This is a lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Soller town. a quiet, safe sanctuary perfect for an escape from the crowds. It only has seven rooms, so is quite intimate. ||There is no restaurant or bar, just an honesty bar, which you can use during the day for cold drinks and crisps. ||The breakfast is buffet style, but you can also ask for eggs and bacon etc and the staff will cook and deliver these along with tea and coffee to your table. ||The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful especially Sandra and her husband who manage the hotel. ||Along with your room key, you also get a key to the front entrance door. You need this as there are no staff present after 9pm. It works and was never a problem. There are emergency numbers available should you need any assistance. ||The hotel is an old Manor House just off the main square, of bars and shops and access to the tram (to the port) and the train station to Palma. It’s a 5 imite walk up narrow, marbled streets. I wouldn’t say it was wheel chair friendly or suitable for someone who has difficulty with steps. ||The interior is very grand, very nicely furnished with lots of quaint rooms and beautifully decorated. ||Our room was lovely with a view of the spectacular mountains and the pool and gardens. It had a safe, tea and coffee making and a large baths with shower over the bath. ||There are lots of steps to the various levels and access to the pool. The swimming pool itself is lovely, with a gradual slop to 2 metres. Surrounded by large comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas, with lovely gardens and the mountains towering up behind. ||We had a great stay, very relaxing and very convenient. We only stopped 2 nights, but others there were returning clients (several years, one couple mentioned), with people staying a week or more. It’s got a very chilled, relaxed, homely feel and I can understand why people love it and return to it. ||It’s boutique, so you have to accept you don’t get everything you would in a large 5 star. Ideally don’t drive in Soller or to the hotel. You can’t park near the hotel and it’s a challenge to get a vehicle to it. ||I would recommend it. it’s lovely. ||Catching a Tram to Soller beach is a must. You don’t need to book just get in and pay onboard. 10 euros each way. But a lovely trip. ||We also took the old train from Soller to Palma. An interesting journey. It was lovely and enjoyable until you get to the main tunnel out of the mountains. This is a long and very noisy tunnel, then you exit onto the flatter lands down to Palma, not quite so scenic. A large solar panel farm, gypsy encampments and not the best or prettiest route into Palma itself. But worth a try, once only I would think. In fact ideally I would get it going the other way from Palma to Soller that would make the journey much more appealing. Again the train station is just a 5 minute walk.
