Samrat Restaurant in Churchgate is a true delight for anyone who appreciates authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine. The place exudes an elegant, old-school charm with a peaceful ambiance, making it ideal for both family get-togethers and formal meetings. The star attraction is the Gujarati thali — beautifully arranged and generously portioned with farsan, vegetables, dal, kadhi, puris, rotis, rice, and a sweet dish. Every item is fresh, full of flavor, and brings the comfort of home-cooked food. The staff is warm and attentive, always ensuring your plate is full and your experience is pleasant. Beyond the thali, their Punjabi dishes are just as impressive. We tried the Veg Kolhapuri, Chana Palak, and Chole Bhature — all packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The garlic naan was soft, perfectly cooked, and complemented the curries beautifully. The entire restaurant is spotless and very well-maintained. Despite the crowd during peak hours, the service is smooth, quick, and efficient. The staff deserves a special mention for their excellent hospitality — friendly, prompt, and professional. A special shout-out to Chef Raju More, whose passion for cooking truly reflects in every dish. His culinary skills add that special touch, making each meal feel crafted with love. Whether you’re a Mumbaikar or just visiting South Mumbai, Samrat Restaurant is a must-visit spot for a hearty, satisfying, and authentic vegetarian dining experience.

I went for lunch on 9th 2025 and ordered Gujarati thali, It cost me around 500 Rs/Person.In that we get everything unlimited but everything except sweets. The food was good and it was a good veg restaurant in the area so we went there. The staff was very nice and talked to me nicely. According to the price, sweets should also be provided unlimited. The price is also high in many items, compared to other restaurants. But all the items were tasty and are accepted by both payment card and cash. My experience was good, you can also visit.

This place is really good, one of the older restaurants of Mumbai. Vast menu. Must try their Thaali. A bit expensive but worth it. Go early if you don't want to wait for a table. Plenty of parking outside. The service was quick and good. Food was yummy and served fresh. Nice small bakery outside where you get all kind of snacks, cakes, cookies, etc. Super experience going here.

Samrat Restaurant in Churchgate is a wonderful haven for lovers of authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine. With its elegant, timeless décor and calm atmosphere, it’s perfect for both family gatherings and business meetings. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the Gujarati thali — thoughtfully presented and generously served with an array of ghughra, dhokla, paneer sabzi, aloo matar, turiya patra, dal, kadhi, puris, rotis, rice, and gulab jamun. Each component is freshly prepared, rich in flavor, and evokes the warmth of a home-cooked meal. The service is exceptional, with courteous staff who ensure your plate stays full and your dining experience remains enjoyable. In addition to the thali, their Italian offerings are surprisingly delightful. We had the veg cannelloni and garlic bread — both bursting with flavor. The garlic bread was soft and perfectly baked, making a great pairing with the savory cannelloni.

Over costly. Food is normal food...nothing special. Staff is very friendly. They ask you if you eat less. I would choose other thali restaurants like Maharaja bhog etc due to better price. We had one thali and one amras poori. Amras poori was very tasty.
