rumeloude . Both of them were barely warm. Not a way to eat scallops. Service was good. We did not reorder the scallops. Left there feeling hungry and disappointed. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Amazing location by beachfront hence the name. Beautiful central location. Cool nautical ambiance and great selection of dishes especially for breakfast. Had an amazing and unique eggs benedict. Healthy alternative to having the regular English muffin. Definitely a great hang out if you like unique eggs bennies.

Yelp
Very disappointed today with our meals. I couldn't find the fish in my fish tacos......just lumps of overfried batter. I sent my meal back and the replacement was just as bad. The service was good and this was taken off of my bill. It will be some time before I visit this restaurant again.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for dinner on Saturday and was a bit disappointed. I've mostly heard good things about this place so I came to check it out but it was over priced pub food. Ambiance was okay and the drinks were fine. I had a rose pasta with prawns - it was okay and prawns were cooked very well. My friend ordered crab cakes for $18 I believe and got 2 very small pieces so that was a bit disappointing - tasted okay but wouldn't order again.

Sarah G.

Yelp
Horrible attitude... young people without proper hospitality training. Premium location ! What a shame

Yelp
The view from this restaurant from the second floor is spectacular! We sat closest to the beach view and it was beautiful. The drinks were good, we got caesars but the food was not the best. We got the chicken tacos and didn't quite enjoy the flavour. My fiancé ate 1/3 barely. I got the Cajun chicken sandwich. The chicken was grilled perfectly, but the bun ruined it for me. It tasted a bit stale and there was just way too much of it for the size of the sandwich 60% bun. If the cheat meal has bread, I would hope the bun would be worth the calories. Would definitely come back but order different items. The service was good as well.

Mark C.

Yelp
Great place for family dinner while visiting Penticton. For appetizer we had Calamari and it delicious, all our meals were awesome. Only complaint we had was the way over priced drinks. Pop was 3.95 each and loaded with ice and my wife's margarita was over $10 and just ok. We felt the meals were well priced. We will come again but just have water, save the money and have ice cream next door.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Started with sharing kale sea-zer, substitute romaine for kale lol dressing tangy and great! GF had the 6 oz black angus steak, seasoned perfectly and I had the Rasta pasta with blackened chicken. Rose sauce was perfect and chicken seasoned and cooked to perfection. Could have used a hunk of garlic toast. Staff friendly and fun. Margaritas lime on the rocks an absolute must, on patio, watching beach life stroll by. Salty's is a must stop when in Penticton, BC.
google avatar

Kathy R.

Yelp
I have been coming here over the years for seafood. Tonight was an eye opener as they have done Reno's and it is super busy. This place used to be a bit quieter and more family, but now it's trendy and busy. I do like it still and when there is time for sure I will make a reservation. Still great food and service.
google avatar

Troy M.

Yelp
Great eats and super quick. We wanted to eat outside and the hostess told us to seat ourselves and she'd bring us menus. We both hit the washroom before sitting and then then service fell through the cracks. No ones fault (well maybe ours, darn small bladders). Once it was all resolved the service was super fast and food was very tasty. My wife and I split two entrees: the fish tacos and the po boy. Both were very good and we were split on our favourites. Very excited to eat here being along the Okanagan beach line in my hometown.

Yelp
We took my brother for his birthday lunch to Salty's on Boxing day, as the restaurant is very nice and has friendly staff. However, it was a very disappointing and embarrassing experience. I didn't want to say anything in front of our company but my Thai salad was brown, the chicken was too dry and didn 't taste fresh. My husband had a burger which was over salted and the Caesar salad was not fresh (brown like mine). I would like to point out that I would expect much more from this kind of restaurant and will not go there again for a long time. Eliska H

Yelp
Do you want a view of the lake while you eat/drink? Well we did and Salty's delivered that and more. Our server was friendly and attentive. Slightly higher price point but worth it. My friend and I shared oysters, an appetizer, a steak, and a bottle of wine. They split the steak and sides for us which was a very nice touch and we didn't have to request it! Was plenty for both of us considering since it was a bit of a later dinner as well. Will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

Yelp
Local been coming here for ever. Tonight was the worst service I have experienced here. Put our drink and food order in and received 2 out of the three food items ordered. Half way through my meal I asked for another drink. Finished my meal still with no sign of the rest of our food or our waitress. She arrived and gave excuses for the lack of both food and drink. We cut our night short and got the bill. On our way out the gaggle of servers crowding the the entrance gossiping was a great end to the evening. Kitchen amazing as always.
google avatar

Brent L.

Yelp
I have stopped here several times over the years and at times the service had slightly varied but the food is always to notch! A fun, and more family themed restaurant in recent years, Salty's always delivers great food in a 2 level "beach house" with great patio views. I recently went with a family member who had an extreme alergy to any hot spice. I wound up asking several different staff from hostesses to servers questions concerning the ingredients and ALL of them knew exactly what was in the foods. Now that is good training! Make a stop here if you can!
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Fish tacos were spectacular and half priced bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Dined at Salty's 4 times in 3 days...some would say the food brings you back.
google avatar

Josh K.

Yelp
We stopped in here while we were out and about for a quick lunch. The menu looked good with decent prices. Our wives got the fish and chips and the boys got the burger and the curizo burger. The main parts of our food was pretty good (I'd give it a 4 star) but the frys were cold. But they lost a star bc all of our cups and dishes were dirty. Mine had food particles stuck to it, my buddies was greasy and my wife's had dried on food on the inside. That was unfortunately to much of a turn off, so we probably won't go back. But, if your plates and cups are clean, you'll enjoy it. Plus it's in a great spot on the beach.
google avatar

Lisa D.

Yelp
I love the theme of this restaurant. Gorgeous place to have a drink on the patio or catching with friends. Ahi tuna - avocado salad flavours were mild. I wish there was more ginger and wasbi flavour in the dish. Tuna and and avocado were thinly sliced. Korean short rib sandwich - sour dough bread. Excellent sandwich with strong flavours albeit messy. Juice was dripping out of the buns. The buns held everything together.
google avatar

Terry S.

Yelp
I was in town on business looking for something homemade and different. I was walking along the lane and saw the sign for Salty's... Later once I was in my hotel and my tummy started to grumble I placed a order. The chorizo soup was amazing, the garlic loaf beautifully done and the spring salad was worth every penny... You have to try this place... YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED...

Naomi D.

Yelp
The service was fantastic, but the food was just okay. My husband had the salmon, and it was the best of all our dishes. You rarely find perfectly cooked salmon at a restaurant, but this place did it well.
google avatar

Gus B.

Yelp
The food and the service were phenomenal. We had oysters, chicken wings and calamari. $5.00 Caesar's were great. They also supplied us with blankets as it was cool out. I would definitely recommend them.
google avatar

Yelp
View is nice from rooftop. Food was really good. Get the scallop dip and bread to start you will not be disappointed. Fish tacos were very good too. And the highlight was the Baileys Banana cocktail. So good. Nice staff too.

Yelp
Awesome friendly service. Really good food, easy for kids and great location. I really liked the Tuna Poke bowl, really fresh and tasty.
google avatar

Jermaine M.

Yelp
I enjoy saltys. Great location. Little pricey and like the other reviewer said, the front staff crowding the entrance gossiping

Emily C.

Yelp
Happy hour is only honoured inside the restaurant my husband and I found it super weird and never heard of that in our life! He liked his tacos and my pasta was tasty however the portion was really small. It was an ok experience just not amazing definitely not a good value either. If we did go back we would reserve for inside for the happy hour lesson learnt.
