Never again! We have had a membership through Sam's Club for years but it's gone downhill in the last year and we are done! We went in today for 5 things and we weren't able to get 3 of those items. That's fine normally but.... a Sam's employee ran into my husband, people were rude and getting into other people's space, the employees were in the way in the aisles while putting bottled water away, and the checkout process was ridiculous!
We went to the self checkout because the two normal checkout lanes were 4-5 people long. At the self checkout though, we wanted to split our check to two cards. Well, there's no capabilities for that at the self checkout so we suspended the sale to go checkout at the normal lane. When we got in the lane there for 2 people ahead of us. I went to change my daughter in the restroom and after coming back to the lane 5 minutes later, my husband had not moved one inch. There were two employees on this lane, too. Apparently while in the restroom, my husband said the manager picked two people behind him to checkout in a closed lane with her (and they had the same amount of items!) Finally we decided to just checkout in the self checkout and figure out the finances later. The manager took us to the lane and tried to scan our suspended order receipt but it didn't work so we had to ReScan! Ugh. When we got out of the line to get out of the store was crazy long because the guy at the door was checking all the receipts. At this point the manager just told him to let everyone out without looking at the receipts. We forgot ours, of course, because of the frustration we felt, and he just let us through anyway saying, "you don't need one apparently... I don't know, I just work here." Wow! Just.... wow. We are now researching the Costco memberships.
