San Isidro Lodge

Stunning views, beautiful grounds, superb service! This should be a bucket list item. The birds, butterflies and flora were something out of a fairy tale! All thumbs up!

Bad experience. First I must say that the sign did say this place is for guests only. I did not notice this, and after driving up the good dirt road, we arrived looking for breakfast and a walk through the reserve. We were expecting to pay for this. But instead of being able to pay for the walk or the breakfast, we were very politely asked to leave. Why this place doesn't offer an option to visit for non guests, I don't know. I do know that I came here, previously with a Gate 1 bus tour, and we visited and had coffee. So if this place takes Gate 1's money without having to stay there, why would they deny entry to us. BEWARE!

What an amazing place! I live in Quito and this was the perfect adventure to go on for a long weekend with my wife and two kids (8 and 2). There were looks of things for us all to do and the food was amazing. So many wonderful birds and wildlife. I look forward to going back again!

This is a gorgeous place, I only stopped for lunch so did not see the rooms. Beautiful and treated like a queen. Hope to go back and stay a while one day.

What an absolutely amazing experience at this lodge! The lodge is beautiful and nestled into the forest, the host is lovely and super knowledgeable, the food is incredible, and the accommodations were luxurious beyond what anyone could possibly expect in such an incredibly unspoiled location. Can’t wait to come back!

I stayed in one of the newer cabanas, which was really nice. It had a king sized bed, a walk in shower, a comfortable couch to sit on, a very nice patio and a heater! It's a bit cool in the cloud forest, so the heater was nice to have. The food and service in the restaurant was very good. It was very rainy while I was at the lodge, so I wasn't able to explore the property, but it was still fun to watch birds from the large covered patio at the restaurant.

Nice cabins, excellent birds, wonderful food. Recommend to make daily towel change optional (according to guest need). All the towels were changed daily which I find a bit excessive :)
