8 reasons to visit one of Bali’s best-kept secrets - SilverKris

"A recently opened resort in the foothills of Mount Agung offering dreamy views over tranquil rice paddies and distant hills. The property has 18 rooms and villas—ranging from bamboo constructions with alang-alang thatched roofs to modern flat-roof villas with private pools, full kitchens and quality Balinese fittings. Facilities include two infinity pools, a jacuzzi, private sitting areas, an all-day restaurant and a lounge serving complimentary afternoon tea; the Samudra villa, set furthest into the grounds, is recommended for privacy and sweeping terrace views." - Penny Watson

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The place has such an amazing atmosphere - everywhere you look it’s beautiful and green. The staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The resort is very spacious and offers every facility you could wish for: several pools with stunning views, a spa, a gym, a great restaurant and even a lovely coffee spot.||Our room was also beautiful, clean and well-maintained. We truly couldn’t have asked for more. We will definitely be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Samanvaya. The location is stunning, with gorgeous views over the rice fields that you can enjoy from many spots around the property. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming.||A couple of small points could make the experience even better. Our double bed was too small, and the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. Also, in the restaurant, some tables are set apart from the main area and unfortunately don’t have a view – which is a pity, because the scenery here is so beautiful.||Overall, we liked it a lot and would happily recommend it, especially for the serene setting and lovely staff.

Saw it reviewed on YouTube, so thought I’d check it out for myself. First up, you gotta have a car because it’s in the middle of nowhere and apart from one small waterfall, there’s not a whole lot in this area, but it’s great as a 5 star base for day trippin to Besakih temple and Kintamani to overlook Mt. Badung volcano. Hotel is green, lush foliage everywhere, exquisitely designed and idyllic, set up the side of a small valley, the superior rooms look out across coconut trees and rice paddies, it’s a lovely view. As you would imagine it’s very quiet, but the hotel got you covered as outside every room is a water feature that covers any music or other noises coming from the room. It is adult only and this shows in the design. The infinity pools are great, the restaurant is a little limited but fine for short stays. Food quality is good to very good, important as Grab is an hour delivery in all directions. Staff are all locals from the village which is a nice touch - the hotel goes to some length to explain its ‘sustainable tourism’ pov in this regard. Rooms are superb, wood, rattan, carvings, all have decks with views. WiFi a little weak where we were, but hotel immediately delivered a 5G portable hotspot dongle which solved that minor issue. Otherwise the room was spacious, 2 daily housekeeping visits, one in the morning to clean, the other (6pm) to arrange the mosquito net around the bed. Really first class service.Ok it’s a bit pricey for Bali, but if you want a small resort with views as a good inland location for exploring, Samanvaya does it very well. Recommended.

Discreetly tucked into the peaceful Sideman Valley, the Semanvaya luxury resort provides a haven for visitors seeking ultimate relaxation within a stylish setting. Whoever is behind this resort, fully understands the meaning of eco tourism which becomes immediately evident as you're led through this dreamy resort to rooms built primarily from local materials. The amphitheatre style layout provides uninterrupted views across rice paddies and rolling landscape showing the ocean in the distance on clear days. Unfortunately, due to the time of year we hit some bad weather although a thunderstorm or two of biblical proportion is a unique experience in itself! All rooms are beautifully crafted and you will be offered an upgrade upon arrival which I'm very pleased about as when I saw the spectacular Batari 2-storey villa complete with hot tub I could not resist and my stay was made. Unfortunately, I became unwell on the second day but with staff caring for me around the clock with delicious treats, I was back on my feet the next day. The staff here are exceptional and genuine, without aiming to over please, if see what I mean. They are mostly local people who appear to love their jobs with a sense of pride and who seem more than happy to engage in a conversation. They are lovely. The food at this resort is exceptional offering a comprehensive range of traditional and international dishes set within a multi-levelled restaurant with some seats boasting panaromic views across the valley. I chose this resort as I wanted something off the beaten track that delivered a combination of luxury mixed with local vibes and Semanvaya Resort did not disappoint. My only regret is not having the time (and weather) to explore the local area although that will be on the menu for my next visit. Terima kasih.

I chose Samanvaya because I wanted to be out in the Bali countryside, and also because it is Adults Only. The grounds are absolutely stunning ~ just as in the pictures you see. Very lush and green (especially after we had 3 days of rain (: and full of gorgeous flowers and subtle statues. Every public place is designed to be relaxing and calm. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating that is very private. We loved sitting outdoors under the lights enjoying a great dinner. It was so nice to have 'happy hour' cocktails and chat with the amazing staff. We got a chance to really chat with one young woman quite a bit over the days ~ she was funny and so kind.||They are finishing building some new villas, and the gym is part of that. While it was finished, it smelled quite strongly of new build (we left the door open) and for such a large space it really isn't equipped very well. Could definitely use more machines.|While we truly loved so many aspects of our stay, unfortunately the room we had was not one of them - the Kenyeri villa. We had issues right from the get go. Maybe it was because of the incessant rain, but we had water dripping in the closet that maintenance could never find the cause of. We had to leave our clothes in our luggage (another issue - no luggage racks) for at least a day to make sure everything didn't get soaked. The other big two issues were the lighting (or lack of) in the room-we had to use a torch at night to see our items, and the bathroom. |Where to start about the bathroom. First, it's all outdoors (covered, but open)- you must keep the door to the bedroom closed at all times otherwise you might get a creature (we had a mouse) and mosquitoes wander into your room. Also, nothing stays dry - we tried to wash & hang some clothes and our towels to dry/air out and they stayed damp for 4 days. I know the bathroom looks cool, but it is not the most functional - plus the two little steps down into the bathroom are a safety nightmare at night.||Overall, we loved our stay, and would highly recommend Samanvaya, just not the room we had.

Hands down one of the nicest, well-thought out places l've ever stayed in Bali. The attention to detail is absolutely insane. The staff is incredible and the food is all incredibly delicious. Highly recommend getting a massage at their spa. The atmosphere curated at Samanvaya is so peaceful, I never wanted to leave. The staff is amazing & makes you feel like you’re at home. You'll see beautiful views of the rice fields from every angle of the property. We stayed at their new villa with wellness pools and would 100% recommend to everyone! This place is truly magic.

They’ve just opened new villas overlooking the stunning rice fields of Sidemen, and each one comes with its own private pool! On top of that, the resort already has two amazing infinity pools with breathtaking views that make it the perfect place to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful, and the food at the restaurant… just wow. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

Incredible! What a wonderfully special hotel, in a stunning location. An exceptionally high standard of hospitality and service, friendly attentive staff and outstanding cuisine set in the most beautiful natural surroundings made this hotel the perfect retreat for relaxation and tranquility. The spa and two infinity pools overlooking rice fields are perfect for unwinding after exploring Sideman. The staff and ethos of the hotel make this a very special place to stay.
