I visited this place by ChatGPT’s recommendation during my 40-minute stop in Parma. The place has amazing atmosphere, looks very authentic 🤩✨
But I got into a trap being short on time. Having been asked to wait for a minute, 10 minutes later I was still waiting no longer having time to think, so quickly ordered Mortadella and Torta fritta I saw on one of the tables that looked really delicious to me. I ate about a half and eventually took away the other half because I had to run to catch my train. I was really surprised for it to cost me 15 €. ChatGPT later explained me it could be caused by fact that I occupied the table for ~5 minutes, so the price was not for products, but for service, and asked if I’d like to get a short anti-rip-off list for Italy 🤣
Re: I checked on your website, mortadella costs 2.5€ per 150 g; Lambrusco I was told to cost 3.5€ (it was about 150 ml) and I don’t know the price for Torta fritta. Yes, it’s not a scam, it’s called „scaffalatura” (does it translate to shelving?) in the check instead of items I ordered with prices.
I don’t know if it’s OK in Italy, I’m just warning tourists who do not want to fall into this trap.
