The best Schnitzel I had in Germany! Austrian schnitzel is a different style but I prefer it so much more. Food is great and it is served pretty quickly. Recommend you book a table if you can though the reservation website doesn’t seem to work! The place is always filled with people. Went there twice during my Germany trip and I have no regrets. Highly recommend Schnitzel, cheese sausage and the cucumber salad!

Nice outdoor seating. I don’t know how it compares to here, but comparing it to home (US) it was amazing. Nice snap in the sausage casing and full of flavor and perfect smoky chunks of bacon in the sauerkraut. Tasty brown bread on the side and a truly yummy Weissbier. Perfect first meal in Germany.

The schnitzel tasted very good. But a simple dish like this, isn't supposed to be expensive like this. The medium, which for context was a schnitzel of 2mm thick, looks massive but doesn't fill you up like you expect and was (i think) €26,50.

This place is a must to visit while you’re in Frankfort. An excellent food, staff and service! The atmosphere was great and Yannick (our waiter) went an extra mile to ensure we have what we need. Sorry for not including pictures of our delicious dinner but it was so good that we dove in right away and kept going until the plates were clean:-)

Google
The food was delicious! I can recommend Käsekrainer-cheese sausage with sauerkraut and potatoes. And don't forget about the dessert-their Apple pie with ice cream is soo good!

Amazing Schnitzel, and amazing Kaiserschmarren - best I’ve had in Frankfurt. Really high quality, quick service and tasty food.

Great restaurant! Busy place for dinner on Friday night. We didnt have a reservation but they still accommodated us with time limit of 1 hour which is fine as we only wanted to dine. Servers were all super nice and friendly. Menu posted here from 5 years ago was not accurate as menu has change a lot. They only have 2 -3 schnitzel option on the menu but theyre made from Veal which is a lot better than pork. Had option of 1-3 portion. Ordered 2 portion as it seems like the portion would not be big but we were wrong. Had 2 portions enough for 2 people to finish. Definitely made well and glad we ordered it.

We ordered the schnitzel. The meat was so thin. The green sauce was not bad. The taste was average.

Yelp
An earlier decision to try another nearby fell threw when we discovered it was closed. Chose this place for authentic German food even though it's Austrian style. Didn't have a reservation for a busy Tuesday night but the host sat us anyways with the condition we wouldn't eat and linger more than an hour. Game on! Happy to not have to walk again to another place. Very authentic Autrian hunting lodge decor. Good selection of beer and wine. Food was served hot and fresh. The schnitzel was excellent and comes in three sizes. This was a medium. Cordon bleau was good but the ham was a bit too overwhelming, but good none the less. Potato salad was spot on and the cucumber salad was so good. Just the creamy way I like it. Spaetzle was just ok. Would eat here again if looking for ambiance and authentic Bavarian/Austrian food.

Yelp
When visiting Germany on business I make sure I get one night in Frankfurt just to get my Salzkammer fix. Awesome Wiener schnitzel and kraut. Great beer. Then again I've never had a bad beer in Germany

Yelp
Loved this place! Arrived without a reservation (go online!) and only options were the bar or the outdoor gondola - um, ya bitte! The gondola was so cute and fun to have our little space. We turned on some music and had simply a wonderful time with our son, on our last night in Germany after two weeks of driving around the country (highly recommend touring Germany by the incredible car museums). They say they put them away for summer since it gets too hot. There were many things on the menu we wanted to try, and on the specials list, but didn't want leftovers so we split three dishes and shared them all. Medium schnitzel (two pieces) served with fried/roasted potatoes, a veal in paprika sauce with spätzle, and the käse spätzle with onions. All delicious! Had the caramelized pancakes for dessert. Delicious comfort food.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and enjoyed that a great deal. Very helpful bartender assisted with beer choice, entree selection (schnitzel was amazing) and dessert. This place is wonderful. I have forgotten his name but if a bartender comes over wearing interesting glasses....you're in for a treat.

Yelp
Food was amazing , I need to know what type of dressing was on salad :) what was in it ? I know pumpkin oil was but what else ???

Yelp
Fun restaurant in Frankfurt. Typical Austrian food. Good service and friendly servers.

Yelp
We arrived without a reservation at a busy time but we were able to get squeezed in at the bar. It wasn't offered. I had to ask for it. We enjoyed our schnitzel. The waiter had suggested the potato salad with the schnitzel but I personally preferred my companion's fingerling potatoes. Glad we got to experience it on our visit.

Yelp
Well first I have to say this restaurant was amazing! I was walking around Frankfurt and I walked into a local store. I was chatting with the employee and I asked where a good authentic German restaurant was nearby. He immediately mentioned Salzkammer, which he said is Austrian, but is great and similar to German authentic cuisine. I walked over to Salzkammer and walked in. Immediately I was greeted and the place was clean and looked very welcoming, kind of like a tavern but family style with a full bar as well. I was sat down at a window seat looking out to the outdoor patio. This is winter and was about 30°F so the outdoor patio was closed. It looks onto a cute shopping area and quaint pedestrian streets. I looked at the menu, which was in German and saw the classic weiner schnitzel plate. I ordered it and I noticed there were three options for ordering small, normal or large. I opted for normal. My plate came out and looked amazing! I accompanied my plate with a nice local red wine. The plate came with potatoes that were oven baked or sautéed with olive oil. The meat tasted very fresh and potatoes crispy, yet seasoned perfect. The "normal" plate came with two huge pieces of meat and I could barely finish it. Mind you this was pretty much my only meal of the day so I was hungry. The cuisine was fresh and plentiful, staff was amazing and place was very clean and cozy. This is definitely a place I'd go back and would recommend it to anyone visiting Frankfurt! Thanks to that employee at the store I was at before for recommending it!

Yelp
Sadly, I arrived without a reservation on a very (very ) busy evening (ongoing strike) and I was not able to be seated. Even so, the host was extremely kind, realizing I was, like Many others, in Frankfurt for an unexpected day. He made several suggestions for great German food in a traditional setting. This included him stepping with me outside to point out the direction and street I needed to turn on. It I appreciated the Gemütlichkeit!!!!! And will be back for an awesome meal in March! Until then! Prosit!

Yelp
Tremendous staff. Very welcoming. Pleasant, comfortable, energetic dining room. Excellent location. Good beers. And a reminder of a good Austrian kitchen. Enjoyed our experience very much.

Yelp
The reviews were right - excellent WienerSchnitzel! We thoroughly enjoyed the asparagus soup, the warm goat cheese salad, and I had the cordon bleu schnitzel with potato salad and cucumber salad - very pleased with the service and the food!

Yelp
Good variety of Austrian food to select from. Staff is polite and quick with service. Ample seating available

Yelp
This place offers the best Kaiserschmarrn ever. Search through yelp for a good place to have classic the Austrian pancake and came across this place. Surprisingly what this restaurant made beats the famous Cafe Central in Vienna! Crusty layer with soft, tender fillings along with the perfect homemade zwetschkenröster (plum sauce) which puts the perfect note to our trip. Two thumbs up and a must try in Frankfurt!

Yelp
The quick and the good: the food came out super fast and the service was friendly. Although SK is an Austrian reso, they do feature some Frankfurter standards: Handkäse mit Musik and Grüne Sosse mit halbierten Eiern u. Erdäpfeln The apple wine is fine and will make you a wee bit tipsy. Th interior of the resto is warm and woody. There are two-tops, bar seats, and long, communal tables for the group night out. The joint is located in a 'touristy' part of town just down from the Zeil (pedestrian zone), so it's quite centrally located and easy to get to. Visitors to Frankfurt keen on food from German-speaking regions would do well to check this place out.

Yelp
Fortunately: I found a place that serves Austrian food, open on Christmas. Unfortunately: I had already eaten dinner prior this discovery. Fortunately: I was still hungry for dessert and ordered an Austrian Apfelstrudel. And it was beautifully delicious. Unfortunately: Even with an apple wine, the total bill didn't make the cut for a CC payment. Fortunately: I had enough cash and walked out satiated. Salzkammer is a lovely, welcoming restaurant. I hope to return and try out the rest of the menu during a future visit!

Yelp
The MOST unfriendly staff we have ever encountered. We arrived at 9 and the obnoxious "host" refused us entry to the restaurant - barricading the door, saying they cut off service at o:15 and close punctually at 10. I hope none of you waste your time here.

Yelp
They offer an indoor seating area as well as an outdoor. The staff is super friendly and they all can speak good English. Menus are available in English as well. We tried the week's special soup (potato & pumpkin) and the pumpkin risotto with goat cheese and they were great. Also, we ordered the restaurant's specialty dish. Veal escalope (fried veal) with potatoes and raspberry. All and all, it is a recommended plac

Yelp
Location: Central in Frankfurt. Place looks nice, but I can only comment on the outside. Nice tables in the backyard, which are away from the traffic. Somehow the benches have been very comfy. Service: Friendly and helpful. Took every request of ours and checked our wellbeing regularly :) Food: This is heavy stuff. Dont underestimate the main dishes. I can eat a lot, which means order 2 main dishes at most of the restaurants to get really full. But his didnt happen at Salzkammer. After the Wildragout I was so stuffed, that I had to share a Kaiserschmarn. (Hint: Kaiserschmarn is famous). They have only a few vegetarian dishes, but these are really good. Cant find a reason to complain about the food. But I wont recommend this, if you are on diet or want lightweight food. Summary: Something else to eat which is very heavy. Also good "Biergarten" with some food :)

Yelp
Nice restaurant in a convenient location to the shopping and sights in Frankfurt. All members of my family enjoyed their meals. The almond crusted turkey was excellent. My daughter ordered the small veal schnitzel which was quite large. My wife and son both had the veal in mushroom sauce which they also said was tasty. We ordered the Kaiserschmarrn dessert and it was awesome. We've had the same dessert in two other places during our trip in Germany and this was the best! Service was good and friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Really happy to find this gem through yelp, thankfully it helps that Frankfurt is such a busy business district that the waiters speak english, and there are a ton of reviews in english as well. I went with the special of the week, the potato-pumpkin soup. Delicious. Came with some pumpkin seed bread, which I wasn't as big a fan of since there was an anise flavor to it. Then for the main dish, a Viennese style fried chicken (deboned) with a mustard potato salad. Both really delicious, and I was too full to finish eating it and had to take it to go. The Reisling was not as sweet as I thought it would be, but it was refreshing nonetheless. Good service, in typical German fashion.

Yelp
Very good Austrian food. Wiener Schnitzel to die for. Had Dinner with 5 Local Frankfurt Residents & foodies here who were very pleased with their meals. The Kaiserschmarrn was very tasty and authentic desert that tasted like it was prepared by an Austrian grandma. Thumbs up!

Yelp
Best Austrian food outside Austria so far... (To be honest, I didn't realize this was an Austrian restaurant until I looked it up on Yelp after going there)

Ahmed E.

Yelp
What an excellent establishment! The food was perfect - total authenticity yet enjoyable to the untrained/unconditioned palate. I ordered the kaese-spaetzle and the wienerschnitzel. I wish I would have taken a picture - this schnitzel was giant and it was prepared crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The cranberry-loaded sauce was the perfect balance for the schnitzel. Even the complimentary house salad was prepared with locally sourced lettuce that literally melted in my mouth. I can't say enough about the food here; add to it that the wait staff was welcoming and attentive; and the ambience of the traditional, yet updated interior; and you'll understand why it's booked full every weekend!

Yelp
I've been here several times and it's always very good. I head here as soon as I arrive in Frankfurt. Today for lunch I had the seasonal specials: pumpkin soup and roast goose with some type of fruit sauce and a dumpling. It was really good. The waitress picked a great red wine for me, Zweige "soil" which I loved. This restaurant is always full of locals- it's not touristy, but they do have an English menu.

Yelp
Thank goodness we kept wandering and found this place. I made the mistake of searching for "German" on the Yelp app, and since this is listed as "Austrian", it wasn't coming up. But it was a huge winner, and thankfully open late, as we had been wandering for a little while. We went straight to the entrees, and mine was the veal strips in mushroom gravy with buttered spätzle. I had been searching kind of unsuccessfully for spätzle in Nürnberg with no luck - perhaps it's not a Franconian thing? But either way, I was excited to see this on the menu. And it did not disappoint. First off, the spätzle was tender with a slight crispy chewy outside, just the perfect texture for me. And the right amount of salt and butter, plus the gravy from the meat was just awesome. Veal was tender and flavorful, and plenty of nice sliced mushrooms in the excellent rich gravy. My coworker went with the "large" schnitzel, without knowing what large really meant. What they should have said was "Ridiculous American Sized Portion" but that still didn't stop him from finishing it. We were apparently both starving, they barely needed to wash the plates by the time we got done. Salzkammer absolutely hit the spot, I think easily the best meal we had whilst in Germany. Our waitress was friendly, no language problems when my limited German ran out, and they accepted credit cards (which, surprisingly, we had been kind of having a bit of trouble with). If I'm back in Frankfurt (unlikely) this place would be well worth a return.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Great ambiance, phenomenal service and incredible food. If you're gonna come after 6pm make sure you have a reservation.

Yelp
Austrian food, not German! But they're similar. The place was more contemporary compared to Atschel or Gasthaus but the food was very good. Veal schnitzel and veal strips in a mushroom cream sauce with spatzel were ordered, along with a sausage starter. The sausages were so good. The main dishes were excellent as well. Dessert was kaiserscharm (a pancake/frenchtoast/crepe type thing) served piping hot. The staff were super friendly and engaging. As with all pub food in Germany it'll put you in a coma, in a good way.
