Salvadonica (San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Tuscany) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Salvadonica is no mere castle hotel, but what in Tuscany they call a borgo — an entire village restored and rededicated to agritourism. Set in the Chianti countryside, outside of San Casciano, this 14th-century village now houses 30 rooms furnished in a contemporary style that’s a lively contrast with the well-preserved antique architecture. They range widely from the Economy room to some fairly lavish suites; all partake of the same luxe agriturismo experience; the hotel offers cooking classes, tours, tastings, and other leisure activities in addition to the main event: La Volpenera, a classic Tuscan restaurant serving, among other things, wine and olive oil from the borgo’s own vineyards and groves." - Tablet Hotels

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Salvadonica! We rented a car in Florence and it was a quick 20 minute drive from the airport. Breathtaking views and such a beautiful property. The service on property is wonderful, too. We booked the picnic, wine tasting and cooking class as part of our stay and all were well worth the price. The picnic was a filling, three course meal with a bottle of wine. The sommelier who hosted our wine tasting was incredibly knowledgable and engaging. Chef Alessia and our cooking class was definitely a highlight of our whole time in Italy. She was fun, a great teacher and we made an incredible meal! If you are going to book any experience at Salvadonia - book that one. Rooms were spacious and the restaurant on property was delicious. We're already dreaming of a day when we can come back!

A lovely spot on top of a Tuscan hill with great views. The restaurant was very good, excellent breakfast with dinner a little less successful. The pool and pool area is fab with peaceful, amazing views. Overall a very well kept, tranquil place to spend a few days. Only disappointment was our room which despite being a deluxe room had no outside window and was very dark.

Among all our travels across Europe, my fiancé Jackson and I’s time at Salvadonica is by far our favorite. We visited the hotel 3 years ago and returned again this week, and will be back many more times. To start, the property is a mere 30 minutes from Florence, but transports you to the most serene and beautiful wine country landscape you’ve ever seen. This is an exceptionally well maintained medieval village; despite its history, the rooms are modern and clean with new furnishings and appliances. The views of the Tuscan hills and countryside are the best of any hotel we visited in the area. The food and drinks have never failed to impress us. On our first visit, we did the wine and olive oil tasting, trying a variety of red wines they produce at the vineyard and their own olive oil. We were blown away by the quality of the products they create. The restaurant serves some of the best food we’ve ever tasted, our favorites include the truffle pasta, prawn crudo fusilli, octopus, and tiramisu, but you really can’t go wrong with anything they offer. The breakfasts are abundant with sweet and savory options. Last but certainly not least, the staff has always been warm and kind while offering the highest level of service. Vincenzo served us 3 years ago and again this week at the restaurant and has gone above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of at dinner. Everyone from the reception staff to breakfast attendants are so personable and want to make your visit the best it can be. There’s so much more we can mention, the pool with stunning views of the hills, plentiful activities for everyone like bocce ball, yoga, movies, and more, but just know that this is a must visit destination for anyone in Italy. We’ve recommended this to countless friends who have all loved their experience.

What a beautiful and intimate Tuscany treat! I’m thrilled that we chose Salvadonica. All the rooms offer a great deal of privacy with outdoor seating areas. We unwound and relaxed daily at the beautiful pool after touring Tuscany and Florence. The pool overlooks the Tuscan vineyards. We were torn as to whether to stay in Tuscany or Florence. Hands down, we made the right choice by staying here!

Excellent service. We had issues getting a rental car in Firenze so had to take a cab, but I let the front desk know when we got to Salvadonica and they called someone to deliver a rental car to the hotel. Honestly saved our tuscany plans. Lots to do on site as well with cooking class with Chef Alessia (highly recommend! learned a lot and she was great!), massages, tennis court, pool, and wine tasting. Breakfast was exceptional with tons of authentic options. Chef at the restaurant on site for dinner is also excellent. Clean rooms that appear recently updated. And the views are stellar!

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. We rented a car from Florence and used this stay as a base to explore the surrounding wineries. It was a perfect place to get a taste of Tuscany. The views were amazing. The staff were so kind and the rooms were so clean and quiet. The grounds were beautiful. We didn’t get to swim or use the outdoor theater but they both looked amazing!

We were here for 4 nights and just had a fabulous time. The room was fantastic, the restaurant amazing. Most of the staff in all areas of this resort was simply magnificent. Outstanding front desk service, complimentary breakfast was wonderful. We had both lunch and two dinners at their restaurant and it was so very good. We definitely will return!
