3rd time over the years we've stayed here prior to our flight home to the UK. The location and connectivity is super convenient. The main areas are very plush and the service is very SE Asian, in other words Superb. The pool area is a haven and the viewing area of one of the runways is very interesting. We always do the Exec Lounge and as ever it was excellent with Erric and Elizabeth and the chef working very hard to keep us happy. Will hopefully return.

Great hotel, probably the best hotel at the airport where I stayed. Very convenient location, but if you fly to Terminal 1. It takes a long time to get from Terminal 2. Amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Well-equipped rooms, the first time I met a room in which the whole room can be controlled from the bedside table: light control, curtains, alarm clock, time in different regions. Great swimming pool and gym. I definitely recommend this hotel. And the fastest check-in.

Perfect accommodation if leaving KL early. Breakfast starts at 6 and offers rich variety of western and Asian food. The service is friendly, however it was a bit of a challenge to communicate on the phone before arrival. The rooms are clean, beds comfy, but you can see some wear and tear in the bathroom where the shower cabin is leaking and carries signs of numerous unsuccessful repairs. Not a big deal, but this doesn't match the hotel's image. Location allows to reach the terminal building in 5 mins by regular buggy service. Also, the car rental facilities are across the street, which I found convenient when returning the car.

My wife and I had another great stay at Sama Sama KLIA. |We arrived on a flight from Melbourne and our connecting flight to Sarawak was not until the next day. ||The service levels at this hotel are consistently high, starting with the buggy driver who picked us up on level 2 at the airport side. He welcomed us with a smile and cheerful greeting and loaded our heavy suitcases on the buggy and whisked us across the connecting footbridge to the hotel. ||Check in was fast and our bags arrived in our room within just a few minutes. The rooms are absolutely soundproof and black out completely so we had a good night’s sleep. ||Would definite recommend and return.

A Perfect Stay Before My Flight to TurkeyI had the pleasure of staying at Sama Sama Hotel KLIA 1 last Saturday, 23rd November, as I had a flight to Turkey scheduled for 7:55 PM that evening. The experience was nothing short of excellent, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my choice. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and efficient service. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were courteous, ensuring I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The room was immaculate and well-appointed, offering a serene environment to relax before my journey. The bed was incredibly comfortable, allowing me to rest properly before the long flight ahead. The amenities provided were of high quality, and the attention to detail in the room setup made my stay even more enjoyable. What stood out the most was the buggy service that provided direct access to KLIA. This feature was not only convenient but also saved me a lot of time and hassle. Being able to seamlessly transition from the hotel to the airport terminal without worrying about transportation was a game-changer and truly elevated the experience.Overall, Sama Sama Hotel KLIA 1 provided a stress-free and luxurious experience. Whether you’re catching an early flight, have a layover, or simply want a comfortable place to stay near KLIA, I highly recommend this hotel. I will definitely choose Sama Sama again for my future travels.

The hotel has a great location, conveniently near the airport, with a buggy service available between the hotel and the airport terminal, which was very helpful. The rooms were nice and comfortable overall, but there were a few issues during my stay. The hotel was upgrading its phone system, so we had some difficulty calling the reception. Additionally, the batteries in the TV remote were flat, and I couldn’t turn off the TV, which was inconvenient. The biggest downside was the noise in the corridors throughout the night, with people walking and doors constantly being closed. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. While the location and amenities are good, improvements in maintenance and soundproofing would make the stay much better.

Arriving from KL by taxi early evening first impression was great. The hotel is very attractive and there are many staff around greeting and helping with doors/luggage/lifts. Welcome was formal rather than friendly. Our room was large with a big bed and fussy details for controlling lights and blinds electronically. However we didn’t like that we couldn’t work out how to open mini fridge, there was a limited choice on tea and the bathroom toiletries were mini bottles which are not good environmentally. We asked for ice more than once before it was brought to our room, I would rather help myself at an ice machine. I would prefer these smaller details to be right rather than the fancy big things. Also, the outside pool area seemed a little worn and looked like it all needed a good clean around the grounds in our view. |On the plus side breakfast was plentiful and available very early and the buggy shuttle service was excellent. |Overall a decent one night stay but wouldn’t have thought it was five star.

Google
comfortable stay even if it was just a 9 hour layover 😴 located within transit means you don't have to check out and in again. Food options were not that great - just the usual fast food options. But they were right outside the hotel though so you could just grab your takeaways while checking in. But there seems to be a buffet going on inside the hotel 🏨 Clean comfy sheets and bed, hot water shoeer 🚿 and a generous assortment of teas and coffees. A very viable option for future layovers in KL.

Yelp
Honestly not my favorite airport by any means. I was stuck at the Air Asia terminal... my goodness was it shockingly crappy. Some parts of the terminal feel like a basement while others are just chaos! Be sure to get to your gate early if you plan on wanting to sit. Because it seems like those who planned the seating areas wildly miscalculated the number of actual people on these flights. There aren't many food options and while they have a 7/11 type of store (honestly it might have actually been a 7/11) it was crowded the ENTIRE time I was there. Just crazy long lines and the store itself wasn't very big. I ended up going to Burger King where I had a very gross vegetarian meal. Which is weird because in Thailand their BK has a decent veggie burger... not so here! At least it was quick. Also I know I know I know ... I shouldn't have gone to BK but I was desperate. I will be visiting this airport again soon but hopefully I will be in the other terminal. This one was just not a good experience. But to be fair I was already pretty tired making my way from Cambodia. So I do need to disclose my state of mind lol

Yelp
Pro tip: If you're in the International Terminal with time to kill or near the P gates, beneath the food court are shops, including Taste of Malaysia, a brilliant international airport concept - you can taste the a lot of what they sell before you buy! Spacious, clean terminal. Lots of massage chairs (paid) but most people seem to use them as free recliners Good signage, easy navigation overall. I wish they had more Malaysian restaurants (Ahh Yum looks like the best bet -- it's where I'm going to dine and will review separately -- but I suppose US fast food is popular, too ‍ (there's a McDonalds, A&W and more.) There is also a Taste of India.

Yelp
The dining options on the international side included McDonalds, Burger King, a Cafe, Chicken restaurant. I had a short layover here after leaving Seoul, Korea and traveling to Bali, Indonesia. This is a typical airport. There were less people than I expected and I got through security fairly quickly.

Yelp
I flew Air Asia from Changi(Singapore) airport to and from Malaysia. The airport was very modern and had a nice selection of places to eat and shop. Immigration/Customs was surprisingly quick considering the long lines and there were no issues. I collected some local currency at an ATM inside the airport which was needed in order for me to use public transportation. I used the skybus to transport me from the airport to my hotel going but used the train on my return trip back to the airport. I bought some snacks in the airport for my 1 hour bus ride which was very affordable just like everything else compared to the US dollar. I had the unfortunate pleasure of taking the free shuttle bus from KLIA 2 to KLIA the old airport after missing my return flight to Singapore, LOL. Be prepared because the shuttle is slow to arrive and I was surprised that its about a 10min to 15 min bus ride from each airport. KLIA 2 was like JFK and KLIA was like LaGuardia. LOL

Yelp
Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 or KLIA2 is your hub if you are traveling on a low-cost carrier. That's right. If you are traveling on Air Asia, Airasia X, all the other variants of Air Asia and all other lcc. Arriving I found the arrival process to be straight forward. Going trough immigration and customs was not as complicated as I thought it would be. Immigrations was busy when I arrived and the lines were long but that can be said with any country you visit. Though, I did find the arrival hall confusing as it lead straight to a level with shops and eateries. If you want to take a taxi to KL, your will need to go to the bottom floor and purchase a taxi ticket before heading outside to the next available taxi. Departing If you are departing of Air Asia, look for any electronic kiosk that has either a short line or passengers that are young. Think younger = more technical educated. Also, beware of individuals checking-in for groups. The kiosks will be a hustle so good luck. Domestic flights - I noticed there were kiosk vendors that sold nuts and dates!!! International flights - You will have to go through security twice. First, the initial security after checking-in. Second, right before our gate. Restrooms/washroom facilities - This is hit or miss. Plus - The airport is entirely enclosed so.... AC baby!!!!!! Large windows to view outside and stare at the incoming and outgoing planes. Overall, I found KLIA2 to be a good airport.

Yelp
I took a train to KLIA2 from KLIA1 in order to take Air Asia. I should have flown direct to the final destination but I booked it up to KL in case my family decides to be here before I go back to NY. It's not that hard to go from these 2 terminals. I live in NY, always have to figure things out how to get around. Nothing is hard if you follow the system and signs. I did have to ask questions but that's because I didn't read the sign. One thing I would suggest they do is to open the waiting room gate when you see people start sitting on the floor. That's the sign they really need to sit and tired. I wasn't the only one but a lot of people were so tired waiting for the waiting room to be opened. I think they should use their discretion.

Yelp
Tearing down the old LCCT and re-establishing AirAsia in KLIA2 was meant to be a good move for the company and the country. However I soon realize that despite now being less than two miles between this and KLIA1, it still remains a HUGE pain to transit through despite it being in operation for nearly three years now. This review is on the process of transferring terminals between flights flown on a low-budget airline (aka AirAsia aka KLIA2) and a mainline carrier (aka MH, CX, etc. in KLIA1). The process is so cumbersome and confusing that even the most experienced travelers I recommend having at least two hours to complete the entire process. Long story short, my most recent trip through KL had me changing over Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia, both at separate distinct airport terminals. You need to remember these key steps if you want to make sure you make it to your next flight especially since they are not on the same ticket: 1. You MUST clear Malaysian immigration and customs before being able to transfer to the other terminal. There are signs for a bus/shuttle inside the terminal between KLIA1 & KLIA2. Don't believe them as they are not operational and a complete farce. 2. Once you clear immigration, look for the immediate bus zone and the large, purple shuttle buses that provide free transfers between the two terminals. The journey between the two comes every ten minutes but I swear it is not easy to find at all. Ask someone working in the airport for the actual lane the bus stops at- you should not need to pay anything for the transfer. 3. Upon arrival to your next terminal, be ready to climb five stories of slow moving platforms and escalators that make you question your sanity. Hopefully you have a boarding pass so you can rush to immigration (again) and get to your gate for your flight. We couldn't even appreciate the new terminal because of how rushes we were. The way-finding at KLIA2, while plentiful, is confusing for those transferring and really made me question ever transiting through KL again. It's a Southeast Asian hub for sure but the stress of it all is not worth the effort. If you must go through KLIA1 or KLIA2, be ready!

Yelp
You can find anything you need here. Alcohol, cosmetics, dink, food, souvenir, ... Much cleaner than I expected. They need to clean bathrooms more often though. Free filtered water everywhere.

Yelp
I have to be totally upfront: If you arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and need to take Air Asia or if you arrive via Air Asia and are heading towards another location within Asia - you will have to get your luggage and take a bus to the second KL airport. The bus is ALWAYS packed to the brim with travellers and tons and tons of luggage ... and sometimes the a/c is quite weak - so expect to arrive at the second airport a wet, hot mess!!! Also, what is so strange to me is that for a country with the best food in the entire world, the food choices at K Airports are not that great ... That toilets/bathrooms are clean, and that is a major bonus point for me right there. Security personnel are professional and not rude like other places in the world.

Yelp
It's a new airport terminal that pretty much is used by a low budget airline company called Air Asia which is super huge in Asia and the reason why is because it's cheap flights to many places around the Asian area. I haven't flown out here that many times but recently when I went to Singapore this is the spot that I ended up in. Overall the flow of immigration and checking your mags through security was very fast and easy. When your walking around to your gate there are stores along the way if you would want to buy a snack or some food. I bought a cup or coffee at the Dome Coffee section but even before that I did see a lot of other people ordering food at some other cafes. The place is new and seats are also new, plus he bathrooms are mainly clean!! So overall a good clean airport.

Yelp
Flew air audio to this airport from Singapore Changi airport. You get what you'll need. Clean and not chaotic. Bathroom is clean. People are nice. It's a safe country inc with step out to begin your trip.

Yelp
I had a layover flight with, you guessed it Air Asia, at KLIA2 Terminal 2 very early in the morning. When I landed, it was easy to locate a monitor which told me which gate to head to. However, I had a hard time locating the gate itself as the signs and sections of the airport did not follow any logical order. Large areas of the airport were under construction or being renovated so I found it harder to really get a handle on where I was. When I finally figured out where to go, I headed over to my gate to discover that there were very few chairs situated beside it. The gate itself was closed off so all the passengers had to huddle around a few seats with many being left to stand, sit on the floor, or lean on their suitcases until the gate opened for boarding. Many of the food places were closed when I arrived (around 3:00 am) and the chain store that was open did not accept credit cards. I was going to be at the airport for about 2.5 hours so I didn't really feel the need to exchange currency and didn't want to go through the hassle to eat a small snack. The thing that frustrated me the most were the bathrooms in this airport. I walked to two separate toilets and found that they were extremely dirty and dark. The lighting in both bathrooms was subpar and frankly, there was no light inside the stall. I essentially had to use a dirty bathroom stall with water all over the floor in low light condition. This is something I never want to do again. Especially not at 3:00 am on little sleep during a 2.5 hr layover. Overall, I had a rather bad experience at this airport and hope that I never have a connecting flight here again.

Yelp
I didn't have a good experience here. My flight arrived at KLIA1 but I had to come here to pick up a pre-paid sim card (unaware the other terminal was so far away). Pros: 1. Seems like a good selection of retail here. Cons: 1. The biggest problem was getting a Grab car. I was directed to a certain level, but when I got there, there were only buses and no Grab cars. The Grab car that I ordered wouldn't go to that level and was insisting that I go up to the Taxi level. At the taxi level, they said I had to go back to the other level where there was NOBODY. 2. The escalator down to the lower level was broken, and the elevator was slow and chaotic. Tons of people cut in line and it was a long time before the next one showed up. 3. The train connects the two airports but it is not clear to travelers. Need better signage.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely airport - easy to navigate - get your SIM card after you exit - it's cheaper! This airport is very modern with lots of food options and lots of lounges to choose from if you need a place to veg or wait for people you are meeting up with. There is a digi brand SIM card vendor before you exit immigration that accepts USD or Malaysian ringgit but change will be given in ringgit. It is also 25-50% cheaper once you exit immigration and are in the main terminal. Being that it cost $8usd for 3gb of data I was not complaining. My cell phone plan with data is not that cheap at home! For taxi service use Uber or Grab - the latter is a Malaysian company and offers great promos and rewards once you take a couple of rides. Figure out which level you are on when you request your ride - when we exited immigration we thought we were at the right door to be picked up but we were wrong. Drivers here are friendly and will wait for you to figure out how to get to them. It's not like Uber in the states where they leave if you're not there in 3 min or less. Enjoy this clean safe airport and your long ride into the city (50 min)!

Yelp
Terminal 2 or lets call it what it is, the AirAsia airport 5 minutes away from the regular airport (terminal 1). This place is huge, it has a big mall (dont know why, but it does). Plan to do a lot of walking, its that big! There are plenty of fast food options, not much on the healthy side. Unfortunately, some food places think its ok not to accept credit cards - I recognize thats the norm in a lot of countries, but really, a chain restaurant in an airport!?!?... ok I digress, but its pretty annoying! Its basically all airasia here. If you have an electonic boarding pass and no checked luggage - congrats, its an easy experience, you will be at your gate in 20 min tops! If you have to check-in luggage, welcome to AirAsia hell. It says "luggage drop-off" - but it should really say "Redo entire check-in process". After "check-in" you go through immigration and a metal detector - I wont call it security because those metal detectors are there for show. You will have to go through (real) security right before your gate, so allow an extra 5-10 min for that. The airport has a few priority pass lounges after security + a ton of shopping, plenty to keep you busy.
google avatar

Yelp
Coming back to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia was a dream come true! The Airport is very nice and clean! The arrival check out was long! Hopefully they make it shorter! We enjoyed everything!
google avatar

June-Young C.

Yelp
Pretty modern airport. My only gripe for international flights is that there are 2 security check points. They actually punish you for arriving early. I tried to check in my luggage 3 hours before my flight, but the workers wouldn't accept any luggage until 2 hours before. Also the second security checkpoint is at the gate for yoyr flight. Make sure you don't need to use the restroom since you would have to go through security again. Lot of shops and food options.

Yelp
KLIA2 is a new airport terminal that opened last year to replace the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Among the air carriers that have operations here include Malindo Air and the many AirAsia brands (ex. AirAsia, Air Asia X, Thai AirAsia, etc.). This terminal is a couple miles from the rest of KLIA, so you would need take the KLIA Ekspres or a taxi to get here. You can take the KLIA Ekspres directly to KLIA2 from KL Sentral for RM35. The ride only takes 33 minutes. Although this terminal serves low cost carrier passengers, the terminal is not low cost as well. There are many shops and eateries at KLIA2 here which are part of a shopping mall called gateway@klia2. There is even a supermarket called Jaya Grocer here. Typically shops and eateries at the airport are overpriced, but I didn't find that to be the case here. I had a Nyonya meal before my flight here and it was under RM24 (less than $6 US) which is not too bad. There are plenty of eateries of all budgets here from fast food to dine-in establishments in this terminal. Once you do go through the passport control area, the number of shop and food options are significantly smaller. So make sure to get what you need before heading airside. I was headed to Krabi on an AirAsia flight and didn't have much trouble finding the check-in location. Except I did mistake Malindo Air for AirAsia initially due to the similar brand colors. I enjoyed my airport experience at KLIA2. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize this terminal again if I am traveling in Southeast Asia on a low cost carrier.
google avatar

Jasmine Y.

Yelp
This one is smaller than the one from normal KLIA. There are still a good amount of restaurants and stores inside to shop around but I didn't have time to look around due to my flight rush. It still looks very clean and easy to navigate.

S C.

Yelp
Very cool place! They actually have a mall inside the airport with stores that sells clothing, tons of food, etc. They also have a hotel inside the airport and another hotel adjacent to it. There are two terminals, broken up into KLIA (domestic) and KLIA2 (international). The terminals are right next to each other, but can be pretty cumbersome to get to. We were suggested to take the "free shuttle bus" to be transferred because the hotel I booked (which the description said "next to the airport" - walkable) was actually on the domestic terminal, whereas we landed on the international side :( Unfortunately, the quick transfer turned into a new hour ordeal. We had to switch buses and then still walk about 5-7 mins. (Luckily, the hotel showed up with a golf cart, half way there!) The airport itself was VERY clean. Everyone there was extremely polite and helpful. (I had to ask 4 employees + a stranger for help.) Everyone I encountered spoke English, so commination was very clear and easy. The snacks and drinks were very cheap there. I paid $1 Malaysian Ringgit for a bottle of water. (Exchange rate was $1USD to $3.5 Ringgits.) I must say, that despite the ordeal, if you can, book a room if you have a long layover, especially if it's overnight!! I saw tons of people sleeping in the airport, on the floor, etc. I couldn't imagine after an exhausting flight, having to spend the night there. The room was well worth the money!! FYI, they also have certain hotels, you can get by the hours, if you just need to freshen up or for short layover. My only disappointment was, we were hoping to be able to step out and do some sightseeing and grab dinner . . . Don't count on it. I discovered the airport is an hour taxi ride away, so we just ate inside the hotel.

Yelp
So after many arrivals and departures from this airport, I finally took the buggy ride from immigration to the center of the terminal which is the last stop. The last stop is just after the duty free shops and there are several restaurants there. You get local ones like chicken rice restaurants, regional restaurants like toast box and international restaurants like MacDonald and burger king. Watch out for the price, my whopper meal at KLSentral costed me RM 12.50 (yes a steal, you only get the sandwich back home for that price) but it is a whopping RM20 here at the departure hall!!. Getting the meal at KLSentral also means that you get to enjoy it on the train to the airport not wasting your time doing nothing. Behind the restaurants, there is also a kids play area. Overall very well done for a budget terminal.
google avatar

Sylvia K.

Yelp
If you fly Air Asia, you will fly in and out of KLIA2. The international departures terminal is pretty amazing. CONCESSIONS: There are tons of shopping and dining options. Lots of duty free. There is a "urban food court" which has a Burger King, Taste of India, Hot Wok, a noodle place, and the Chicken Rice Shop. The seating area for the food court is massive and spacious and very clean and a great place to sit and eat while waiting for your flight. There's also a McDonalds and a Popeyes on the same floor. There's also an onsite hotel called Sama Sama. You can choose to just pay to use the lounge area. Or you can also choose to get a bed/room if you have an overnight layover. The cheapest was a basic room for something over 200 ringgit for five hours (yes there's a time limit, but you can pay more for longer). There was also a wellness spa where you could pay for a massage or even just a shower. The employees could use a good lesson in customer service though - nearly all the ones I interacted with did not look like they wanted to be there and came across kind of rude. And some of them were hard to understand. WI-FI: it's free and it's pretty good PUBLIC TRANSIT: there's a KLIA express train that links up KLIA1 and KLIA2 with KL Sentral Station in the center. When I used it to get to and from the airport, it was 35 ringgit one way. And there was Wifi on the train. OTHER: there's a movie lounge which I think is pretty awesome. It's free and there are a few chairs and two big TVs playing the same movie. When I was there, they played "let's be cops" and "total recall." It's a great way to pass the time during a long wait or layover. There are a couple of currency exchange places, but make sure to ask what their hours are because they're not open 24 hours. There are also prayer rooms for Muslims. Overall, a pretty great airport!

Yelp
I usually fly through KLIA, so this is my first time at KLIA2. Compared to KLIA, KLIA2 is boring after immigration. So I will suggest to spend more time in the departure/arrival area after checking in. Immigration cleared pretty quickly when I was there but you might still want to have a comfortable buffer in case of long lines. There is nothing much to do after immigration with limited food options. Duty free shopping is similar to those before immigration. The public area before immigration is much better with many choices for food and shops for browsing and last minute shopping. The highlight for this terminal will be the free WIFI throughout. It definitely helps to kill time while waiting for boarding. The connection to KLIA Ekspres is definitely another plus point as it is easy to get to and quick to arrive in downtown KL. Prepaid SIM cards are also readily available at arrival hall and you can also get a taxi easily. Pay for taxi at the counter before getting out into the main public arrival hall area. It is a flat fee and may cost more than meter but it is a bit safer as everyone (you, driver and airport staff) gets the ticket so it is may be easier to track. I usually use this service as my friend lives in the suburbs and not all taxi drivers may know how to get there.

Yelp
The Plaza Premium Lounge in KLIA2 is better than KLIA. Over here, shower and spa facilities are provided. However, the most important factors are the exclusivity & classiness of KLIA2's lounge. It has a wide view of the runway and for plane lovers, it will be an exciting experience watching the planes taking off. Have a look at my photos.

Yelp
Nice big airport , got a lot of store and places to eat, and clean, they also have a free wifi at the airport, you only need to log in without scanning your passport or ID number ... but the only problem is they have no international cellphone plugged at the airport, so you need to buy a malaysian adapter plugs for you to be able to charge your cellphone. Other than that it was good. And you can order grabcar to pick you up in the front to any places you need to go. So far from KLIA2 to Bukit Bintang is about MYR 65+ toll road fee.

Yelp
The replacement terminal for the Low Cost Carrier a Terminal (LCCT) and trust me, this is a lot better. Not the best but it's a more comfortable terminal to hang out at than the previous. Currently, these airlines use this terminal. They are Malindo, Air Asia, Air Asia X, Tiger Air, Lion Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia Zest, Indonesia Air Asia and Thai Air Asia. My first impression of this terminal, I am amazed with the size of it! It's probably 3 times bigger than the old. Lots of shops to check out and a few decent places. There are paid lounges and resting area for you to rest if you are either on transit or prefer to be there early for your red eye flight. I like how the design of the interior is done especially the departure hall. The shophouses structure certainly makes feel at home as it reminds me of the ones back home. The landside is definitely the place to be so and as for the air side, it isn't as exciting. So if you want to grab a bite, do it before entering airside. Getting to the gate can be quite a walk so make sure you plan your time well. If not, the Captain will choose to depart without you! Overall, I find this an improvement over the old one and it's likely I use this terminal along with KLIA, now that the railway train connects both terminals to town, it's so much convenient to get there at a reasonable rate.

Yelp
This was my 4th time taking off at KLIA 2, obviously it has lots of shops and you can do lots of shoppings here. Almost all the low cost airlines are taking off here such as Airasia and Malindo. It is very different compared to the previous LCCT, and you can now take KLIA Express to KLIA 2 beside bus and taxi. There are free shuttle waiting for customers at the elevators which are far from the entrance so you need not to worry if you park your car far. Plus there is a GST claim counter at the right of the departure level so you are advised to go earlier if you want to claim for taxes. One thing to highlight is that the domestic boarding halls are made of 2 separate long bridges, please make sure your gate alphabet, whether it's K or J to ensure you are at the right path so you won't miss the boarding time.

Yelp
Pretty easy airport to navigate yourself through. Like many Asian airports everything is a little congested and inconsistent. We passed through security with shoes and a bottle of water, but in a less secure area, another checkpoint they made us throw the water out and take off shoes and watch. Shopping is fine if you like that kind of stuff. Plenty of restaurants though I usually go to one of the lounges. There is a spot in the international terminal where you can sleep, nice comfy chairs.

Yelp
When you going here from kuala lumpur, make sure to enter the right station, there are 2 stations with dufferent terminals and dufferent flights. So theres difderent if you flying with air asia or like vietnam Airlines. This airport has pretty doll shops, nothing special, and the passportstation were sooooo slow. Thank god there was a toilet right outside!

Yelp
here for an unexpected overnight layover. My flight was delayed, came in around 10pm. This place is pretty big, has all the basics. I wished it has more flat padded long benches for overnight layovers. the chairs here have a random shape that is difficult to lie down and be comfortable. I think the Starbucks and the noodle place next door is 24/7. Food court was closed by around 11pm or so. Shopping closed lae around 11pm as well. A lot of traffic and people. By 3am, there were a lot of people coming through security already.

Yelp
In my opinion this airport which services primarily one airline (AirAsia) is not necessary. Its predecessor, KLIA1, which receives many airlines is underutilised. There is much walking required in KLIA2 as gangways are quite far from the flight counters. Despite the large number of flight counters and lounges, these areas are still crowded, especially around boarding time. KLIA2 houses numerous shops and boutiques making the airport a miniature shopping mall. As with most airports, the prices are usually higher here than in department stores in the country's major cities. Be sure to guard your bags with a watchful eye as pickpockets are waiting to steal from unsuspecting victims. It would be advisable not to carry much luggage in this airport.

Yelp
Modern, classy and huge low cost terminal airport that doesn't look close to low cost. KLIA2 has outdone themselves! They are even more impressive than KLIA i find. If you were to catch a flight here, come early and try not to get too distracted. First of all. It's a distance to get to your gate, and along the way there's tons of food options, shopping and even banks to do your errands. It's really all encompassing. Gone are the days where we would be sitting in a hangar, ie. LCCT. This airport is airy and comfortable. I love that the food choices here are quite localized and the variety will probably give you a headache. There's nyonya colours, kluang station, McDonald's, Wendy's... And so many more.

Yelp
Come early to wait your flight will never get bored at KLIA2 because you can do a lot of shopping. Well, it might be window shopping only, but it helps to to kill your time faster, especially for those who are waiting for transit. There are a lot of restaurants, price no doubt is higher, at least you got the choice to choose what you want right? BTW, the international departure hall is really really far! Food court only available at hall P...

Yelp
I remember the first time I came to this newer airport. It was late at night and when we walked out of the gate, the airport was empty! Luckily, those days are long gone as the airport becomes more popular with all the people flying with Air Asia. Nowadays, there are more signs and directions. This place has plenty of duty free and the check in and immigration/customs are always efficient and quick. Airport looks clean every time I visit and there are plenty of toilets! Yes! Wifi is also relatively easy to get. Not to mention a decent food court after immigration for departures so you won't go hungry. Happy traveller here :)

Yelp
Like many of the other reviewers have said - KLIA 2 is a newer airport terminal open to serve all the budget airlines and replace the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). As the terminal serves the low budget airlines, it is definitely not a low budget terminal! I was pretty amazed at how new, sparkly, and moderately modern it was at first impression. It didn't feel that big where you'd feel overwhelmed and lost. There are a handful of small restaurants where you can grab a bite or drink before you head into security. My tip is to grab something to eat before you head in. Definitely better selection compared to after security. I can't remember what gate we were situated at, but it definitely felt a little more 'low budget' once you enter security. Washrooms were pretty dirty and smelled like piss. The gate area was not climate controlled and felt pretty cold. Luckily we didn't have to wait long to board. I definitely wouldn't mind passing through here again because of the low budget airline carriers.

Yelp
KLIA2 terminal is huge, with a variety of shops and its new they spent rm$4 billion and they even have posters advertising the fact the gates are barely full it is exclusive for air Asia . They blew budget by 2x I was told . As it such a long distance even with escalators going up and down levels that transiting is pain so give yourself plenty of time especially if you getting picked up. The security going in was joke the alarms went off and he wasn't checked or frisked. Apart fro that this is the best airport in Malaysia.

Yelp
Not even a year old and already it has seen better days. I'm going to chalk it up to poor build quality, and what feels like a panache for cutting corners. The engineering is all wrong. The layout is all wrong. The dirty walls and chipping paint is all wrong. At least LCCT had an excuse... it was old and was never designed to handle the throngs of Air Asia passengers. KLIA2, what's your excuse? Malaysia finally had a chance to rival Singapore for a wonderful, innovative and new terminal. This, however, it is not.

Yelp
KLIA 2, the new airport that's got most of the flights from the LCCT moved here is for sure better connected compared to the LCCT. With the limited transportation options to get to the LCCT, KLIA 2 offers the convenience of getting there via the KLIA Express Train too, which helps you to beat through the K.L. traffic, what not to like? There's a lot to shop here as they have the Gateway KLIA 2, which is inter-connected and also part of the airport. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, lounges and shops here. So, for those who are traveling light (or not), you might want to come earlier too just to shop - why not? Haha. Do note about one thing though, the airport lounges here have different access policies, so if you are getting complimentary entries to the lounges in KLIA using some of your credit cards, you might not be able to do the same here. For example, Citibank Credit Cards do not generally get you any complimentary access in any lounge in KLIA 2. So, you might want to make clear of that to avoid disappointments. Also, the KLIA 2 is humongous, and you could easily walk for more than 10 minutes just to get to your departure gate even after the security screening. So, please manage your time wisely! You won't want to be running to board your plane!

Yelp
Way better than the old terminal for Air Asia and other Low Cost Carrier : LCCT. I'm a proud Malaysian. For those who might had the chance traveling via LCCT previously, you'll amazed by how improved KLIA 2 is. KLIA 2 has roof and floored parking, fully surrounded by aircond all the way even to the flight's door. KLIA 2 also best known for its numerous number of famous shops till it is called shopping heaven! I was there for my last flight to Penang, it is quite big I even forgot how many levels were there, probably more than 4. Lols. Makan place? Not a problem here, you can basically locate it at any floor or you can use the directory board to know what stores are there. The best thing here is the aircond alley even up to the flight's door, which I find very convenient for all. The alley is quite big too and suitable for disables with wheel chair. KLIA 2 is a better invention of Malaysia's airport.

Yelp
For those of you who have been to the old Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT), this is a big step up in terms of infrastructure. The shopping mall before checking in is fantastic. The wide selection rivals many big mall in KL. The shops after checking in, however, were a little lacking. There were still many empty under utilised spaces scattered around the needlessly long walk to the boarding gates. For the first timers here, there's two rounds of baggage scans so make sure you leave plenty of time to walk (15min fast paced) and queue up at the checkpoints. Overall, whilst the post check in space is not as great as its big brother KLIA terminal, it's wide array of shops outside the customs area make up for its shortcomings.

Yelp
I had a couple hour layover here and I couldn't even use the restroom because the airport seemed kind of dirty and unwelcoming. Their toilets are the kinds that are a hole on the ground and coming from the states, I just couldn't get myself to use them, especially with all my luggage and bags. I'm glad the layover wasn't too long and that they had wifi to kill the time.

Yelp
This is my first time being in KLIA2, and no kidding when they say this place is huge. Because mostly of the walking haha. Reason I'm here because I'm leaving to Melbourne! Exciting! Now about KLIA2, yes it is alot of walking to do to the boarding gate. But not so much ler, about almost 1 km or less. If you have booked a boarding pass, the process to check in is pretty quick. I like the how fast they work on checking your documents and using the auto- gate is super helpful. Before checking in, you can actually relax at few cafes here like Hainan coffee, the loaf or many other food places in here. I like the design in this place, probably why it took so long to finish building this. Now I'm at the departure hall 2 hours before boarding time. There's another McDonald with McCafe (that's the important thing), Popeyes, Wok, the Bar, many more to relax first before boarding. No worries, there's toilets out here too at the departure area. I can understand some people can get nervous and their bowels act up at the last minute, happened to me last time and it was disaster at LCCT. Pretty cool place, I should travel more often! Haha

Yelp
Damn this airport is further away than the first KLIA, i came here for the first time to fly to Penang and i heard so many things about this airport - SHOPPING! but i dont see any nice brands to shop? This airport is so huge, lack of signage and i was lost to check in my baggage until i needed to ask directory. This place is separated into 2 buildings, the one inside is the place where you check in and the one outside is for you to walk around and capsule hotel is there too. Please wear jacket when you are here because the airport feels like it is negative! ( Over exaggerating) but it is cold. The longest walk i have to walk from taking my baggage to the main entrance and again i was confused whether it was straight or right. So new yet so confusing but good service, on time and many things to see and buy.

Yelp
KLIA 2 is the pinnacle of airport design in Malaysia, because it took literally more than four years or more for this place to be completed. For what it's worth, the dream i true. The wait itself is all but forgotten, because the place itself is now a shopping haven for any humans who plans to venture in or out of the country. The place itself is now dotted with many franchises, from doughnuts to handbag stores, all essential for your need to show off or the lifelong avoidance of practicality. The place itself exudes more of a shopping mall aura to it than an airport, possibly because everything here looks extremely new. That being said, the place itself is a tourist spot itself, and should serve your needs for alcohol and other stuff that could push yourself slightly higher than certain humans. Ah well,

Yelp
KLIA 2 is a new airport to substitute the old one called LCCT which main for Malaysia's budget airline - AirAsia. I still remember I almost missed my first flight in KLIA 2 because it's too big and I had lost my direction. You probably need to arrive here more than an hour earlier even though you have done the check-in via online. The distance from the custom check-in to on-boarding waiting room can be very long compared to LCCT. Meanwhile, I feel KLIA 2 is so much better. More restaurants and cafe, you can even do your grocery shopping here. The concept is similar to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. Where you can dine and shopping while waiting to depart or picking up your friends and family. It's also very convenient, more car parks and public transportation like train and cabs also available.

Yelp
Probably the 6th time I'm here to send my mom off but this time I decided to hang out there. Trust me klia2 is nothing like klia. You can get lost actually and what's more intriguing than that is that the choices of food places and shopping stores! I remembered seeing Nandos, a huge McD, probably 2 starbucks if im not mistaken and just wow! It is crowded 24/7 cause I was there about 7-8 hours with my friends and my mom. After sending her off we explored the place. Back then, when I was travelling with my parents, after immigration there are so many more stores inside. Bigger, better and more bad-ass than klia! If you guys havent been to this millions project based airport, you guys are missing out on life. Enjoy the place while watching planes flying high

Yelp
SHOPPING WONDERLAND! Hahah... I usually dislike sending people off at the airport because it's such a long drive and the airports are just so boring. This place brought a change to that! I was rather against the initial concept of a shopping mall like airport, but now that it's done, I absolutely adore it. Clothes, bookstore, coffee place to chill, KLIA 2 practically have everything a mall has.I love sending off my siblings now that we can have a chill out session at Dome or any other outlets you prefer. The amenities of KLIA 2 is very complete as well. They have banks, currency converters, pharmacy, telco stores and also travel supplies outlets if you missed out anything. I have to say though there are some spots that could use some enhancement. Carpark routes are not so well thought of. I remembered there are no proper walking path for pedestrians and it can be pretty dangerous because we had to jay walk. Due to the occasional group of foreign labour workers coming into Malaysia, the immigration officers have to give a proper check on their identification cards so permits. That's understandable, however the whole group are made to sit in a hall that all guest arrivals will pass by and this will definitely startle them. Minor details like this should be more duly noted.

Yelp
Definitely the worse airport in Asia. One walks over a mile to get to departure gates or upon arrival, to passport control. And when at passport control, one might wait 60 to 70 minutes to clear. Avoid KLIA2 at all costs. Let us be clear: Kuala Lumpur has one of the best and absolutely the worst airports in Asia.

Yelp
This airport will not get you bored while waiting to board. Lot of shoppes around. However, I realized that all of the waitress at the restaurants are dang slow. Slow motions....maybe it is in the early morning (8am)?
