San Jose de Puembo Hotel y Centro de Convenciones an Ascend Hotel

Beautiful hotel about 20 minutes from the airport. We used the gym and liked seeing the llamas around. The one point of feedback was that it was difficult to control the temperature of our room and it got quite cold without being able to turn up the heat.

Lovely location, worked well for destination wedding. However amenities are lacking. I booked a suite, which gave us a sitting room & kitchenette and a large jacuzzi tub. There were no Kleenex at all in the room, no washcloths and towels were skimpy and cheapish. Breakfast buffet was extensive and tasty. Mattress very comfortable.

We booked 2 rooms with garden view 6 months before. Upon arrival, they gave us 2 rooms at the noisy street side. Reception was not receptive for our complaint and did not want to compensate either.

Beautiful location full of nature, and fresh air. You can walk all around the hosteria and onto the adjacent property to see the cows, lamas and horses. However, all the good time and beauty was shadowed by the indifferent attitude and lack of customer service of the people at the front desk, restaurant, pool area, all throughout during our stay. Additionally, the steam room and jacuzzi were dirty and inoperable. To top it all off, we were told the hot water will be turned off at noon so, if we wanted to take a shower with hot water, we had to hurry up. But it continued to be hot, despide of what we were told. Honestly, the place is not worth the money we paid, plus the unfriendly and careless attitude of the hosteria staff throughout. There are plenty of similar places in the area to enjoy the views and nature. The only ones who deserves kudos are the security guards at the entrance who were welcoming and friendly.

Great place to settle in in Ecuador/Quito. Very nice rooms and great garden. Uber to city is about 30-45 minutes.

We landed at the airport. They said there was an airport shuttle. There was no airport shuttle that we could find. Not a big deal. It was a $15 cab ride. Got to the hotel around 11:00 pm. Got to the room. There was a giant spider in the room. Not a big deal, dealt with the spider. Then there wasn’t hot water. Then there wasn’t any water at all. Not in the shower. Not in the sink. They let us shower in the room next door. It was 1:00 am by the time we were showered. Then they came to our room at 7:15 am to look at the water situation. This was my second worst hotel experience of my life. I’m 50 and I have stayed in 100s of hotels in over a dozen countries. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I think staying in the airport would have been better. I probably would have gotten more sleep! A terrible way to start a vacation.

If you are looking for a unique and exceptional resort look no further. This resort has everything and then some amenities you will be surprised to find: Beautiful large grounds, free breakfast that is above most we have encountered at other hotels, superb customer service, large gym, several pools and jacuzzis, a spa and then there is the large playground for kids with a little zip line, llamas walking around and a petting zoo! So impressed and will be staying here again when we return to Ecuador!

Very clean and efficient. Super friendly and professional staff. Close to the airport and a a beautiful property you can spend your whole vacation relaxing there with out even leaving. Food is delicious and available at most time of the day. Showers had great water pressure and always had extra hot water. Safe and secure as they have security on site and it full enclosed property with guards at the entrance. I was even able to pay a small fee to have a really late check out 6pm to catch my flight.
