Sam's Club

Our daughter started shopping here and had a decent experience. We decided to pay for the membership and make the drive from Elk River. Our experience with three visits has been fine. We shop weekday mornings so the crowds are not bad and average customer service. Also no lines at checkout if you use the app. Super easy! The food cafe does have good pizza at a low price. We were fine shopping here until our recent experience. We really needed milk but they were sold out. What decent warehouse or grocery store does not have a staple food such as milk. Hence, the reason for my three star rating.

Great meat selection and super fast checkout—hard to beat! The mobile app with self-checkout is a game-changer. It’s the main reason I shop here. It saves a ton of time and makes the whole experience more efficient. One standout feature of this location is the meat department. Compared to other warehouse stores, Sam’s seems to offer more variety. I especially like picking up beef cheeks to make barbacoa, something I rarely find elsewhere. Parking is easy, and the store rarely feels overcrowded, which makes each trip even more convenient.

Curbside is a good option but they make a lot mistakes i received my order with broken eggs, rotten grapes and missing my members mark kitchen garbage bags a product that I paid for.

This store can get very busy on the weekends. This includes the food court. Wish they would hire more staff to assist with the amount of customers at this store.

I have a Costco membership and we thought we'd stop by the Maple Grove Sam's and see what the difference was. Well, the Sam's definitely has more snacks /snack Aisles, less congestion of parking, less shoppers on a Wednesday afternoon (heavenly!). We didn't stop to get a day pass because we didn't find anything we actually NEEDED. And we were prepared to just pay an extra 10%,because that's what we'd heard. Sure, plenty of things we wanted. But wow, reading the reviews after we went, but before I write this review, lots of sad things to hear. Not sure we'd want to become members... I know there's always a deal going on for membership, like $40/year, get $20 gift card free, so I'll look into that. Enjoy these 50 pictures!

I was so grateful Sierra supported me in regard to bakery Section here at Sam's in Maplegrove, when it comes to ordering cakes and cupcakes. I was struggling big time. I am not that creative she took her time and gave me suggestions very patiently one by one. I got to the cashier lane and Tari she had an lovely personality too. It is really hard to find young decent human being for support they don't want to help or act like they too busy to do so. Customer Services, just aint customer services no more. I am so grateful I connected with them both. P.s give them an extra incentive. They did not ask for it. I did for them . They gave QUALITY service.. I cant wait to get my cake!!! You go Ladies.. ;*) Thank you

0 stars would be more appropriate. I guess corporate does the scheduling for appointments for the tire center. Went in for a 3 o clock appointment but the guy had no idea how long it would take and that they were 2 hrs behind. Great job Sam’s looks like discount tire it is!

I went here on (4/28/23) First time at a Sam's club I took advantage of the one day birthday membership went from $50 to $10 year membership for sam's club 40 years! it's simliar to Costco. I like costco better but its nice..! Has a service meat counter..

Sam's has gone from bad to worst for customer service. The self checkout is disgusting. If you make an error checking out you have to get a refund rather than a correction that takes 7-10 days to receive a refund. This is ridiculous!!! When my club membership expires I will not be renewing.

I have auto renewal & my account was setup with a promotion at my work. Our work program changed & no longer allowed the auto renewal. Instead of Sam's Club contacting me, they found my mom's credit card since she purchased items before and auto charged her the membership. Horrible, unprofessional service to have. The rep claim it's their standard practice.

A lack of store leadership and incompetent employees doesn't make for a good store. Very disorganized.

I have been a member of Sam's Club in Maple Grove for over 10 years. I have done business with the optical department more or less continuously during this period of time. I have nothing but respect for the optometrist and feel the manager of the optical department is competent and customer-friendly. However, that department seems to be employing incompetent and rude assistant help. In particular, Paulette is probably the most rude, unpleasant individual I have encountered in many years. One does not like to be greeted when bringing in a prescription with "well, whaddya got, a prescription or something?" I ordered new lenses for my older frames. After the order but before I have received the lenses, the older frames developed a crack. I went into the club to see if something could be done. I can't believe that there aren't frames that would fit the lenses. However, Paulette told me there was "nothing to be done, the order is at the lab." I said I had a cracked temple. She shrugged and said the same thing again. I then asked if they sold replacement temples. She looked at me and rudely said, "What's a temple?" If a person selling glasses can't tell what a "temple" is, that person shouldn't be selling glasses. This is not the first encounter I've had with this person. She always acts like SHE is doing YOU a favor by waiting on you and is unfailingly rude and condescending. I complained to the manager on duty, but he was an assistant, so I intend to follow up with the club manager. At a minimum, this woman needs more training. At a maximum, if her record contains similar complaints, she should be fired. If I don't get satisfaction from the club manager on this, I will go higher to his boss. I am sick of this type of treatment, and will NOT let this die. I am NOT going to "go away!"

I hate to admit it, but we are frequent Sam's Club shoppers. I have a family to feed, I need to buy bulk products, and I want to save my money. Here's why I'm reviewing them now. THEY HAVE DRIVE UP ORDER PICKUP! In the time of Covid-19, having this option puts them heads and shoulders above other big box retailers (I think you know who I mean). Even before the pandemic, the convenience of self-scan via their app on my phone was a game changer. Not having to wait in long lines to buy items makes me thankful every time I shop there. And now? Sitting in my car for my big container of strawberries, my huge pack of toilet paper, and multiple tubes of toothpaste to be kindly placed in my trunk- priceless.

We got a free membership, which is the ONLY reason we persevered through the ridiculously long line at customer service to sign up. When we prices compared to Target, other other retailers, we could not find savings on nearly any items. But then we thought "at least there's cheap gas". Well think again- is it worth waiting in huge lines to get gas at $2.93(vs $3.19 nearby - and half the pumps are generally out of service, making lines even longer! Avoid Sam's club- membership definitely not worth it and gas savings not worth wasting time in line(plus potentially losing $ if you leave your car running while you wait).

I have been a member of Sam's Club since 1999. I'm trying to reach their customer service number, called several times, they do not answer the phone! If you need Sam's Club help, you better drive to the store to get it. Bad, bad service!!!!

I love this Sam's Club... the St. Louis Park location was my favorite and sad it's closed. Self checkout is amazing!!! I really really hate the parking lot being under construction! Please hurry. Also, do we really need to have our card out to enter?!? We have a lot of favorite items that we always get and they always seem to have inventory. The large block of feta (yum!), the bagged salads, the larger packs of turkey burgers. But... some of the product isn't always the freshest and you have to dig to find salad that isn't old. The sushi is great for convenience store sushi too. Thanks for a great store but currently meh parking lot. :)

Long time customer , but had always have my doubts about the health standards of Sam's club , and once again this just confirm why not to buy food products from Sam's clubs, from meats to fruits to veggie Today is 1/30/2018 These two are 2-3 days over the due date and are turning color And these are over due , yet they're stilling there waiting for a unsuspecting customer to buy it and probably get food poisoning

Love Sam club if you can't find it anywhere, you can find it at same club, and the prices are still great.

Worst Sam's club ever they were out of mustard at the food place and I ordered a pop and they were out of all the flavors of pop besides Mountain Dew and dr pepper everything else had out of order on it or was water so I was stuck with no pop and no refund. Whom ever is in charge of ordering for the food place should be fired it's not that hard to order syrup and mustard packets.

I've been shopping at Sam's now for about three years after 10 years at Costco I thought I'd give Sams a try! Just renewed my plus membership for another year it more than pays for it self the money I get back! Since I started going there they've change the store around quite a bit and made it more user-friendly! Great bakery and wonderful meat market area! Rotisserie chicken's, fresh fruits and vegetables area! Everything clean and well organized! At check outfriendly and courteous staff! Some of the drawbacks are the parking lot is horrible and should be repaved and striped properly! The gas station area is joke Orange cones set up everywhere and you don't know where to go? Good

The staff at the Sam's Club in Maple Grove are harder to track down than the ones at the Sam's Club in Saint Cloud, but they are still very friendly. One major downside is how busy the Maple Grove store is; it's hard to get around when everybody is rushing about to get their items and I often feel like I just can't wait to get out of the store! However, compared with Costco (I've shopped at ones in Goleta, CA and Maple Grove, MN), the experience is still amazing; Costco has next to no staff, those you can find are very inattentive and nobody wants to help you whatsoever. A good example of this is the returns process at Sam's Club versus the one at Costco. It's true that Costco has a very generous return policy, but at the Costco in Maple Grove, the service representative at the counter tried to shame me for returning things by saying, "you know, you're just being wasteful; we're going to throw all of this away." At Sam's Club, they've always taken returns I bring, no questions asked. Of particular interest to the Saint Cloud Sam's Club are the sodas; there is far more variety compared with the Saint Cloud Sam's Club! One deficit is that they don't stock the Country Hearth products that I can get at the Saint Cloud Sam's Club, but you can't have everything you want at one location, after all. They often have amazing sales, with mark-downs that make already-low-prices even lower, saving somebody like me (who has a very tight budget) quite a bit of money. Sam's Club is part of Walmart's corporate machine, which is well-known for being sleazy. However, unlike Costco, they don't go out of their way to hide it. While Costco may pay their employees $15 an hour, they have the same garbage practices that Sam's Club and Walmart do in other ways; when Sam's Club and Walmart built their new stores in Saint Cloud, they tore down an eagle preservation site. And when Costco built their new store, they tore down Heritage Park, which also acted as a preservation site. I'd rather shop with the corporation that doesn't pretend that its excrement doesn't stink, thank you very much.

We stop in from time to time but usually use our membership for fuel discounts. We always find that the store is clean, staff is friendly and today there were no lines at check out, which we can likely thank the scan and pay app for. Today we were stocking up in preparation for my son's 4th birthday party. We had gone to the bakery to pick out a cake and while we were going back and forth deciding, someone had picked up the cake we wanted. While talking to the bakery staff about the message on another cake we settled on, one of the decorators overheard us discussing our options and jumped into the conversation. She had a cake in the back that she could remove a message from and add a themed image to, making it perfectly match our party theme. She mentioned she previously worked at a Disney park, and I could tell her Disney magic training has stuck with her! Our son went from sad and pouting about not getting the cake he had wanted, to super excited about this one. The wait was less than 10 minutes (maybe even less than 5 minutes), and SO WORTH IT!! Made our day and I'm sure that's a customer service story we will be telling for a while!

I waited 1 hour for Andy to show up to help us with a problem.. tried calling 3 times before i went into store.. .. waited 30+ minutes per call .. went into store to wait my hour ..Never came .. this store is going to hell in a Hand basket !!

Do not buy tires at Maple Grove or St. Cloud Sam's. Costly damage to vehicle. Between the two locations damaged my rocker panel, scratched all my rims, took 4 times to balance tires correct, weights literally fell off rims, hammered on a rim to get the TPMS sensor out, stripped and lug nut. Manager never called back. People in tire department were very nice at both locations. Will never buy tires from you again.

I can't believe how many cashiers are standing at the register on their cells phones playing. It's hard to tell if they are available to ring up my order, or do it myself. Since this is their job, I choose to have him ring up my stuff. No hello, how are you? Thank you & good bye. I could have got better service at the self serve. Why do you need cashiers? Here's a thought... If they have enough time to play on their phones, maybe they can help customers when they are trying to locate items? Bringing in carts, since they were all Over the parking lot?

Terrible experience with this Sam's club in particular (Maple Grove). I was at the WBL Sam's Club trying to buy a new iPhone but they did not have it in stock. We called Eagan and they didn't have it in stock, then we tried MG. The Sam's Club person waited on hold for 10 mins for the Mobility dept, then I called and after I waited for 5 mins I hug up and called the main line and was told the mobility dept was extremely busy and then waited on hold another 20 mins. In this time the WBL Sam's Club staff member was hung up on and called to speak with the store manager. The store manager was with a member and unavailable (understandably) but she learned NO ONE was in Mobility and that NO ONE could take 3 minutes to see if a phone was physically there. So MG Sam's Club completely wasted 35 mins+ of my day. How is Mobility "Extremely busy" when no one is working it!

This store does not keep proper stock of high demand items. They allow elite members in at 7AM on Saturdays. By the time normal member can come in, their high demand products are out of stock. Very slow staff, as well. I will not be returning. Go to Costco if you want bulk items.

Boy, love shopping at this place, but their customer service desk is extremely slow. At EVERYTHING.

Rude staff I had a terrible experience today with the cashier and manager, as well. I don't have a membership but had a guest pass, and they did not let me shop there.

Went into Sam's club ready to checkout unpacked our food as soon as we got done the cashier said they are closed. It of been nice to let me know before not after I was done unloading my cart. They didn't even apologize.Also one of the ladies keep on asking us to upgrade our membership we said no a lot of times the lady won't leave us alone. We see no point of upgrade. If this lady bothers us one more time I am going to get a manager. No means No.

One of the better Sam's Club locations. Have bought tires and TV's here a few times. A bit of a long drive from where I live.

Like any other sams I guess. But they almost never have carts ready at the door so grab one of you see it out in the parking lot.

Love Sams Club only due to proximity from my residence... But I absolutely hate their Customer Service for Returns... There would be 1 lone person trying to do the job of 3 people and the lines would always be long and tiring... On the flip side I've see how fast Costco works on Returns and they clearly have it down to the Tee

This Sam's Club is great, super clean and never busy really, even on the weekends in my experience, depends on the hours you arrive of course. The staff are friendly and fast in their service. There is a mini food court so you can always grab a quick bite if you get hungry while shopping (pizza, hot dogs, etc.). Some Saturdays you'll be able to try some free samples and get the chance to see if you like the products. There is lots of parking, they have their own lot. They have their own fresh flowers center near the fruits section. I would recommend that if you shop here a lot, you should get the Sam's Plus membership plan because you get cash rewards. Like I went shopping there and saved $30 off. Typically, you would put your items on the conveyer belt, but recently the cashier does that for you and will also put it all back in your cart. They don't have bags as it's bulk items with good price deals, but I would recommend you take boxes that are empty when you shop. For example, I went shopping for berries and they were stacked and I ended up taking all the berries which left an empty box so I just stacked my berries in that box in my cart so it was easier for me to carry to my home. They do sell a box-like container that will keep your items cold or hot near the register.

Check your receipts. They over charge and hen pretend they will fix the problem and then never respond. Will not return to store or renew my membership again

One of my favorites. Great products that you can't find elsewhere and love the samples.

Roughly two weeks ago or so I went to Sams club in MG to get my 4 new tires put on that I purchased. It took 6 hours to get it done, they do not take appointments. After I picked up my car I drove for a few miles and when I got up to 40 MPH or higher I started to hear this weird noise near my front passenger tire, I looked at my tire, tried adding air to see if that helped, looked for a nail, nothing. Called Sams club about the issue they said I would have to come back and get back in line and wait again, even though this issue was caused by them they wouldnt make any exceptions to look at what they did wrong. I talked to the tire center manager and store manager. They wouldn't make any accommodations to re-look at what they did wrong. I kept calling for days to see when the wait wouldnt be as long, everyday it was just as long, and after talking to the managers and the rude customer service they had I decided to drive to St. Louis Park location. (Fridley was just as busy today) I went to the SLP location and they got me in within half an hour to look at my tires and re-balance my tires to see if that would fix the issue. When he had my front passenger tire on the tire pressure thing that spins the tire he heard something banging around inside my tire and asked for my permission to open up my tire to see what the problem was. He opened my tire to find that Maple Grove had broken my tire pressure monitor for my front passenger tire and attempted to DUCT TAPE it back together, which obviously did not work and caused me a hassle. They also put the wrong valves on my tires and did not balance my tires correctly. SLP told me I should go back to MG and have them order in the piece because they should fix it since they broke it. After the terrible customer service I had previously with them I expected the worst would happen when I went to MG to confront them about the situation. Surprisingly he said he would order the part in at no cost and fix it. I then asked him why I wasnt informed about them breaking the part and that they instead tried to fix it with duct tape. His response was that he didnt know and cant speak for others. I then told him I would only be picking up my part and going elsewhere to have it replaced. I asked him when I can expect my part in and he said he doesnt know, it could be in one week or three weeks, he doesnt know. Overall the WORST customer service I have ever received. I would NEVER recommend sams club in Maple Grove to anyone. And when I called about trying to get my tire looked at because it was making a weird noise he said I would still have to wait just like everyone else. I just dont understand why I had to be inconvenienced because of their mistake. Before I knew what was wrong with my tire when I first talked to the managers on the phone I was concerned something terrible would happen like my tire break off or something because something wasnt done right, and all he said was well then we wouldnt recommend driving it until you can take a day off to come in "first come first serve" so we can look at it. IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE!!! It was so frustrating and after many phone calls and tears I finally know whats going on and SLP was very helpful and I am just glad I know what the issue is. Long story short.. DONT EVER GO TO SAMS CLUB IN MAPLE GROVE BECAUSE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS! ( Not only in the tire center but the whole store, thats a whole other story
