Sama's Cottages

Such a pretty place to stay. Nice size pool not too big or small and deep! Rooms were quaint, clean and comfy. Bathroom is amazing so big and modern with big windows where no-once can see in as there is so much greenery. Loved there was no TV. Staff were lovely and helpful all the time. Very quiet right in the busy part of Ubud. Breakfast was lovely and fresh made to order. Would stay again for sure.

The staff here are so kind. I stayed as a solo female traveller and felt very safe here. My cottage was close to the reception where there is always a staff member present. All the staff remembered my name so it was very personable. The room is lovely and bathroom is very big and modern, it looked newly refurbished. There can be insects in your room such as mosquitoes, but this is common in Bali. Every night they have mosquitoe coils outside each room, and there is also mosquitoe net. They gave generous complimentary drinks in the fridge such as Coke and Sprite. In the morning I liked when they brought breakfast to your cottage as it’s very relaxing and peaceful. The food is really good. The location is pretty good you are right in the centre, but also very quiet and serene. I loved the pool it was very clean and always quiet. I stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed my stay. When I come back to Ubud I will probably be booking here again and won’t stay anywhere else.

I have stayed at Samas many times and always feel welcomed by the staff..The rooms are pristine, the gardens are beautiful and it is very quiet at night..Lots of restaurants close by and easy to walk to rice fields..Breakfast options are great and cater to Vegetarians as well.

Cute two cats roaming in the property! Excellent location as it is in the heart of Ubud centre so it is walkable to all key attractions there. Yet it is very quiet and you can see stars at night too!!!! Staff were all polite and friendly. Despite the villa outdoor style there were lesser insects than I expected. Although the room will tend to get humid after sometime so it is best to ventilate it and let the moisture out when possible.

We enjoyed our stay at Samas cottages Ubud. It's located in jl Bisma. With lots of good restaurants warungs cafes all in walking distance. We had a villa, which was spacious and well decorated and maintained. Air conditioned and very clean 👌 The grounds are beautiful, with lots of pretty gardens, a fishpond and lovely clean refreshing swimming pool,which was mainly just us using it.😀 Staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially when we needed a room at short notice,due to my error in bookings. We didn't have the breakfast option, but what we could see was very good. Only one thing I missed was a fan in the room,instead of using air conditioning. That's not a big deal though. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay.

Returned so many times as staff are so very friendly and the cottages very comfortable. It is such a peaceful garden setting yet is a leisurely amble away to some of the best Ubud gardens, barista coffee /cakes and both Balinese (yum) and euro trad dishes. Pool is delightful and traditional massage are available.Accomodation and hospitality are genuine Balinese best. 5/5 !! 🙏🌴

We had a wonderful stay at Sama's Cottages and Villas. The 3 bedroom Villa with a private pool was perfect for our group of 3 adults and 2 children! The location was amazing and walking distance to the main street as well as the monkey park. The only regret I have is that we did not stay longer in Ubud! |The Villa was so comfortable and spacious. Our booking included Breakfast that was bought to us every morning at a time we chose and was absolutely delicious! I didnt book because of this but it was a huge added bonus.|There is live music most nights at a nearby restaurant, which we were informed of not long after we booked the accommodation, this was my only concern (especially with kids) but it did not impact any part of our stay. While we could hear the music, we actually sat outside and enjoyed it most nights. On the nights when we were too tired to stay up and enjoy the music we fell straight asleep and didnt even notice it. |Thank you for such an amazing stay, we will book again next time we are back.

Booked breakfast included, turns out the included breakfast isn’t gluten-free and yup, you’ve guessed it, if you want a gluten-free brekkie you’ve gotta pay for it from their restaurant. Oh but they will give you a 10% discount ! Way to go to accommodate coeliac guests. So for those of you out there that want a GF breakfast, book room only and avoid this coeliac (not so) friendly rip off. Tried to sort this out with the staff when we checked in, they didn’t seem to care and certainly didn’t want to sort it out. Not a great start and not really liking this place right now. Which is such a shame coz I wanted to love this little coeliac friendly abode in Ubud. Oh well, hopefully this review will help other coeliac travellers out there to understand what included breakfast means.
