San Francisco Law Library

Needed access to some information in a very expensive and proprietary Bloomberg tax portfolio. Thought I was SOL as a non law student, but the SF Law Library saved my butt, for free! Very nice and helpful librarians, too.

Great resource for legal practitioners, but very rude staff. Last time i was here, i was shooed out by the staff even before their closing time.

Aaron has been incredible in not only looking into the difficult historical information that I've been researching but also in providing numerous other possible resources to try when the information I needed was not available.

I love this place! I can find all the resources I need for my case study in my law subject. The staffs are also ready to assist you in your inquiries. I will definitely recommend it.

Take the elevator to the 4th floor of the 1145 Market bld. Open to the public. Bring a sort of ID to use their computer or request wifi for your device. You can also use the SF public wifi there. Some parts of the library work better.

Very helpful staff. Lots of important research tools.

Law libraries are an amazing resource & law librarians are some of the greatest unsung heroines of our society.

I am a frequent patron of this library. It is located on Market Street in San Francisco, just across from Civic Center. Exit at the Civic Center BART station. This library is a great resource for law students and legal practitioners. They have Rutter guides and a whole bunch of other legal treatises. They have a law librarian to help with legal research. They also have computers with access to lexis and/or westlaw, although their use time is limited to an hour or two. My complaint is regarding customer service and the rude staff. Recently, when they closed, i started putting my stuff away. They came by and literally harassed me, saying that "the library was closed" and i "needed to leave now." Take a chill pill, people. I have never seen such up tight and unreasonable staff anywhere. When i left, it was maybe 5-minutes after the hour. For that, i have named these librarians, the soup naz- librarians.

Simple, quiet, comfortable with kind staff and free! Sign in at the building entrance and take the elevator.

The best kept legal secret in San Francisco for sure. I don't want to say too much because it's a law library and doesn't really need too much of my opinion. It's an excellent place to come to do legal work. Very nice and knowledgeable staff.

I love law libraries. And not just because I'm a lawyer. These places are always well stocked with law librarians and incredible resources of very costly data bases. Last resort for many a lay person who cannot afford legal help, coming to the law library can get you educated about options for everything from divorce to creating a non profit. Quiet. Clean. Comfortable. And crucial. I'm delighted to spend the afternoon here. PS. Bathrooms compost their paper towels. Oh San Francisco, bless your heart. Also, two hours of Wi Fi with your ID.

Super accommodating staff, free WiFi, free Lexis-Nexus and West Law, free bathrooms, walked us through the online registration process. Couldn't have been a better experience.

Open on Saturday, how cool is that! Not many users so found a comfortable chair and good availability of the research attorney.

There area is conveniently located beside the Civic Center BART station. The staff is helpful by answering my questions on how to find information and resources. Their staff will take unattended items and put in it in their Lost and Found. I would not suggest leaving things unattended there as anyone can walk away with your stuff. The library is quiet, clean, and I haven't found any books placed in the wrong shelf. They have computers and good wi-fi reception which requires a password that you get from the front desk after presenting your photo ID and signing in.
