On the Grid : San Diego Vintage

"Small vintage shop, but absolutely packed with rare stuff. Bought a brown and gold San Diego Padres "Brown Baggers" jersey with a drunk Swinging Friar on it. So in one stop, you can grab a coffee at Por Vida, crate dig for records at Beat Box, and then buy some vintage jerseys or kicks at SD Vintage, all at a great price and without pretentiousness. Challenge to leave without buying something!" - Product Etc.

This place has thousands of dollars worth of high end antiques of all varieties. Really one of the widest selections in San Diego. It's really cool stuff. Parking is easy. You might want to call or text before going, the hours are sometimes eclectic.

Comic con traffic sucked so I came this way. Glad I did! It's like a museum. Huge! So many amazing things. Will be back for the art work and vintage frames.

This place is a hidden gem! It’s filled with a tremendous amount of beautiful and vintage items - it even has some items that date all the way back to the 1700’s! The shop owner, Paul, was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about each item I was interested in purchasing. His shop is meticulously organized, and all similar items or themes are shelved together, which makes perusing a lot easier and enjoyable. Jamie was working there too and she was very delightful and friendly as well. We ended up purchasing a few beautiful items but ran out of time because we had a dinner reservation to get to. But I will certainly be back to visit soon! Thank you, Paul, for being so welcoming and helpful!

This place is not hyped enough. So much variety and every antique piece is high quality. A little dust off and organization and this place would definitely catch many eyes! The prices are more than affordable for something so unique and valuable. Very nice customer service as well !

Hidden Gem? That’s how we call. Yep, that’s here. Unique pieces selected by Mr Paul. His selection is truly amazing. I can’t start a project without checking here. From a all galore variety of mirrors to African or Egyptian treasures. Take your time. I follow him on Facebook marketplace which makes my search sometimes a little easier but although he post frequently, you will find so much more at the store.

It would be easy to become overwhelmed by all the amazing and unique things in this space, but the owner has done a wonderful job grouping like items into their own little areas. One huge plus to this shop is the owner, Paul. I asked him about a kind of random metal weight I’ve been in search of for years, and not only did he know what I was talking about, he walked right over to a display case with a complete set. (Yes, I bought it). Usually antique store employees are like, “I don’t know. Just go dig around.” Hunting for treasures can be fun, but when you need something specific, it’s soooooo nice to encounter someone who really knows their stuff. Finally, if you need a mirror, this place has ALL THE MIRRORS. Big, bold mirrors. Small, delicate mirrors. Seriously, all the mirrors. I found the most beautiful vintage mirror for my bathroom for only $35.

Wow, what a treasure of a store. So much to take in and I found some truly unique pieces for my new house. You’ll definitely find something you like. Check it out! It’s worth it.

Yelp
Stopped by to have a look during our vacation in San Diego. There is parking right out front. The owner was very cordial and offered assistance and directions to certain groups of antiques. Unfortunately, the only thing I wanted to buy, a Roman Column Shelving Unit, was not for sale.

Yelp
Before you decorate your house, this place is a must see. Hundreds of wall mirrors, thousands of nick knacks, stuff out a movies, old books, lots of lamps, stuff from the Orient, crazy stuff that you would not think of. Paul, the owner is a veteran and nice guy, he will work with you on the price. Even if you are not in the market for anything, this worth your time to walk through this shop.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to over 200 antique and thrift stores in Southern California in the past 3 years and somehow missed this one until recently. I eventually came across it on a Facebook Marketplace listing so we took a chance and drove down. The large space is packed full of an eclectic array of merchandise which the owner has sorted well to make searching easy and enjoyable. He is friendly and helpful and has a great eye. We have a very narrow focus in our search these days so we didn't find anything this time but there is something for everyone here and we sure had a good time looking. There's next to no parking on the street but you can park on the dirt between the building and the railroad tracks. It's open odd hours so check before going and make sure to get some Barrio Logan tacos when you're there.

Yelp
I found the store through an OfferUp post. Paul was very communicative and helpful. He even offered a free return if the item I purchased didn't end up working out in my home. SD Antique & Unique is worth a visit!
