Sanctum Inle Resort

"Arriving by boat on the vast Inle Lake, you'd be forgiven for wondering whether you'd stumbled on a Benedictine abbey: The 95-room Sanctum Inle Resort, far from a traditionally appointed Burmese hotel, is a complex of arcaded cloisters, manicured lawns, and Mediterranean-style tiled roofs. Of course, inside, there are nods to its heritage—plenty of teak furniture and local fabrics—to bring you right back to Myanmar. The Cloister Bar, which opens onto an outdoor deck, offers Myanmar-brewed beers, along with two premium local vintages, perfect for sipping while you watch the sunset. Don't miss the Sanctuary Spa, either: The 30-minute Tamarind Skin Exfoliation is as cleansing as it is fragrant." - Betsy Blumenthal

Our stay at Sanctum Inle Resort during the Phaung Daw Oo Festival was phenomenal. This resort is a tranquil sanctuary with stunning, monastic architecture, providing the perfect base for the vibrant festival. The impeccable service was the highlight, with staff going above and beyond to arrange custom boat trips. A peaceful, culturally rich, and absolutely amazing experience on Inle Lake—we can't wait to return! Thank you everyone 🙏🏼

Sanctum Inle is the perfect retreat. The resort design, inspired by monasteries, is stunning and creates an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The service is truly world-class—every staff member was warm, attentive, and helpful, from check-in to arranging our boat tour right from the private jetty. Our room was spacious and luxurious with beautiful lake views. Highly recommend for a relaxing, high-end stay on Inle Lake.

We loved the resort and the Hermitage suite because of its beautiful color and the view.||Dinner was served directly on our terrace (prawn and avocado salad was so yummy).||The manager Ei Ei did a great job by being present at all time.||The coconut noodle soup for breakfast was delicious. ||Our cherry on top was the boat driver Myo who took us to the hotel from the city (the arrival by the lake is really wow) so we asked to keep him for out excursions to the floating village. Really an amazing place

What we liked:|- the arrival by boat and private check in|- home made lemongrass juice|- Design of the hotel with beautiful decorations.|- The breakfast lady Mya who was really attentioned|- room with private terrace||What we did not liked;|Nothing really bad to say, just maybe the gym near buffet area look a bit weird. Our rooms had all different colours and i find mine (yellow) less nice than my friends (red and blue)

We did a group tour in Myanmar and Inle was the highlight of our trip, such a paradisiac place with in addition the Sanctum where service was the best we ever had, from reception to restaurant, cleanliness and the lady manager. One day we had buffet for breakfast but second day was with a choice menu.|Rooms are beautiful. The 3 of us had different colors. Just perfect

The most beautiful resort in Shan state (dare I say Myanmar). Think Lake Como villa meet Spanish-style architecture. Burmese hospitality at its finest.

Stayed in this hotel in December 2017. What a beautiful place this was! Clean, high quality, peaceful yet so close to the action spots. We really enjoyed the food, and impeccable service. I only did not realize that this area is a bit colder than the rest of Myanmar and I wish I had some warmer clothes packed. It was almost surreal that this place exists (with its unique touch of luxury) in this area. I know that at the time this was by a mile the nicest hotel in the area. Everyone in this hotel was super kind and welcoming

Sanctum Inle Resort was the most memorable hotel from our trip around Myanmar and one of the more memorable ones from our travels around 40+ countries. We arrived by boat and enjoyed this entrance to the hotel. You approach the hotel through floating gardens to reveal the complex of cloisters with Mediterranean-style tiled roofs and manicured grounds. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us at the boat and took us to a private room off the lobby where we were checked in by the general manager, Baptiste Cabarry. We were then taken by golf cart to our room as the grounds are rather large. Our room was large with plenty of space, large bathroom and balcony overlooking the grounds. It was quite comfortable and quiet. In the evening the staff would turndown the room. The hotel has loaner bicycles with limited gearing. We used them to check out the nearby village on our first afternoon. The hotel is fairly isolated and the setting is great so we had dinner in the hotel, which served good food. We also enjoyed watching the setting sun from the hotel. The pool was an excellent place to spend the afternoon though it was a little cold. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel’s grounds and setting, which were very peaceful and relaxing. || ||The next day we had a sunrise private Inle Lake boat tour, which we arranged in town. The tour was nice; however, you get dropped off at various places that after a little while get a little boring if you have visited a lot of places around Asia. We would have preferred to have spent some of this time at the hotel. It would be worthwhile researching what you would like to see on Inle Lake to better utilize your time. On the boat tour we did not see the classic fisherman with cone shaped nets that are commonly shown in pictures. The hotel staff told us that fisherman no longer use these types of nets. The receptionist arranged for us to have a fisherman with cone net meet me near the hotel at sunset for pictures. We were really happy with their assistance, since this one of the things were looking forward to when visiting Inle Lake.|| ||Throughout our stay the staff was very helpful making sure everything was arranged for our day. They arranged our taxi to the airport and had a golf cart ready to take us to checkout. Overall, I would stay at Sanctum Inle Resort and would likely not think about staying anywhere else.
