A shrine to prosciutto, Stanley visits this salumeria to get a taste of the real Prosciutto di Parma - of which there are many fake copycats.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Absolute Hidden Gem in Parma! My husband and I stopped by Salumeria Garibaldi by chance. We initially went in for the Parmasean cheese and some wine. The customer service was top-notch. My husband also grabbed a dish “just to try” as a snack, and it was so delicious that we literally ran back before closing to buy more food! The staff went above and beyond. They made sure we had enough plates and prepared our food so it was ready to enjoy back at our hotel. Every single dish was incredible, from the fresh pasta to the desserts. Truly the best food we’ve had in Italy so far. We’ll be recommending this place to everyone. A true hidden gem in Parma!

If you find yourself in Parma, Salumeria Garibaldi is an absolute must. My wife and I stayed in Parma for a month, and I can honestly say there is nothing quite like this place back home in the United States. Walking inside feels like stepping straight into the heart of Italy’s food culture. The walls are lined with bottles of wine, shelves filled with pastas and preserves, and above you hang rows of prosciutto that fill the air with the most incredible aroma. Salumeria Garibaldi has been part of Parma’s story since 1829, and you can feel that history the moment you enter. Every corner reflects tradition, pride, and passion. The meats and cheeses are beyond words. The Parmigiano Reggiano is perfection, the culatello melts in your mouth, and the Prosciutto di Parma truly defines the city. The staff treat their craft like an art form, offering samples, explaining the origins, and helping you choose the perfect pairing to enjoy right there or to take home. It is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with food all over again. If you appreciate authenticity and flavor that speaks for itself, this shop will capture your heart. Whether you are in Parma for a day or a month, do not miss Salumeria Garibaldi. It is more than a shop, it is an unforgettable experience.

A Proverbial Parmesan Palace of Porcine Provender for Procuring Plenty of Pleasure This place is a treasure trove of Parmesan goodness. Staff prepared an overloaded platter of salumi with wonderfully fluffy fry bread. We also sampled fagioli, lasagna, peppers, giardiniera, et c, et c, and so forth. This year's fresh and slightly sparkling Lambrusco was perfect accompaniment. ( BTW, we requested a salumi board for 4, and we snacked on the leftovers for the nest THREE days! Just sayin.....) Photos show we were there pretty much right at noon. by the time we left if was filled to overflowing. (Even with a crowd, it's well worth the wait.)

We visited this shop during morning but we couldn’t resist to dine in and tried their main dish as well as the dessert. If you want to dine in, there are limited seat of around 12 seats. Food is delicious. We also bought ham and cheese which are in very good quality. The staff were extremely nice and attractive setting.

While the meals displayed are pricey; keep in mind that you would pay 50-100% more for the same quality of produce and preparation at an a la carte restaurant. We came two nights in a row; the staff were helpful and cheery. Always a stream of locals and visitors. You get an itemised receipt with your purchases and heated on request. Delicious visual feast. Wish we were in Parma longer.

This was the first place my wife and I ate at in Parma during our honeymoon, and it left such a lasting impression that we returned before leaving the city just to take some prosciutto and culatello for the road. The staff were incredibly kind and generous, patiently explaining each dish and sharing their love for the food. Everything we tried was exceptional - a true taste of Parma. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and for being part of such a special memory!

I visited this place by ChatGPT’s recommendation during my 40-minute stop in Parma. The place has amazing atmosphere, looks very authentic 🤩✨ But I got into a trap being short on time. Having been asked to wait for a minute, 10 minutes later I was still waiting no longer having time to think, so quickly ordered Mortadella and Torta fritta I saw on one of the tables that looked really delicious to me. I ate about a half and eventually took away the other half because I had to run to catch my train. I was really surprised for it to cost me 15 €. ChatGPT later explained me it could be caused by fact that I occupied the table for ~5 minutes, so the price was not for products, but for service, and asked if I’d like to get a short anti-rip-off list for Italy 🤣 Re: I checked on your website, mortadella costs 2.5€ per 150 g; Lambrusco I was told to cost 3.5€ (it was about 150 ml) and I don’t know the price for Torta fritta. Yes, it’s not a scam, it’s called „scaffalatura” (does it translate to shelving?) in the check instead of items I ordered with prices. I don’t know if it’s OK in Italy, I’m just warning tourists who do not want to fall into this trap.
