Sam’s Tailor did a wonderful job! I’ve wanted a bespoke suit for a long time, so when I was in Hong Kong I visited several tailors. I met Tarzan and he was able to quickly put together a great suit idea that was exactly what I wanted. I came back later that day for a first fitting, and then I traveled for a week and when I came back the suit was done and fit perfectly. But not only did I get an amazing suit, and also got to meet and talk with the amazing people at Sam’s Tailors. Talented, fun to talk to, great stories, and they even have their own beer! What’s not to like? Seriously, it’s the best suit I own and I will be coming back again to get more the next time I visit. So, what’s to like? Tarzan designed a suit with peak lapels, ticket pocket, Tom Ford style cuffs, surgeon’s cuffs with embroidered last button, vent straps, button stays, embroidered name, secret pockets, and everything. The details and attention to quality is outstanding. I feel like a million dollars when I wear it, or dare I say James Bond? He also recommended I go to the Ozone bar to try it out and that was amazing. These guys are classy and will you make you look great. I was much more impressed with his design than what I was offered from places that charged much more.. Thanks Tarzan, Roshan, and Sam!

Google
I have been consistently impressed with Sam's tailor for both the quality of their suits and the outstanding service provided by Roshan. His personal approach, attention to detail, and timely delivery make every experience seamless and enjoyable. Not only have I relied on Sam's for my own personal and professional attire, but my boss and colleagues have also become regular customers. Together, we've purchased suits, shirts, and jackets, and every piece has been top notch. The craftsmanship always draws compliments, and the fit and finish are exceptional. I highly recommend Sam's tailor to anyone looking for quality, reliability, and a truly personal experience.

Google
Very disappointed about the quality and the communication. Travelling from Europe i brought a sample shirt that is perfect and told them to copy the size. They did not want as they said the shirts shrimp when washing despite me insisting. (I wear custom made shirts since 20 years and have experience) they made 10 shirts that are way too big.. 3 months later, and the shirts having being washed several times, i still look like a monkey wearing them. I contacted them for a solution, only solution is to bring them back 🤣so much money wasted.

Sam's Tailor is a must-visit for me every time I am in Hong Kong. I have been going there since 2017, and still wear every suit I've gotten from there to this day. Most recently, I visited Sam's at the end of May this year. As soon as I arrived, Sam and Roshan greeted me as an old friend, immediately serving me one of their signature beers. This time, I had a beautiful linen suit made and some lovely shirts. Sam's is an essential destination for any fashion aficionados visiting Hong Kong. I know I will keep visiting for years to come.

I recently had my first suit stitched at Sam’s Tailor, and it was an incredible experience. Sam was extremely friendly and made me feel completely at ease, even though I walked in not really knowing what I wanted. Instead of judging me, he patiently explained what each choice in a suit meant and helped guide me through the process. I came in feeling anxious, worried that I might make the wrong decisions, but he immediately calmed me down and assured me he would deliver the best results possible. And he truly did. Sam genuinely cares about his clients and always has their best interests at heart. Some people might misunderstand his bluntness, but it’s only because he’s honest and wants you to look your absolute best. His skill, attention to detail, and passion for his work are undeniable. Great man, great tailor, and most importantly, outstanding service. Highly recommend!

Google
I visited Sam's Tailor when I was on vacation in Hong Kong after letting Roshan know that I'd only have 6 days in HK but needed a couple of suits made (1x being my wedding suit). Roshan was very kind, informative and patient as we looked through all the options of fabrics, cuts, linings. I made my initial choices and was able to try on the foundational suits the next day and within 4 days had 2x suits and a cheeky sports coat to take home. I had the chance to debut my wedding suit last week and it looked and felt great throughout the day. Highly recommended and looking forward to revisiting the next time I'm in HK.

Google
I can't recommend Sam's Tailor in Hong Kong highly enough! Their impeccable service and attention to detail were exceptional. They created a perfectly tailored suit jacket for a very tall man—something not easy to find—at a fantastic price. The professionalism, craftsmanship, and customer care were top-notch. Thank you, Sam's Tailor, for exceeding expectations!

Yelp
I had walked in to check out Sam's Tailor when I was in Hong Kong. I had no idea of Roshan's online following. I just really liked his suits that he made for Jon Hamm, and a couple formal interviews he had given for news outlets that ended up online. What impressed me, was that he wasn't trying to be like a British atelier or traditional. The shop was more concerned about self expression and having fun (find the suit he made for Jon Hamm) . Endless linnings at your disposal, as well as styles. I ended up ordering a basic black suit, on purpose. But still ended up with some signature details: modern slim peak lapel, hand pick stitching on the lapel, and slight roped shoulders. . Details you really appreciate after you walk through a department store and realize those details are something you can only get when you order custom. It's a nice subtle flex without being obnoxious. The suit fit great, with the tailored custom shirts to match. I was so impressed I ended up ordering another one. This time decided to have a little more fun with color accents. When I got back from my trip, I did a deep dive and realized I barely scratched the surface of the options that were available. After I received the 2nd suit Navy with aqua blue accents and loved it (pictured in the review). I had to order a 3rd and "Let Roshan Cook". I ended up getting the light grey suit pictured in the review. Roshan consulted personally on this one, and since it was my 3rd suit I was down to try new things: gauntlet cuffs, contrast buttons, compact 3 roll 2 (Sam's Tailor exclusive), and double accent lapel button holes. The suit turned out amazing. These people make suits for celebrities and political figures from all over the world. Don't be afraid to go with their recommendations. Overall it was a great experience, Roshan really means what he says that he will always be available for your questions about suits and style advice. Shout out to Manu Melwani (Roshan's dad), Mira, Durgee, and the rest of the staff. I had a great experience with everyone I interacted with. If you go don't be afraid to have fun with the small details.

Yelp
My fiance and I were looking for ways to get suits for our upcoming wedding. You can't miss the location either, right next to the MTR. Roshan makes the process incredibly easy, he is easy to talk to and gives great guidance on the material, cut and customizations. We returned on the same day to see how the suit would fit and then came back two days later for the final product. sam's tailor goes above and beyond for superior suits - down to each fiber. They were mindful of the time restraint we had and made sure everything was done stunningly. Would absolutely recommend coming to sam's. Their end results and service is above and beyond

Yelp
I took a chance on getting a suit made from across the world, and unfortunately it didn't work out. When I received a suit that didn't fit and wasn't what I'd asked for, Roshan had me take a video and send it back for revision. Unfortunately, when it came back, it was still not what I had asked for and it still didn't fit -- and now Roshan has not responded to me in 3 weeks. In addition, Roshan is narcissistic, rude, and offensive. I knew that to some extent going in, and that was part of the risk I was taking for an affordable bespoke suit -- but I regret my decision. Furthermore, he says everything is done in the name of transparency, while making things incredibly difficult for the customer who is not already knowledgeable. I strongly discourage people from working with Sam's Tailor and regret that I did.

Yelp
I live in California, and many of the tailors locally charge thousands for full 100% bespoke work. Sam's Tailor was under half of those quotes. Roshan at Sam's Tailor is the king of fabrics and style. Catch him on IG/TikTok/YT live daily 7pm PST for ideas. Craftsmanship: This tailor is clearly a cut above the rest. Despite never having met in person, they managed to create a suit that fits me like a glove. The liner, cuffs, collar, and embroidery are pure gold. The dot dot dot stitching is so precise that I half expected it to burst onto a high-fashion runway. The fabric feels like it was woven from unicorn laughter and the tears of fashion critics. Will definitely be ordering more shirts soon, will provide an update with pictures later after an event.

Yelp
A random Google search of Custom Suiting resulted in an intriguing link to Sam's Tailor. That led me to their TikToK account and Instagram account. The rest is history. Roshan, "the face of the franchise" has become an 'ally' in my life's journey. For me and countless others, Roshan is trusted with making us confident, self-aware, and good about ourselves. He earns that trust by taking a deep dive into his client's needs, their life, and aspirations. Passionately he spends the time with clients exploring fabrics, structural detailing and all the other aspects of a true bespoke experience. He is as exuberant and as engaged with the young man getting his first suit, as he is with a C-level executive, or for that matter any of the world renowned he's dressed. As Managing Director and visionary consultant of Sam's he orchestrates, evaluates and evolves every process. My experience has been nothing short of fabulous. Workmanship is second to none and the bespoke detailed offerings will differentiate that clothing from the 'off the rack' characterless garments. I am a 'wardrobe builder' with a very 'deep bench'. I finally grew tired of wearing garments that did not contour to my body. Roshan and his team delivered on every fit concern and added a dimensional look only achievable with a bespoke creation. Roshan has sourced fabric from some of the most exclusive mills for my projects. They have evolved from understated business wear/sport coats with great attributes to visionary self-designed one-of-a-kind brilliant projects. I wear my countless Sam's garments with great pride. To date, my relationship with Sam's has been virtual. For me and countess others the concept of providing one's own measurements on the website form seemed daunting. I am sure some decided not to proceed for fear that an inaccurate measurement would result in a poor outcome or that taking measurements is too time consuming. Don't overthink the process. It only takes 10-minutes, anyone can assist you with a tape measure and in my case I did it myself. They don't blindly construct a suit on the measurements entered, but rather analyze any measurements that seem to conflict with probably body types and follow-up with that 'deeper dive' discussion with the client. Photos are often time submitted to ease any misgivings. I was needlessly apprehensive at first. I am eager to make my next overseas trip specifically to Sam's. Less talk price.... For 1/3 the price of other bespoke/custom clothiers and equivalent price points to off-the-rack Sam's can deliver better quality, better service, amazing detailing, timely turnaround time and most importantly a relationship.

Yelp
Don't shop at Sams unless you want an I'm-Better-Than-You attitude. I heard of Sams Tailor through Melwani's viral tiktoks and was so excited to purchase a suit from them. The service and experience I got fell far from expectations. We were unvalued, unwanted, and ultimately disrespected. We only met Roshan Melwani once in the shop and talked once over a call while he was live-streaming. After our call ended, Melwani had the audacity to utter "grow a personality" amongst other petty insults directed at us behind our backs. These insults were completely unwarranted. I am shocked that this is how they conduct business. It takes a special level of stupidity to insult paying customers and expect them not to find out. Melwani may be a reputable tailor, but his insults directed at us after one conversation speak at length about his character. He is extremely snobby, rude, and unprofessional. I feel disgusted by the fact that I gave him my business. I will not be coming back to Sams or recommending them to family and friends. Don't let his friendly online persona fool you. Find a tailor that actually respects you and your family.

Yelp
Thank you so much to Sam's Tailor and Roshan for these impeccable masterpieces. My customized suits made to perfection to fit my body shape by sending over a photograph. I was quickly measured and within 24 hours two Bespoke suits were created with care of the detailing. The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful during the process as far as choosing which fabrics, buttons and liners to go with each. I'll definitely be back with more ideas and I've already been recommending to friends. Well done! @jyoffe @samstailor

Yelp
I recently bought a suit from Sam's Tailor, and I am over the moon with the result, from the perfect fit to incredible knowledge and expertise that only comes with decades of experience in the industry. Roshan and his team are fantastic at what they do, I would 100% recommend them to anyone that is looking for a new suit.

Yelp
Had the best experience, Roshan, and Sam's Tailors -- they were great in helping me get bring my outfits together. I'm slightly challenging to fit as well-- 6'6 240 -- 44 XL. I was in Hong Kong 2 years ago when I did my first fitting, all around awesome experience in the store, and 5 day turn around to make sure I had my clothes when I headed back to the States. Win all around. I have never had clothes fit better. 2 years later (present day) I needed to re-up. I reached out, selected the fabrics I wanted (3 jackets, 2 shirts) and Roshan reached out to do a video consult to finish up the looks. About 10 days later, once the clothes had been completed, another consult to make sure I liked the way they turned out -- and he nailed it! 100% great additions to my wardrobe -- staples for a long time to come! Somehow even better than round 1! I could not be more thrilled with the service, the speed, and the design input. Very professional and enjoyable experience. Do not let any negative review's sway you -- my clothes fit great, Roshan and team have been incredible to work with. Worth every penny for sure -- very unlikely to buy clothes from anywhere else again. Thanks a ton!

Yelp
We came here to get a suit made for my brother. The initial consultation was quick and to the point which I didn't mind. At about the second fitting when the suit was apparently ready to take home it was clear the fit was terrible. The jacket suit had puckering and didn't lie clean at the back. The shirt we ordered was way too loose and baggy and didn't even have any darting in the back! But the worst offense was that the pants fit horribly. See images. Went back and talked to Sam directly. Sam was absolutely indignant and said it needed to be creased like that or else the suit would be too tight. He kept pointing at my brother uniqlo chinos, my sisters jeans and my pajama pants I was wearing to show me how pants were creased and no pants fell down straight. I pointed out how none of our pants were tailored and he became very angry and agitated. I don't even know why he had to be so upset. Sam clearly doesn't do any of the actual tailoring himself anymore and he doesn't do any of the measurements either. My husband used to work at Hugo boss, my husband's friend manages a Hugo boss, my brother has gotten tailored suits done before and I have gone with many male friends to get tailored suits done as well. Everyone who looked at the pants and the suit said it was a terrible fit and pretty much just as good as a cheap off the rack suit. What's more is that Sam refused to offer any solutions and just acted so insulted that I asked the pant and jacket to lie cleaner and straighter. He then said that, "unless you know Hugo boss' father, don't tell me how a suit should look". I kept repeating to him that I'm not Intending to Insult him and that we just want the pant to flow nicer and he was so indignant and refused to listen and said it was done right. He just refused to do any more work on the pants. We then asked him to at least take the jacket up by max 1cm and Sam said, "yes, OK, half an inch I will take it up". 1 cm DOES NOT EQUAL HALF AN INCH!!! ANYBODY SHOULD KNOW THIS. LOOK AT A RULER! I do believe that at one point this place used to be good. But they churn so many people in and out and now they just rely on old reviews to get by. They don't care about customer service. They just want you to go in and out and take your cash. Oh, we came at 930 am to try on the suit again and Sam said the suits didn't come in until 11am and said the suit was " far far away with the tailor." But Sam has also claimed on other reviews that they do all their tailoring locally upstairs from the shop. So this was a load of BS. It was clear Sam was unused to a woman challenging him as well. He became quite belligerent with me when I told him the fit didn't look right and I think he would have had a better tone talking to another man. He was quite unprofessional and I could see other employees kind of fear him when he was in that state of anger yelling and being Incredibly difficult because he felt so insulted. I became very frustrated at him with his refusal to come to a solution to make the pant look better and I lost all faith when he claimed half an inch was the same as one centimeter. We still have one more fitting to go. I will update the review and let you know if a suitable solution was found.

Yelp
This place is a straight up SCAM!!! Be aware people!! I purchased two suites and both sleeves came up poorly stitched and completely uneven. Then when I confronted him and sent the shirts back the owner Roshan continued to delay the process and eventually vanished. Good thief indeed as he asked for his fabric back so he can take even more. Do not be fooled by the ratings and celebs on their social media game. If you are not a celebrity you are a prime target to get robbed by these thieves.

Yelp
I first went to Sam's Tailor in 2018, in a weeklong visit to HK. They made me several suits and also a tuxedo, along with two dinner jackets. I bought a few custom shirts as well. I recall having at least 3 fittings. I wear suits for work, and have done so for the last 30 years. One could say I know a little bit about menswear. I was astonished at both the quality of the garments and the very reasonable price. My interaction was initially with Manu, and I think he is a wonderful guy and very funny. I continue to buy suits and shirts from them. As I live in the US, more recently I have been dealing with Roshan, Manu's son, online. I cannot adequately convey how much I trust him and his expertise. The process is easy and the service is excellent and amazingly fast. I've had suits made in London, Charleston, and NYC before but I would be hard pressed to find anything near Sam's Tailors price and quality. These guys are really great at what they do. I am glad to call Roshan and Manu my friends. My wife has just placed her first order and she is very excited too!

Yelp
I came across Roshan's TikTok live stream and was fascinated. For a couple of months, I viewed Roshan's endless videos on Instagram and TikTok live streams until I understood what goes into creating a bespoke garment. Roshan gets to know his clients; he can interpret their needs to align with their expectations and is flexible working with them. One day I "pulled the trigger." I sent in my measurements through the measurement chart on the website samstailor.com; that is how the process started. Roshan's responsiveness blew me away. His level of customer care is incomparable. My experience with Roshan and his team has been excellent; I could not be happier. My garments are exactly what I wanted. They are of the finest quality fabrics, infused with his 23 years of expertise, energy, and passion. My first garment was a coat. I was so happy with the quality and fit that I decided to make more pieces. So far, we have terminated three projects together and currently working on a fourth. They include one coat, one jacket, three blazers, one skirt, four shirts, and no doubt more on the way. Don't hesitate if you are thinking about getting a new garment; trust the process. Roshan will bring your vision to life every single time.

Yelp
Great service and nicely made custom suits! A must visit when your in HK. The staff treats you like family and that you're an A-list celebrity + free Beer. Looks like many famous people have had their suits crafted here too :) Pros: custom jacket and shirt =$425 + USD is very reasonable given the service and quick turnaround time. Cons: Can be very busy, touristy and rushed but still worth a visit for the experience.

Yelp
Roshan was extremely helpful throughout the process. I found him through his Instagram live streams about a year ago and have finally decided to get something from him. Whenever I had questions, he would always quickly respond. He has to be one of the most accessible people to get a hold of. The wealth of knowledge Roshan has is unmatched by any other tailor. He is an innovator that keeps his clients ahead of the curve with his new signature styles and features. He is also one of the few tailors who can make anything you want him to. Another thing he excels at is his pricing and transparency. He isn't like the other suitmakers who add hidden charges for every feature. He tells you the price and adds on the features for free (For Example, Gauntlet cuffs, pick stitching, functional buttonholes, and accent stitching). You won't find pricing like this anywhere. $650 USD is an unheard-of price for a fully bespoke suit with all the features. Sams tailor is such a unique store and special place you have to try at least once in your life. If you don't live in Hong Kong, you can order online and still get the same fantastic consolation and customer service as you would if you were in person.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Sams Tailor with Roshan and Simon. I showed up and picked out the fabric, got all the specialties of a bespoke suit including the double vent, ticket pocket, lining, working buttons on the sleeve, and lapel / button hole colored thread. I will be back in for a sport coat in May 2020.

Yelp
I don't know how words can describe how happy I am with Roshan and Sam's Tailor. It was one of the easiest and best experiences I've ever had purchasing anything. More importantly, I worked with the team to create the absolute perfect suits. A few weeks before traveling, I emailed Sam's website and let them know I'd be coming and needed to get a few suites and more importantly, my wedding tuxedo. Within hours, I got a personalized email from Roshan. We traded emails back and forth, because I was worried I would not have enough time. I was only in HK for 24 hours before continuing my travels out of HK. Roshan told me not to worry, that I could come in first thing on Saturday morning when he opened and I could come back later that afternoon. The measuring and fitting of the shell could all be done in one day. I was relieved, because I remembered from the last time, how much detail was put into the fitting. Roshan told me I was booked. The morning I arrived in HK at the airport, I was just about to email Roshan that I had arrived and reminding him that I was on a tight time frame. When I opened my email after landing, there was an email from Roshan welcoming me to HK and confirming I was coming in. Talk about customer service! When I got to the store, Roshan greeted me with the same enthusiasm as you see on TV like he does with celebrities. Some of the reviews that say you don't get the same customer service unless you are famous are absolutely non-sense. Jet lagged from a 15 hour flight, he handed me a beer and we got to work. They re-measured me from top to bottom (even though nothing had changed since 2015 somehow), like it was my first time there. Just like the TV interviews, Roshan sized me up in two minutes. He and has father asked me some basic questions about where I work, the attire at my office, my casual attire preferences, and about my other suites. As I was talking Roshan took out books of threads, already picking what suit colors I needed. He was 100% accurate. I loved every style he picked and they were all appropriate for my work. Because I work in a very conservatively dressed office, Roshan encouraged me to pick some fun suit lining. It can be very overwhelming designing a suite, because you get to design everything--from the pockets to the buttons. But the kind staff was there to help me and make suggestions at each and every step. When it came to picking out my wedding tuxedo, it was a lot of fun. We went over each detail to make sure it was unique and perfect. After the suits and tux were done, Manu helped me pick some nice shirts to match the suites. I left after about a solid hour and a half. I wound up getting 10 shirts, 6 suites, and a tuxedo. The amount I spent for that was astonishingly a bargain, compared to what a suit costs at Nordstroms, Saks, or Bloomingdales. Later that afternoon, around 5pm, I returned for my fitting. The pants and the jacket shell were done. Roshan was there and asked me a ton of questions on how everything fit. He made me sit down, stand, and walk around to make sure that everything was accounted for. The entire time Roshan was giving specific direction to his staff on what changes to make. Because I only had 24 hours in HK, I couldn't pick up the suit in-person and get one more fitting after they were made. Instead, Roshan mailed me one suit and one shirt to try on before making the other suites and tuxedo. When I received the package, I tried on the suit and sent picture from all angles to Roshan on Instagram chat. He immediately responded with no delay and walked me through the angles he wanted to see. Because he is a perfectionist he wanted me to send the suit back. I thought it looked great, but he has the professional eye and wanted to make some changes. I sent them back and he made the changes he saw fit based off my pictures I sent to him via text. A few weeks later, he sent me two re-altered suites and two shirts. Everything fit like a glove. I have no clue how he did it from across the world. I told him he is a magician! Seriously, he looked at pictures I sent him through text and made alterations to make the suit fit absolutely perfectly (even though I thought the first version he sent was great). When I texted him the revised pictures, about a week or so later I got the rest of the order. Although the process took a few weeks because I was not able to try a fully made suit on while in HK, do not worry. It was a simple process once he sent me the suites to try on. All you need to do is send him pictures and he knows what changes to make (even when you may think none need to be made). All this was done through instagram messaging. Roshan was responsive anytime of day or night, and never annoyed with the questions I was asking him or for status updates on the suites delivery.

Yelp
I've had custom suits made in the US, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Japan. Thinking my experience would be similar we decided to check out Sam's Tailor in Hong Kong. There are pictures of dignitaries and celebrities adorning the walls and tons of excitement. I decided on a suit and a sports jacket (they were not inexpensive). Sam's didn't take the time to measure me properly and when we went back in for the fitting nothing fit well. The arms were way too large, legs were baggy on the top and tight on the bottom and the jackets were poorly stitched. Tony at Sam's said he would redo them and have them delivered to our hotel that night while we were out. The next day we flew back. I returned to the US to find a poor alteration job made with some of the same errors. They had me take pictures with the suits on and DHL them back for more alterations - today the suits still don't fit well and they refuse to provide a refund. I strongly suggest steering clear of this place. In response to Sam... This is the first time that I'm posting regarding your poor work. I was staying less than 10 minutes away from your shop. I did come back in for additional fittings and have photos to prove it. I have documentation and photos to prove my entire stay in Hong Kong. You're obviously mistaking me with someone else. Check the emails Between me and TONY at your shop.

Yelp
Extremely poor customer service and poor quality suits. Unfortunately I was expecting both to be amazing but when I arrived I quickly realized they only take good care of celebrities, not regular folks. And then I was I under the impression they had quick turnaround. Nope. They said it would take 3 weeks and had to ship my suit to me. When it arrived, it was so poorly made to my shock that I had to ship it all the way back to Hong Kong to them to remake. They did a decent job the second time. But wow, not worth the frustration. They produce terrible quality for most people because they don't value anyone who isn't famous they want take a picture with and stick on their wall. I would avoid and go find someone else to make your custom suit who actually cares about pleasing the customer and doing honorable work. EDIT FOR RESPONSE FROM SAM'S BELOW: I did contact you. You guys told me to get lost and effectively to go pound sound. Unbelievably poor customer service. You guys only care about celebrities who you can leverage their picture for. I suppose they probably will do a good job for you if you're George Clooney. But if you're not a celebrity, they won't give you the time of day and/or will do a rush job on your suit and do a really slipshod job.

Yelp
Sam's Tailor does the BEST job in the world at creating custom clothes for a really good price. I've been ordering clothes from Sam's for the past 7 years and am very impressed by the quick turnaround, level of detail and quality of product. Roshan does an amazing job creating new styles and increasing the level of service! The custom shirts and suits last and continue to receive compliments at events. They keep your measurements on file, so you're able to reference your customer #, view materials online and place an order to have it shipped anywhere in the world. I'll continue to order from Sam's for the rest of me life.

Yelp
An iconic 'place to visit' in Hong Kong. Sam is a world-famous tailor that has styled and suited some of the most notable/iconic men and women in the world. You will see plastered all over his wall photos of him suiting famous presidents and celebrities. Sam is high quality and high volume and takes his time to create his masterpiece. His employees are great stylists and will walk through all the steps and styles and offer their personal suggestions (and often times the most affordable options). I accidentally stumbled in Sams after being burned by another tailor and shady sales tactics. I walked into Sam's annoyed and frustrated and Sam approached him asking what was wrong. He did nothing to 'sell me' on his services, rather tried to show me his product, what he was capable of doing and freely let me make a decision to buy or walk out. He is an honest and transparent tailor that lets his reputation speak for himself. He knew I was fragile and annoyed being burnt by other shady tailors in HK, and offered to give me a piece of mind offer (all in one price, resizing included, as well as shipping and customs fee's at a price that was a steal). What I like about Sam and his team is they take their time with each customer and walk you through every option possible. No matter your budget, they treat all customers the same. Rather you're buying 20 super 180 wool suits (which people commonly do) or you're just window shopping, you will receive the same care. Highly suggest visiting when in Hong Kong. Will easily make the trip back to Hong Kong from the States, just to get sized up for a wedding tux.

Yelp
This was my third trip to Sam's and it was outstanding as always. It truly is an amazing experience in every way. From the moment you arrive, the customer service experience is first-rate. Roshan and Manu always make you feel at home, and you walk away feeling like you bought the best clothes on the planet. You're never rushed because the customer engagement is so intimate and educational. The big personalities and culture of Sam's make it a very fun atmosphere as well. After buying several suits, this is certainly the case for me. I look forward to my next visit!

Yelp
If you are looking for quality, professionalism, perfection then stop searching here. Sam's Tailor is the BEST. There is a reason why Sam's does not have to have a guy on the streets of Hong Kong handing out cards and pushing customers into their shop. 7 US Presidents have had suits made here; multiple dignitaries, and the shop walls are filled with photos of celebrities and the Who's who on planet earth!! Roshan is amazing, attentive, and absolutely professional. We stopped to have a couple suits made on recommendation and it was more than just getting suits. It was an amazing experience of our Hong Kong trip. Their tailors are outstanding with thousands of fabric choices. After 36 hours, the suits were ready and PERFECT. So perfect that I opted for a 3rd suit and a fun sports jacket that Roshan and I designed together. His sense of style is amazing and the suits fit as if they were molded for your body. Don't stop with suits either. I ended up getting 6 shirts that fit better than any shirt I've ever bought in my many many years of travel. Bottom line, this is THE place to get suits in Hong Kong.

Yelp
Sam's tailor is the premier place to go for a custom made suit. Unlike most of the tailors in HK, Sam's does not attempt to pull people into its store, nor does it need to. The place is packed and I definitely see why. The suits they produce are amazing, top quality, 100% cashmere, extremely well fitted suits. Over the course of a weekend I went there four times for original and follow up fittings (I was with a group), each time, from as early as 10 am and to as late as 5pm, the place was packed. The shop had as many eight people working with customers. Despite the great team, don't expect to be the centre of attention in the place, you may have to wait a second. However, once you are seen by someone, you will be treated extremely well once you've been helped. My group and I worked with Sam, he was great, old school guy, extremly friendly and warm. I also worked with and communicated with Roshan pre- and post- visit (I had to order another suit...thanks AsiaAir!). Nevertheless, everybody was awesome, Roshan was great, worked with me to ensure I was more than happy with my suit. My only regret is that I didn't order two. Next time I am in Asia, I will be sure to stop by HK so I can have another suit made by the team at Sam's.

Yelp
I have spent a lot of time in HK and used to use Sam's. If you have a suit made by these people, you need to bone up on bespoke tailoring, know exactly what you want and watch them like a hawk. They will take short cuts and take advantage of you at every opportunity to save a few pennies on their costs if you don't call them on it. The last straw with these guys were a half dozen shirts I had ordered. When I went to pick them up, the shirt cuffs were switched. The right cuff was sewn on the left sleeve and vice versa. I rejected them and asked them to remake them. When I went to pick up the "fixed" shirts, they were wrong as well. On the third attempt to pick up the shirts they were still wrong. I walked out of the shop without the shirts and told them they could keep their shirts. They charged my AmEx anyway and I got into a fight with AmEx as well telling them that I never received the finished goods. AmEx forced me to pay for shirts I never received ($200). Sam's lost a potentially good customer. I never went back. There are much better tailors all over HK. These guys ride on their past reputation. Skip them.

Yelp
I'm copy/pasting the same review I had on TripAdvisor here as I think my experience was very relevant for people who are seriously considering a tailored suit in Hong Kong - Short version: would not advise! As someone who comes from a family of tailors, this place was shockingly awful in terms of service and quality. There are many other places that are much better and actually appreciate your patronage. Also, Sam's Tailor responded to my review on TripAdvisor but I'm not able to respond; they claimed that I mixed up their businesses as their shop is "not small and cramped," however, I am not mistaken. It is definitely the same location. ------------------------- My boyfriend and I went into Sam's in the later half of 2014 when we first moved to Hong Kong. Since he wanted to get a bunch of new suits and shirts made, we came here after hearing all the raves. I mean, they dressed celebrities! After reading all these reviews, I have to say that maybe the actual owners or the direct family members provide better service, but our experience was awful. Despite ordering multiple suits and over a dozen business shirts, we did not get much assistance in choosing fabrics or colors. Perhaps the person helping us was new or too inexperienced to properly explain the fabrics, appropriate cuts, color trends, matching threads, etc. We were asking for guidance hoping this "expert" could have the confidence to understand what we were looking for. Perhaps its our fault for not requesting the owner or someone more experience, however at the time we didn't know any better. We can overlook the crowded, small spaces as it's more about the quality of the craftmanship, however it was so poor we were shocked. The initial fitting was very ill-fitting and loose; the shoulders were too big and had excess fabric. They tried to say that this was just the initial fitting and that it was normal. Okay sure. We came back another time; it still didnt' look well fitted. We had to keep asking to take it in around the shoulders as well as the waist as we wanted a slim, fitted cut, however it looks like they only took in the waist without adjusting the shoulders or arms so the shirt and fabric looks strangely pinched and doesn't sit nicely on the body. They even at first refused to acknowledge that there was anything wrong with the fit of the shirts, which felt insulting. They would say things like, oh that's just how the shoulders are, they need extra fabric to move around. That's just how the waist is, etc. It felt like they just didn't want to make the effort to fix them so that it actually looked good and fitted. I mean, this is why we decided to do custom-made, so that it looks perfect on your body! My family members are also tailors (not located in HK) so I understand you need some fabric allowances for movement but not THAT much! In the end, we had to go back so many times and we needed the outfits for a business trip so we had a (generous) deadline. Even worse, the day they were supposed to deliver the shirts as promised, they never showed up and never called to explain or follow up. We called them and they said they will deliver it the next day before a certain time. Again, didn't show up on time despite us waiting around for it as we needed them for a business trip. And the shirts/jackets still didn't fit properly. Awful service and felt like we got the short end of the stick, especially with everyone's positive reviews. Left a terrible feeling over the whole experience at the cost of thousands of US dollars.

Yelp
Every member of their team is exceptional, professional, and will go above and beyond to make sure your experience is out of this world. I had a once in a lifetime experience getting 3 suits made for me at sam's. ROSHAN was a dream to work with and extremely knowledgeable; furthermore he answered any and all questions I had. Suits came out beautifully and fit like a glove. Since then, I have ordered several shirts and a Tux and sport coats. The experience is easy and they have fit extremely well with the exact color i wanted. If you want top quality suits and the best experience... Sam's is the place for you

Yelp
My original review about the instore experience is at the bottom. This review is about an order I placed from the USA to Roshan since my dimensions were on file. The entire process was quick and easy. I was concerned about ordering colors and patterns from pictures online and not being able to see them in person. Roshan answered some questions to help me make a selection. The suit and shirts I ordered were all perfect fits, great colors, and very high quality. I did find out this time that they have higher quality fabrics than what they originally show you, so if you want to step it up a notch or two you should be even more satisfied with your purchase. I was a little uneasy about wiring money overseas but Roshan provided clear instructions that I gave to my bank and it was very easy. I had everything delivered to my door in only a few days! I look forward to my next order from these great folks. -------------------------- Original Review: "First Class Threads" 5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2016 via mobile This was the only item I had on my To-Do List for my first trip to Hong Kong. As luck would have it, they were located on the block next to my hotel. I don't understand how they keep track of everyone and everything given how busy they usually are during afternoon/evening. But they have a way of making you feel like they are all there to serve you. They remembered my name after the first trip in. Every time I walk in the door they know who I am and what I am there for despite the place being bustling with people. They also provide quick turn-around. Measurements and fit for all items were spot on. Quality and workmanship are unparalleled. They are also very helpful offering suggestions for patterns and fabrics. Tip: if you want more intimate experience, go anytime other than their peak times of 3pm-6:30pm. Roshan and Manu provide impeccable personalized service and keep measurements on file for future remote orders.

Yelp
So my husband and I came here to get 3 suits made for him around Feb 2017. so we did the whole thing of choosing the fabrics and colours... I think we paid 7,000 HKD. At the first fitting they messed up the colour but my husband was nice enough to buy it still.. but requested they should make the right one.. After all is done, we realised that they make the length of the pants - what I call- Hong Kong length = the hem hits at the higher part of the ankle rather than sweeping closer to the shoe/floor. So it looks almost like a Capri because you can clearly see the socks. Lol . If you want a longer hem, you should make it clear to them. Lastly, after 2-3 months of normal wear ( he only wears the suits for work) we find that the seams are coming undone.. my husband takes impeccable care of this clothing so I know this isn't his fault. Soooooo.. although the suits are nice looking, we are not sure of the life span of it... Maybe we will try then one more time.. but we live in Japan now, so maybe not.

Yelp
Incredible experience. The people here are fast, friendly, and experts at what they do. I got the best suit i own here for a fraction of what it would cost in the States. Believe the hype.

Yelp
I was introduced to Sam's Tailor on my first trip to Hong Kong in 1987. I've been fortunate to visit them almost every time I am in Hong Kong & to have clothes made. Their workmanship is incredible, they value their customers & produce fabulous clothes. I cannot say enough good things about them. When in Hong Kong, make sure you visit them. You will NOT be disappointed!!!!!

Yelp
Best deal and best customer service. When in Hong Kong Sam's is the place to go! From start to finish the attention to details taken into each suit, shirt or vest is great. Large selection of material, and patterns to choose from. All staff are friendly and professional. When walking into Sam's you feel like walking into a friends house, warm and friendly.

Yelp
Getting a suit from Sam's is an experience from the moment you walk through his doors. There's no sales pitch, he doesn't have sleazy guys on the street pulling you in. They'll walk you through every step from choosing fabrics to the smallest details like button type and stitch pattern. Everyone in the store very professional and can answer any question you could possibly have. I ended up getting two knockout suits that fit me better than my Hugo boss suits and have the same if not, better quality. I will definitely be back to Sam's for my next suit.

Yelp
I'd hate to say "cheap suits" because these suits and shirts aren't cheap in construction or quality. They are pretty affordable and inexpensive by California standards. Sam himself helped me pick out a cut and fabric and two matching shirts. Made in about 2 days and delivered by courier to my hotel. You do have to go back for a second or maybe third fitting (which is great as that gets the cut right). The suit...well lets just say the few times I wore it, people were amazed (more so than the amazement that comes from seeing me in a suit).

John J.

Yelp
I had a suite made in July 2018. The service and quality were outstanding! I was unsure about exactly what I wanted and luckily I worked with Roshan who was able to provide me with excellent advice. The style and fit was incredible - James Bond never had a suite this nice! Thank You!

Yelp
Best experience I have ever had buying a suit (or any clothing). The team has it down to an art-form. From selection to measurement to completed product in 48 hours. Roshan, Roy and the rest of the team are first-class.

Erik J.

Yelp
Do not recommend. Unfortunately had a very bad experience considering the high hopes I had. Went in and got fitted for 10 shirts, returned 4 hours later for an adjustment (which was good because their measurements were way off) and I figured all was good. Was supposed to have shirts delivered next day to hotel. They don't show or call. No answer when I called. Next day same thing but finally they answer and they claim they sent shirts to wrong hotel. I flew back to the US and they were to ship shirts. Shirts arrive and they are huge. Unwearable. I called twice and email twice and still no call back from them. Have to go to a local tailor and pay an extra $250 to get them fixed. Now since I can't get a return call I'm disputing through my credit card. Very unprofessional especially considering each shirt is about $70usd. Was planning on making this an annual thing for suits and shirts but I'll never return.

Yelp
This is the first time I tailor made suits, said I have heard that Sam's tailor is the best and famous tailor shop, so I went to try. I made a suit and the tailor is very professional, the first day, he did the measuring, when I came back to fitting the second day, the size was incredibly suitable for me and only need to change a little bit, so that's surprised me. And the people in Sam's is friendly, although my bf is a super picky man, they also treat him very nicely and try to meet his all requirements, I sure I will come back later. Are you tired with buying clothes outside and can't suit with your body ? Come here and have a fresh experience

Yelp
Great service! And fantastic suits and shirts made to measure in short order. Every time I'm in HK I try to pick up another suit.

Yelp
Great suit, I am still finding new built-in features. The experience is really cool too. Avoid the guys on the street who want to take you into another store...

Yelp
Used to be great, seems to go downhill every time I revisit. Had some awesome waistcoats made here, tried to reorder, even gave them one of the first ones they made to copy, the results were pretty terrible. They also promised me that they would be available in time, and ended up not being, and had to be mailed to me, which they were ands received with no issues. However when I received them, the fit was terrible and I had to pay another tailer here to fix them, which if you are a tailor is pretty much unforgivable after 3 fittings... As mentioned I've had good items from them in the past, but those days seem to be over. Also the shop has basically turned into a tourist attraction now, and I think thats their main business. The quality is really not up to par anymore and the service seems to be rapidly talking a turn for the worst... Its really a 2.5 star review..

Yelp
They did me well, lived up to the hype. Service is second to none and the suit was worth the price.

Yelp
Amazing tailors!! Had a custom suit and shirt made. Couldn't be happier. The service and quality are unbeatable. Don't fall for the scams or knockoffs of other tailors in HK. Sam's is the place to go!!!

Yelp
My son and I came to Hong Kong for a rare vacation, and based on recommendations from a friend in the U.S., Sam's was first on our to do list. Roshan and the staff were amazing. Between the two of us we had four suits, three shirts, three dresses and a skirt. Most of them were finished in 48 hours; the few that were finished a day later were because of their very careful attention to exacting detail. We will both definitely be ordering from Sam's again! Oh...and forgot to mention this on trip advisor...the prices were very fair. And finally, the service is very personable. Despite the fact that they always seem busy, Roshan acknowledges everyone as if he or she is his best friend! The whole experience was a pleasure.

Yelp
Was fitted for my first 3 piece suit last summer, and have ordered 3 more remotely, and all fit impeccably. Shirts are radiant and beautiful. Material is beautiful. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Yelp
Apparently, Hong Kong is known around the world for its reputable tailors. It's hard for me to find a good tailor in the states, and even harder to find a good suit off the rack to alter because of my weird dimensions (my waist size is 30, my quad size is 35, etc.) My girlfriend recommended Sam's Tailor; featured in Forbes and has serviced former U.S. Presidents, Michael Jackson, Queen Elizabeth, and other high-profile celebrities. I literally chose everything from the fabric, pocket styles, liner, lapels, down to the buttons. My suit was done in 2 business days and came out cheaper than the designer suits I bought in the states. I was so pleased with the fit and quality of the final product, I bought another one to pick up in a couple days. It's cool they save your measurements so that you can order online if you can't physically be there. Plan to order more and have them shipped to the states!
