San Carlo Theatre

Whilst in Naples for Christmas and New Year we went to see the Nutcracker for a bit of Christmas spirit. The theatre is beautiful and there was real heart in the performance. Every part of the circles are boxes of slightly differing sizes. Ours was an 8 person quite cosy to share with strangers but fun. I would recommend a visit if you get the chance.

A stunningly beautiful theatre, one of the oldest opera houses in Europe. We watched Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and I, as a sophisticated spectator, liked it no less as at the Bolshoi Theater. I recommend buying tickets far in advance.

Genuinely one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen. It is not massive but it is so impressive. We came to see an homage to Italian opera - it was a more casual and interactive performance than I was expecting perhaps reflecting the relative intimacy of the theatre. We very much enjoyed seeing the talent of the musicians. We were able to buy tickets in advance in the website with minimal fuss.

5 stars for the building. 0 for the aria Di Natale which has been opera in the past. This year it was grim Christmas songs sung with operatic voices which was simply torture.

Great experience going to the theatre in Napoli, we booked as an opportunity to sample the environment and really enjoyed the classical music performance in a grand theatre. I would highly recommend a visit

It is amazing. We went on the English/italian tour. We definitely recommend visiting it!

This visit was the highlight of our trip! The theater is absolutely astonishing from the inside. Be sure not to miss it! There are 4 tours per day - 3 of them in Italian and one in English and Italian. We couldn`t arrive for the English one and we did the Italian one at 4:30 PM but at the end of the tour we asked the guide to tell us the main things and we learned interesting facts for the theater. A tour costs 9 euro and lasts 30 minutes. We waited for the group to go outside the main hall and made pictures with no people. I totally recommend to pay a visit here.

Wow what a venue, absolutely stunning. Try to get tickets for a performance if you can.

This is a must. period. While vacationing in Rome, I took a side trip to Naples and this was one of my must see sites. I wasn't here long, at all, but husband and I dropped in early afternoon to queue and buy tickets for a tour. We enjoyed it very much. If we had more time and stayed in the area, we would've tried to catch a show, but this was the next best thing and it was great. If you have time and can't catch a show, this is the next best thing. The tour guide was passionate and told us stories about the theater. There was plenty of time to take pictures as well.

Teatro di San Carlo is one of the most beautiful opera houses in Italy. Even if you're not an opera fan, you should come for the quintessential Italian experience.

The guided tour of Europe's oldest opera house is about 45 min or so and is very interesting. Our charming guide narrated the tour in Italian and English and was able to answer additional questions from the group about this beautiful place. If you are in Naples even for a short time you will be happy you squeezed in time for this experience.

Five stars for the guided tour of the Napoli Opera House. Very informative and narrated with passion by our guide. I wish I could visit the opera during performance, but the season hadn't started yet. The guided toor alternative brings you to all the areas you would like to see, even the kings loge.
