I was reserving 5 stars for the best pies I could find as I travelled around New Zealand tasting pies at highly recommended pie places.
These pies are absolutely outstanding, and hands down the best pies I have found.
I love the size and shape of the pies, which look both gourmet, but also lovingly homemade. The pastry is cooked to perfection, and there is an amazing range of original flavours.
I tried the teriyaki pork belly, the meat was cooked perfect, the gravy/sauce was flavourful and not too salty.
My son had a classic mince and cheese pie and it also looked amazing and he said it was “loaded” and the best mince and cheese pie he’s ever had.
The cafe itself is lovely and open where you can eat in if you want. What I love about this place is that they’ve kept it simple. They do pies, and they do pies extremely well. It is a true pie shop through and through. I would love to see a place like this become a franchise so long as it stayed true to the amazingly well done pies.
We’ll definitely be back.
