Really nice breakfast with gluten-free options available. The staff are super friendly and hot water for the 🧉 is free. It's near to all amenities. The indoor pool was excellent as well as the outside garden with hammocks, chairs and ambient outside space. Would definitely come back again.

My dear fellow travellers, usually I try not to share bad experiences at all, but can you imagine - 6 months passed already and we still cannot forget this nightmare...Be aware! and never repeat our mistake! This is not a 3 star hotel, not even 1! Frankly saying I stayed in better hostels and do whatever possible to tell as many people as possible about this trip. To start up with all staff was arrogant and rude from the receptionist to manager! They could hardly speak any language except Spanish, which is usually fine for me and my partner as we both speak 5 languages. And you know I wouldn't complain at all if they would offer us any upgrade, changes, reimbursement, but no...||At the same time two other couples were complaining at the reception but it seemed like hotel people there coudln't care less. And you know what's worse - we paid 1108 USD which were never returned to us in full or half!Nothing!!! Though we stayed only 1 night, though supposed to spend our NY Eve there and 4 nights in general. We couldn't sleep there at all as the smell from the toilet was killing us, WC was covered with mold, the doors in both WC and the room itself were hardly closing, so we blocked the entrance to the room with our suitcases as we were simply afraid for our lives and belongings and we left the very next morning. Don't even want to share what they offered for breakfast and the quality of it too...As you might guess we left this place with the sunrise, though were annoyed, hungry and exhausted. So, if you want my advise - please never stay in this hotel, save your money and sleep in the car/on the beach, etc. It would be times better!!!||We are frequent travellers but have never seen or experienced anything worst than that!

Similar to the review dated January 1, our experience was very similar. Booked through booking.com and reservation was settled ok on check-in. Staff were relatively friendly and accommodating during our shortened stay which is about the only tick I can give this hotel. Location is ok and suited better for access to beaches on Atlantic side. Also, free wi-fi has handy but was patchy too often. Our party checked out earlier than intended as we felt we were paying for a very sub-standard hotel accommodation. The condition of the hotel is rough, old, dirty and in need of repairs. Breakfast was very basic and inadequate. Cleaning of the room took late into day usually. We sought another hotel and personally inspected the San Fernando hotel (see review) and felt like we had stepped into another world based on (this) the San Remo Punta Hotel. The underling message of this review is that you can get a far better hotel, in a better location (on the peninsula), for comparable cost. The San Remo Punta Hotel can not be recommended based on our experience - you really can do far better.

Over-rated and overpriced! Though the location is good, the rooms are small, cleanliness was just okay and service was mediocre. The water in the toilet and from sink & shower was brown! ...the staff denied the hotel should be responsible for providing clear/clean water in the room and said we could use the public bathroom in the lobby (where the water was clear)! After 3 days one staff member said the water line had been worked on resulting in dirt getting into the line, so it would clear up soon with adequate use. Free WiFi is provided but was unavailable for 2 of the 4 days we were there. Free breakfast was included, but they regularly ran out of various items - like butter, fruit and clean dishes/utensils. It was expensive, but it was over the holidays so not unexpected, but for the (lack of) quality and service it was way overpriced! Keep looking and find another hotel option in the area!

The reviews have been largely harsh on this place. We were just there for the 'high season' of NYE and it was one of the few places that was available that didn't require a week stay. We weren't expecting much but it exceeded our expectations. (we stayed at the Hotel San Diego the last time and OMG, I'm so glad they've upgraded, because it was not nice) The staff were lovely and very helpful, the rooms were clean and we enjoyed our time there. When you to go Punta for NY, you aren't spending much time in your room, other than to shower and sleep. So we got exactly what we were looking for. AC, Wi-Fi, breakfast as part of your room rate, a nice room, and excellent service. If you want a 5-star experience, pay for the Conrad. If not, the Hotel San Remo is a great option.

The worst place I have ever stayed. The aircon in my room leaked water over night and has destroyed my 4K video camera fully! The management blamed it on me, leaving my things on the table placed under the aircon, although just few centimeters away from my belongings, there was also the television standing. They simply said it's my mistake and paid zero compensation. Can you even imagine? It's WORSE THAN STEALING from a customer! I would NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I have lost 500 dollars on my 4K camera, broken by the hotel's defective equipment (aircon). NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!

They cancel your reserve automatically if they want, mainly in high demand periods. Take a eternity to answer Whatsapp and never answer the phone. If you are looking to stay there in very important events like "Reveillon" or Xmas, it's better to think twice and look for a trustworthy hotel.

It took me few days to write this review so I would sleep over the final analysis... In one sentence: YOU DON'T DESERVE THIS HOTEL! Although it looks nice at first the attention to details and the bad services ruin all the experience. Not to mention the infrastructures glitches that transform the hole stay in a nightmare. Let's start with this glitches:||- Although they promote WI-FI, it actually doesn't work at all. Numerous guests hulled up in the lobby trying to connect. In the room? Don't even bother to ask!||- The hallway to the room have no windows and the motion sensor are poorly placed. So going back to your room is like a dooms day experience.||- The walls are made out of Dow Corning's DryWall. Not sound proof - which is REEEEEALY bad in a hotel over holidays! (I won't go into details!)||- On out second day the bathroom started to smell really bad. Consequence of the poor construction materials they used to build it.||- Proof of such poor construction is the elevator, which makes terrible noises and are, for sure, without maintenance.||||Some services problems:||- Clean towers had to be asked for!||- Not a single hair dryer to be lent to customers.||- Toilet paper must be really expensive in Uruguay as they wouldn't replace it after finished.||- Breakfast is to remind you that you are on the worst of the worst! Not a single type of fruit (like banana, apples, or any other). At least you can repeat coffee, milk, coco and white bread as you wish...||||For almost US$ 200 per night we expect a little more. But the worst of all is the condescendent staff that||is just not prepared to handle a quality service. Not that they are rude - they are actually nice, but cannot handle difficult and awards situations. This is actually a rule in Uruguay: from sushi bars to fancy restaurants we observed many tellers engaging in how-to-loose-your-customer-in-3-steps activity. Something to be aware of.||||||I hope this detailed report can help people avoid the mistake we made by choosing this hotel.
