In full disclosure I actually never stayed at this hotel as a regular guest. I was staying at a s******* across the street and kept appearing over to only see this hotels very inviting but mysterious entry. Once inside staff give me and I told them I was just interested in seeing the hotel, as I was staying at a very subpar Hotel across the street. They were so gracious to me and they let is there hot tub on the roof, their swimming pool which was magical, and I paid for some spa services there. The manager was so delightful and we enjoyed long conversations Into the Night. We had kept in touch for a little while after but I've since lost touch with him. Regardless, after spending time in this little gem of a place, it really made me want to return to Cartagena as well as this hotel on some kind of romantic getaway.

We stayed in 3 different places in and around Cartagena and this was the best! The service from the staff is second to none. They really take care of all your needs. We could not have been treated better. The hotel itself is a small boutique hotel in a good location within walking distance anywhere within the old town(if you don't get lost....) The design and decor is beautiful and the room we had was a great size for the price. I really cant recommend place enough! It is also handy for street food vendors nearby which are not too crowded and easy to understand.

Not perfect, but just about deserves 5 stars. Beautiful hotel with just 7 rooms ideally located in the walled city. Room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a private jacuzzi. The courtyard and pool area is stunning. Breakfast in the room was a nice touch and service was always friendly. Negatives: - no free water in the room - hot water didn't work (though they fixed it quickly) - they forgot to pick us up at the airport (though apologised) - actually right next to the busy ring road so it's quite loud on the roof terrace.

Wonderful staff and beautiful accommodations. I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They helped arrange a covid-19 test to be done in our room and the results in 2 hours. The food was made to order eggs each morning with fruits and sausage. Nice little selection to get the day started. They have someone to help arrange any tours or needs that you may have. I spent 4 hours each day ready in a hammock and absolutely loved every minute of it. Will definitely stay here again when we return to Cartagena.

This is one of the rare occasions where I feel that the large number of five star ratings are not justified for a property. I wish I had read the more nuanced lesser starred reviews as I wouldn't have stayed here if I had.||||Positives: the staff are exceptional. All kind, efficient and genuinely caring. Efficient taxi pick up service from the airport can be arranged. The property is a traditional colonial Spanish house which gives you a good feel for what living in Cartagena before independence was like. The breakfast is good with fruit, bread and a cooked egg dish made to order. I also liked that the hotel was a ten minute walk from the center of town opposite the city wall ramparts and therefore more quiet. ||||However, the property is very dark and the rooms especially so. If you want to read, there is really nowhere to do so unless you don't mind sitting in the sun on the rooftop. The rooms have no windows to let in natural light and the light wattage is very dim indeed. They even have candles you can light and the bulbs emit about as much light as a candle. Rooms are spacious but again the decor is dark. There are several maintenance issues (tiles, falling shower curtains) required especially in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water though. And the property is quiet so you can sleep well.||||WIFI is so so. No laundry service in house, but around the block is a 7 day laundry service that does a nice job. The tiny pool greets you when you step into the property, so it's not very comfortable to go for a soak with everyone in the dining area and coming into the hotel looking at you.||||I would not stay here again. Instead, I pick a more modern hotel with natural light and reading lights if staying in Cartagena again.

3 nights was lovely. A very real charm to the place. Great location and surprisingly quiet given the streets nearby are extremely intense. Unfortunately the hot water was an issue (albeit most of Colombia has similar issues), the upstairs Jacuzzi/Bar was closed during high shoulder season ? and 1 particular staff member with a heavy lisp and almost no English was impossible to deal with especially during a travel emergency we experienced. (Yes I know it's not her fault for the lisp, but perhaps not the right person to be handling customer relations given her almost inaudible Spanish) Thankfully Ceasar who is a concierge and tour guide really went out of his way to help.

The stay at San Pedro Hotel Spa was delightful. The hotel with its colonial style is a dream. The decoration is very detailed. From the lobby to the hotel room. Due to the limited number of hotel rooms and so to the limited number of guests every guest is treated individually and the staff is always considered to make the best out of the guest’s stay. I have nothing to complain, quite the contrary only positive memories. A great massage, comfortable and luxurious rooms, a jacuzzi on the roof and as I already mentioned a very courteous staff. The next time in Cartagena I will surely stay at San Pedro Hotel Spa again.

This was the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. We were lucky that they had one suite left when we got there. It was huge! We never used the pool and ate very little while there, but everything was clean and pretty. I couldn't stop walking outside my door and just looking at everything. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience.
