Sand Bar

We were there at the end of Hurricane Lee day, and watched a most amazing sunset from the porch. The food and the service was just as amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had the clam platter and the fish and chips with a bottle of wine. Probably one of the best F&C I’ve had on the Cape to date. Clams were perfect! Lots of French fries and fresh coleslaw. Perfect evening with a perfect sunset and dinner.

Great place to enjoy fantastic food and a beautiful location. They have the great quality casual Beach food- this is a typical food shack. The prices are typical of today's inflated food market. You will get fresh well made food here. They seem to be out of a few things so keep in mind that may happen. There is VERY limited parking. It's a small place and they can only serve so many therefore parking is equally challenging. The setting is gorgeous. We love the Sandbar. The food is great and the scenery is beautiful right on the water. During the day this a great place for families. They make great Mudslides. If you’re looking for a place to dance- come on a Saturday night and see Nautilus play! They have live music through out the week and some of the friendliest staff in town.

Good service, server was friendly and checked in often. Had a mid size group and sat outside. Busy place with a great vibe. Parking is ‘valet’ in a small parking lot. Gluten free options - and super accommodating. Make sure you over communicate allergy and severity. $30 lobster roll with fries and slaw. Buttery toast bun and with good portion of lobster meat. Fish sandwich was extra crispy and delicious

Really nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the live music. We share a seafood platter and a shrimps scampi pizza, and they were both very decent. The must slide was very good. The host was very nice and friendly. The waitress was a little bit confused and kept dropping the check without asking if we are all set and ready to pay first. Other than that, everything else was good.

Cute little rustic bar and grill, close enough to the ocean inlet to provide an airy and beach-like atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and aim to please. The menu is small but there’s something here for almost everyone, from pizza to burgers to fried fish to some interesting sandwiches. I had a grilled shrimp taco, cooked just right and full of flavor, and a house salad that was very fresh. Beer selection was good. Sat at the inside bar with plenty of fresh breeze; they also have nice indoor and outdoor (picnic table) seating areas. No wait for a table or spot at the bar, which is a welcome surprise in the Cape Cod high tourist season!

This spot offers such a relaxing outdoor dining experience, and it truly has the potential to be magnificent. However, it feels like very little effort has been made to transform it into the gem it could be. I'm not entirely sure about the history of the place, but perhaps there are plans to improve the building and outdoor seating area, allowing guests to fully appreciate the beautiful marsh view. To me, it evokes the charm of old Cape Cod, reminiscent of the restaurants I knew as a child. This isn't because it's striving for a vintage vibe, but rather because the place simply appears worn and a bit stuck in the past.

Attended a wedding at this great establishment. Great location, great employees, food and entertainment. Have been to the Sand Bar several other times and always had a great time.

We arrived around 6:45 on Friday night, waited about 30 minutes. Grabbed a couple of drinks at the bar and enjoyed them outside! Atmosphere was great! Food was solid. We ordered 1) the buffalo chicken fried sandwich with ranch, and it came with fries, and 2) Caesar salad with Carolina gold boneless wings. Overall decent, the Caesar salad was very good. We ordered mudslides which were delicious, and a margarita, which was also great! Service and staff were also really nice!

The clam strips were really good. I ended up going back a second time this vacation. The service when busy is awful and disorganized. 10 different young adults all running around aimlessly. Still wasn't a bad experience but your waiting extremely long for just about everything from water to napkins. The prices were fair and the location is situated looking over the water. The insides a bit out dated but does have old cape charm. My first visit the place was essentially dead and the two girls working were absolutely fantastic. Believe it was a Wednesday afternoon soon after they opened. They were very attentive professional and checked in just enough! 10/10 Wednesday crew!

It's a really nice place that gets busy pretty quick. Really good shrimp scampi pizza and very decent seafood platter. The ambience is awesome when they have lots of live music especially during the weekend. The service is very friendly , outdoor seating hard to get.

The Sandbar was our favorite stop while on vacation in Dennis. The staff were friendly and recommended we grab a beer inside during our short wait for a spot outside. We got quick service at the bar despite it being a full house, and our wait was much quicker than expected. We got the spicy Hawaiian pizza with GF crust and me and my husband agreed that it was one of the better gluten-free pizzas we've had. The oysters from the outside bar were great too and shucked right in front of us. The views from the patio are stunning and the live music was super fun!

Amazing place!!! Go in the afternoon/early evening for an amazing experience. Friendly staff, amazing views, and food was really good! Pizza, onion rings, and wings were great. Thanks for a great overall experience.

Ordered the Cajun shrimp tacos. Very good and tasty but messy. Waitstaff was very young and paid little attention. Overall ok.

The best bar in the cape ! We're visiting for the weekend and thankfully we got Bridget to take care of us both nights. I could not recommend this spot enough great food and atmosphere!

Great atmosphere! Fun spot right on the water with the best outdoor seating to enjoy sunset. Enjoyed a delicious fried clam platter and fish and chips along with some drinks. Service was quick and attentive despite a large crowd. A summer time staple in mid cape!

We came here for a quick bite and we were heavily disappointed. The fish and chips was still frozen solid in the middle and the salad with chicken looked like it had been assembled haphazardly on a plate. A good spot if you're looking for something quick post beach, but not worth the prices.

so many great memories here. my family and i are here everyday for a few weeks in the summer. food is great. waitstaff is friendly and helpful. live music and outdoor area make this a must see. does get incredibly busy at night so get there early

My son, daughter, her boyfriend and I all stopped in for a round of drinks before blue crabbing. Our server Kay was just delightful and a pleasure to chat with. Always a great experience here.

So I have only ONE negative review about Sand Bar. The negative review is that they aren't open year round, which obviously isn't a negative review. The food is PHENOMENAL, including the pizza. I compare this to Joey's Pizzeria, which is also seasonal, is 30% more, and Sand Bar is twice as good when it comes to quality...... Sand Bar is the place to go for pizza...........

upon entering the restaurant we were seated right away. A waitress came over and gave us menus. We sat for 20 minutes waiting for someone to come take our order. There were 3 waitresses on their phones, eating, talking. I noticed other tables that were upset with the lack of service. We ended up getting up and leaving after 30 minutes of being ignored. would never recommend this restaurant

It started at the valet parking. There was no visible sign saying valet parking when you entered directly in front of you, the sign was all the way to the left side and anyone entering would have difficulty seeing it unless they were approached by a valet attendant that was attentive, , so we proceeded to pull into the parking lot to park when the valet attendant was sitting in a car next to us and said we need to leave the keys in the car. It was valet parking only was. He told me to leave my key in the car which I proceeded to do. My wife and I went into the restaurant to be seated and sat there for about 10 minutes but my wife had a strange feeling about our car being unattended. We went outside and found both valet attendants sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck doing nothing. I went to my car and found it still running with the doors unlocked as if they didn't want to bother with me. I proceeded to get in my car and leave. Anyone could have entered my car and drove away with it. I feel the valet is very negligent and arrogant as well. I will never come back to this place again. The owners of this establishment need to hire respectable mature individuals to work there, or they will be losing many customers in the future.It

We sat there for almost half an hour and no one came to give a menu or anything and we stood at the door for 5 minutes before someone told us to sit horrible customer service would not recommend!!!

Bouncer ID'ed us multiple times within an hour and was blocking the door when we were in the outside area so we weren't able to go back in easily. Let girls in with no ID and no issue. Ridiculous

I am impressed with old Cape Cod here being shaped by young people. Gorgeous setting. Old bar. Go away if you want antiseptics. This is an old house in a gorgeous setting. I stopped for an app lunch of scallops wrapped in bacon. And a frozen drink. Good. Great young bartender woman. Cannot wait to return for some music. To me,this is an authentic cape place. Beautiful vistas.

LOVED it here. We got a great table outside with a great view. Staff was friendly food was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Got seated within 10 min with no reservation on a busy Friday night.

Great food, great atmosphere but disappointed in the service, mainly by the manager. Waitresses were pleasant. But policies for guests should be consistent! Very disappointing experience. I heard this restaurant was dog friendly. We went for dinner/drinks and noted there was a dog there. The following night, we went and brought our golden retriever and we're turned down as soon as we got there. The manager who we spoke to said they had not allowed dogs due to an incident several months back. When I asked why they allowed dogs the day prior, no one could give me an answer and said "rules are rules." We had to leave our golden retriever in our running car because it was 80 degrees. Meanwhile, another guest had brought in her dog and snuck it under her table. That waitress had clearly seen the dog. This was frustrating for us because the "rules are rules" was not consistent for all guests. And my golden was hanging out in the AC in our car...

Good location bad service The view is nice however the teens running the place are inattentive to the guest. We waited a very long time for our food, never received/asked for refills on our drinks. Fountain drinks tasted odd and the food was meh for the prices. We didn't get utensils to eat with when our food arrived and when we did they were community forks that everyone prior to us touched. Lastly, the servers were unfriendly and socialized among themselves. Hopefully you have a better experience if you choose to come here.

We ate outside so I can't comment about the cleanliness of the establishment. The outside area is cute with picnic tables and umbrellas. Very nice few with a great feel of old Cape Cod! The drinks were fine, not bad and not spectacular, but they were good. My chicken sandwich was a little over done, but not too bad. My friend loved her fish tacos! We also ordered a lobster salad. Far too expensive for what you got! You can go other places and get a lot more as they say, "bang for your buck." I think everyone should go here at least once, it's a true Cape Cod experience!

My husband and I had a night out while my parents watched the baby. If your looking for a place for a date night that has good drinks, good food, a good view, and casual dining this is your place. My husband and I highly recommend!

great ambiance! went for a post dinner drink with a water view. the painkiller was amazing and reminded me how much i love orange juice. they were also surprisingly strong?? this is not a watered down college town drink. it got very busy after 9, but for a chill sit down at 8 it was no wait

The view was incredible, 5/5. Food and drink..absolutely no clue. After waiting to be served for 15 minutes we awkwardly got up and left. Like, they have a menu but I think it's just for ambiance because no one came over to ask us if we wanted anything. They staged people with food and drinks around us to make it feel like this place was poppin' but we eventually got hungry and thirsty. So, we went to TreeHouse Brewery in Sandwich where we were served drinks and solid food trucks were present. Treehouse is awesome, highly recommend. Sand Bar sucks.

The food was great. Our waiter was really nice. We love this place. Cape Cod seafood at its best.

Just stopped on a whim to have a cocktail. Also had their Fried Cod Bites as an appetizer. It was a plentiful serving for two and very tasty.

This is just on the fish tacos and service! We loved the taco's- fresh cod, hot and fresh, diced tomatoes, onions and the crispiest fries, also loved the Cole slaw. Service was so nice and polite- I agree with some other comments where I wished things were a bit cleaner... we sat inside but I'd recommend outside if you can get a seat!

Well, it's near the water. I think most restaurants by the water believe they can get away with crappy food and overpriced drinks... this is one of them. The food is boring and bland at best and 12 bucks for a small mudslide in a plastic cup is a joke. If you want to go, make sure it's earlier in the day because the seating is outside only (covid) and they are using outhouses!!! For Real People.

View is beautiful. Had the Nantucket Scallop Taco and loved it. Service fast and courteous.

Had the best dinner at the Sand Bar last night! After coming to the cape for 8-years we stumbled upon this place and couldn't have been happier. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the view was nice. The food was delicious, best Cajun shrimp tacos I have ever tasted! Will definitely be back!

This is the shittiest bar I've ever gone to. It was a $20 cover fee for mediocre drinks and poor service. The whole vibe of the restaurant was dim and dirty... I would NEVER recommend this to others.

Best place in Dennis. Everyone is nice, view from patio is amazing, drinks are cold and food is great. Highly recommend!

We only had drinks. I don't mind paying $14 dollars for a drink , but do expect there to be alcohol in it, very noticeable small measure for even this lightweight

We popped in here when we arrived on the cape- from the outside it looks like a quaint house on the water. There is a pretty big cozy bar inside and outside seating that overlooks the water. It is very casual and laid back. The staff was super friendly and the food was good! We had a few drinks, burger & caesar salad it was reasonably priced for lunch and a nice place to sit outside and enjoy an August afternoon.

I went to the SandBar this past Tuesday afternoon July 26th. We sat at the bar . I had a stuffed quahog and it was OK. May I suggest serving them with a side of melted butter and more than 1 wedge of lemon ?.......... Anyways, there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, but the ones who were there were extra friendly and fun! Our bartender was Ashley and she was fantastic! Her parents were there as well, celebrating her dad's birthday ! He was a HOOT! Loved her mom too! We left feeling like we had made new friends! Had a great time and will definitely be back! The view is spectacular! I'm a local Cape Codder and I had not been to the Sandbar since the mid 90s! It hasn't changed much if at all! Its very reminiscent of Old Cape Cod.

Giving this place a 3 for the food and the view. The view from the outside dining area it was very pretty. As other reviewer's said, the place is quite filthy Especially outdoors as you enter the restaurant. Just outside the entryway of this marsh side restaurant were hundreds of cigarette butts and at least six empty drink cups just laying in the gardens and sitting on the lawn. The wait staff was very friendly and the food was really pretty good. I had a veggie burger which was pretty average except that it was served with a nice pepper and onion topping which added a lot of step two and otherwise don't veggie burger. Coleslaw was quite good. What did the onion rings which were hand cut and not heavily breaded. They were good too. We also ordered a fresh fish po-boy which was very tasty

On the marsh side across from the Lighthouses Inn. This is a classic Cape Cod summer shanty. I love it. Foosball Ms PacMan and ring toss outside by the picnic tables. Menu is solid and has options for all ages and tastes. If you are able to get here for sunset you won't regret it.

This place is the perfect beach spot. Great casual food, cold beers and fun atmosphere. There is something here for everyone. Bonus points - no one looks twice if you show up in your bathing suit and flip flops. The picnic tables by the river are perfect. This is a Cape institution that has withstood time.

THE most overrated place I have ever been to. The service was really terrible - being rushed the second we sat down (being asked 3-4 times if we wanted the check while we were still eating) & we found it difficult to find someone at all to help us at times since all of the workers were busy talking to each other. The only time our server came to our table was to try to get us to leave. I will say the food and drinks were good, but $17 for a personal pizza is absolutely ridiculous. The prices do not reflect anything ordered here - all very average food with high end prices. I wouldn't recommend coming here & definitely will not be coming back. Much better places on the cape to go spend your money.

I was on vacation with my friends and we went to this restaurant for drinks and apps and they refused to serve me for no reason at all. They checked our ID's twice and they came back as real (because they were) both times and they still refused to serve our entire group. We then got food and it was horrible. We got chicken wings and it looked like an entire bottle of BBQ was just dumped on top. 2 minutes after getting our food the waitress brought us our check and made us feel rushed. When we finally left, a group of teenage hostess stared at us all and talked about us making us so uncomfortable. Horrible service will never return

Went here around 8pm on a Tuesday. We ordered 2 house salads, one with shrimp and one with steak. The shrimp was insanely over cooked. It was rubbery and hard to chew. The steak was completely raw (asked for med rare). The steak was also very chewy and had an odd marinade on it that did not pair well with salad. Also a little disappointed that my husband mentioned he was the DD and we were charged for his soda, then the server refilled it again without asking and we were charged for the refill also. We were just visiting the cape so we probably won't be back in the area but if we ever are, we won't be going back here.

Cajun shrimp tacos were excellent! Shrimp scampi pizza was yummy! The outside seating had a nice view of a marshy inlet. Nice diversion.

When I tell you that the mudslides here rock, I MEAN IT! When you take your first sip it leads you straight into another world called CANDY LAND. You hop on your baileys sponsored slide and slide all the way down the ice cream mud mountain! So exhilarating.. was not ready to come back to reality when I finished my drink. Plus I saw two horse dogs that slobbered everywhere and it was so yucky that I needed an escape from my reality. Kind staff.

They are listed as open but are not. Ghost town here at 2pm on a Wednesday. Which sucked cause with the gale warning it was awesome to see the kite and wind boarders out doing their thing. A cocktail would have made it even more better.
