Sam´S VIP Hostel San Gil

I loved staying at this hostel, right on the main square in San Gil. Diego and Amanda made me feel right at home, booked my rafting and caving excursions with ease, and gave me recommendations around the area. The rooms and common areas were clean, as well as the pool and sauna (!) which was a first for me. The only minor complaint I had was that the mattress I slept on wasn't entirely comfortable (indent down the middle and I woke up a lot from discomfort). The sliding door to the room might also need some adjustment as it was difficult to open. Overall, great stay in one of my favorite small towns in Colombia and I hope to be back again soon!

Very nice hostel and unbeatable price right in the centre! They even offer a Sauna which was the first hostel I ever encountered with that. Amanda is super nice and helped me with my plans in San Gil and made me feel very welcome right away. I would always come back to it, 10/10

I came back after 9 long years, and wishing to going back again but don't taking that long. Definitely best hostel in the area, lovely room with jacuzzi, giant bathroom, the shared areas where always clean, beautiful pool with a view and the sauna was the best after a long day doing activities outside. Girls (Daniela and Vanessa) at reception were a top notch, they organized all types of activities during our short stay, we even had time for a relaxing massage. Love you people from Sam's, best staff and hostel in San Gil!!!

Sams VIP is an amazing hostel. The rooms are clean and spacious, the prices are very reasonable, and the location is right smack in the middle of town. They also have a cute little pool right on the top of the building where you can relax and look out on the town. Though the thing that I find to be best about the hostel is the staff…they are so friendly and so accommodating. I met a total of 5 while I was there and they all wanted to make sure I had everything I needed, that I could do all the activities I wanted to do, how to get from one place to another, and even helped me practice my Spanish. I’ll be back!

100% the best hostel in San Gil. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful. The whole hostel gives off a vibe of living in a flat with some really cool and chill people. The kitchens are really well equipped which makes cooking at home really easy and enjoyable. On top of that the living area offers a place for you to eat where you can watch TV, chill by yourself and or socialize with others. The swimming pool area is beautiful. The pool is kept really clean and the sauna is a great bonus. It's a perfect place to chill, play around in the pool and catch some sun, or just read a book. All the rooms are clean and the cleaning staff are super friendly, they offer you fresh towels and sheets everyday. Furthermore the hostel offers a range of activities in the San Gil, such as whitewater rafting abseiling and bungee jumping. I could not recommend this hostel more if you're staying in San Gil, don't even bother looking at other hostels and go to this one.

Amazing hostel in the best location, balcony overlooks the main square and is great to sit and eat there at night. The staff here are amazing and really make this place what it is! Daniela the receptionist is so friendly and funny and will help you with anything, as well as Vannessa. They are always around and the hostel is more like a home you can get settled in. The kitchen is big, clean, fully equipped and good to cook in. The pool terrace is also great. Stayed here and came back here the next time I visited San Hill, always a great experience!

Got moved from the original hostel I booked (La Mansion) to here without any explanation. Pleasant hostel, staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee served all day and they have a pool and sauna but can’t comment on those as I didn’t use them. The 4 bed mixed dorm room was ok, beds a bit firm and only had fan working as didn’t know how to work the AC so room did get fairly hot. The kitchens could do with a bit of a tidy but that’s like most hostels anyway. Can use desk to book tours with the hostel which is handy. Overall good hostel with welcoming staff.
