We absolutely loved our stay here. The location is stunning - surrounded by rice fields with mountains in the distance, so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful (the sunsets were amazing, as well as the mornings with local people starting work in the fields early on). The hotel itself is cozy, stylish, with every detail clearly thought through. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The common spaces are perfect - big pool with comfortable sun-beds, books corner for those who like to read, kids corner with lots of toys to play, area to relax, etc. The staff are very friendly. You don’t see them much, but you always feel genuinely cared for. Breakfast and food were delicious. This place is pure beauty and peace. On top of that, Sanak’s mission to contribute to and support the local community makes the stay even more meaningful. We also had girls from the local village dancing traditional dances one afternoon. It was very beautiful and pretty special. They were super friendly and fun, we talked and danced together. Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking tranquility, beauty, and intention in Bali.

A must do to escape the noisy busy and touristy Bali. Beautiful and comfy bungalows right in the heart of the rice fields and jungle. Nice pool area with beautiful panorama over the mountains. Rooms are quiet, clean, comfy, with a nice balcony over the rice fields. Nice kid area above the restaurant. Restaurant/bar prices are indeed more expensive than the average Bali but this is probably due to the fact that there is nothing else around. A few good cafes/restaurants are reachable by car within 10-15 minutes. Staff could be a bit more attentive/friendly given the higher prices.

I mostly choose a place to stay in based on its ethos and what it stands for. Sanak retreat, their ethos on community empowerment and cultural preservatik. truly shines. Every detail was thought of and intentional , with so much love. They support local livelihood and their mission is to empower the community around, collaborating instead of just building. I love the interiors, the furniture, that had intricate artworks depictive of Balinese culture. Of course staying by a rice field, you hear nature sounds at night, but dont stay in a place like this if you dont appreciate it, or cant handle some bugs at night here and there. I slept very well, the bungalows are very comfortable and spacious! I loved the common hall view and the view from my bungalow. Thank you Sanak Retreat for a wonderful stay, i will be back !

We absolutely loved our stay here. The nature, the atmosphere, and the people felt incredibly authentic, and we felt at home from the very first moment. We originally planned to stay for only two nights but ended up extending to a full week because we enjoyed it so much. It became the absolute highlight of our two-month trip through Bali and Lombok. Truly a special place.

Sanak Retreat is simply amazing! The staff are outstanding – warm, attentive and truly make you feel at home. The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We have been been here many times and it always feels like home away from home. The lush nature surrounding the hotel, the endless views, the humble Balinese staff and the overall tranquil atmosphere keeps us coming back. |The wooden bungalows are tastefully decorated and just feel very cozy. The climate is just superp, not too hot, always a little breeze and low humidity. |The food is so delicious and the massages here so relaxing, we will be back again

A charming stay in the middle of rice paddies We spent a very good week with our 3 young children but if you are very active 4 days might be enough. Beware that Sanak is in the middle of small rice paddies so there might be dusturbances with the burning after the harvest.

One of the best boutique hotels we've stayed at in Bali. Everything about this property was exceptional - the views, the villas, the food, and the staff. While it’s a bit removed from shops and restaurants, which means dining is mostly limited to the on-site restaurant, we actually loved that aspect. It offered a peaceful escape from the crowds and made for a truly relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.
