The two things holding back this review from being 5 stars are:|1. The initial arrival/check-in is totally focussed on the hotel rules and the fines applied if you break them. They have obviously had bad experiences with guests in the past, but I was made to feel like I was on an 18-30s lad's holiday, when I was away with my girlfriend. The service from the front desk beyond this first greeting though was very good, organising excursions and transport.|2. The hotel is generally a bit worn: everything works, but could do with a freshen up. For example: the shower is good, and usually warm, but the door didn't quite close properly. ||Otherwise, good and comfortable stay. Other specifics:||- The breakfast is great: you can order omelette/scrambled eggs/fried eggs cooked fresh, which I had every day. My girlfriend had beans and cheese on toast. Fruit and pastries also available.|- Pool snack bar also very good (see photo of bacon sandwich with fries, which I would recommend).|- The gym is useful, although missing key dumbbells between 8kg and 12kg, which does limit some exercises.|- Maid service who made up our room every day of our stay.|- Michelin Guide restaurant 15 mins walk away too (Phensiri).
