I paid $30 to get here via taxi from BZE and then another $30 for the water taxi to San Pedro. For another twenty bucks I could have taken the 15 minute plane flight on Tropic or Maya Air! But it was an adventure driving into Belize City and riding on the boat for a couple hours... No complaints, just make the right choice for you!

So, my first time on the taxi was great. Got on no problems, lovely ride with rooftop boat. This was in February. May is supposed to be a slow time but today I waited to get in line because I didn’t want to stand in line for 15-25 mins before boarding started. I was confident that wasn’t an issue since I had been here before and they boarded 2 boats at the same time. Today they filled up that boat and said, sorry next boat at 3. 🤨 I asked why they would sell that many more. There were at least 20 people still in line behind me. I was mad. I’d been there since noon. It was 1:30. After several people got mad they said they would bring another boat. Still 4 stars, maybe more like 3.5. Today was hot and I was definitely frustrated and they should definitely plan better. But they still made sure we got there. We took a small boat to caye caulker and transferred over to the big boat when it arrived. But also don’t oversell and don’t tell me I have to wait twice as long because you oversold. That’s poor customer service. Thanks for coming through in the end though.

Gustavo the Bossman in charge was extremely helpful. Upon arrival to the ferry station I wasn’t sure if it was the best one for us to take. He ensured us that it was. After purchasing my ticket to board, I realized I had lost my phone. He was able to contact our cab driver that picked us up at airport and locate my phone which I had accidentally left in his car. Something told me not to panic and go talk to Gustavo. I’m so happy I came in contact with him and was able to retrieve my cellphone. That is great service. The ferry ride was a little long but very nice to see and relaxing.

**Terrible Experience - Do Not Recommend!** I had an awful experience with San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi. Despite booking tickets for 8 people months in advance (a full 4 months!), they canceled our departure at the very last minute. There was no explanation given, but it seemed pretty clear that they canceled simply because they hadn't sold enough tickets to make it worth their while. This is an outrageous way to treat paying customers. To make matters worse, getting a refund was an absolute nightmare. I had to repeatedly contact them just to get any of my money back, and even then, they didn't refund the full amount. Their behavior was nothing short of abusive, and their staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful throughout the entire ordeal. Because of their last-minute cancellation, we were stranded and faced significant additional costs just to get to San Pedro. This company clearly has no respect for its customers and is only interested in making a profit, no matter how it affects others. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone—travelers should beware! If I could report this kind of treatment easily, I would, and I sincerely hope they face consequences for their terrible treatment of tourists. Avoid at all costs!

I recently took the ferry from Belize City to Caye Caulker. The experience was different depending on which staff member you spoke with. In Belize City, the staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They explained that the shuttle would arrive close to departure time, unload, and then leave within 15-20 minutes. I followed their instructions. When we got to the dock, we were told that the ferry was full and that we should have been there earlier. I explained that I was following the instructions given to me by the crew. The young lady at the dock didn't seem to care and we ended up missing the ferry and almost missing our flight back to the States.

If you use the taxi to get around, do NOT check your luggage with them. They forgot to put ours on the taxi from Caye Caulker to Belize City for us to take home on our return flight. They acknowledged it and said they had it and they'd ship it to us. After nearly 1 month (yes, month) of being polite and stating how not having all of our clothes was really a big problem for us, we finally got it back. However, over the course of that month, they communicated poorly, weren't truthful about having actually shipped it, and we also had to pay an $80 shipping/customs fee to get it back when it arrived in the US. When I asked if San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi would please pay the fee, plus refund our ticket price for using their service for the trouble they caused, they said no - on grounds that they provided the service. So, if their form of service does not include actually getting your luggage from point A to point B, then I highly suggest if you use them, to NOT check your luggage if you want to get it back at the other end of your trip. Because that's not promised! I also didn't feel like a refund and paying the fee was an absurd request. It would have been good customer service. I could have asked for the money back that we had to spend to buy our kids some new clothes while we waited and hoped to see our suitcase again someday. So, don't use San Pedro Belize Express if you want to keep your valuables or be treated with respect.

Do not use this service if you are on a rigid time schedule. Bought 4 tickets to Caye Caulker from Belize City. We stood in the boarding line, and as they announced boarding, 15 minutes late, about 40 men that all appeared to be construction workers came along the side and cut in front of us. As we got to the gate, they announced that the boat was full. We had to wait another 20 minutes for another boat. Depending on which boat you get (there are several shapes and sizes) you may either have a smooth comfortable ride, or the exact opposite. We actually made it to San Pedro before the original boat that was full. Had to wait 30 minutes for our luggage. Took the service from Caye Caulker to San Pedro 2 days later. We were the only travelers with luggage - we saw it on the cart on the side of the dock as we were boarding the boat. Upon arrival at San Pedro, we had no luggage. They did not load the luggage on the boat. When I pointed this out, one of the workers showed me a picture of our luggage on his phone and asked if that was our luggage - so apparently they were aware they left it. They told me I could come back in 1-1/2 hours to get our luggage. WT"? I told them they needed to deliver the luggage to our hotel - which they did. Not a good experience. If you're on a budget, it's the cheapest way to get to the islands, but that comes at a cost...
