Sanam Luang is one of the most iconic open spaces in the heart of Bangkok. Located right next to the Grand Palace, this large green field offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by history, culture, and beautiful architecture. It’s a perfect place to take a walk, relax, exercise, or simply sit and enjoy the view especially in the late afternoon when the weather cools down and the sky turns golden. You’ll see locals jogging, families spending time together, and tourists taking photos with the stunning backdrop of the Grand Palace and nearby temples. At night, the area becomes lively yet calm, with soft lights, street food nearby, and a gentle breeze. It’s a wonderful spot to experience real Bangkok life while being surrounded by its rich heritage. Simple, beautiful, and full of charm Sanam Luang is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing...early in the morning when opening is the best....and in the evening take tuktuk a go at least around and make pictures

We accidentally stumbled upon this huge playground during the Songkran festival, and we had so much fun! Everyone was joyfully splashing water and playing with water guns. There were also plenty of food stalls surrounding the playground. The event was very well managed, with convenient water refill stations and a highly organized garbage disposal system – well done to the organizers! I had SO much fun dancing to DJ Thailand! It's been a lifelong dream of mine to dance until my legs gave out to DJ Thailand, and I accidentally found it here! Amazing Thailand! ❤️😋🥳🥳

It was a wonderful experience to attend such an event that attracted thousands of visitors from all around. The car park was massive and finding a vacant spot could be challenging. Entrance is free and requires wearing something decent. There is a security check at the entrance where everyone must show ID. Nicely organized with great effort to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to visit and frequently hosts unique and significant events. We went to see the Buddha's tooth relic. It was brought to Thailand from China. This special event celebrated the 50 years of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand as well as being a commemoration of Rama X's 6th year as King.

Here’s a short, social media-friendly version of the review: KAWS:HOLIDAY Bangkok at Sanam Luang was surreal! Loved seeing the massive sculpture set against Bangkok’s iconic skyline—such a cool mix of contemporary art and tradition. Perfect spot for photos and a peaceful stroll. So glad I caught it!

Sanam Luang regularly hosts public events such as New Year’s Eve chanting ceremonies and free concerts. Most recently, it was the venue for KAWS:HOLIDAY THAILAND, the first-ever showcase of world-renowned artist KAWS in Thailand. The event was organized in collaboration with major partner AllRightsReserved (ARR) and Thai partner Central Embassy.
