Sam's Burgers has stood on this spot for more than 40 years. Though the ownership has changed multiple times, the current owner acts like he's been there since day one. In three years, Royce has turned this burger stand into a stop for international cuisine. Sam's has everything from breakfast burritos and burgers, to Korean BBQ, Shrimp Chow Mein, Salmon Steaks, Carne Asada Tacos, Philly cheesesteaks, French Toast, Omelettes and Chicken Wings. Usually I'm a bit wary of that many offerings on one menu, but if any place could pull it off, Sam's could. And if it's not on the menu, I bet Royce will make it for you!
There is a lot here to try but on my first outing, I went with the namesake (burger) and tried a Chili-Cheeseburger. It was pretty darn good, made just the way I like it (with pickles, tomato and mustard). chili was nice and the patty was perfectly cooked. No complaints at all. I also tried the Breakfast Fitness Burrito - Turkey Bacon, Turkey Sausage, Spinach, eggs and Hash browns. It is supposed to be served in a spinach wrap but they were out of spinach tortillas (that's ok). Overall it was a good meal and an enjoyable experience. Royce is a character and a nice guy who is working overtime to stay afloat. I will be back to sample the 'International fare'. Sam's is open for breakfast and lunch, and you could eat their everyday for a month without having the same thing twice. Give'm a shot! I'm a fan of Sam's!
