Booked through Airbnb and stayed in Dec last year. This is a beautiful villa in pictures, but unfortunately, I can’t help but agree with some of the bad points brought forth by one of the reviews. We travelled far and wide for 3 hours through the mountains from Ubud to get here thinking that we could finally enjoy some peace and tranquility, but was rudely shocked by loud karaoke music from one of the neighboring houses till midnight almost every night. This was coupled by roosters crowing from 3am in the morning and the lack of proper curtains or blinds from sunlight after sunrise at 5am. I averaged about 3 hours of sleep every night and was going crazy by the third day. Good luck trying to catch a nap in the day too as there’s construction of a separate building merely inches away from the villa, which meant endless construction noise in the day too. The owner was also extremely unapologetic in our conversations, attributing the loud music to ‘local culture’ and basically telling me that there’s nothing that can be done about it. If there’s really nothing that can be done, please add a disclaimer on the booking page so that expectations can be managed. Also, there is close to zero privacy with the gardener and housekeeper and other personnel coming in and out of the villa as and when they wish, coupled with people working in the fields at the front and people walking on the beach outside. You will feel more like you are crashing some villager’s house, rather than actually having a place to yourself to enjoy.
