"Stay in the Heart of the Cayo District Centrally located in the heart of the Cayo District, the award-winning San Ignacio Resort Hotel offers guests convenient access to the region’s best sights and activities. San Ignacio Resort Hotel features 24 rooms and has the distinction of being named “Hotel of the Year” in 2012 by the Belize Tourism Board. Room options include a honeymoon suite, regal rooms, deluxe balcony and garden rooms and one spa suite. The on-site restaurant features a number of tantalizing dishes and some of the best traditional food I’ve had in Belize. Check out the on-site Green Iguana Project and learn about San Ignacio Resort Hotel’s conservation efforts in Belize. Be sure to start at least one morning off by bird-watching over breakfast."

"The town of San Ignacio is one of the capitals of rainforest tourism in Belize, and the surrounding area is home to a couple of great eco-lodges. Among the in-town options, however, there’s nothing quite like the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. First of all, the setting: though central, it’s a 17-acre riverside estate, a bona fide parcel of jungle within the city limits, with its own on-site iguana conservation project — surely not something most hotels can say." - Tablet Hotels

Our family stayed at San Ignacio Hotel Resort this past August and we are still talking about the incredible experience and top notch service. From the reception desk to every person you encounter, the customer service was always welcoming and willing. The staff is very professional at every level. We had the Jungle View Room and the balcony was lovely and very relaxing. It's very easy to forget you are in the middle of town so to speak. The kids enjoyed the pool, although they didn't get enough of it because we were too busy enjoying the excursions. We picked cave tubing and ziplining. Highly recommend the combination and Carlitos was an excellent guide. Took the time to explain and we learned so many new things. We also went to Tikal, although we had a different guide, he was also very knowledgeable. Even knew a "grandma" remedy to help my son deal with all his bug bites (he's a magnet) and it worked! We were sad to leave and wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the other amenities. Next time! I highly recommend SIHR for your stay in Belize.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Keep in mind that you’re in Central America so the standard of luxury is different that maybe what we are used to back home but we just loved the quaint feel of the hotel. We enjoyed the Iguana tour, the birding tour, and our day trip into Tikal which was the main reason why we had come to this hotel. Our hotel room was nicely appointed and we enjoyed our meals here. We would recommend this hotel to anyone even though it’s at the top of a hill - a great way to get your steps in!

We had such a wonderful stay at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly nice and warm, always smiling, helpful, and making sure we felt comfortable. Their hospitality truly stood out. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything we needed to relax after long days of exploring. The property itself is beautiful, well kept, and has a peaceful atmosphere. The location is perfect, close to the heart of San Ignacio but still tucked away enough. It’s easy to explore the town and nearby attractions. Overall, it’s a place that combines comfort, convenience, and genuine Belizean hospitality.

Had a delightful lunch there. Staff members were welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were appropriate. The steak was tender and juicy and worthwhile savoring. They also had options for fresh natural juices. I had watermelon. So refreshing as it was a hot day.

Lovely stay! The food at the restaurant was so good that we didn’t eat anywhere else during our stay. Rooms are comfortable and the pool is quite nice. It is a central location to many hiking spots as well.

Stopped by for a night tour before we left and it was by far our favorite experience in the area. Santos was an amazing guide and his knowledge and energy was incredible. I highly recommend the night tour for anyone staying at the resort or in the area.

We felt pampered by the staff from the moment we arrived! Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. By the second day, they knew our names and favorite cocktail. The room was comfortable and the amenities were nice. The hotel is located just on the edge of town, so we could walk around and explore easily. We also booked our excursions through the hotel and I cannot rave enough about the guides! Fabulous! Cannot wait to return!

Not only was our room beautiful and comfy (we had the Royal Suite), the grounds are lovely as well. The staff are the warmest and most attentive anywhere! The food (both in the restaurant, bar, and room service) was fresh and homemade and so good, especially the green juice! I miss this resort so much and can't wait to return! |Be sure to book your excursions through the concierge..they do a fantastic job! Highly recommend the day trip to Tikal, the ATM cave, and night critter walk with Santos!
