San Pancho

I love to take visitors to this restaurant as there is something for everyone. For me, I love the fresh fish, which Roland, the owner, debones at table side. The staff is responsive and friendly. I love sitting out by the street watching the various performances. The ambiance is festive.

We spent 10 days in beautiful Playa San Pancho and this was our only disappointing meal. The servers did a fine job. There was music provided that wasn't great but A for effort. We started with fish ceviche and enjoyed it but it was downhill after that. The bouillabaisse was meh and the lobster/crayfish was disgusting. It wasn't prepared properly or/and had gone bad. In hindsight we should have sent it back but we were trying to roll with the relaxed vibe. The owner will chat you up and tell you how great the food is but he would do better keeping an eye on what comes out of the kitchen.

Cute little place with amazing food! Stopped here for our first meal in San Poncho and it did not disappoint. Ceviche, fish tacos and fish and chips were all so good- the owner was our server and caught all the mahi mani fresh that morning. Couldn't ask for a better start to our trip

Stopped at this place for a bite to eat. I'm so glad I did. This place did not disappoint. We had the chicken fajita's. The chicken was so tasty. The chicken Caesar, chicken burger & coconut shrimp were also very good. The service was so fast and efficient. All the food was so tasty. Very large portions.

This place is 10/10 and not to be missed. I got the Cameron wok last night. The shrimp were high quality: fresh, large, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The dish was deeply tasting (think umami) yet healthy, well balanced, colorful, fresh, hearty and filling, a true delight. Everything was well seasoned, well proportioned, skillfully executed, healthy, and aesthetically tasteful. This place is truly amazing, owner/chef is present and the greatest guy to meet. 10/10 is such an understatement here. It's just a lovely place with a lovely vibe with great ambiance, great staff, one of the coolest/most present [and deeply invested in his food] chefs/owners I've come across. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. I'd eat here every day.

We had some friends here last March and recommended this restaurant. We were told the food was great and owner welcoming and friendly. They didn't lie. We have been here a couple times now. I had fish tacos which I think are the best in all San Pancho. I'm also on a mission to find the best guacamole and ceviche, both awesome! I'm sure we will be back again as we have yet to try the infamous crème brûlée. One of our group had the burger and said it was the best he's ever had. Big too! We will be going back before we go. The owner Roland is super nice and gave us many good tips on the town and sites. They have music several nights a week and Franz was very good, even taking requests of a song he'd never played before and once Roland joining in to entertain. Very talented! All in all we had Great food, fun and feel like we made a couple friends. Highly recommend!

This place was the highlight of our trip! The food is excellent... so we ended up eating there three times during the week we spent here. To start, the sea bass and the coconut shrimp were both amazing! The ceviche was incredibly fresh and probably the best we have ever eaten. The hamburger is huge and wonderful. We also had the chocolate strawberry crepe - and the little ice cream bar features home made ice cream. We loved the Nutella! The owner Rolando makes your visit so personal and fun! He took us out on his boat to fish for the catch of the day... we had the time of our lives!!!! We will be back!

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in San Pancho. We stopped here the first day we got in town and had an amazing dinner full of flavor and freshness. They also routinely have live music and impeccable service which can be hard to find at other restaurants. We also got to know the owner Rolando incredibly well and went fishing with him one morning, afterwards he took our fish to the restaurant and cooked us a massive dinner. I highly recommend eating here and trying all their food (the burger is a must have).

La comida más mejor San Pancho todo está fresco. Te gusta la comida. Comida Buena y fresca aquí el sitio y Marino súper agradable con su ambiente. Recomiendo el langostino, el huachinango y tuna tataki Yummmmmm

Wonderful service. Solid food. They had some issue tonight in the kitchen that held up orders. Before we said anything the staff was out apologizing and bringing a free item to the table. Fresh and quality food in our meals too.

The lobster / langosta was incredible!!! The fresh caught Mahi Mahi was excellent too!

Had a great meal for my pre-birthday weekend last night at San Pancho Marino. We were walking the main road - considering our options - when we were approached by a man in a striped shirt and the San Pancho Marino logo. At first we figured he was just the host - attempting to lure us in. Turns out he's the owner and chef. Originally from France, I'd guess Roland's true passions are the fabulous Mexican weather and the outstanding fishing the waters in the area provide. He fishes in the morning and then runs the restaurant at night - serving up whatever delicious fare he caught that day. Given a choice of fresh red snapper, tuna, or mahi mahi - I'm going to pick the snapper - hands down - every time. My husband had the mahi mahi. Borge we delicious and expertly prepared and served. The steamed veggies and rice were less inspired, but still tasty, especially after pouring the bowl of cilantro cream sauce over them. Roland checked on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our food. When Daniel was finished and his plate returned to the kitchen with the boring veggies still in place, Roland came to ask what was wrong with his veggies. As it turns out, he is not a fan of veggies either, and sent out a bowl of the most amazing ing mashed potatoes for my husband to try instead. SO good!! They had the perfect consistency - still a few rustic lumps - and were still light and fluffy. That's hard to achieve with the typical Mexican yellow potatoes that are prevalent in the area. I have no idea why his restaurant didn't rank higher on Yelp - but it certainly should. Best fresh snapper I've had in a while, and chatting with Roland was great fun. He even offered me a job - seems he's looking for experienced help in the kitchen. And since I mentioned wanting a tattoo that says "Mise en place" - that sealed the deal. Too bad I'm enjoying retirement way too much to work that hard! It would be fun though - for a couple of days! If you're walking down Main Street and can't decide on where to eat - I highly recommend San Pancho Marino. Roland Hossegor and his crew will take good care of you!! @rockfood_by_roland_hossegor @sanpanchomarino The ambience was okay. That would be my only real critique. As a large-bottomed woman - the tall bar chairs were tricky to get in and out of - and not do comfortable that I wanted to extend my meal any longer than absolute necessary. If I stop again, I'll choose to sit further inside. Jess people watching, for sure, but my butt will thank me later. But talking with Roland again would be worth it! Restaurants/Bar people rake note - your seating options definitely weigh in on my making a choice to stop. If your seating looks uncomfortable or precarious - it may look cool, but I'm going to walk on by until I find a place with more comfortable seats.

We had an amazing meal at San Pancho Marino! The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The owner, Rolando, was especially welcoming and made the experience even better!

One of my favorite restaurants with one of my favorite people ! Rolando such a beautiful person and lively restaurant host . Had a fantastic time getting to know him and he even introduced us to other visitors in the area who turned out to be awesome . Hope to visit you again soon !

The food here is good and at a great price. The owner is from France so there are a few French dishes on the menu. We got the Boulliblase, Wok Shrimp, Mahi Mahi, and Guac and they were DELICIOUS! The portions are huge. The owner and his staff are all very friendly and fun, you will have a great time dining here.

Insane food! Best ever! Lobster to tacos you can't go wrong with anything! The guacamole and chips were amazing as well! The wine! Jeez! Good luck finding something you don't like here

3.5 - Satisfied. Seafood is really why you should visit here. The food is very good with enough variety and flavour to leave you satisfied. The fajitas were well prepared, tasty with guacamole, beans, peppers, shrimp. Portions are good but not quite approaching generous. Drinks are cold. Seating is varied with slightly elevated front row street views (great people watching, actual seat comfort was average) and couch style seating for serious lounging and hanging out just off the sidewalk. Service was prompt, accurate and more business like than friendly, somewhat lacked attentiveness. They do have a projector beaming sports programming on large wall for football fans. Pricing is what you would expect on the strip and on the way to the beach. There were no issues with the bill and they do take CREDIT CARDS. As always, for real. You be the judge.

Came by to look at the menu and the owner shot out of the dark like a bat and was insistent that he could make anything I wanted and it would taste better than I had ever had. Even thou I have common sense and knew better I decided to have a burger. It was the GREASIEST burger I have ever had. Any restaurant that offers more than 2 specialities of food should be avoided. Had 2 bites and ended up leaving. Also, bring bug spray because even inside the flies are relentless.

We were so glad to eat at this restaurant. The chef and staff were so kind and accommodating. We enjoyed a great selection of seafood and cocktails. The chef even deboned my husbands fish for him. We highly recommend this restaurant. Top notch service, food, and cleanliness. Until we meet again

The food here is amazing with a full bar and wide array of cocktails, wine and beer. It is a real scene and the owner, Roland, is very welcoming and helpful in discussing the menu and recommending various dishes. It is not far from the beach where you can see a lovely sunset and then meander to the restaurant for a memorable meal. Service was great and I would highly recommend San Pancho Marino without reservation!

Food was ok , the owner Really obnoxious, burgers suck... But the Indonesian bowls were fantastic but I would not go back !! Sorry I hate to give bad reviews... The staff was great but the owner sucked !! I'm not kidding

Loved the fresh seafood the owner brings back every day from the fishing boat. We had a mix of grilled lobster, crab , shrimps, fish for 2 that was delicious Service was great and friendly

Stumbled upon this place when we were on the hunt for Mexotik and couldn't find it....but happy we ended up here! Good vegetarian options including a veggie and vegan burger. Very accommodating of making quesadillas on corn tortillas to be gluten free. Portions were very big and drinks were delicious. Owner stopped by our table and was super nice to chat with.

Fabulous dinner at San Pancho Marino. Owner and staff were welcoming and very friendly. I took the owner's suggestion and ordered the Mahi which was delicious. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant for wonderful food, sTaff and vibe. Great cocktails also!

Outstanding fresh fish, great restaurant. Owner, Roland, came out and greeted us. He is a French chef who moved to San Pancho a year ago. Fish is so fresh that the owner caught the fish this morning (saw him coming back from the marina with the fish). We will be back on our next trip.

Bali inspired stir fry with shrimp was tasty and packed with veggies. Owner is pretty cool. He roams around and connects with customers. Surf videos on loop are initially nice but get stale after awile. A good spot for a break from traditional Mexican fare, fresh seafood, and solid music choices from the Frenchman. Also like the homage to the rock legends by the bathroom.
